Abstract

The laser-deposition of three large-area YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) superconducting thin films reveals that the microwave surface resistance of the films are different from that of conventionally prepared YBCO. The three layers have a resistance of 280 microohms, 3.78 milliohms and 97 milliohms, respectively. The resistive losses in these films is caused by the structure and morphology of the films, which are caused by deposition.

Abstract

Simultaneous room temperature ferroelectricity and magnetic properties are observed in (Co, Li) coimplanted ZnO films. The ionic radius difference between the dopants and host cations is used for interpreting the ferroelectricity and the magnetism is described by bound magnetic polarons mediated by electrons and defects.
