The flow behavior of TC4 was studied through thermal compression experiments conducted at deformation temperatures of 910, 930, 950, and 970 °C, and strain rates of 0.01, 0.1, 1, and 10 s−1. After hot deformation, the dynamic recrystallization mechanisms were characterized by electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) technology. The results showed that the flow stress increased with rising strain rate and decreased with increasing temperature. A constitutive equation, based on the Zener-Holloman parameter, was constructed to predict the flow stress. The resulting model accurately predicted the flow stresses of TC4, with a relative mean prediction error of 7.9%. Analysis of EBSD results revealed that three recrystallization mechanisms coexisted in the current experimental study. Discontinuous dynamic recrystallization was identified as the dominant mechanism, complemented by geometric dynamic recrystallization, and followed by continuous dynamic recrystallization. A relatively small grain size, averaging 4.08 μm, can be obtained at a deformation temperature of 930 °C. Additionally, the trend in grain size variation was comparatively stable at a strain rate of 0.1 s⁻1, with an average grain size of 4.21 μm.

Abstract Midline lumbar interbody fusion (MIDLIF) and minimally invasive transforaminal interbody fusion (MIS-TLIF) are two minimally invasive lumbar fusion methods that have gained popularity in the past two decades. MIDLIF involves the use of cortical bone trajectory screws, whereas MIS-TLIF uses traditional pedicle screws. However, there is a significant lack of research directly examining the clinical efficacy of these two methods in treating single-segment lumbar degenerative diseases. Hence, the objective of our retrospective study is to assess and contrast the surgical and clinical results of MIDLIF and MIS-TLIF. The study population comprised 133 patients diagnosed with single-segment lumbar degenerative disease that received treatment using either MIDLIF (n = 65) or MIS-TLIF (n = 68) in our department from January 2017 to January 2019. The fusion rates for MIDLIF were consistently lower than MID-TLIF at all post-operative time periods of follow-up, however, the differences between the two groups were not statistically significant. The 1-year fusion rates were 81.5% (MIDLIF) and 83.8% (MIS-TLIF) (P = 0.728), and the 2-year fusion rates were 87.7% (MIDLIF) and 91.2% (MIS-TLIF) (P = 0.513). The final follow-up fusion rates were 93.8% (MIDLIF) and 95.6% (MIS-TLIF) (P = 0.653). MIDLIF had several advantages over MIS-TLIF, including a shorter operative time (135.2 ± 15.70 vs. 160.1 ± 17.2 min, P 0.05). Although not significant (P = 0.707), MIDLIF (13.8%) had fewer overall complications than MIS-TLIF (16.2%). Therefore, compared to MIS-TLIF, MIDLIF provides perioperative benefits while achieving the same outcomes as MIS-TLIF in terms of fusion rate, pain relief, functional improvement, and complication rate.

Abstract Strain engineering plays an important role in tuning electronic structure and improving catalytic capability of biocatalyst, but it is still challenging to modify the atomic-scale strain for specific enzyme-like reactions. Here, we systematically design Pt single atom (Pt1), several Pt atoms (Ptn) and atomically-resolved Pt clusters (Ptc) on PdAu biocatalysts to investigate the correlation between atomic strain and enzyme-like catalytic activity by experimental technology and in-depth Density Functional Theory calculations. It is found that Ptc on PdAu (Ptc-PA) with reasonable atomic strain upshifts the d-band center and exposes high potential surface, indicating the sufficient active sites to achieve superior biocatalytic performances. Besides, the Pd shell and Au core serve as storage layers providing abundant energetic charge carriers. The Ptc-PA exhibits a prominent peroxidase (POD)-like activity with the catalytic efficiency (K cat/K m) of 1.50 × 109 mM−1 min−1, about four orders of magnitude higher than natural horseradish peroxidase (HRP), while catalase (CAT)-like and superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activities of Ptc-PA are also comparable to those of natural enzymes. Biological experiments demonstrate that the detection limit of the Ptc-PA-based catalytic detection system exceeds that of visual inspection by 132-fold in clinical cancer diagnosis. Besides, Ptc-PA can reduce multi-organ acute inflammatory damage and mitigate oxidative stress disorder.

Isothermal compression tests were conducted out on the Mg–9Li–3Al-1(La/Ce) (wt.%) alloy under different deformation parameter through a Gleeble-3500 thermal-mechanical simulator. The flow curves at high strain rates exhibit a ''serrated flow”, which is a dynamic strain aging behavior. R = 0.9253 and AARE = 7.64% quantified the accuracy of the constitutive equations, indicating that this equation has reliable predictive ability. The thermal processing maps indicated that the safe processing region is T = 537–623 K, ε˙ = 0.041–0.001 s−1. This alloy has excellent formability. When deformation is at T = 473 K, ε˙ = 1 s−1, there are more deformed grains in two phases, and broken β-Li grains distributed in chains along the RD. In addition, some α-Mg phases precipitated from the β-Li phase, distributed along the β-Li grain boundaries, and they were dominated by recrystallized grains with low dislocation density. High-density dislocation regions located both at the grain boundaries and inside the grains. When deformation is at T = 473 K, ε˙ = 0.01 s−1, all the deformed grains in two phases decreased with decreasing strain rate, and they transformed more into substructures. The high-density dislocation regions inside the grains gradually disappear. Additionally, the size of precipitated α-Mg phase increased slightly, which is still predominantly located at the grain boundaries. When deformation is at T = 623 K, ε˙ = 0.01 s−1, the degree of recrystallization increases significantly with increasing temperature. The high-density dislocation regions almost disappeared. Interestingly, large amounts of α-Mg grains precipitated inside the β-Li grains.

Abstract With the accelerating process of global industrialization, the automated fabrication industry, as an important part of the industry, is also developing rapidly. Due to the low efficiency and high resource consumption of traditional manufacturing, it is more important to improve the production efficiency of conventional manufacturing and realize the resource-saving development mode. Due to the characteristics of system digital-driven technology, it can promote the intelligent development of the manufacturing industry. Therefore, the deep integration of system digital-driven technology and manufacturing is conducive to the intelligent promotion of manufacturing. Comparing the difference between the traditional manufacturing industry and the intelligent manufacturing industry, the application potential of system digitalization technology in the manufacturing field is analyzed. Based on the analysis of the theoretical basis of the system digital-driven technology and the application of the system digital technology in the main fields, the importance of the technology for the improvement of the accuracy index in the manufacturing process is emphatically analyzed. The maximum increase can be 5.3%, and the minimum increase can be 3.3%. It can be seen that the deep integration of digital-driven technology and manufacturing can not only improve the intelligent level of manufacturing, realize the intensive development of the industry, but also realize the data sharing of the entire industrial chain.

Abstract Interspecific genomic introgression is an important evolutionary process with respect to the generation of novel phenotypic diversity and adaptation. A key question is how gene flow perturbs gene expression networks and regulatory interactions. Here, an introgression population of two species of allopolyploid cotton (Gossypium) to delineate the regulatory perturbations of gene expression regarding fiber development accompanying fiber quality change is utilized. De novo assembly of the recipient parent (G. hirsutum Emian22) genome allowed the identification of genomic variation and introgression segments (ISs) in 323 introgression lines (ILs) from the donor parent (G. barbadense 3–79). It documented gene expression dynamics by sequencing 1,284 transcriptomes of developing fibers and characterized genetic regulatory perturbations mediated by genomic introgression using a multi‐locus model. Introgression of individual homoeologous genes exhibiting extreme low or high expression bias can lead to a parallel expression bias in their non‐introgressed duplicates, implying a shared yet divergent regulatory fate of duplicated genes following allopolyploidy. Additionally, the IL N182 with improved fiber quality is characterized, and the candidate gene GhFLAP1 related to fiber length is validated. This study outlines a framework for understanding introgression‐mediated regulatory perturbations in polyploids, and provides insights for targeted breeding of superior upland cotton fiber.

