Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) is one of the leading causes of maternal and perinatal mortality worldwide, with increasing incidence and mortality year by year. In 2023, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) updated the recommendation statement on screening for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy by evaluating the latest research evidence and analyzing the benefits and harms of screening for HDP. The recommendation, compared with the 2017 version, further affirms the importance of blood pressure measurement in screening for HDP, affirms substantial net benefit, and recommends blood pressure measurement throughout pregnancy to screen for HDP. This article explores and analyzes the key points of this recommendation based on the RIGHT statement for introductions and interpretations of guidelines in Chinese (RIGHT for INT) and its implications for guiding general practitioners in China.

Primary cutaneous lymphomas are a group of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas originating from the skin, with unique clinical and histological features. In December 2023, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) updated and released the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Primary Cutaneous Lymphomas (Version 1. 2024). Compared to the 2023 edition of the Guidelines, this update mainly focuses on the principles of diagnostic assessment, staging criteria, treatment principles for mycosis fungoides(MF) at different stages, and recommendations for radiotherapy. In conjunction with the current situation and characteristics of the diagnosis and treatment of primary cutaneous lymphoma in our country, this article interprets the main recommendations of the Guidelines to promote the application of clinical practices in our country.

In 2022, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) updated its recommendations, reviewing the evidence of the benefits and harms of behavioral counseling interventions aimed at promoting healthy behaviors in adults without cardiovascular disease risk factors. The conclusions of this review align with the 2017 guidelines. Behavioral counseling interventions in adults without cardiovascular disease risk factors result in minimal net benefits. Therefore, it is recommended that clinicians make individualized decisions on whether to provide or recommend behavioral counseling interventions to adults without cardiovascular disease risk factors to promote a healthy diet and physical activity (Grade C). This article provides a comprehensive interpretation of the guidelines in the context of the current status of cardiovascular disease prevention in China, offering valuable insights into cardiovascular disease prevention practices among Chinese adults.

The Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer 2024 Hereinafter referred to as the CSCO Guidelines for Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC ) in 2024 was officially released in April 2024.The new version of the CSCO Guidelines for NSCLC in 2024 adhered to the evidence-based medical evidence, focused on the accessibility of drugs, taking into account regional development differences and pharmacoeconomic costs, summarizing expert opinions, and timely updating the diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC on the basis of the 2023 version. This paper aimed to sort out and analyze the updated part of the CSCO Guidelines for NSCLC in 2024, focusing on the update points of immunotherapy and targeted therapy and the corresponding evidence-based medical evidence. Takayasu's arteritis (TAK) is a chronic large vessel vasculitis that involves the aorta and its primary branch arteries, which can result in limb ischemia and organ damage. A clinical practice guideline has been newly developed under the leadership of the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Dermatologic and Immunologic Diseases. This guideline provides evidence-based recommendations on 11 key issues in the management of TAK, covering the diagnosis, clinical evaluation, medical treatment, antithrombotic therapy, surgical intervention as well as pregnancy, and aims to guide the diagnosis and treatment of TAK in clinical practice and improve the outcomes of patients in China. This article interprets the key points of this guideline, in order to promote its application.

Dyspnea, the subjective sensation of breathlessness, is a common source of distress for patients living with advanced cancer. Effective assessment and management of dyspnea among patients living with advanced cancer represents core competencies for front-line clinicians and professional caregivers. However, there is still a lack of standardized procedures for handling dyspnea in China. Based on evidence-based medicine, the American Society of Clinical Oncology practice guidelines for management of dyspnea in advanced cancer was released, which outlines assessment and management of dyspnea among patients living with advanced cancer. This article aims to provide detailed interpretation of key clinical content to guide China's clinical practice.

Lung cancer is the malignant tumor with the highest morbidity and mortality in China. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the main pathological subtype of lung cancer. On April 13, 2023, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) released the third edition of the 2023 NCCN Oncology Clinical Practice Guidelines: Non-small Cell Lung Cancer, which reflects the latest advances in international lung cancer research. This article will interpret the main updated contents of the new edition of the guidelines, and compare it with the third edition of the NCCN guidelines in 2022, so as to provide references about the diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC for clinical medical personnel in China.

Off-label drug use represents a reasonable need for diagnosis and treatment in some cases, but it faces potential risks with drug safety and legal challenges. However, there was no guideline on how to manage the off-label drug use in China. Therefore, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, in cooperation with Evidence-based Medicine Center of Lanzhou University, established a working group and an expert group consisting of multidisciplinary group of experts to develop the Management Guideline for the Off-label Use of Drugs in China (2021). The Guideline is guided by the Law on Doctors of the People's Republic of China and the World Health Organization Guideline Development Manual. This is the first management guideline on the off-label use of drugs, aiming to improve the stakeholders' understanding of this topic and establish a standardized management procedure in China. This guideline has determined nine questions and proposed a total of twenty-three recommendations. The English version of the guideline was published in September 2022. This paper offers a detailed interpretation of the key points of the guidelines in order to provide suggestions and references for the management of off-label drug use.

