Objective To evaluate the effects of three different estrogen used for endometrium preparation on pregnancy rate, as well as hormone profile on day 5 frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Methods Retrospective, observational study. Setting: A tertiary teaching and research private reproductive medicine center. Patients: Ninety patients who were undergoing endometrium preparation for day five frozen embryo transfer cycle (FET). Intervention(s): The women were divided in three groups according to the administration route of estrogen (E2): oral (Primogyna), transdermal patches (Estradot), or transdermal gel (Oestrogel Pump). These administration routines of estrogen are equivalent to 6mg of estradiol daily. All women received 600mg of vaginal progesterone (P) per day (Utrogestan) for luteal phase support. We drew blood samples on starting P day, as well as on beta hCG day for E2 and P measurements. Main Outcome Measure(s): Clinical pregnancy rates (PR). Results Patient features in the three groups were comparable. There were no significant differences concerning implantation rate, clinical PR, miscarriage rate, multiple-pregnancy rate, or E2 and P levels on starting P day and on beta hCG day. Conclusions In FET cycles with oral (Primogyna) or transdermal patches (Estradot), or transdermal gel (Oestrogel Pump), there was no significant difference on pregnancy rates.

The [CII] 158$~\mu$m emission line represents so far one of the most profitable tools for the investigation of the high-redshift galaxies in the early Universe. Being one of the brightest cooling lines in the rest-frame far-infrared regime of star-forming galaxies, it has been successfully exploited as a tracer of star-formation rate (SFR) in local sources. The picture is more complex at higher redshifts, where its usability in this context is still under investigation. Recent results from the ALMA Large Program to INvestigate [CII] at Early times (ALPINE) survey suggest that there is no (or weak) evolution of the L$\mathrm{_{[CII]}}$-SFR relation up to $z\sim6$ but their reliability is hampered by the presence of a large population of [CII] non-detected galaxies. In this work, we characterize the population of [CII] non-detections in ALPINE. By stacking their ALMA spectra, we obtain a signal detected at $\sim5.1\sigma$, resulting in a [CII] luminosity of $\mathrm{log(L_\mathrm{[CII]}}/\mathrm{L_{\odot}})$ $\sim7.8$. When combining this value with those from the [CII] detections, we find a $\mathrm{L_{[CII]}}$-SFR relation with a slope $b=1.14\pm0.11$, in agreement within the uncertainties both with the linear relation found in the local Universe, and with the previous findings from ALPINE at $z\sim5$. This suggests that the [CII] line can be considered a good tracer of star formation up to the distant Universe. Finally, we show that the galaxies of our sample that most deviate from the observed L$_\mathrm{[CII]}$-SFR relation could suffer from a less precise redshift estimation, perhaps artificially reducing their [CII] luminosity. The circumgalactic medium (CGM) is the location where the interplay between large-scale outflows and accretion onto galaxies occurs. Metals in different ionization states flowing between the circumgalactic and intergalactic mediums are affected by large galactic outflows and low-ionization state inflowing gas. Observational studies on their spatial distribution and their relation with galaxy properties may provide important constraints on models of galaxy formation and evolution. In the description of physical systems it is common to discard singular solutions to second order differential equations due to their apparent lack of physical meaning. Nevertheless, it has been demonstrated, using a mathematical-physics approach, that singular solutions can be used in the description of optical beams. In this paper, we construct and study paraxial traveling-waves using the full set of solutions to the paraxial wave equation, and prove that they diverge at infinity. We ascribe that non-physical effect to the paraxial approximation of the Helmholtz equation. Despite this, we show that these traveling waves provide a mathematical-physics framework that unveils orbital angular momentum carrying Laguerre–Gauss beam as the superposition of these traveling waves, and permits a physical description of the self-healing process.