ABSTRACT Phagocytosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) followed by its integration into the matured lysosome is critical in the host defense against tuberculosis. How Mtb escapes this immune attack remains elusive. In this study, we unveiled a novel regulatory mechanism by which SIRT7 regulates cytoskeletal remodeling by modulating RAC1 activation. We discovered that SIRT7 expression was significantly reduced in CD14+ monocytes of TB patients. Mtb infection diminished SIRT7 expression by macrophages at both the mRNA and protein levels. SIRT7 deficiency impaired actin cytoskeleton-dependent macrophage phagocytosis, LC3II expression, and bactericidal activity. In a murine tuberculosis model, SIRT7 deficiency detrimentally impacted host resistance to Mtb, while Sirt7 overexpression significantly increased the host defense against Mtb, as determined by bacterial burden and inflammatory–histopathological damage in the lung. Mechanistically, we demonstrated that SIRT7 limits Mtb infection by directly interacting with and activating RAC1, through which cytoskeletal remodeling is modulated. Therefore, we concluded that SIRT7, in its role regulating cytoskeletal remodeling through RAC1, is critical for host responses during Mtb infection and proposes a potential target for tuberculosis treatment.IMPORTANCETuberculosis (TB), caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), remains a significant global health issue. Critical to macrophages’ defense against Mtb is phagocytosis, governed by the actin cytoskeleton. Previous research has revealed that Mtb manipulates and disrupts the host’s actin network, though the specific mechanisms have been elusive. Our study identifies a pivotal role for SIRT7 in this context: Mtb infection leads to reduced SIRT7 expression, which, in turn, diminishes RAC1 activation and consequently impairs actin-dependent phagocytosis. The significance of our research is that SIRT7 directly engages with and activates Rac Family Small GTPase 1 (RAC1), thus promoting effective phagocytosis and the elimination of Mtb. This insight into the dynamic between host and pathogen in TB not only broadens our understanding but also opens new avenues for therapeutic development.

A CFD model considering the saturation pressure difference inside radially rotating heat pipes (RRHP) was proposed to reveal the heat transfer characteristics. To validate the model, copper-water RRHPs were designed and experimented. These experiments were conducted under equivalent centrifugal accelerations ranging from 100 g to 1500 g, with heat inputs varying from 40 W to 240 W. The centrifugal force has a significant influence on heat transfer in the evaporator, leading to the observed of two different working states in the RRHP: forced convection and pool boiling. An unstable transition state may be observed between these two states. As the rotation speed increased, the occurrence of pool boiling gradually suppressed and the heat transfer performance of the RRHP decreased. At 100 g, the minimum thermal resistance was 0.1792 K/W and at 1500 g the minimum thermal resistance slightly increased to 0.2369 K/W. The numerical results showed demonstrated strong agreement with the experiments, with an overall error below 10 %. Subsequently, a working condition diagram was included to provide a dimensionless description for the RRHP heat transfer behaviours based on the Weber number and Bond number. Finally, the heat transfer performance of RRHP under centrifugal accelerations ranging from 2000 g to 1000 g was simulated. The results indicated that even under 10000 g, RRHP can still maintain the thermal resistance at 0.2527 K/W. And the model can be used to further investigate the potential application of different RRHPs in high-speed rotating machinery.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the current status and trends of pressure ulcer care studies over the past two decades using bibliometric and visual analysis, with the objective of providing guidelines for the development of relevant clinical practices or further research. Methods: We conducted a search on the Web of Science Core Collection database using the subject terms “pressure ulcers” or “pressure injuries” for the period from January 2002 to December 2021. Bibliometric tools such as CiteSpace (version 5.8.R3), VOS viewer (version 1.6.17) and the R software 4.0.3 were used to visualize and analyze annual publications, country, institution, author, keyword and cited literature. Results: We identified 5102 publications related to pressure ulcers during the 20-year period, including 4034 articles published in 1557 journals. The number of annual publications on the relevant topics has been increasing annually at an annual growth rate of 4.89 %. The keyword cluster analysis of these studies can be divided into four areas: epidemiology, risk assessment, caring intervention and prognostic analysis. Keyword temporal analysis revealed that the “Braden score” was the most commonly used keyword over a long-term span. The dissemination of knowledge and student training on pressure ulcers have become hot topics of research in recent years. Additionally, pressure ulcer care in COVID-19 patients has emerged as another research hotspot due to the pandemic. Conclusion: Bibliometric analyses have shown that there has been a steady increase in research on pressure ulcer care, with studies related to pressure ulcer risk scores accounting for a large portion of this research. In recent years, education on pressure ulcer-related knowledge and pressure ulcer care in COVID-19 patients have emerged as research hotspots. Future research on pressure ulcer care in the elderly may be a research hotspot as the aging population progresses.

Abstract Conductive polymer hydrogels (CPHs) are promising in cutting‐edge applications including bioelectronics and tissue engineering. However, the precise regulation of the spatial distribution of the conductive polymer (CP) in the hydrogel network is still an issue for designing a smart material. Herein, we propose a facile method for preparing CPH‐based smart materials by controlling the distribution of Fe3+ initiator with UV light irradiation. Thus, designable polypyrrole (PPy) conductive patterns in the polyvinyl alcohol/sodium alginate (PVA/SA) semi‐interpenetrating hydrogel network are demonstrated by controlling the concentration of Fe3+ ions coordinated with carboxylate groups. Depending on the irradiation time, the reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+ occurs in different extents. As a result, the controllable polymerization of pyrrole only initiated by Fe3+ is achieved to form desirable CPH patterns, which are confirmed by the characterization results of Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Moreover, the developed hydrogel with PPy patterns is illustrated for the application in smart conductive circuit and information encryption. The simple procedure and the controllable conductive patterning of the proposed method make it a promising route in developing smart hydrogel materials, which can be extended to other Fe3+ initiated CP patterns.

