By studying the associated constraint variational problem, we prove the existence of ground states for the system with any parameter $\alpha>0$, which represents the attractive strength of the non-relativistic quantum particles. This paper is concerned with normalized solutions of the magnetic focusing Gross-Pitaevskii equations with anharmonic potentials in $\R^N$, where $N=2,3$. The existence of axially symmetric solutions is constructed as the parameter $a>0$ satisfies $a \to a_*(N)$, where $a_*(N)\geq0$ is a critical constant depending only on $N$. We further prove that up to the constant phase and rotational transformation, normalized concentrating solutions as $a\to a_*(N)$ must be unique and axially symmetric. As a byproduct, we also obtain that for the case $N=3$, the normalized concentrating solution as $a\to a_*(3)$ is free of vortices, where the anharmonic potential is non-radially symmetric.

In this paper, we study constraint minimizers $u$ of the planar Schr\"odinger-Poisson system with a logarithmic convolution potential $\ln |x|\ast u^2$ and a logarithmic external potential $V(x)=\ln (1+|x|^2)$, which can be described by the $L^2$-critical constraint minimization problem with a subcritical perturbation. We prove that there is a threshold $\rho ^* \in (0,\infty)$ such that constraint minimizers exist if and only if $0<\rho<\rho^*$. This paper is concerned with ground states of attractive Bose gases confined in an anharmonic trap $V(x)=\omega(|x|^2+k|x|^4)$ rotating at the velocity $\Omega>0$, where $\omega>0$ denotes the trapping frequency, and $k>0$ represents the strength of the quartic term. It is known that for any $\Omega>0$, ground states exist in such traps if and only if $00$ is the unique positive solution of $\Delta Q-Q+Q^{3}=0$ in $\mathbb{R}^2$. By analyzing the refined energies and expansions of ground states, we prove that there exists a constant $C>0$, independent of $00$.

We study ground states of two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates with repulsive ($a>0$) or attractive ($a<0$) interactions in a trap $V (x)$ rotating at the velocity $\Omega $. It is known that there exist critical parameters $a^*>0$ and $\Omega ^*:=\Omega^*(V(x))>0$ such that if $\Omega>\Omega^*$, then there is no ground state for any $a\in\R$; if $0\le \Omega <\Omega ^*$, then ground states exist if and only if $a\in(-a^*,+\infty)$. As a completion of the existing results, in this paper, we focus on the critical case where $0<\Omega=\Omega^*<+\infty$ and classify the existence and nonexistence of ground states for $a\in\R$. We consider ground states of rotating Bose-Einstein condensates with attractive interactions in non-radially harmonic traps $V(x)=x_1^2+\Lambda ^2x_2^2 $, where $0<\Lambda \not =1$ and $x=(x_1, x_2)\in R^2$. We analyze nonnegative solutions of the nonlinear elliptic problem $\Delta u=\frac{\lambda f(x)}{u^2}+P$, where $\lambda>0$ and $P\geq0$, on a bounded domain $\Omega$ of $\mathbb{R}^N$ ($N\geq 1$) with a Dirichlet boundary condition. This equation models an electrostatic--elastic membrane system with an external pressure $P\geq 0$, where $\lambda >0$ denotes the applied voltage. First, we completely address the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions. The classification of all possible singularities at $|x|=0$ for nonnegative solutions $u(x)$ satisfying $u(0)=0$ is then analyzed for the special case where $\Omega=B_1(0)\subset \mathbb{R}^2$ and $f(x)=|x|^{\alpha}$ with $\alpha \geq0$. In particular, we show that for some $\alpha,$ $u(x)$ admits only the "isotropic" singularity at $|x|=0$, and otherwise $u(x)$ may admit the "anisotropic" singularity at $|x|=0$. This article is devoted to studying the model of two-dimensional attractive Bose-Einstein condensates in a trap $V(x)$ rotating at the velocity $\Omega $. This model can be described by the complex-valued Gross-Pitaevskii energy functional. It is shown that there exists a critical rotational velocity $0<\Omega^*:=\Omega^*(V)\leq \infty$, depending on the general trap $V(x)$, such that for any rotational velocity $0\leq \Omega <\Omega ^*$, minimizers (i.e., ground states) exist if and only if $a0$ denotes the absolute product for the number of particles times the scattering length, and $w>0$ is the unique positive solution of $\Delta w-w+w^3=0$ in $\mathbb{R}^2$. We consider a nonlinear Schr\"odinger system arising in a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with attractive intraspecies interactions and repulsive interspecies interactions in $\mathbb{R}^2$. We get ground states of this system by solving a constrained minimization problem. The paper is concerned with a system of two coupled time-independent Gross-Pitaevskii equations in $\mathbb{R}^2$, which is used to model two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with both attractive intraspecies and attractive interspecies interactions. This system is essentially an eigenvalue problem of a stationary nonlinear Schr\"odinger system in $\mathbb{R}^2$, solutions of the problem are obtained by seeking minimizers of the associated variational functional with constrained mass (i.e. $L^2-$norm constaints). Under certain type of trapping potentials $V_i(x)$ ($i=1,2$), the existence, non-existence and uniqueness of this kind of solutions are studied. Moreover, by establishing some delicate energy estimates, we show that each component of the solutions blows up at the same point (i.e., one of the global minima of $V_i(x)$) when the total interaction strength of intraspecies and interspecies goes to a critical value. We are interested in the attractive Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation in $\R^2$, where the external potential $V(x)$ vanishes on $m$ disjoint bounded domains $\Omega_i\subset \R^2\ (i=1,2,\cdots,m)$ and $V(x)\to\infty$ as $|x|\to\infty$, that is, the union of these $\Omega_i$ is the bottom of the potential well. This paper is concerned with the properties of $L^2$-normalized minimizers of the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) functional for a two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate with attractive interaction and ring-shaped potential. By establishing some delicate estimates on the least energy of the GP functional, we prove that symmetry breaking occurs for the minimizers of the GP functional as the interaction strength $a>0$ approaches a critical value $a^*$, each minimizer of the GP functional concentrates to a point on the circular bottom of the potential well and then is non-radially symmetric as $a\nearrow a^*$.