The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is an international, world-class experiment aimed at exploring fundamental questions about the universe that are at the forefront of astrophysics and particle physics research. DUNE will study questions pertaining to the preponderance of matter over antimatter in the early universe, the dynamics of supernovae, the subtleties of neutrino interaction physics, and a number of beyond the Standard Model topics accessible in a powerful neutrino beam. A critical component of the DUNE physics program involves the study of changes in a powerful beam of neutrinos, i.e., neutrino oscillations, as the neutrinos propagate a long distance. The experiment consists of a near detector, sited close to the source of the beam, and a far detector, sited along the beam at a large distance. This document, the DUNE Near Detector Conceptual Design Report (CDR), describes the design of the DUNE near detector and the science program that drives the design and technology choices. The goals and requirements underlying the design, along with projected performance are given. The Late Cretaceous dinosaur record in southern South America has been improved recently; particularly with findings from Chorrillo and Cerro Fortaleza formations, both bearing ankylosaur remains, a clade that was not previously recorded in the Austral Basin. The dinosaur fauna of the type locality of Cerro Fortaleza Formation is known from -and biased to- large-sized sauropod remains and a single described taxon, the titanosaur Dreadnoughtus schrani. Here, we report the taxonomic composition of a site preserving thirteen isolated teeth and several osteoderms belonging to three dinosaur clades (Abelisauridae, Titanosauria, and Nodosauridae), and at least one clade of notosuchian crocodyliforms (Peirosauridae). They come from sediments positioned at the mid-section of the Cerro Fortaleza Formation, which is Campanian-Maastrichtian in age, adding valuable information to the abundance and biodiversity of this Cretaceous ecosystem. Since non-titanosaur dinosaur bones are almost absent in the locality, the teeth presented here provide a window onto the archosaur biodiversity of the Late Cretaceous in southern Patagonia. The nodosaurid tooth and small armor ossicles represent the first record of ankylosaurs for this stratigraphic unit. The peirosaurid material also represents the most austral record of the clade in South America.

Pharmacogenomics (PGx), one of the several tools of precision medicine, has been slowly implemented in the clinic during the past decades. This process generally starts with direct and indirect genotype-phenotype associations of gene variants and drug efficacy, or adverse drug reactions, followed by replication and validation studies. Institutional efforts led by the PGx Research Network, The PGx Knowledge Base, and The Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium, mine all available data for further validation or research in additional populations. This data mining gives rise to a detailed classification of over 200 druggene pairs which, with enough documentation, may become part of a publishable guideline to aid clinicians in drug selection and dosing using genetics. The US Food and Drug Administration utilizes these guidelines to issue warnings and recommendations for specific drugs and their cautioning serves clinicians and pharmacists worldwide. Here, we aim to discuss the steps of this process and list existing actionable drug-gene pairs. Moreover, we describe the current status of PGx knowledge in populations from Mexico for actionable variants on the 19 genes listed by present PGx guidelines affecting 47 drugs. Our review collects current allele frequency information for these actionable variants, lists gaps of PGx information for relevant markers, and highlights the importance of continuing PGx research in Native and Mestizo populations.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multi-organic autoimmune disease with a wide variety of clinical manifestations. However, hepatic dysfunction is not included in the diagnostic criteria for the disease and has not been recognized properly. The spectrum of hepatic involvement described in these patients ranges from abnormalities in liver function tests (LFTs) to fulminant hepatic failure. Usually, abnormalities in LFTs are only mild and transient, have a hepatocellular pattern and are not related to SLE but rather are mostly drug related. The most frequent finding on liver biopsy is steatosis (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). Patients do not frequently progress to advanced chronic liver disease, and their outcome is favourable. Those who develop cirrhosis have traditional risk factors, such as other non-SLE-related conditions. In this work, we aim to review hepatic manifestations in patients with SLE, as well as the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches used for different liver diseases in these patients.

Atrophic carcinoma and microcystic carcinoma have previously been classified as variants of conventional acinar adenocarcinoma. In this article, we studied 4 cases of atrophic carcinoma and 4 cases of limited microcystic carcinoma. We found an incidence of 0.8% in 250 needle prostatic biopsies and 1.3% of atrophic carcinoma in 150 radical prostatectomies. Microcystic carcinomas were found in 3 prostatectomies (1.2%) and in 1 needle biopsy (0.67%). The useful histological criteria for atrophic carcinoma included the irregular disposition of the glands, infiltrative pattern, “rigid” luminal borders, and intraluminal secretions. Cytological changes included scant cytoplasm, nucleomegaly, hyperchromatic nuclei, and visible nucleoli. The glands of the microcystic carcinoma differ from the benign glands because the malignant ones show a markedly greater dilatation and exhibit rigidity of glandular lumens. In some cases of microcystic carcinoma, the nuclei were flattened, small, and hyperchromatic; therefore, they can be difficult to recognize as malignant.