SignificanceSoil stands as the fundamental pillar of agricultural production, with its quality being intrinsically linked to the efficiency and sustainability of farming practices. Historically, the intensive cultivation and soil erosion have led to a marked deterioration in some arable lands, characterized by a sharp decrease in soil organic matter, diminished fertility, and a decline in soil's structural integrity and ecological functions. In the strategic framework of safeguarding national food security and advancing the frontiers of smart and precision agriculture, the march towards agricultural modernization continues apace, intensifying the imperative for meticulous soil quality management. Consequently, there is an urgent need for the rrapid acquisition of soil's physical and chemical parameters. Interdisciplinary scholars have delved into soil monitoring research, achieving notable advancements that promise to revolutionize the way we understand and manage soil resource.ProgressUtilizing the the Web of Science platform, a comprehensive literature search was conducted on the topic of "soil," further refined with supplementary keywords such as "electrochemistry", "spectroscopy", "electromagnetic", "ground-penetrating radar", and "satellite". The resulting literature was screened, synthesized, and imported into the CiteSpace visualization tool. A keyword emergence map was yielded, which delineates the trajectory of research in soil physical and chemical parameter detection technology. Analysis of the keyword emergence map reveals a paradigm shift in the acquisition of soil physical and chemical parameters, transitioning from conventional indoor chemical and spectrometry analyses to outdoor, real-time detection methods. Notably, soil sensors integrated into drones and satellites have garnered considerable interest. Additionally, emerging monitoring technologies, including biosensing and terahertz spectroscopy, have made their mark in recent years. Drawing from this analysis, the prevailing technologies for soil physical and chemical parameter information acquisition in agricultural fields have been categorized and summarized. These include: 1. Rapid Laboratory Testing Techniques: Primarily hinged on electrochemical and spectrometry analysis, these methods offer the dual benefits of time and resource efficiency alongside high precision; 2. Rapid Near-Ground Sensing Techniques: Leveraging electromagnetic induction, ground-penetrating radar, and various spectral sensors (multispectral, hyperspectral, and thermal infrared), these techniques are characterized by their high detection accuracy and swift operation. 3. Satellite Remote Sensing Techniques: Employing direct inversion, indirect inversion, and combined analysis methods, these approaches are prized for their efficiency and extensive coverage. 4. Innovative Rapid Acquisition Technologies: Stemming from interdisciplinary research, these include biosensing, environmental magnetism, terahertz spectroscopy, and gamma spectroscopy, each offering novel avenues for soil parameter detection. An in-depth examination and synthesis of the principles, applications, merits, and limitations of each technology have been provided. Moreover, a forward-looking perspective on the future trajectory of soil physical and chemical parameter acquisition technology has been offered, taking into account current research trends and hotspots.Conclusions and Prospects]Current advancements in the technology for rapaid acquiring soil physical and chemical parameters in agricultural fields have been commendable, yet certain challenges persist. The development of near-ground monitoring sensors is constrained by cost, and their reliability, adaptability, and specialization require enhancement to effectively contend with the intricate and varied conditions of farmland environments. Additionally, remote sensing inversion techniques are confronted with existing limitations in data acquisition, processing, and application. To further develop the soil physical and chemical parameter acquisition technology and foster the evolution of smart agriculture, future research could beneficially delve into the following four areas: Designing portable, intelligent, and cost-effective near-ground soil information acquisition systems and equipment to facilitate rapid on-site soil information detection; Enhancing the performance of low-altitude soil information acquisition platforms and refine the methods for data interpretation to ensure more accurate insights; Integrating multifactorial considerations to construct robust satellite remote sensing inversion models, leveraging diverse and open cloud computing platforms for in-depth data analysis and mining; Engaging in thorough research on the fusion of multi-source data in the acquisition of soil physical and chemical parameter information, developing soil information sensing algorithms and models with strong generalizability and high reliability to achieve rapaid, precise, and intelligent acquisition of soil parameters.

Objectives. Considerable research has been focused on independent predictors of difficult laryngeal exposure (DLE) during suspension laryngoscopy. However, previous studies have yielded inconsistent results and conclusions. Consequently, we performed a meta-analysis of the existing literature with the aim of identifying significant parameters for a standardized preoperative DLE prediction system. Methods. We systematically retrieved articles from the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang databases up to October 2022. Data from eligible studies were extracted and analyzed using the R programming language. The effect measures included odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for dichotomous variables and mean differences (MDs) with 95% CIs for continuous variables. Results. The search yielded 1,574 studies, of which 18 (involving a total of 2,263 patients) were included. Pooled analysis demonstrated that patients with DLE during microsurgery tended to be male (OR, 1.73; 95% CI, 1.16–2.57); were older (MD, 5.47 years, 95% CI, 2.44–8.51 years); had a higher body mass index (BMI; MD, 1.19 kg/m2; 95% CI, 0.33–2.05 kg/m2); had a greater neck circumference (MD, 2.50 cm; 95% CI, 1.56–3.44 cm); exhibited limited mouth opening (MD, −0.52 cm; 95% CI, −0.88 to −0.15 cm); had limited neck flexibility (MD, −10.05 cm; 95% CI, −14.10 to −6.00 cm); displayed various other anatomical characteristics; and had a high modified Mallampati index (MMI) or test score (OR, 3.37; 95% CI, 2.07–5.48). Conclusion. We conducted a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the factors relevant to DLE. Ultimately, we identified sex, age, BMI, neck circumference, MMI, inter-incisor gap, hyomental distance, thyromental distance, sternomental distance, and flexion-extension angle as factors highly correlated with DLE.

The aim of this study was to observe the remission of primary membranous nephropathy (PMN) and evaluate the efficacy of tacrolimus (TAC) monotherapy for PMN in comparison with TAC combined with a low-dose glucocorticoid (GC) protocol (TAC + GC).

【Objective】 Water and nitrogen are two most important factors affecting crop growth. Their acquisitions by crops interactively affect by each other. The purpose of this paper is to study the interactive effect of water-nitrogen coupling on development of summer maize during its key growing stages in seasonally arid areas in southwestern China. 【Method】 The experiment was conducted from June to October 2022 using lysimeters inside a rain-shelter at Dujiangyan Irrigation Experimental Station in Sichuan province. The variety Zhongyu No.3 was used as the model plant, and the control (CK) was irrigation of 100% of evapotranspiration (ET) combined with 300 kg/hm2 of nitrogen fertilization as used by local farmers. There were two irrigation treatments by irrigating 75% (HW) and 50% (LW) of the water used in the CK, and three nitrogen treatments by fertilizing 85% (N1), 70% (N2) and 55% (N3) of the fertilizer used in the CK at jointing-tasseling stage (Ⅱ) and tasseling-filling stage (Ⅲ), respectively. In each treatment, we measured the changes in growth, yield, water use efficiency (WUE) and nitrogen partial productivity (NPFP) of the maize at its key growing stages. The production function of the water and nitrogen was calculated using the Jensen model. 【Result】 The jointing-tasseling stage was the key stage for vegetative growth of the maize. A suitable water-nitrogen coupling can increase the yield, WUE and NPFP of the crop. Compared with CK, the combinations II+HW+N2, III+HW+N1 and III+HW+N2 saved 12.78%, 9.77% and 9.77% of water, and 9.0%, 4.5% and 9.0% of nitrogen, respectively, while increasing grain yield by 1.31%, 4.32% and 4.50%, WUE by 28.39%, 14.83% and 8.52%, and NPFP by 11.33%, 10.42% and 8.52% respectively. The water-nitrogen production function was well described by the Jensen model with the R2 being 0.761 9. The sensitivity index of water-nitrogen coupling at jointing-tasseling stage was 0.152, higher than 0.074 at the tasseling-filling stage. 【Conclusion】 Our results showed that the combinations II+ HW+N2 and III+ HW+N2 are optimal for maintaining high yield yet improving water and nitrogen use efficiency of the maize. They can be used as an improved irrigation and fertilization for maize production in the studied region and its periphery. The water-nitrogen production function is well described by the Jenson model.

Oxidative foam decontamination waste liquid could not be treated directly due to high levels of organic compounds. In order to solve this problem, Fenton oxidation method was applied for the first time to degrade organic compounds in foam decontamination waste liquid, which provided a new idea for the pretreatment. Fenton oxidation method and two-step combined degradation process were adopted. The effects of various process parameters on COD removal rate of foam decontamination waste liquid and the suitable operating conditions of each degradation process were explored in this study. The results show that under the suitable operating conditions of initial degradation, Fenton oxidation method can reduce the COD of waste liquid from (37 000±1 850) mg/L to (2 064±95) mg/L(n=3), with a COD removal rate of up to (94.40±0.54) %(n=3). However, the residual liquid with COD of (2 064±95) mg/L still do not meet the conditions of existing methods of waste liquid treatment. Under the suitable operating conditions of second degradation, Fenton-UV combined method can continue to reduce the COD of residual liquid from (2 064±95) mg/L to (478±12) mg/L, which meets the conditions of existing methods of waste liquid treatment. In conclusion, Fenton oxidation method and two-step combined degradation process are suitable for the pretreatment of oxidative foam decontamination waste liquid.

Abstract Root caries is a subtype of dental caries that predominantly impacts older adults. The occurrence and progression of root caries are associated with the homeostasis of dental plaque biofilm, and microbial synergistic and antagonistic interactions in the biofilm play a significant role in maintaining the oral microecological balance. The objective of the current study was to investigate the role of Veillonella parvula in the microbial interactions and the pathogenesis of root caries. The analysis of clinical samples from patients with/without root caries revealed that Veillonella and V. parvula were abundant in the saliva of patients with root caries. More importantly, a significantly increased colonization of V. parvula was observed in root carious lesions. Further in vitro biofilm and animal study showed that V. parvula colonization increased the abundance and virulence of Streptococcus mutans and Candida albicans, leading to the formation of a polymicrobial biofilm with enhanced anti‐stress capacity and cariogenicity, consequently exacerbating the severity of carious lesions. Our results indicate the critical role of V. parvula infection in the occurrence of root caries, providing a new insight for the etiological investigation and prevention of root caries.

