Abstract

The article examines the effectiveness of integrating indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) focal-plant arrays (FPAs) sensor in the near-infrared (NIR) camera. It states that NIR cameras can achieve higher sensitivity in NIR range with the use of InGaAs FPA sensors. It indicates that commercial NIR cameras with InGaAs FPA sensors are designed for use in night-vision and thermal-inspection applications while scientific applications demands high-quality camera system to achieve signal-to-noise ratio.
