Abstract Intangible cultural heritage is an invaluable treasure for all human beings worldwide. In 2009, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) inscribed the Chinese Cantonese Opera, also known as Yueju in Chinese Pinyin, on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The awareness of inheriting Yueju is not uncommon, but advancing methods to involve more young generations in this art form is still necessary. In this study, we focused on Yueju videos on Bilibili, a cultural community and video website popular among the younger generation. Through quantitative and qualitative research, we explored the types of Yueju videos that would have a significant spreading effect. The 1916 Bilibili videos related to Yueju were collected using Python crawler technology. We analyzed each video using seventeen variables. The elaboration likelihood model (ELM) forms the theoretical foundation of this research. We constructed the Yueju transmission model with two persuasive routes based on this model. The research methods mainly comprised regression analysis, multi-factor ANOVA, and analytic hierarchy process (AHP). We invited thirty-one experts to assess the importance hierarchy of those video factors and calculate the weight coefficient using AHP. This study demonstrated the central route concerning the causal relationship between video recognition and spreading effect through regression analysis. Additionally, this research identified the optimal combination of 8 video factors using multi-factor ANOVA in the peripheral route. In this study, we focused on the niche of Yueju video transmission on Bilibili. This research utilized the ELM and hybrid methods to obtain the statistical results. Then, we developed appropriate macro-level and micro-level strategies for transmitting Yueju culture, particularly those aimed at the younger generation.

In the field of graphic design, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the design process. This study employs the Critical Interpretive Synthesis (CIS) approach to explore the impacts and challenges of AI on graphic design. Through a comprehensive review of 33 papers, this research reveals four research paradigms of AI in graphic design: Artificial Intelligence Driven Design Automation and Generation (AIDAG), Artificial Intelligence Assisted Graphic Design and Image Processing (AGDIP), Artificial Intelligence in Art and Creative Design Processes (AACDP), and Artificial Intelligence Enhanced Visual Attention and Emotional Response Modeling (AVERM). These paradigms demonstrate the multidimensional role of AI in design, ranging from automation to emotional interaction. The findings suggest that AI serves a dual role as both a design tool and a medium for innovation. AI not only enhances the automation and efficiency of the design process but also fosters designers' creative thinking and understanding of users' emotional needs. This study also proposes a path for the application of the four paradigms in the graphic design process, providing effective design ideas for future design workflows.

This study summarizes the significance of microRNA-134 (miRNA-134) in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of depression, a disease still under investigation due to its complexity. miRNA-134 is an endogenous short non-coding RNA that can bind to the 3′ untranslated region (3′UTR) of miRNA-134, inhibiting gene translation and showing great potential in the regulation of mood, synaptic plasticity, and neuronal function. This study included 15 articles retrieved from four English-language databases: PubMed, Embase, The Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, and three Chinese literature databases: CNKI, Wanfang, and Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database (VIP).We evaluated each of the 15 articles using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP) tool.The standard integrates analyzes of genomic, transcriptomic, neuroimaging, and behavioral data analyses related to miRNA-134 and depression. A multidimensional framework based on standardized criteria was used for quality assessment. The main findings indicate that miRNA-134 significantly affects synaptic plasticity and neurotransmitter regulation, in particular the synthesis and release of serotonin and dopamine. miRNA-134 shows high sensitivity and specificity as a biomarker for the diagnosis of depression and has therapeutic potential for the targeted treatment of depression. miRNA-134 plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of depression, providing valuable insights for early diagnosis and the development of targeted therapeutic strategies. This work highlights the potential of miRNA-134 as a focal point for advancing personalized medicine approaches for depression.

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality globally, with environmental pollutants identified as significant risk factors, especially for nonsmokers. The intersection of these pollutants with epigenetic mechanisms has emerged as a critical area of interest for understanding the etiology and progression of lung cancer. Epigenetic changes, including DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNAs, can induce alterations in gene expression without affecting the DNA sequence and are influenced by environmental factors, contributing to the transformation of normal cells into malignant cells. This review assessed the literature on the influence of environmental pollutants on lung cancer epigenetics. A comprehensive search across databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase yielded 3,254 publications, with 22 high-quality papers included for in-depth analysis. These studies demonstrated the role of epigenetic markers, such as DNA methylation patterns of genes like F2RL3 and AHRR and alterations in the miRNA expression profiles, as potential biomarkers for lung cancer diagnosis and treatment. The review highlights the need to expand research beyond homogenous adult male groups typically found in high-risk occupational environments to broader population demographics. Such diversification can reduce biases and enhance the relevance of findings to various clinical contexts, fostering the development of personalized preventive and therapeutic measures. In conclusion, our findings underscore the potential of innovative epigenetic therapies, such as DNA demethylating drugs and histone modification agents, to counter environmental toxins’ carcinogenic effects. The growing interest in miRNA therapies and studies aiming to correct aberrant methylation patterns indicate significant strides toward better lung cancer management and a healthier future for global communities.