Abstract The growth of newly formed particles through new particle formation (NPF) contributes a significant fraction to the cloud condensation nuclei, yet the driving mechanisms remain unclear, especially for polluted environments. To investigate the potential species contributing for nanoparticle growth in environments with significant anthropogenic influences, we measured the hygroscopicity of newly formed particles at 20–40 nm at a rural observational site in the North China Plain during winter 2018. Our results demonstrate that these particles were not very hygroscopic, with the mean hygroscopicity parameter κ of 0.13 ± 0.09. Clear differences in the inferred κ of the growing material responsible for the growth were observed among different events, indicating that even at the same region, the compounds driving particle growth may not be identical. This may be synergistically influenced by the NPF precursors, oxidants and meteorological conditions, suggesting complex mechanisms might co‐exist behind nanoparticle growth in polluted environments.

The temperature of the cable core and cable casing is crucial for the safety and efficiency of the transmission system. Accurately predicting the distribution and variation of the transmission temperature field in the gas insulated transmission lines (GIL) tunnel is essential to ensure the long GIL tunnel transmission system's safe and stable operation. This paper addresses the challenge of calculating unsteady heat transfer flow in extra-long GIL transmission tunnels. The paper proposes a model, and a rapid solution method for extra-long GIL transmission heat transfer flow. In addition, the temperature variation during the operation of 1000 kV GIL has been analyzed. The results indicated that the conductor and cable casing temperature gradually increases and tends to be relatively stable with the operation time. The research results can provide theoretical basis and data support for the regulation of GIL tunnel transmission operation.

Summary: Bone tissue represents the most frequent site of cancer metastasis. We developed a hemichannel-activating antibody, Cx43-M2. Cx43-M2, directly targeting osteocytes in situ, activates osteocytic hemichannels and elevates extracellular ATP, thereby inhibiting the growth and migration of cultured breast and osteosarcoma cancer cells. Cx43-M2 significantly decreases breast cancer metastasis, osteosarcoma growth, and osteolytic activity, while improving survival rates in mice. The antibody’s inhibition of breast cancer and osteosarcoma is dose dependent in both mouse and human cancer metastatic models. Furthermore, Cx43-M2 enhances anti-tumor immunity by increasing the population and activation of tumor-infiltrating immune-promoting effector T lymphocytes, while reducing immune-suppressive regulatory T cells. Our results suggest that the Cx43-M2 antibody, by activating Cx43 hemichannels and facilitating ATP release and purinergic signaling, transforms the cancer microenvironment from a supportive to a suppressive state. Collectively, our study underscores the potential of Cx43-M2 as a therapeutic for treating breast cancer bone metastasis and osteosarcoma.

Mortar thermal storage layers incorporating phase change material (PCM) can improve the thermal performance of radiant floors in buildings, reduce indoor temperature fluctuations and thus provide further savings in building heating energy consumption, offering great potential for the application of active thermal energy storage systems. This study combines slag cement and microencapsulated phase change materials as cementitious composites for heat storage mortars with the aim of determining the addition ratio of phase change materials in slag cement mortars, thereby expanding the practical application of PCM mortars in radiant floors. For this purpose, slag cement mortar blocks containing microencapsulated phase change materials were prepared to further evaluate their thermal and mechanical properties. This involves incorporating PCM particles from 0% to 15% and adjusting the water content during the initial mixing stages. The characterization results reveal that the inclusion of PCM particles in slag cement mortar significantly affects its thermal and mechanical properties. Notably, each 1% increment in PCM particles reduces bulk density, compressive strength, and thermal conductivity of the mortar by 2%, 24%, and 9%, respectively. SSC3 specimens (with a PCM ratio of 1.97 wt%) showed promising thermal and mechanical properties and could be a thermally enhanced building material for the design of thermal storage layers in radiant floor heating systems.

Summary: Transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) represents a well-established signal required for tissue-resident memory T cell (TRM) formation at intestinal surfaces, regulating the expression of a large collection of genes coordinately promoting intestinal TRM differentiation. The functional contribution from each TGF-β-controlled transcription factor is not entirely known. Here, we find that TGF-β-induced T-bet downregulation and Hic1 induction represent two critical events during intestinal TRM differentiation. Importantly, T-bet deficiency significantly rescues intestinal TRM formation in the absence of the TGF-β receptor. Hic1 induction further strengthens TRM maturation in the absence of TGF-β and T-bet. Our results reveal that provision of certain TGF-β-induced molecular events can partially replace TGF-β signaling to promote the establishment of intestinal TRMs, which allows the functional dissection of TGF-β-induced transcriptional targets and molecular mechanisms for TRM differentiation.

In compliance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses, we conducted this systemic review on the prevalence, mechanism, and therapy of sleep disorder in patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD). After searching PubMed and Embase, 78 articles were selected for this review. This review discusses the bidirectional relationship between CVD and sleep disorders. Sleep impairment is highly prevalent in patients with CVD and mainly involves insomnia and sleep-breathing disorders. Several valuable biomarkers could be implicated in predicting sleep disorders in CVD patients, such as placental growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor family, high sensitivity C-reactive protein, endoglin, fms-like tyrosine kinase-1, plasminogen activator inhibitor-1, erythropoietin. Moreover, non-drug therapies, namely physical exercise, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and continuous positive airway pressure benefit the prognosis of patients with CVD. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of sleep quality, which is responsible for long- and short-term cardiac outcomes in patients with CVD.

Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint application of Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis powder on promoting the recovery of gastrointestinal function after abdominal surgery. Methods Totally 60 patients undergoing abdominal surgery were randomly divided into the study group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received routine nursing after surgery, and those in the study were given acupoint application of Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis powder on Zusanli (ST36) in addition to routine nursing. The time to first passing gas and defecation after operation and the bowel sounds were compared between two groups. A self-made questionnaire was used evaluate patient’s satisfaction with nursing service. Results The time to recovery of bowel sounds, first passing gas and defecation after operation in the study group were shorter than those in the control group(P＜0. 01). The overall satisfaction rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P＜0. 01). Conclusion The acupoint application of Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis powder is effective to promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function and reduce the discomfort symptoms after abdominal surgery. (目的 探究中药厚朴粉足三里穴位贴敷促进腹部手术患者术后胃肠功能恢复的效果。方法 选取2022年7月—2023年7月医院收治的行腹部手术的60例患者为研究对象, 随机分为研究组和对照组, 各30例。对照组接受常规术后护理, 研究组在对照组基础上开展穴位贴敷治疗。对比两组患者肠鸣音恢复时间、首次排气和排便时间, 评价护理满意度。结果 研究组患者术后首次排气时间、排便时间、肠鸣音恢复时间均较对照组患者缩短, 差异有统计学意义(P＜0. 01)。研究组总满意率高于对照组, 差异有统计学意义(P＜0. 01)。结论 厚朴粉足三里穴位贴敷可有效促进腹部手术患者术后胃肠功能的恢复, 减少术后不适症状。)

In order to investigate the influence of impact tendency on dynamic fracture characteristics of coal, cyclic loading and unloading tests with variable upper limit and dynamic and static type I dynamic fracture tests are carried out on three types of coal. The test results show that there is an approximate linear function relationship between strain energy Un e and input energy Un in in the cyclic loading and unloading process of three types of coal, and the unified expression formula is Un e =1.032Un in−5.536; the residual elastic energy index CEF of the above three types of coal is 25.35, 30.34 and 33.26 kJ/m3, respectively. The KIC values of the static type I fracture toughness of the above three types of coal mass are respectively 0.249, 0.291 and 0.347 MPa•m1/2 through the three-point bending test of the single-side notched beam, and the dynamic KIC values under the impact load are respectively 0.344, 0.416, 0.527 MPa•m1/2. With the increase of CEF, the growth ratio of coal dynamic KIC increases gradually, indicating that the impact tendency of coal will directly affect its dynamic fracture mechanical response. The greater the impact tendency of coal, the more the dynamic fracture parameters increase. In addition, with the increase of the impact tendency of coal, the fractal dimension of coal crushing under dynamic load increases, indicating that the fracture disintegration of coal under impact becomes more complex and the dynamic fracture response becomes more significant.

