Background: Human activities have significantly contributed to a persistent climate change trend, posing substantial threats to human health. Nurses regularly interact with patients experiencing the consequences of climate change, making their engagement in addressing this issue crucial. Nonetheless, our understanding of nurses' viewpoints regarding climate change remains limited. Aim: This scoping review aims to identify practicing nurses' and nursing students' perceptions of climate change. Design: To fulfil this objective, a documentary search strategy was developed using an iterative process. Methods: The search strategy was tested in four bibliographic databases, as well as in the grey literature. A 2‐stage selection process was conducted, and relevant data were extracted from selected articles for analysis. Results: Twenty‐two scientific articles and 11 documents from nursing associations were selected. The findings suggest that while many nurses and nursing students are concerned about climate change and its effects on their patients' health, their role in addressing the climate crisis is not well understood. Many barriers such as having a heavy workload and the lack of support hindered their ability to adjust their practice in response to the changing climate. Furthermore, many expressed a need for trainings on climate change issues. Conclusions: These results raise a great and urgent demand for these professionals to receive appropriate training to cope with climatic threats to health. Future research should focus on the development of nursing climate leadership, and healthcare organizations should support nursing initiatives and help raise nurses' awareness regarding climate change. Objective: This study describes the step-by-step development of the IMove30+ programme and outlines lessons derived from the authors' experience using an intervention mapping protocol (IMP)-based programme design. The programme was designed to increase the moderate to vigorous physical activity (PA) level at school among Lebanese children, aged 10-12 years. Design: Participatory cross-sectional design including group and individual interviews. Setting: Sidon district of Lebanon. Method: The programme was co-designed with a planning committee and included a local leader in school health, school staff including nurses and members of the target population (schoolchildren). The programme was developed using the six steps of the IMP: elaborating a logic model of the problem, formulating programme objectives, choosing the theoretical methods (i.e. the theory-based techniques used to influence a change objective) and practical applications (i.e. the applied strategies based on those theoretical methods), designing the programme, planning programme implementation, and planning the evaluation. Participants' involvement in the programme's activities was entirely voluntary. Results: Implemented by teachers and school nurses, this 14-week school-based programme was designed to provide an additional 30 minutes of school-based PA per day through structural environmental change, educational activities, a PA-monitoring system and PA events at school and in the classroom as well as during recess. Conclusion: IMP enabled the rigorous and systematic development of the programme to improve children's PA level. The programme description and the lessons learned can facilitate the replication and the scaling up of the programme in other settings.

Traditionally, food system governance has been executed at provincial, national, or supranational levels, but recently, there has been an increasing trend of local areas coordinating initiatives to influence their own food systems. They are distinguished by their focus on the principles of food democracy, especially in terms of citizen participation. Although initiatives to boost citizen collaboration in local food systems are on the rise, achieving active citizen involvement can prove challenging. This study aims to understand citizen engagement and participation in local food systems at the regional, municipal, or neighborhood levels. A narrative literature review was performed, covering academic and gray literature and using descriptive statistics and semi-inductive thematic analysis. The analysis identified five categories of local food system citizen participation programs, i.e., governance committees that include citizens, citizen working groups, participatory research, participatory workshops, and citizen forums and assemblies. The review highlighted factors that influence the operation and perceived success of citizen participation initiatives. Findings underscore the importance of creating citizen participation mechanisms that are inclusive, transparent, and adaptable. Proper organization and facilitation by a dedicated local organization ensure the success of citizen engagement initiatives. The identified categories and factors can guide policymakers in designing effective local food system initiatives that enhance meaningful citizen involvement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this study is to identify the best practices of Facebook use for municipalities looking to communicate and interact with their citizens, with a particular impact for rural municipalities. A narrative review was conducted to identify the scientific and gray literature on research databases and Google, respectively. A thematic analysis of the data was conducted to summarize the main strengths, challenges, and recommendations to improve municipalities' Facebook use. Our results showed many benefits of Facebook use for municipalities and elected officials, such as communicating efficiently with citizens. The main challenge identified was developing an effective communication strategy. Finally, several recommendations were found, such as making Facebook posts that appeal to citizens and promote discussion. These results will