Background and purpose: Parkinson's disease (PD) causes a decline in motor function, cognitive decline, and impacts the mental health of patients. Due to the high cost and side effects of conventional treatments, the medical community has begun to explore safer and more cost-effective alternative therapies. In this context, arts therapies have gained increasing attention as innovative treatments. This review plans to explore the role and potential of various arts therapies in the rehabilitation of PD patients by analyzing existing literature and case studies. Methods: This review comprehensively searched the literature in several databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure, to assess the effectiveness of different arts therapies in the rehabilitation of patients with PD. Results: From 3440 articles screened, 16 met the inclusion criteria. These studies included a variety of therapies, including music, meditation, yoga, art, dance, theatre, video games and play therapy. These different types of arts therapies had a positive impact on the motor, psychological and cognitive rehabilitation of PD patients, respectively. Conclusion: The existing literature highlights the great potential of arts therapies in the rehabilitation of people with PD, further confirming the efficacy of arts therapies in enhancing the motor, psychological and cognitive rehabilitation process of people with PD. In addition, this review identifies research gaps in the use of color therapy in PD rehabilitation and highlights the need for further exploration of various arts therapies modalities.

Haptics for stress regulation is well developed these years. Using vibrotactile to present biofeedback, guiding breathing or heartbeat regulation is a dominant technical approach. However, designing computer-mediated affective touch for stress regulation is also a promising way and has not been fully explored. In this paper, a haptic device was developed to test whether the computer-mediated affective stroking on the forearm could help to assist people in reducing stress. In our method, we used mid-air technology to generate subtle pressure force by blowing air and generating thermal feedback by using Peltier elements simultaneously. Firstly, we found intensity and velocity parameters to present comfort and pleasant stroking sensations. Afterward, an experiment was conducted to find out whether this approach could help people mediate their perceived and physiological stress. A total of 49 participants were randomly assigned to either a Stroking Group (SG) or a Control Group (CG). Results showed that participants from SG felt more relaxed than those from CG. The physiological stress index, RMSSD, increased and LF/HF decreased in SG although these changes were not statistically significant. Our exploration created subtle, non-invasive, noiseless haptic sensations. It could be a promising alternative for assisting people in stress regulation. Design implications and future applicable scenarios were discussed.

Introduction Schizophrenia, a chronic mental problem, significantly impacts cognition, emotion and social functioning. Conventional pharmacotherapy faces challenges including numerous side effects, low adherence to medication and substantial costs. In this context, group arts therapies (GATs) emerge as a promising complementary approach for symptom alleviation in schizophrenia patients. Nonetheless, the effectiveness and safety of GATs are yet to be firmly established. This study aims to systematically assess the therapeutic impact of all group-based artistic interventions as complementary treatments for schizophrenia, focusing on their potential benefits.Methods and analysis This study will search four English-language databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library and Embase), two Chinese databases (Wanfang Data and China National Knowledge Infrastructure) and three Korean databases (RISS, Korean Citation Index and DBpia) from their inception until October 2023. It will include all randomised controlled trials that compare GATs for schizophrenia with standard rehabilitation methods. The primary outcome is the improvement in patients’ positive and negative symptoms. The sensitivity of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) polarization information to snow depth changes provides new opportunities for regional snow depth retrieval in mountains with thick snow cover. However, interference from soil signals can affect the accurate quantification of snow volume scattering signals. The aim of this study was to develop a dual-polarimetric radar snow depth estimation (DpRSE) methodological framework that utilizes Sentinel-1 data for snow depth retrieval in the Scandinavian Mountains. This framework is based on the dual-polarimetric radar vegetation index (DpRVIc), which enhances the snow volume scattering signal and reduces soil interference by integrating soil purity and a conditioning factor to fully exploit the advantages of polarimetric SAR information. The results revealed a strong correlation between the DpRVIc and snow depth, and the DpRVIc significantly outperformed the other polarimetric radar indices. The multitemporal retrieval results clearly reflect the heterogeneity of the snow depth distribution. This method is applicable to areas without tree cover. Meanwhile, the shrub-filled regions also affect the snow depth retrieval accuracy. Under the same environmental conditions and using the same validation dataset, a comparison between the DpRSE method and the cross-polarization ratio method was conducted. The results indicated that the DpRSE method surpasses similar existing methods in terms of snow depth retrieval accuracy. Specifically, the coefficient of determination (R2) for the DpRSE method reached 0.66, which represents a 26.9 % improvement over that of the cross-polarization ratio method. Moreover, the mean absolute error (MAE) decreased by 20 %. This study offers a novel perspective on SAR snow depth retrieval utilizing polarization information.