Abstract Background Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neurotoxicity (CIPN) is the most common adverse effect in patients undergoing chemotherapy, and no effective interventions are currently available for its prevention and treatment. Non-pharmacological therapies appear to be beneficial for the prevention and treatment of CIPN, but it remains unclear which therapy is most effective. The aim of this study was to identify the most effective non-pharmacological therapy for CIPN patients. Methods PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library were searched for randomized controlled trials on non-pharmacological therapies for CIPN. The primary outcomes included pain and peripheral neuropathological symptoms, and the secondary outcomes included quality of life, sensory and motor symptoms. The pairwise analysis and a network meta-analysis were performed using a random effects model. Results A total of 46 articles were included in this study, involving 2,878 participants. Our study showed that massage was more effective in pain-alleviating compared with acupuncture [SMD = 0.81, 95%CI (0.04, 1.57)], vitamin and gabapentin [SMD = 2.56, 95%CI (1.39, 3.74)], and usual care and placebo [SMD = 0.9, 95%CI (0.31, 1.49)]. As for attenuating peripheral neuropathological symptoms, massage was more effective than usual care and placebo [SMD = 0.75, 95%CI (0.33, 1.17)], sensorimotor training [SMD = 1.17, 95%CI (0.24, 2.10)], electrostimulation [SMD=-1.18, 95%CI (-2.14, -0.21)], multimodal exercise [SMD=-0.82, 95%CI (-1.57, -0.08)], and resistance training [SMD = 1.03, 95%CI (0.11, 1.95)]. Massage was also more effective than other non-pharmacological therapies in improving quality of life, sensory and motor symptoms. Conclusions According to our study, massage has advantages in alleviating pain, improving quality of life, and improving peripheral neuropathological symptoms and has better effect than other non-pharmacological interventions, representing certain clinical significance. However, the results of this study should be interpreted with caution due to the limitations of the included studies. In the future, more high-quality multi arm randomized controlled trials can be attempted to provide direct comparisons of the relative effects of non-pharmacological interventions.

The X-ray satellite “Einstein Probe” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was successfully launched on 9 January 2024 at 15:03 Beijing Time from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China with a “Long March-2C” rocket. The Einstein Probe is equipped with two scientific X-ray telescopes. One is the Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT), which uses lobster-eye optics. The other is the Follow-up X-ray Telescope (FXT), a Wolter-I type telescope. These telescopes are designed to study the universe for high-energy X-rays associated with transient high-energy phenomena. The FXT consists of two modules based on 54 thin X-ray Wolter-I grazing incidence Ni-replicated mirrors produced by the Italian Media Lario company, as contributions from the European Space Agency and the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE), which also provided the focal-plane detectors. Meanwhile, the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), together with the Harbin Institute of Technology and Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, has also completed the development and production of the structural and thermal model (STM), qualification model (QM) and flight model (FM) of FXT mirrors for the Einstein Probe (EP) satellites for demonstration purposes. This paper introduces the precision manufacturing adopted in China of Wolter-I X-ray mirror mandrels similar to those used for the EP-FXT payload. Moreover, the adopted electroformed nickel replication process, based on a chemical nickel–phosphorus alloy, is reported. The final results show that the surface of the produced mandrels after demolding and the internal surface of the mirrors have been super polished to the roughness level better than 0.3 nm RMS and the surface accuracy is better than 0.2 μm, and the mirror angular resolution for single mirror shells may be as good as 17.3 arcsec HPD (Half Power Diameter), 198 arcsec W90 (90% Energy Width) @1.49 keV (Al-K line). These results demonstrate the reliability and advancement of the process. As the first efficient X-ray-focusing optics manufacturing chain established in China, we successfully developed the first focusing mirror prototype that could be used for future X-ray satellite payloads.

Crack growth analysis is essential for probabilistic damage tolerance assessment of aeroengine life-limited parts. Traditional crack growth models directly establish the stress ratio–crack growth rate or crack opening stress relationship and focus less on changes in the crack tip stress field and its influence, so the resolution and accuracy of maneuvering flight load spectral analysis are limited. To improve the accuracy and convenience of analysis, a parameter considering the effect of unloading amount on crack propagation resistance is proposed, and the corresponding analytical model is established. The corresponding process for acquiring the model parameters through the constant amplitude test data of a Ti-6AL-4V compact tension specimen is presented. Six kinds of flight load spectra with inserted load pairs with different stress ratios and repetition times are tested to verify the accuracy of the proposed model. All the deviations between the proposed model and test life results are less than 10%, which demonstrates the superiority of the proposed model over the crack closure and Walker-based models in addressing relevant loading spectra. The proposed analytical model provides new insights for the safety of aeroengine life-limited parts.

The vibroflotation construction is a significant measure for foundation improvement in hydropower engineering. Currently, vibro-stone columns are still constructed manually. The construction process relies mainly on the experience and responsibility of workers, which has the shortcomings of low precision in pile formation control and low degree of automation, leading to problems such as uneven pile formation, high labor intensity, and poor pile quality. This study proposes an intelligent vibroflotation control model (iVCM) based on the analysis of the pile formation mechanism and former experiences. Intelligent control of vibroflotation construction is realized through intelligent control of the vibrator current, rope pull, filler amount, and vibrator depth. A crane-type intelligent vibroflotation control system was developed to realize one-button intelligent control of pile formation. Its application in Yingliangbao Hydropower Station shows that the intelligent vibroflotation control system can regulate the construction operation of the pile formation process, improve the vibroflotation quality, reduce labor intensity, and have prospects for applicability in similar projects.

The process of microwave heating involves the coupling of multiple physical phenomena, specifically including the distribution of the electromagnetic field in the resonant cavity. The electromagnetic effect generates heat and encourages the transfer of heat inside the material. In this numerical study, a 3D computer model of microwave heating of Al2O3/SiC composites using a multimode microwave heating chamber was established based on the simulation software COMSOL Multiphysics 5.6, and the symmetry treatment of the model was carried out, which effectively reduced the amount of model calculations and accurately analyzed the microwave heating characteristics of the samples. The analysis of the microwave heating characteristics of the sample was mainly preformed from the perspective of the electric field distribution in the resonant cavity, the sample heating rate and the sample heating uniformity, and then it was determined how the microwave source power and sample mold selection affect the temperature and electric field parameters of the sample. After experimental verification, the error between the simulation results and the temperature parameters obtained from the actual experiments is less than 2%. This study contributes to further understanding the heating behavior of Al2O3/SiC composites in complex multimode microwave heating environments and can be used to control the dynamic parameters during microwave heating in order to improve the heating rate and heating uniformity of samples.