According to the data of China's seventh national population census, the elderly population (≥60 years old) accounted for 18.7% of the total population in 2020. About 30%(78.13 million)of them suffer from diabetes mellitus, among which more than 95% have type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, current prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the elderly is unsatisfactory, and there is a tendency of weakening and negativity. Complications caused by poorly controlled blood glucose are the main risk factors jeopardizing the health and survival of the elderly. The Clinical Guidelines of Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the Elderly in China (2022 Edition) that summarizes the domestic and foreign relevant guidelines and research on elderly diabetic patients, aims to establish and optimize the concept of prevention and treatment in the elderly with diabetes mellitus, promote the implementation of standardized measures of prevention and treatment, and constantly improve the overall management level of diabetes mellitus in the elderly. Therefore, it is necessary to interpret its important contents.

The paper interprets the formulation, main content and characteristics of Clinical practice guideline on acupuncture and moxibustion: smoking cessation issued by World Federation of Acupuncture Societies (WFAS 007.2-2023, short for Guideline). The Guideline focuses on the clinical value of acupuncture regimen for smoking cessation and its abstinence rate, and attaches the importance to the actual needs of patients, the counseling and management of smoking cessation. The Guideline is characterized by its international orientation, the integration of Chinese and Western medicine, and the advantages of acupuncture for smoking cessation. It is formulated concisely in content and highlights the clinical practicability. During the guideline development for smoking cessation in future, the consideration should be paid on improving the evidence quality of acupuncture, preserving the characteristics of acupuncture and emphasizing patients' demand, the counseling and management of smoking cessation, as well as the scenarios of implementation so as to improve the quality and applicability of the guidelines.

In recent years, with the rapid development of medical research, cancer diagnosis and treatment technology have significantly improved young cancer patient's survival rate. Anticancer therapy such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation can lead to premature ovarian insufficiency. The endocrine and reproductive function of the ovary is critical to women's physical and mental health. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation can protect not only female fertility but also preserve ovarian endocrine function. This paper interprets the guidelines for ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation issued by the Chinese Society of Gynecological Endocrinology affiliated to the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology. The purpose of this guideline's interpretation is to promote more medical workers to understand the technology of ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation, which can provide patients with more choices of fertility protection methods and improve their quality of life.

Organ transplantation is the most effective method to treat end-stage organ failure. As the increase of transmission risk of donor-derived diseases, the quality, safety and selection criteria of transplanted organs become more and more important. Chapter 7 of the European Union's Guide to the Quality and Safety of Organs for Transplantation (6th Edition) proposed basic requirements in terms of donor and organ quality assessment, selection criteria and procedures, which were worthy of study and practice in clinical practice. Lumbar disc herniation with radiculopathy refers to a localized displacement of disc material beyond the normal margins of the intervertebral disc space resulting in pain, weakness or numbness in a myotomal or dermatomal distribution. North American Spine Society (NASS) released a new version of clinical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of lumbar disc herniation with radiculopathy. For providing the best and effective diagnosis and treatment plan, this guidelines use a systematic review of literature and evidence-based medical evidence analysis to identify different recommended intensities, focus on the common problems of diagnosis and treatment. Isthmic spondylolisthesis in adults is a common clinical disease that causes lower back pain. In order to provide the best and effective diagnosis and treatment plan, in 2014, the North American Spine Association (NASS) formulated the guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of isthmic spondylolisthesis in adult (hereinafter referred to as the guideline). Through the systematic review of literature, evidence-based medical evidence analysis was conducted to identify different recommended intensities, to discuss the clinical diagnosis and treatment plan mainly from two aspects of diagnosis and treatment. With the deepening of clinical research, the management of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) needs to be optimized and improved. This article aims to introduce the 2022 European guideline on the management of neonatal RDS, focusing on its key updates. The guide has optimized the management of risk prediction for preterm birth, maternal referral, application of prenatal corticosteroids, application of lung protective ventilation strategies, and general care for infants with RDS. The guideline is mainly applicable to the management of RDS in neonates with gestational age greater than 24 weeks.

In the past 20 years, Chinese Medical Association had issued several versions of hepatitis C prevention and treatment guidelines. In the latest guidelines published in 2022, the Chinese Society of Hepatology and the Society of Infectious Diseases for the Chinese Medical Association organized experts to update their recommendations for hepatitis C screening and treatment. The updated key points on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment proposed in the guidelines are now interpreted, aiming to provide reference for more effective clinical application of the guidelines.

Based on peer-reviewed systematic reviews and randomized controlled trials published between January 2000 and June 2019 with regards to the management of glenohumeral joint osteoarthritis (GJO), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) established the clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of GJO. The guidelines provided practice recommendations including risk factors, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, prosthesis selection, and perioperative management for GJO. The recommendations were graded according to different evidence strength. This paper interprets the guidline in order to provide reference for domestic medical workers.

In 1972, the Committee on Hearing and Equilibrium of the American Academy of Otoaryngology （AAO-CHE） produced the first diagnostic guidelines for Ménière's disease. The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation （AAO-HNS） modified them in 1985, 1995 and 2015. Then, AAO-HNS developed the latest updated version of the Ménière's Disease Guidelines in 2020, based on the latest evidence-based medicine foundation.
