1. SkyScript-100M: 1,000,000,000 Pairs of Scripts and Shooting Scripts for Short Drama

Abstract

Generating high-quality shooting scripts containing information such as scene and shot language is essential for short drama script generation. We collect 6,660 popular short drama episodes from the Internet, each with an average of 100 short episodes, and the total number of short episodes is about 80,000, with a total duration of about 2,000 hours and totaling 10 terabytes (TB). We perform keyframe extraction and annotation on each episode to obtain about 10,000,000 shooting scripts. We perform 100 script restorations on the extracted shooting scripts based on our self-developed large short drama generation model SkyReels. This leads to a dataset containing 1,000,000,000 pairs of scripts and shooting scripts for short dramas, called SkyScript-100M. We compare SkyScript-100M with the existing dataset in detail and demonstrate some deeper insights that can be achieved based on SkyScript-100M. Based on SkyScript-100M, researchers can achieve several deeper and more far-reaching script optimization goals, which may drive a paradigm shift in the entire field of text-to-video and significantly advance the field of short drama video generation. Abstract

Existing emotion-aware conversational models usually focus on controlling the response contents to align with a specific emotion class, whereas empathy is the ability to understand and concern the feelings and experience of others. Hence, it is critical to learn the causes that evoke the users' emotion for empathetic responding, a.k.a. emotion causes. To gather emotion causes in online environments, we leverage counseling strategies and develop an empathetic chatbot to utilize the causal emotion information. On a real-world online dataset, we verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach by comparing our chatbot with several SOTA methods using automatic metrics, expert-based human judgements as well as user-based online evaluation., Comment: SIGIR 2021

Abstract

A simile is a figure of speech that directly makes a comparison, showing similarities between two different things, e.g. "Reading papers can be dull sometimes,like watching grass grow". Human writers often interpolate appropriate similes into proper locations of the plain text to vivify their writings. However, none of existing work has explored neural simile interpolation, including both locating and generation. In this paper, we propose a new task of Writing Polishment with Simile (WPS) to investigate whether machines are able to polish texts with similes as we human do. Accordingly, we design a two-staged Locate&Gen model based on transformer architecture. Our model firstly locates where the simile interpolation should happen, and then generates a location-specific simile. We also release a large-scale Chinese Simile (CS) dataset containing 5 million similes with context. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of WPS task and shed light on the future research directions towards better automatic text polishment., Comment: Accepted in AAAI2021

Abstract

Postharvest Agaricus bisporus is susceptible to browning, water loss, and microbial infection. In order to extend its shelf life, cold plasma technology was used to treat and evaluate A. bisporus. Firstly, according to the results of a single factor test and response surface analysis, the optimal conditions for cold plasma treatment were determined as a voltage of 95 kV, a frequency of 130 Hz, and a processing time of 10 min. Secondly, storage experiments were carried out using the optimized cold plasma treatment. The results showed that the cold plasma treatment in the packaging significantly reduced the total viable count in A. bisporus by approximately 16.5%, maintained a browning degree at 26.9% lower than that of the control group, and a hardness at 25.6% higher than that of the control group. In addition, the cold plasma treatment also helped to preserve the vitamin C and total protein content of A. bisporus. In conclusion, cold plasma treatment showed great potential in enhancing the postharvest quality of fresh A. bisporus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Pitch bearings are the key components of wind turbines (WTs). The reliability of pitch bearings affects the electric energy output efficiency of WTs. Due to its large loading ability, constant contact angle and high stiffness, the three-row roller slewing bearing (TRSB) is becoming a more attractive choice as a pitch bearing, especially in large-scale WTs. The contact force and pressure distributions significantly affect the fatigue life of a three-row roller pitch bearing (TRPB). Therefore, it is essential to propose a precise calculation method for the contact force and pressure. The present work establishes a quasi-static five degree-of-freedom (DOF) mathematical model for TRPBs, in which the bearing under general loading conditions is considered. The influences of combined external forces, overturning moments and inner ring misalignment angle on the contact force and pressure distributions of TRPBs are comprehensively investigated. According to the analysis results, the overturning moment and axial force can significantly affect the number of load-carrying rollers in each row. Furthermore, a slight variation of the inner ring angular misalignment has a significant effect on the contact force and pressure of TRPBs. Finally, it is more prone to pressure concentration in the non-crowned roller than that in the crowned roller, especially in the case of the inner ring with a misalignment angle. 39. Ultra-high specific surface area activated carbon from Taihu cyanobacteria viaKOH activation for enhanced methylene blue adsorption

Abstract

Cyanobacteria-based activated carbon (CBAC) was successfully prepared by pyrolysis-activation of Taihu cyanobacteria. When the impregnation ratio and activated temperature were 2 and 800 °C, respectively, the optimal CBACs possessed an ultra-high specific surface (2178.90 m2·g−1) and plenty of micro- and meso-pores, as well as a high pore volume (1.01 cm3·g−1). Ascribed to ultra-high surface area, π–π interaction, electrostatic interaction, as well as hydrogen-bonding interactions, the CBACs displayed huge superiority in efficient dye removal. The saturated methylene blue adsorption capacity by CBACs could be as high as 1143.4 mg·g−1, superior to that of other reported biomass-activated carbons. The adsorption was endothermic and modeled well by the pseudo-second-order kinetic, intra-particle diffusion, and Langmuir models. This work presented the effectiveness of Taihu cyanobacteria adsorbent ascribed to its super large specific surface area and high adsorption ability.

Abstract

Transient response of the pinch point is crucial to the evaluations of the recuperator efficiency. A reheat and recompression cycle dynamic simulation system for supercritical CO2 is built, and a transient segmented model is developed to explore the dynamic characteristics of the recuperators. The operating conditions including inlet mass flowrate, temperature and pressure of the low temperature recuperator (LTR) change dramatically with the withdraw-mass variation, which causes different response characteristics of the pinch point. The pinch point gradually transfers from the cold end to the hot end of the LTR as the mass flowrate decreases. The higher pinch-point temperature difference leads to lower heat exchanger effectiveness, and the internal pinch point greatly weakens the recuperator performance. A new prediction model is proposed to quickly determine the pinch point location and analyze the operating conditions prone to cause internal pinch point. The range of split ratio in which the internal pinch point exists in the LTR is obtained. The lower-limit of split ratio variation is sensitive to the high- and low-pressures, the isentropic efficiency of the compressor, and the outlet temperature of the precooler, while the upper-limit of split ratio is only related to the pressures of the recuperator.