Phase change energy storage technology enhances the integration of renewable resources into low-carbon energy systems for grassland pastoral settlements, further addressing the balance between energy needs and environmental sustainability. This study examines a heating system using an experimental platform in an environmental chamber, where the thermal storage and release processes of phase change energy storage flooring were monitored. The results revealed that phase change energy storage flooring exhibits higher heat transfer efficiency and faster heating rates. Under 40 °C heating conditions, the heating rate of the thermal storage layer increased by 12.5% within 1 h. The flooring also demonstrated superior heat release performance, with the peak heat flux of the thermal storage layer delayed by 15 min. Higher heating temperatures shortened the heating time and extended the heat release duration of the phase change energy storage flooring. Under 45 °C heating conditions, the heat transfer efficiency of the surface temperature of the thermal storage layer increased by 38% within 1 hour and by 24.7% over 4 h. In addition, energy consumption in different tests was analyzed, and thermal conductivity was discussed according to the heat transfer model. Phase change energy storage flooring, when coupled with the abundant solar energy resources available in grassland pastoral areas, presents a viable option for the construction of low-carbon energy systems in grassland pastoral settlements.

(1) Background: With the increasing aesthetic pursuit of facial features, the clinical use of Botulinum Toxin Type A (BoNT-A) injections for masseter hypertrophy has been on the rise. However, due to variations in masseter muscle structure and differences in clinicians’ injection techniques, blind injections may lack precision, potentially compromising treatment accuracy and increasing the risk of complications. (2) Objectives: The study aims to use ultrasonography to detail the deep inferior tendon (DIT) within the masseter muscle in a young Chinese cohort, refine its classification, analyze muscle belly thickness and variations across groups, and propose a customized ultrasound-guided BoNT-A injection protocol. (3) Methods: Ultrasound imaging was used to observe the bilateral masseter muscles at rest and during clenching. The features of the DIT were classified from these images, and the thickness of the masseter’s distinct bellies associated with the DIT types was measured in both states. (4) Results: The study cohort included 103 participants (27 male, 76 female), with 30 muscles in the normal masseter group and 176 muscles in the hypertrophy group. The DIT was categorized as Type A, B (subtypes B1, B2), and C. The distribution of these types was consistent across normal, hypertrophic, and gender groups, all following the same trend (B > A > C). In hypertrophy, Type B1 showed uniform thickness across masseter bellies, B2 presented with a thinner intermediate belly, and Type C had mainly superficial muscle enlargement. Changes in muscle thickness during clenching were noted but not statistically significant among different bellies. (5) Conclusions: The study evidences individual variation in the DIT, highlighting the importance of precise DIT classification for effective BoNT-A injections. A tailored ultrasound-guided BoNT-A injection strategy based on this classification may enhance safety and efficacy of the therapy.

The variation in volatiles, bacteria and metabolites of Tibetan yak cheese (TYC) from different altitudes were characterized with multi-omics to reveal the formation mechanism of characteristic volatile compounds (C-VOCs) in TYC induced by altitudes. 22C-VOCs (odor activity value, OAV > 1) were identified in TYCs, and hexanal, dodecanol, 2,3-butanediol, butyl isobutyate, etc., C-VOCs were confirmed induced by altitude. Lactobacillus, Kocuria, etc., bacteria and benzyl thiocyanate, trehalose, sarcosine, etc., metabolites were screened as the variable bacteria and metabolites for TYCs regulated by altitude, respectively. Pediococcus and carbonhydrates maybe the main contributors for the formation of C-VOCs in TYCs induced by altitudes. The formation of dodecanol, 2,3-butanediol and hexanal maybe derived from sarcosine and EPA, and the generation of butyl isobutyrates maybe originated from 1,6-DP-fructose and threonic acid facilitating by Pediococcus. This research will help us gain insight into the contribution of altitude to the formation of volatiles in TYCs.

Objectives This meta-analysis aimed to explore the association between inflammatory factors, heart rate variability (HRV) and the coexistence of coronary heart disease (CHD) and depression.Design Systematic review and meta-analysis. Complying with the Meta-analysis Of Observational Studies in Epidemiology statement.Data sources We searched PubMed, Web of Science and EMBASE for the data from the inception date to 16 March 2023.Eligibility criteria We included cross-sectional and cohort studies with inclusion criteria: (1) patients with CHD; (2) depression measurement and (3) including inflammatory factors or cardiac biomarkers or HRV.Data extraction and synthesis Two authors searched the databases independently. The effect estimates and heterogeneity were synthesised by Review Manager V.5.3. Sensitivity analysis and publication bias were analysed by STATA software. The quantitative synthesis outcomes were presented by mean difference (MD) or standard MD (SMD) with 95% CI.Results By searching the databases, we identified a total of 6750 articles. There were 22 articles left after selection, including 6344 participants. This meta-analysis indicated that patients with CHD with depression had higher levels of C reaction protein (CRP) (SMD 0.50, 95% CI (0.19 to 0.81), p=0.001), high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP) (SMD 0.28, 95% CI (0.07 to 0.48), p=0.008), IL-6 (SMD 0.49, 95% CI (0.05 to 0.92), p=0.03) and a lower level of the mean RR interval and the SD of all RR intervals (SMD −0.64, 95% CI (−1.11 to –0.17), p=0.008), SD of the 5 min averages of all normal RR intervals (MD −12.77 ms, 95% CI (–21.20 to –4.33), p=0.003), overage of the SD of all normal RR intervals for each 5 min segment (MD −13.83 ms, 95% CI (–15.94 to –11.72), p50 ms (pNN50) (SMD −0.86, 95% CI (−1.41 to –0.31), p=0.002), than those without depression.Conclusions This study underscores the association between elevated CRP, hs-CRP, IL-6 and lower HRV in patients with CHD with depression. It emphasises the importance of clinicians assessing CRP, hs-CRP, IL-6 and HRV in patients with CHD to potentially identify depressive conditions.

Allocation of water resources is an interesting research topic and one of the main challenges of arid regions. From the point of view of agriculture, this issue is closely related to ecological balance, economic development and social stability. Therefore, fair, efficient and sustainable allocation of water resources for users and decision-making is essential. This paper presents a dynamic stochastic programming model that predicts soil moisture content in a growing season based on data collected from an experimental farm. The model included three types of loam soil, silt loam and clay loam with three treatments of irrigation intervals of 3, 7, 10 and 14 days and three amounts of water allocation with three replications. The proposed framework was evaluated with two criteria of spatial and temporal equity, and the optimal water allocation was analyzed based on this criterion. The results showed that the criterion of temporal equity for loam soil with 7-day irrigation intervals is more than twice that of 14-day irrigation intervals. In addition, the depth of irrigation has had the greatest impact on the fluctuations of the criterion of equity in water allocation in the growing season. Probabilistic damage tolerance is a critical method to understand and communicate risk and safety. This paper reviews recent research on the probabilistic damage tolerance design for life-limited parts. The vision of the probabilistic damage tolerance assessment is provided. Five core parts of the probabilistic damage tolerance method are introduced separately, including the anomaly distribution, stress processing and zone definition, fatigue and fracture calculation method, probability of failure (POF) calculation method, and the combination with residual stress induced by the manufacturing process. The above currently-available risk assessment methods provide practical tools for failure risk predictions and are applied by the airworthiness regulations. However, new problems are exposed with the development of the aero-engines. The time-consuming anomaly distribution derivation process restricts the development of the anomaly distribution, especially for the developing aviation industries with little empirical data. Additionally, the strong transient characteristic is prominent because of the significant temperature differences during the take-off and climbing periods. The complex loads then challenge the fatigue and fracture calculation model. Besides, high computational efficiency is required because various variables are considered to calculate the POF. Therefore, new technologies for the probabilistic damage tolerance assessment are provided, including the efficient anomaly distribution acquisition method based on small samples, the zone definition method considering transient process, and stress intensity factor (SIF) solutions under arbitrary stress distributions combined with the machine learning method. Then, an efficient numerical integration method for calculating failure risk based on the probability density evolution theory is proposed. Meanwhile, the influence of the manufacturing process on residual stress and the failure risk of the rotors is explored. The development of the probabilistic damage tolerance method can meet the requirement of the published airworthiness regulation Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 33.70 and guide the modification or amendment of new regulations to ensure the safety of the high-energy rotors.

