21. Fast photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B using indium-porphyrin based cationic MOF under visible light irradiation.

Abstract

A broad light-harvesting range and efficient charge separation are two main ways to enhance the visible photocatalytic performance of semiconductors. Herein, an ionic porphyrin MOF [In(TPyP)]·(NO3) (1) (TPyP = 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-pyridyl)-21H,23H-porphyrin) was synthesized via in situ metalation. The orderly arranged porphyrin photosensitizer and the internal electric field between the MOF host and NO3− guests enable effective visible light response and electron–hole separation. Consequently, the as-synthesized MOF shows efficient photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB), methyl orange (MO) and methylene blue (MB) organic pollutants. It can degrade 99.07% of RhB within only 20 minutes under visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm) with a high chemical reaction rate constant of 0.2400 min−1. The photocatalytic activity of the title MOF is more efficient than those of other reported MOFs, COFs and even inorganic semiconductors. Abstract

Background: The widely used Air Quality Index (AQI) has been criticized due to its inaccuracy, leading to the development of the air quality health index (AQHI), an improvement on the AQI. However, there is currently no consensus on the most appropriate construction strategy for the AQHI. Objectives: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the utility of AQHIs constructed by different models and health outcomes, and determine a better strategy. Methods: Based on the daily time-series outpatient visits and hospital admissions from 299 hospitals (January 2016–December 2018), and mortality (January 2017–December 2019) in Guangzhou, China, we utilized cumulative risk index (CRI) method, Bayesian multi-pollutant weighted (BMW) model and standard method to construct AQHIs for different health outcomes. The effectiveness of AQHIs constructed by different strategies was evaluated by a two-stage validation analysis and examined their exposure-response relationships with the cause-specific morbidity and mortality. Results: Validation by different models showed that AQHI constructed with the BMW model (BMW-AQHI) had the strongest association with the health outcome either in the total population or subpopulation among air quality indexes, followed by AQHI constructed with the CRI method (CRI-AQHI), then common AQHI and AQI. Further validation by different health outcomes showed that AQHI constructed with the risk of outpatient visits generally exhibited the highest utility in presenting mortality and morbidity, followed by AQHI constructed with the risk of hospitalizations, then mortality-based AQHI and AQI. The contributions of NO2 and O3 to the final AQHI were prominent, while the contribution of SO2 and PM2.5 were relatively small. Conclusions: The BMW model is likely to be more effective for AQHI construction than CRI and standard methods. Abstract

To improve the fertilization accuracy and distribution uniformity of nitrogen fertilizer, control method of working parameters coordinate match was proposed in this paper. Take minimum coefficient of variation as criterion, the nearly-optimal set of exposure length and rotational speed was solved based on regression models with known values of target fertilizer amount and operating speed, the interfaces were built to rapidly calculate related parameters. The static and dynamic experiments were conducted to verify the reliability and accuracy of regression models and control method; the results showed that under static conditions, the biggest difference value of fertilizer amount is 0.22g per revolution; under dynamic conditions, the deviation of fertilizer amount is less than 4.01%, the maximum deviation of rotational speed is 2.74%. Those results indicate that the control method is practical and feasible for fertilization operation.

Abstract

Keyin Pills is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of psoriasis, but it has been reported that it can cause serious liver injury. In this paper, we used the integrated evidence chain method to retrieve and reevaluate the adverse drug reaction database, CNKI literature and cases of liver injury relating to Keyin Pills in specialist hepatology hospitals. We screened out 23 cases with the causal relationship of the possible grade and above. Among them, 11 cases showed the positive causal relationship only with Keyin Pills, accounting for 47.83%, suggesting that there was objective liver injury caused by Keyin Pills. The incubation period of liver injury caused by Keyin Pills is 1-90 days, and the cumulative dosage span is 20-1 800 g. There were obvious individual diffe-rences. There was no relationship between liver injury as well as dose and course of treatment, suggesting that Keyin Pills could induce immune idiosyncratic liver injury. Furthermore, based on the liver injury model induced by immunological stress, it was confirmed that Keyin Pills could induce acute liver injury in a dose-dependent manner in rats with immunological stress. The toxic dose(14 g·kg~(-1)) of a single dose was 6.7 times of the clinical equivalent dose, and had no significant effect on the biochemical index of liver function and histopathology in normal rats. Decomposition experiments showed that Dictamnus dasycarpus in Keyin Pills is the main medicinal flavor that causes special liver injury, and the other three medicines had neither liver injury nor compatibility attenuation effect. The results suggest that clinical medication shall pay attention to the risk of liver injury caused by Keyin Pills in patients with immunological stress.