The complete osteology of the abelisaurid Viavenator exxoni, from the Bajo de la Carpa Formation (Santonian, Upper Cretaceous) is described. Viavenator is characterized by a series of autapomorphies, including: transversely compressed parietal depressions on both sides of the supraoccipital crest; ventral edges of the paraoccipital processes located above the level of the dorsal edge of the occipital condyle; basioccipital-opisthotic complex about two and a half times the width and almost twice the height of the occipital condyle, in posterior view; well-developed crest below the occipital condyle, diverging ventrally and defining the subcondylar recess; deeply excavated and sub-circular basisphenoidal recess, with its major axis transversely oriented; basipterygoid processes horizontally placed with respect to the cranial roof and located slightly dorsally to the basal tubera; mid and posterior cervical centra with slightly convex lateral and ventral surfaces; hyposphene-hypanthrum articular complex present from dorsal 2 onward; presence of an interspinous accessory articular system in middle and posterior dorsal vertebrae; presence of a pair of pneumatic foramina within the prespinal fossa in anterior caudal vertebrae; distal end of the scapular blade posteriorly curved. Particularly, Viavenator shows plesiomorphic cranial characters, i.e. flat frontals lacking domes or horns, combined with derived postcranial characters, e.g. the interspinous accessory joint system of dorsal vertebrae. This combination between plesiomorphic and derived traits suggests that Viavenator is a transitional form, which is an idea supported by its intermediate stratigraphic and phylogenetic placement between the basal and older (e.g. Skorpiovenator, Ilokelesia) and derived and younger members of the clade (e.g. Aucasaurus, Carnotaurus). Two new specimens of abelisaurid theropods from La Invernada fossil area (Bajo de la Carpa Formation; Santonian) are described. They correspond to an incomplete skull and several postcranial remains. MAU-Pv-LI-582 (skull) shares some morphological traits with other furileusaurs (Viavenator exxoni and Llukalkan aliocranianus) from the same area, such as: presence of a rounded knob on the anteromedial border of the supratemporal fossa, large foramina for the caudal middle cerebral veins, and a triangular basisphenoid recess with Llukalkan, and a basituberal web ventrally concave, a large common foramen for the exit of CNs III and IV, and particularly the absence of a caudal tympanic recess with Viavenator. MAU-Pv-LI-665 (vertebrae and ribs) shares some features with Viavenator, such as the presence of a single pneumatic foramen in the mid cervical centrum, and the shape and orientation of the neural spine of the mid dorsal vertebra. These findings, added to the previous ones, not only reveal the abundance of abelisaurids in this geographical area, but also the variety of morphotypes that coexisted during the middle of the Upper Cretaceous, at least in the north of Argentine Patagonia.

Objective: The aim of the present prospective study was to evaluate which ovarian reserve marker would be more reliable as the quality of the A + B embryos (day 3 and blastocyst). Methods: We ran a prospective study with 124 infertile women, aged 24-48 years, from 2017 to 2018. The patients were divided into 3 groups according to age and the subgroups were compared for AMH, AFC, number of A+B embryos. A well preserved skeleton of a new abelisaurid is reported here. The holotype of Viavenator exxoni was found in the outcrops of the Bajo de la Carpa Formation (Santonian, Upper Cretaceous), northwestern Patagonia, Argentina. This new taxon belongs to the South American clade of abelisaurids, the brachyrostrans. The current phylogenetic analysis places it as the basalmost member of a new clade of derived brachyrostrans, named Furileusauria, characterized by distinctive cranial, axial and appendicular anatomical features. The Santonian age of Viavenator allows filling the stratigraphic gap exhibited between the basal brachyrostrans of Cenomanian–Turonian age, and the derived forms from the Campanian-Maastrichtian. The evolution of abelisaurids during the Late Cretaceous, faunal replacements, and the adaptive radiation that occurred during that period of time in South America are discussed.