On 26 June 2023, a catastrophic debris flow occurred in the Banzi Catchment in Wenchuan county of Sichuan province. This debris flow event is a viscous debris flow triggered by short duration heavy rainfall. The volume of debris which transported out of the catchment by debris flow is more than 8.3×105 m3, and the debris flow blocked the Minjiang River. The river blockage formed a barrier lake with an area of about 0.4 km2. To reveal the formation mechanism of the occurrence of the extremely large debris flow events 15 years after the Wenchuan earthquake, This paper adopts a comprehensive method of field investigation, image interpretation, topographic superposition and calculation of forced vortex. This paper also analyzes the formation mechanism of debris flow and the characteristics of river blocking. Based on the results, this paper gives some suggestions of investigation and prevention of debris flow in the Banzi catchment. The research results show that (1) the triggering rainfall is characterized by short duration and high intensity. The main initiation positions are in the channel. The main debris supply is from the debris deposition along the channel. (2) The peak discharge of debris flow is as high as 755.5 m3/s, which is the main cause of river blockage. (3) Since the Wenchuan earthquake, the debris flow activity of the Banzi Catchment has the characteristics of lag and long-term because of the coupled transport of debris on the slope and along the channel. (4) The volume of the debris source which can be eroded along the channel should be paid more attention in subsequent investigation and prevention. The research results are helpful in better understanding of the activity evolution of the post-seismic debris flow. They can also provide scientific references for the prevention of the post-seismic debris flow..

In the context of ecological sustainability, this study focuses on the effect of variables of pasture fibers on the thermal properties of slag bricks made from a green recyclable material. This experiment uses slag as the binder, sand as the aggregate, and pasture fiber as an additive. The experimental variables include the additive content ratio of the pasture fiber, the size of the pasture fiber, and the type of pasture fiber. Significance analysis of the experimental results of the thermal performance tests is carried out using Minitab 18.1.0 software, and the optimal ratios for the thermal performance of the composite samples are derived from the response optimizer and conformity analysis. The results of the experiment’s test analysis using Minitab 18 software indicate that, with an increase in pasture fiber content, the thermal performance of the composite samples initially decreases before increasing. Additionally, the lower the thermal conductivity of the composite sample, the lower the apparent density and the higher the porosity. Incorporating pasture fibers into slag bricks, as revealed in this study, reduces the waste of pasture resources in pastoral areas and promotes the development of sustainable building materials with favorable thermal properties.

The microwave heating process will involve a variety of physical phenomena, including the distribution of the electromagnetic field in the heating cavity, the heat generated by electromagnetic loss, and the transfer of heat inside the material during heating. In this paper, the simulation software COMSOL Multiphysics 5.6 based on the finite element analysis method is used to establish the microwave heating model of Al2O3/SiC composites and design the pinning structure of the experimental furnace for multi-mode microwave heating. From the uniformity of microwave heating of the sample and the coupling with microwave, the heating characteristics of the sample with different pin spacing, pin radius, and pin insertion depth were simulated and analyzed. This pin structure design can be used to control the heating conditions of Al2O3/SiC composites in microwave heating ovens to meet industrial requirements.

Abstract Cutaneous wound healing, an integral part for protection of skin barrier, is a complex biological process and intimately associated with keratinocyte migration. However, mechanisms regulating keratinocyte migration in the process of cutaneous wound repair remain largely unknown. Here, we found that N-acetyltransferase 10 (NAT10) is essential for cutaneous wound repair in an in vivo skin wound healing model—a significant delay of wound repair in Nat10 haploinsufficient mice and a remarkable inhibition of keratinocyte migration by NAT10 knockdown in an in vitro keratinocyte migration model. We further demonstrate that loss of NAT10 expression attenuates the wound-induced IL-6/IL-8 expression through inhibiting NF-κB/p65 activity in keratinocytes. By deeply digging, silencing NAT10 compromises the level of nuclear p65 by facilitating its poly-ubiquitination, thus accelerates its degradation in the nucleus. Notably, we detected a strong positive correlation between the expression of NAT10 and relevant NF-kB/p65-IL6 signaling activity in mouse wound skin tissues. Overall, our study reveals an important role of NAT10 on cutaneous wound repair by potentiating NF-κB/p65-IL-6/8-STAT3 signaling. Targeting NAT10 might be a potential strategy for the treatment of skin wound dysfunctions and related diseases.

Abstract Background Previously, we identified an oncogenic splicing variant of DOCK5 in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC); however, the mechanism for the generation of this specific DOCK5 variant remains unknown. This study aims to explore the potential spliceosome genes involved in the production of the DOCK5 variant and validate its role in regulating the progression of HNSCC. Methods The differentially expressed spliceosome genes involved in the DOCK5 variant were analysed in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and the correlation between the DOCK5 variant and the potential spliceosome gene PHF5A was verified by qRT-PCR. The expression of PHF5A was detected in HNSCC cells, TCGA data and a separate primary tumour cohort. The functional role of PHF5A was examined using CCK-8, colony formation, cell scratch and Transwell invasion assays in vitro and validated in vivo in xenograft models of HNSCC. Western blot analysis was used to explore the potential mechanism of PHF5A in HNSCC. Results PHF5A was one of the top upregulated spliceosome genes in TCGA HNSCC samples with highly expressed DOCK5 variants. Knockdown or overexpression of PHF5A in HNSCC cells correspondingly altered the level of the DOCK5 variant. PHF5A was highly expressed in tumour cells and tissues and correlated with a worse prognosis of HNSCC. Loss- and gain-of-function experiments demonstrated that PHF5A could promote the proliferation, migration and invasion of HNSCC cells in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, PHF5A inhibition reversed the oncogenic effect of the DOCK5 variant in HNSCC. Western blot analysis showed that PHF5A activated the p38 MAPK pathway, and inhibition of p38 MAPK further reversed the effect of PHF5A on the proliferation, migration and invasion of HNSCC cells. Conclusion PHF5A regulates the alternative splicing of DOCK5 to promote HNSCC progression through p38 MAPK activation, which provides potential therapeutic implications for HNSCC patients.

Abstract Background Even though chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) can be well controlled in the acute phase, the incidence of delayed CINV remains high. In this study, we intend to investigate whether prolonged use of NK-1 receptor antagonist (RA) in addition to 5-HT3 RA and dexamethasone (DEX) was more effective in preventing delayed CINV. Methods This randomised, open-label, controlled study was designed to compare the efficacy and safety of fosaprepitant 150 mg given on days 1,3 (prolonged group) versus on day 1 (regular group) in patients receiving highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC). All patients also treated with palonosetron on day 1 and DEX on days 1–3. The primary endpoint was the incidence of delayed nausea and vomiting. The second endpoint was AEs. All the above endpoints were defined according to CTCAE 5.0. Results Seventy-seven patients were randomly assigned to prolonged group and seventy-nine to regular group. Prolonged group demonstrated superiority in controlling delayed CINV to regular group, with statistically significant lower incidence of nausea (6.17% vs 12.66%, P = 0.0056), and slightly lower incidence of grade 1 vomiting (1.62% vs 3.80%, P = 0.0953) in the delayed phase. In addition, prolonged use of fosaprepitant was safe. No significant difference was found between the two groups regarding constipation, diarrhea, hiccough, fatigue, palpitation and headache in delayed phase. Conclusions Prolonged use of fosaprepitant can effectively and safely prevent delayed CINV in patients receiving HEC.

