Abstract

This article proposes a nonlinear mental health evaluation model after combining the nonlinear finite element equation with the mental health education of teachers in colleges and universities. We take the “self-concept” in psychology as an order parameter to judge mental health. At the same time, logical thinking is used to guide college teachers to rethink the process of their psychological activities. Research has found that the nature of human psychology is nonlinear. It is feasible to use nonlinear analysis methods to improve the status quo of original data analysis in psychological and behavioral control research.

Abstract

This paper proposes a mixed-mode (combining shear and squeeze working modes) vibration isolator using magnetorheological elastomer (MRE), which enables the isolator to have a larger working area and better isolation performance by combining the working modes of the MRE. Firstly, based on the magnetorheological effect working principle of the MRE, the material selection and dimensional parameters of each component are determined through structural design and magnetic circuit calculation. On this basis, magnetic field simulation is conducted using Maxwell 16.0 software to analyze the distribution of magnetic field lines and magnetic induction in the working area. Simultaneously, equivalent stiffness and equivalent damping models are established to explore the variation of vibration response with external current and excitation frequency conditions. Finally, a vibration isolation experimental platform is built to test the mixed-mode MRE isolator. The experimental results are basically consistent with the simulation modeling results. The experimental results showed that when the external excitation is in the frequency range of 16 Hz, effective semi-active vibration isolation control could be achieved by applying different current inputs. The isolation effect of the system is difficult to effectively control using current input when the external excitation is at high frequency. These results validate the rationality and feasibility of the mixed-mode MRE isolator structure, which provides a good reference for the design of MRE isolators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Results from observational studies examining dyslipidemia as a risk factor for diabetic retinopathy (DR) have been inconsistent. We evaluated the causal relationship between plasma lipids and DR using a Mendelian randomization approach. We pooled genome-wide association studies summary statistics from 18 studies for two DR phenotypes: any DR (N = 2,969 case and 4,096 control subjects) and severe DR (N = 1,277 case and 3,980 control subjects). Previously identified lipid-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms served as instrumental variables. Meta-analysis to combine the Mendelian randomization estimates from different cohorts was conducted. There was no statistically significant change in odds ratios of having any DR or severe DR for any of the lipid fractions in the primary analysis that used single nucleotide polymorphisms that did not have a pleiotropic effect on another lipid fraction. Similarly, there was no significant association in the Caucasian and Chinese subgroup analyses. This study did not show evidence of a causal role of the four lipid fractions on DR. However, the study had limited power to detect odds ratios less than 1.23 per SD in genetically induced increase in plasma lipid levels, thus we cannot exclude that causal relationships with more modest effect sizes exist.

Large-scale meta-analyses of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified >175 loci associated with fasting cholesterol levels, including total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and triglycerides (TG). 41. Effect of Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 on Proliferation and Apoptosis of Gastric Cancer Cells

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) on the proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis of normal human gastric mucosal cells and gastric cancer cells.Methods: Poorly differentiated gastric cancer BGC823 cells, moderately differentiated gastric cancer cells and normal human gastric mucosal epithelial GES-1 cells were independently treated with recombinant human BMP-2 or its inhibitor Noggin. MTT assay was performed to detect the proliferation, flow cytometry done to measure the cell cycle and apoptosis and immunohistochemistry carried out to determine the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4).Results: BMP-2 exerted inhibitory effect on the growth of all types of cells and the inhibition become more evident with the increase of BMP-2 dose. After treatment with 200 ng/ml BMP-2, cancer cells arrested in G1 phase and those in S phase reduced. Gastric cancer cells had higher CDK4 expression than GES-1 cells. BMP-2 decreased CDK-4 expression in cancer cells but had no influence in GES-1 cells. Noggin conferred promotive effect on the growth of 3 types of cells. In 2 types of cancer cells, treatment with 2000 ng/ml Noggin significantly increased the proportion of cells in S phase but reduced that in G1 phase. However, Noggin did not affect the cell cycle of GES-1 cells. The CDK4 expression was markedly increased in 2 types of cancer cells but that of GES-1 remained unchanged after treatment with 2000 ng/ml Noggin.Conclusions: BMP-2 may inhibit the proliferation of both normal and malignant gastric epithelial cells, down-regulate CDK4 expression in gastric cancer cells and arrest gastric cancer cells in G1-phase in cell cycle. Through antagonizing BMP-2, Noggin, may accelerate the proliferation of gastric cancer cells. Thus, the abnormality of BMP signaling pathway may play an important role in the pathogenesis of gastric cancer.