This article describes the study of the treatment of tequila industry vinasses based on the sequential application of coagulation-flocculation and heterogeneous catalytic ozonation. Coagulation-flocculation treatment used biopolymers to reduce the nondissolved organic matter and to reduce the degree of color units in effluent. Among six different substances, chitosan was the most efficient biopolymer to remove the highest chemical organic demand (COD) concentration (84.0%). The response surface technique was used to obtain the best attainable operation conditions of coagulation-flocculation process. The initial organic matter concentration, the reaction period and biopolymer concentration were selected as the independent variables. Two levels of analysis were performed: optimally and sensibility. The best reaction conditions were 3.23 × 104 mg L−1 of initial COD, 125.4 mg L−1 of chitosan concentration, and 60.0 min of reaction. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of three different luteal phase support protocols with estrogen on the pregnancy rates and luteal phase hormone profiles of patients undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) cycles. A secondary objective was to evaluate which ovarian reserve markers correlated with pregnancy rates. Methods: This retrospective observational study was carried out at a private tertiary reproductive medicine teaching and research center. The study enrolled 104 patients undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) on an antagonist protocol for controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH). The women were divided into three groups based on the route of administration of estrogen (E2) for luteal phase support: oral (Primogyna); transdermal patches (Estradott); or transdermal gel (Oestrogel Pump). The administration of estrogen provided the equivalent to 4 mg of estradiol daily. All women received 600mg of vaginal progesterone (P) per day (Utrogestan) for luteal phase support. Blood samples were drawn on the day of hCG administration and on the day of beta hCG testing to measure E2 and P levels. Clinical pregnancy rate (PR) was the main endpoint. Results: The patients included in the three groups were comparable. No significant differences were found in implantation rates, clinical PR, miscarriage rates, multiple-pregnancy rates, E2 or P levels on the day of beta hCG measurement. We describe a revised procedure for the numerical simulation of planetary nebulae luminosity functions (PNLF), improving on previous work (M\'endez & Soffner 1997). The procedure now is based on new H-burning post-AGB evolutionary tracks (Miller Bertolami 2016). For a given stellar mass, the new central stars are more luminous and evolve faster. We have slightly changed the distribution of the [OIII] 5007 intensities relative to those of H$\beta$ and the generation of absorbing factors, while still basing their numerical modeling on empirical information extracted from studies of galactic planetary nebulae (PNs) and their central stars. We argue that the assumption of PNs being completely optically thick to H-ionizing photons leads to conflicts with observations and show that to account for optically thin PNs is necessary. We then use the new simulations to estimate a maximum final mass, clarifying its meaning, and discuss the effect of internal dust extinction as a possible way of explaining the persistent discrepancy between PNLF and surface brightness fluctuation (SBF) distances. By adjusting the range of minimum to maximum final mass, it is also possible to explain the observed variety of PNLF shapes at intermediate magnitudes. Our objective was to develop and test a dynamic simulation model of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related diseases to assess rational vaccination strategies in Argentina. A dynamic stochastic transmission model for hetero- and homosexual transmission of HPV oncogenic and low-risk oncogenic types among females and males was developed. The model included HPV transmission and vaccination, the natural history of HPV-related diseases, disease outcomes, and cervical cancer screening. Considering all cervical cancers, covered or not by the current quadrivalent vaccine, the existing coverage rate would lead to 60% reduction in the global incidence of cervical cancer at 25 years, and to 79% at 50 years. Isolated current female vaccination without a screening program would need around 100 years to eliminate cervical cancer from the local population. Current coverage rate would lead to 59% reduction of vulvar cancer, 76% of vaginal cancer, 85% of anal cancer, and 87% of oropharyngeal cancer, estimated over a 25-year time prospect. Female HPV vaccination within the context of current cervical cancer screening should reach a minimum long-term mean coverage of 60% of girls, receiving at least a two-dose vaccine schedule, to significantly reduce or virtually eliminate cervical cancer at 50 years. Including vaccination to boys to improve herd immunity did not influence the incidence of cervical cancer over time, as long as female coverage did not fall below 50%. Regarding vulvar, vaginal, anal, penile, and some oropharyngeal cancers, current girls-only based vaccination could virtually eliminate these cancer types after 35-40 years, both in women and men.

Se desarrolló un modelo dinámico estocástico para transmisión hetero/homosexual de VPH oncogénicos y de bajo riesgo oncogénico, entre mujeres y hombres. El modelo incluyó transmisión y vacunación contra VPH, historia natural de enfermedades relacionadas con VPH, mortalidad y programas de detección de cualquier cáncer de cuello uterino (CCU); teniendo en cuenta todos estos, con o sin vacunación cuadrivalente con la cobertura actual, la reducción sería 60% en la incidencia global de CCU en 25 años, y de 79% en 50 años. Vacunando solo mujeres, sin programa de detección precoz, necesitaría unos 100 años para eliminar el CCU localmente. La tasa de vacunación actual determinaría 59% de reducción del cáncer de vulva, 76% del cáncer vaginal, 85% del cáncer anal y 87% del cáncer orofaríngeo, a 25 años. La vacunación de mujeres, con el cribado actual del CCU, deberá alcanzar una cobertura media mínima a largo plazo del 60% de las niñas, con al menos dos dosis de vacunas, para reducir significativamente o eliminar el CCU en 50 años. La vacunación en niños para mejorar la inmunidad de grupo no influiría en la incidencia del CCU de n o caer la cobertura femenina por debajo de 50%. Con respecto a cánceres de vulva, vagina, ano, pene y algunos orofaríngeos, la vacunación actual solo en niñas podría eliminar virtualmente estos tipos de cáncer después de 35-40 años, tanto en mujeres como en hombres.