Abstract Secondary vocational education faces constant challenges such as the absence of higher quality, industrial structure upgrading, and a mismatch between the supply of skills and the needs of a specific industry. Therefore, investigating the relationship between the structures of secondary vocational school (SVS) programmes and industries can help us understand their positive interactions and reduce skill mismatch, which is of great significance to the strategies of secondary vocational education and sustainable economic development. Studies on the interactive relationship between SVS programmes and industries and the use of quantitative methods are still lacking. To address this research gap, this paper uses the perspective of coupling and coordination to build a conceptual framework and a computation model to measure the relationship between the two. The method of grey relational analysis is utilized to explore the influencing factors between indicators of SVS programmes and the coupling coordination degree(CCD). Using data from Tianjin, China, the findings are as follows: The interaction between the structure of the SVS programme and industries shows that with the increase in the contribution of the SVS programme structure to the coupling system, the CCD between the two also increases. Compared with the primary and tertiary industries, the secondary industrial structure is more closely related to the SVS programme’s structure, the interaction between the two has a high degree of influence, and the correlation is relatively high between the indicators of secondary industry programmes in SVSs and the CCD. It is necessary to adjust the number of programmes, increase the number of students in the secondary-industry-related programmes and reduce the number of students in the programmes of the primary and tertiary industries to adapt to the needs of a dynamic industrial structure gradually. SVSs should improve programmes in primary and tertiary industries to enhance students’ skills, prepare them for a competitive labour market and strengthen students’ transition from school to work. This study found that the coupling coordination relationship between the two is affected by the following crucial factors: interaction between the two, the contribution of the programme’s structure, regional featured or key industries, and changes in admission policies by the local education authority.

Coastal wetlands play an irreplaceable role in the global ecosystem, and both human activities and natural factors may lead to the contamination of Tiaozini coastal wetland with heavy metals. The study was conducted to determine the contents of eight heavy metals, Hg, Cd, Cr, As, Pb, Cu, Ni, and Zn, in the above-ground and below-ground parts of the plants and in the rhizosphere sediment, using the invasive species S. alterniflora and the native plant S. glauca, calculating the geoaccumulation index (Igeo), bioaccumulation factor, transfer factor, total target risk quotient (TTHQ), and carcinogenicity risk (CR), to analyze the transfer characteristics and potential health risks to human beings of the heavy metals in plants. This study aims to investigate the enrichment characteristics of the dominant plant, S. alterniflora Loisel. (S. alterniflora) and Suaeda salsa (L.) Pall. (S. glauca). Regarding heavy metals, eight common heavy metal elements were selected, including Hg, Cd, Cr, As, Pb, Cu, Ni, and Zn, and examined their content in surface sediments and different parts of the two plants. The transfer characteristics of heavy metals in the plant body and their potential health risks to humans were also analyzed. These findings suggest that both plants accumulate higher concentrations of heavy metals in their below-ground parts. Cr, Cu, and Zn had the highest average concentrations in both plants. Geoaccumulation index (Igeo) indicated that the Tiaozini Wetland is not yet contaminated. S. alterniflora had transfer factors less than 1 for all heavy metals, while S. glauca had transfer factors greater than 1. Both plants had a certain purifying effect on heavy metal pollution in wetlands, including Cr, Cd, Cu, and Zn. However, Cr and As in the below-ground part of S. alterniflora and Cr in the above-ground part of S. glauca had a target hazard quotient (THQ) greater than 1, indicating a potential health risk to humans, but the carcinogenic risk is low. For other heavy metals, THQ was less than 1, indicating no health risk. The total target hazard quotient (TTHQ) of different parts of both plants was greater than 1, which must be taken into account when considering their suitability as edible resources.

Physical education occupies a very important position in university programs. Cultivating students’ physical fitness and comprehensive ability is the important significance of the existence and development of university sports. In this paper, after collecting and processing data related to students’ physical fitness tests, the K-means clustering algorithm is improved to cluster and analyze the physical fitness data of different students. Then, the FP-growth algorithm based on association rules mines the relationship between the physical fitness indicators of different groups of students, obtains the optimization strategy of physical education teaching, and introduces the logistic regression model to analyze the correlation relationship between the physical education teaching strategy based on big data optimization and students’ physical fitness. The results showed that whether the 20m round-trip running (students’ speed) was qualified or not was positively correlated with the frequency of application of physical education teaching strategies (sometimes used, not used, or occasionally used) (OR values of 1.49 and 2.12, respectively, with p-values less than 0.05) and that it was conducive to promoting the normal development of college students’ physique and physical fitness through the application of physical education teaching strategies.

The CRISPR–Cas13 system has emerged as a revolutionary tool for RNA editing, offering new opportunities for the development of nucleic acid therapeutics. Unlike DNA-targeting CRISPR–Cas9, Cas13 targets and cleaves RNA, enabling gene silencing and preventing genomic instability. Its applications include suppressing disease-causing genes, correcting splicing errors, and modulating immune responses. Despite these advances, challenges persist, such as the need to refine specificity, mitigate off-target impacts, and ensure effective delivery. This review provides an overview of the CRISPR–Cas13 mechanism, elucidating its role in RNA-targeted therapies and its transformative potential for disease treatment. Furthermore, it addresses the ongoing challenges that the scientific community is striving to overcome.

The development of digital economy is a strategic choice to grasp the revolution of new science and technology and the new opportunities of industrial reform. The development of digital economy depends on the good support of policy and theoretical system. Therefore, the quantitative evaluation of policy texts provides the basis of decision-making and the suggestions of path optimization for the formulation and improvement of digital economy policy of China. By selecting the text of digital economy policy issued by China government, the paper constructs a quantitative evaluation model of digital economy policy using the methods of content analysis and text mining. The empirical research results show that the overall design evaluation of the selected policy is relatively reasonable. Six policies were evaluated as excellent and two as acceptable. In view of the problems such as lack of predictive policy in the policy type, lack of specific policy in the policy timeliness, imbalance in the use of policy guarantee, and lack of comprehensive coverage in the policy objectives, the paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.

Myocardial ischemia may induce myocardial fibrosis, a condition that progressively leads to ventricular remodeling, heightening the risk of heart failure. The timely detection of myocardial fibrosis is crucial for intervention and improved outcomes. 68Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT shows promise in assessing fibroblast activation in patients with early myocardial infarction characterized by prolonged myocardial ischemia. However, there is a notable absence of data regarding patients with short-term myocardial ischemia, such as those experiencing unstable angina (UA). In this report, we evaluated a 49-year-old male with UA and severe stenosis in multiple coronary arteries using 68Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT. The results demonstrated tracer-specific uptake (SUVmax = 4.6) in the left anterior descending artery (LAD) territory, consistent with myocardial anterior wall ischemia indicated by the electrocardiogram. Following vascular recanalization therapy and regular medication treatment, the patient remained free of angina recurrence. A subsequent review at 2 months revealed a significant reduction in myocardial tracer uptake (SUVmax = 1.8). This case illustrates the validity of 68Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT in assessing the extent of early myocardial fibroblast activation in patients with UA. This approach offers valuable insights for early detection and visual evidence, providing information on disease progression and treatment response.

Abstract Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which encompasses ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), refers to a chronic and recurrent nonspecific inflammatory condition affecting the mucosal and submucosal layers of the intestines. A positive family history has been identified as a risk factor for the onset of IBD, likely influenced by genetic and environmental factors. In addition to intestinal damage, patients may have extraintestinal manifestations such as inflammation of the skin, eyes, and joints, inflammation of the liver or bile ducts, kidney stones, iron‐deficiency anemia, and growth retardation in children, which may complicate diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, investigating the mechanisms of IBD and finding precise therapeutic targets provides enormous benefits to patients with IBD. Multiple studies have consistently demonstrated the influential role of dietary metabolism and aging in the development of IBD. Moreover, emerging evidence suggests that aging often coincides with alterations in epigenetic modifications, while diet metabolism mediates these epigenetic changes. Epigenetics has emerged as a prospective field for identifying novel biomarkers to facilitate the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of diseases. Therefore, in this perspective, we summarize the cross‐talk between epigenetic modifications, diet metabolism, and aging in the pathogenesis of IBD and attempt to identify new potential therapeutic targets and strategies.