Abstract

Experimental data suggests that PM1 is more toxic than PM2.5 although the epidemiologic evidence suggests that the health associations are similar. However, few objective exposure data are available to compare the associations of PM1 and PM2.5 with children lung function. Our objectives are a) to evaluate associations between long-term exposure to PM1, PM2.5 and children's lung function, and b) to compare the associations between PM1 and PM2.5. From 2012 to 2013, we enrolled 6,740 children (7–14 years), randomly recruited from primary and middle schools located in seven cities in northeast China. We measured lung function including forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1), peak expiratory flow (PEF), and maximal mid-expiratory flow (MMEF) utilizing two portable electronic spirometers. We dichotomized continuous lung function measures according the expected values for gender and age. The spatial resolution at which PM1 and PM2.5 estimated were estimated using a machine learning method and the temporal average concentrations were averaged from 2009 to 2012. A multilevel regression model was used to estimate the associations of PM1, PM2.5 exposure and lung function measures, adjusted for confounding factors. Associations with lower lung function were consistently larger for PM1 than for PM2.5. Adjusted odds ratios (OR) per interquartile range greater PM1 ranged from 1.53 for MMEF (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20–1.96) to 2.14 for FEV1 (95% CI: 1.66–2.76) and ORs for PM2.5 ranged from 1.36 for MMEF (95%CI: 1.12–1.66) to 1.82 for FEV1 (95%CI: 1.49–2.22), respectively. Abstract

Caragana Korshinskii Kom were charred to yield the biochar in the temperature of 200℃, 300℃, 400℃ and 600℃. The components of Caragana Korshinskii Kom biochar were analyzed, the structure was surveyed through SEM and the adsorption isotherm curve was plotted with the specific surface area analyzer. The pore volume, size, and specific surface area were calculated. Biochar were mixed into soil column to detect the adsorption ability to diuron herbicide. The results showed that the adsorption isotherm curves of Caragana Korshinskii Kom biochar were the traditional I adsorption curves, the productivity of biochar decreased with the raising of charring temperature. Biochar, charred at the temperature of 600℃, had achieved 44.71% of yield rate of carbonization, 187.56 m2·g-1 specific surface area and mean 4.83 nm pore size. The microspore volume account for 53% in total pore volume. 1% of biochar had the significant effect on adsorption of diuron in soil, 3% of biochar in soil reached an optimal application amount balancing between its properties and cost.

Abstract

Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology is widely used on agricultural products for quality detection, classification and variety identification due to its rapid speed and high-efficiency. NIRS experiments were conducted to identify varieties of DUN millet, JIN 21 millet and 5 other types of millet. The NIRS characteristic curves and data of millet samples were collected. The spectroscopic data on different types of millet were analyzed by discriminant analysis, principal component analysis and neural network technology. The calibration set correct classification was 98.9%. A BP neural network prediction model for millet was also built. It was found that the forecast results of original wave spectrum prediction model were best, with its correlation coefficient of validation (Rv) at 0.9999, the standard error of prediction (SEP) was 0.0191 and the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) was 0.0189. Moreover, the Rv of first derivative spectra was 0.9976, the SEP and RMSEP were 0.1043 and 0.1437, respectively, and the Rv, SEP and RMSEP of second derivative spectra were 0.9835, 0.28735 and 0.2720 respectively. This study laid the foundation for identification of millet varieties by NIRS.