be useful in helping municipalities develop an effective Facebook communication strategy to improve online engagement and citizen participation for local governments. This study aimed to explore challenges and promising avenues for integrating sustainable diets into healthcare organizations. An exploratory descriptive qualitative study was conducted from May to November 2019 in the province of Quebec, Canada, using semi-structured interviews with 29 key informants from a variety of professions. The study identified that the main recommendation for integrating sustainable diets (SDs) is that a clear commitment from policymakers is needed, that public health officers are in a favorable position to promote SDs, that food services require assistance integrating SD principles, and that health professionals face significant barriers to integrating sustainability into dietary advice. The number of practices promoting local food have been rapidly growing in recent years, mainly in response to the increasing interest from consumers and their sustainability benefits. The objective of this scoping review is to present a taxonomy of the most promising promotion practices in this domain. A targeted search within a database specialized in storing newspaper articles resulted in the identification of 78 documents that were published prior to COVID‐19 pandemic. Their analysis led to the development of a taxonomy containing four major categories regrouping 14 types of initiatives to promote local food products. The review also highlighted the principal strengths of these initiatives (e.g., facilitating access to local food products, promoting social diversity, integration, and solidarity), as well as some obstacles (e.g., funding, infrastructure, and volunteer recruitment). The taxonomy presented in this review can be used to guide the analysis of existing or the development of new local food promotion initiatives, thus encouraging sustainability in this domain. Research question/issue: This study explores the challenges faced by responsible investment and shareholder activism practitioners in integrating sustainability by means of proxy voting as shareholder engagement strategy. Research findings/insights: Proxy voting guidelines that sometimes include sustainability provisions are applied in a very elastic and inconsistent way. Proxy voting agents are expected to follow the guidelines; they explain their non‐compliance by pointing out the guidelines' vagueness, the opacity of current proxy voting practices, and portfolio managers not necessarily aligned with their clients' stated sustainability commitments, along with their perceptions of what is in the best interest of the clients. Theoretical/academic implications: This study sheds new light on processes underlying proxy voting practices for sustainability, which have been largely overlooked in the literature. By opening the "black box" of proxy voting processes, this study challenges the dominant optimism in this area and raises serious concerns regarding the effectiveness of current shareholder activism practices. This paper also contributes to the critical literature on corporate sustainability and neo‐institutional approaches by showing that the use of proxy voting guidelines in this area can be considered as a rational myth based on symbolic commitments divorced from substantial change in the dominant financial logic. Practitioner/policy implications: This paper has important practical implications for institutional investors, organizations involved in proxy voting practices, and stakeholders in general. Among other things, this article shows the importance of clarifying the commitments included in proxy voting procedures, monitoring their application, and providing training on ESG issues to the actors involved in implementing the guidelines. This study identifies mediators and moderators of changes in physical activity (PA) following a school-based pilot intervention. Students from two Lebanese schools were randomly allocated into intervention (n = 191) and control (n = 183) groups. The multiple-mediation analysis revealed that active self-identity and perceived barriers mediated the intervention's effect on PA changes. Baseline intention, attitude, PBC, and age moderated PA changes at post-intervention. The youngest participants and those reporting the lowest PA scores at baseline benefited most from the intervention. Future interventions with students should target these mediators and moderators to promote positive change in PA behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Previous studies have reported a conflict between nurses' motivation to provide humanized care and practical requirements impeding them from doing so. This exploratory descriptive qualitative study aimed to explore nurses' perspectives on humanized care, the challenges they face, and, most importantly, their recommendations to overcome these barriers. Semistructured individual interviews were conducted with 17 auxiliary and registered nurses working in various health care units in a Canadian hospital. Participants demonstrated a good understanding of what humanized care covers and entails. They also described it as the very core of their profession and main source of job satisfaction. However, nurses reported that they are confronted with organizational barriers, mainly a lack of staff, the burden of administrative tasks, unsuitable physical environments or equipment, and little managerial support. Nurses stressed the need for a cultural change in managerial practices in order to be able to improve their provision of humanized care. Based on the findings, 4 structuring recommendations were identified: adopting an institutional policy promoting the implementation of humanized care, incorporating humanized care in nurses' tasks and procedures, improving participatory management, and ensuring adequate staffing.