Idiopathic endocranial hypertension is infrequently associated with hypovitaminosis A and D. The case of an 8-year-old female with 24-hour blurred vision and bilateral papilledema is presented. Nuclear magnetic resonance was normal. Opening pressure of cerebrospinal fluid: 260 mmH2O. She presented vitamin A and D deficiency and started replacement therapy. The second case corresponds to a 12-year-old male with fever and odynophagia of 3 days. History of glomerulonephritis and overweight. He had bipalpebral edema and papilledema. Computed tomography scan of the orbit: increase of fluid in the sheath of both optic nerves. Nuclear magnetic resonance: intrasellar arachnoidocele. Opening pressure of cerebrospinal fluid: 400 mmH2O. He presented vitamin D and B6 deficiency and started replacement treatment. The elevation of intracranial pressure triggers compensation mechanisms that, when they fail, can compromise life or cause serious neurological disabilities. Recognizing the cause for an accurate therapeutic approach is key to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with this pathology.

Río Negro, Argentina In the last decades, the Argentinian ornithopod record has been increased with new and diverse bone remains found along all the Upper Cretaceous. Most of them are very incomplete and represent taxa of different size. As result, the studies about the palaeobiodiversity of the Ornithopoda clade in South America are complex. In this paper, new postcranial remains of an indeterminate medium-sized ornithopod from the Santonian Bajo de la Carpa Formation (Rincón de los Sauces, Neuquén province) are presented. They present diagnostic features of the Ornithopoda clade, and several characters that relate them with other Argentinian ornithopods, especially with the medium-sized members of the Elasmaria clade sensu Calvo et al. (2007) (Macrogryphosaurus and Talenkauen). The postcranial material allows to identificate at least three different ontogenetic stages: adult, subadult more immature and subadult. These bones are the first record of Ornithopoda for the Bajo de la Carpa Formation and one of the very scarce Santonian records of this clade in South America. The diversity of the Late Cretaceous South American ornithopods presents two clear distributions: the Cenomanian-Santonian was characterized by small and medium euiguanodonts and elasmarian; and the Campanian–Maastrichtian by the medium sized elasmarian and large sized hadrosaurids.

Several remains of an abelisaurid theropod including a nearly complete sacral complex articulated with both ilia, the distal boot of the pubes, the furcula, teeth, and fragments of transverse processes of caudal vertebrae was discovered in the La Invernada fossil site, northern Patagonia from the Bajo de la Carpa Formation (Santonian). The sacrum exhibit features typical of abelisauroids as narrowing of the middle sacral centra, fused neural spines forming a continuous sheet and ventral bow of the sacrum, in lateral view. The furcula represents de first mention of this bone for a South American abelisaurid. The morphology observed in the transverse processes with distal end projected forward and sagittal ridge on the ventral surface allows its taxonomic assignment to the clade Brachyrostra. International audience; Objective: Ovarian reserve evaluation has been the focus of substantial clinical research for several years. This study aimed to examine the associations between markers of ovarian reserve and ovarian response. Methods: This prospective study included 132 infertile women aged 24-48 years undergoing routine exploration during unstimulated cycles prior to the start of assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatments at our center from July 2015 to January 2017. Descriptive parameters and patient characteristics were reported as mean (SD) or median (range) values depending on the data distribution pattern. Student's t-test was performed for continuous variables; the Wilcoxon and Pearson's test were used for data not following a normal distribution; and Fisher's test was used for categorical variables. p

Molecular doping: The standard model for molecular p-doping of organic semiconductors (OSCs) assumes integer charge transfer between OSC and dopant. This is in contrast to an alternative model based on intermolecular complex formation instead. By systematically varying the acceptor strength it was possible to discriminate the two models. The latter is clearly favored, suggesting strategies for the chemical design of more efficient molecular dopants.