IntroductionArts therapies offer effective non-pharmacological intervention for Sleep Initiation and Maintenance Disorders (SIMDs), encompassing both passive and active modalities. This review assesses their effectiveness and ethical considerations, focusing on music therapy, meditation, and Tai Chi.MethodsFollowing PRISMA guidelines, a detailed search across PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and CNKI identified 17 relevant RCTs. Utilizing the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) quality criteria and the PICO(S) framework for data extraction ensured methodological integrity.ResultsAnalysis shows arts therapies significantly improve sleep quality. Music therapy and meditation yield immediate benefits, while Tai Chi and Qigong require longer commitment for significant outcomes. DiscussionThe link between SIMDs and mental health issues like anxiety, stress, and depression suggests arts therapies not only enhance sleep quality but also address underlying mental health conditions. Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) is one of the most important optical properties of aerosols that may affect the energy budgets of our Earth–atmosphere system significantly. Currently, while regional and even global AOD knowledge has been given by various satellites or models, these products are still fraught with uncertainties. In this study, one sophisticated satellite-derived AOD product from MODIS (MODerate resolution Imaging Spectral-radiometer) and two state-of-the-art model-based AOD products from CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) and MERRA-2 (Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Application Version 2), based on AERONET measurements from 2000–2022, analyzed the spatial distribution characteristics of global AOD. Then using the Mann-Kendall (MK) trend test, the AOD changing trends revealed by the three products were also computed and analyzed. The accuracies of these products and the reliabilities of changing trends derived are discussed and concluded finally. Our study demonstrates that MODIS products have wider applicability, matching best with AERONET globally, while CAMS and MERRA-2 products are only reliable in North America, South America, and Europe. Through comparative analysis of the AOD trends, we found that MODIS, CAMS, and MERRA-2 AOD consistently exhibited decreasing trends in eastern Asia, Europe, and eastern North America. On the other hand, different products showed increasing trends in regions like West Asia, South Asia, and South Africa, suggesting their limited reliability. The reliability assessment shows that 41.45% of the areas have consistent trends among the three products, with approximately 3.2% showing significant and consistent results. When using site trend validation, the proportions of sites with consistent trends are highest at 64.56% and 46.84% respectively. The regions with the best reliability of global trend changes are mainly distributed in North America, Europe, Australia, eastern Asia, and Central South America. This study provides new insights for validating aerosol changes using remote sensing and has the potential to enhance future monitoring and evaluation methods of aerosol products.

Background and objectiveThe COVID-19 global pandemic has necessitated the urgency for innovative mental health interventions. We performed a comprehensive review of the available literature on the utility and efficacy of arts therapies in treating mental health problems, with special emphasis on their deployment during the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to provide some evidence for the application of this therapy.MethodsThe potential studies were systematically sourced from five authoritative databases: PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and the CNKI database. The evaluation of these studies was conducted based on stringent criteria, including validity, suitability, therapeutic potential, and consistency. Each piece of included literature was meticulously scored in accordance with these criteria, thus ensuring the inclusion of only the most robust studies in this review. The data from these Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) were carefully extracted using the PICO(S) framework, ensuring a comprehensive and systemic approach to data collection. In order to emphasize the variability in the effects of differing arts therapies on COVID-19-induced psychiatric disturbances, the sourced literature was systematically categorized and scrutinized based on distinct modalities.ResultsOut of the 7,250 sourced articles, 16 satisfied the inclusion conditions. The therapies were predominantly meditation (n = 7), supplemented by individual studies on color therapy (n = 3), music therapy (n = 2), and single studies on horticultural therapy, dance therapy, mindfulness and music therapy, and yoga and music therapy (n = 4 collectively). These various forms of arts therapies had a positive short to medium-term impact on the mental health of COVID-19 patients. Besides improving patients' physical and mental health, these therapies can also be employed to mitigate mental health issues among healthcare professionals.ConclusionThe COVID-19 pandemic has profound and long-lasting implications for public mental health. Diverse forms of arts therapies are potentially effective in addressing related psychiatric symptoms. The integration of artificial intelligence might further enhance the efficacy and scalability of arts therapies in future implementations.

AbstractPurpose Exosomal miRNAs play key roles in various biological processes such as cell proliferation, angiogenesis, migration and invasion. We explored whether exosomal miRNAs can promote local recurrence (LR) of lung tumors following incomplete microwave ablation (MWA) therapy.Methods Exosomal miRNA profiles before and after incomplete MWA in lung cancer (LC) patients with LR (n = 3) were sequenced and compared. The differentially expressed miRNAs of interest were validated in clinical samples (n = 10) and MWA-treated cells using RT-qPCR analysis. Target genes of the miRNAs were predicted and validated. The biological functions of miRNAs in proliferation, angiogenesis and metastasis of A549 cells were evaluated in vitro and in vivo.Results A total of 270 miRNAs (243 upregulated and 27 downregulated) were differentially expressed after incomplete MWA in patients with local recurrence. Upregulation of miR-133a-3p after MWA was validated in the cells and clinical samples. Cell functional experiments suggested that miR-133a-3p overexpression derived from serum exosomes increased cell viability, migration and invasion ability, tube formation activity and proliferation of A549 cells. Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) was identified as a target gene for miR-133a-3p. Moreover, miR-133a-3p delivered by exosomes significantly promoted tumor growth, paralleled by reduced SIRT1 expression in a subcutaneous tumorigenesis animal model and increased the number of lung nodules by tail vein metastasis in vivo.Conclusion Exosomal miR-133a-3p overexpression promoted tumor growth and metastasis following MWA and could be a promising biomarker for LC recurrence after incomplete MWA.

Chagan Sag is one of the most significant tectonic unit in the Yin'e Basin. The special component of the organic macerals and biomarkers in the Chagan sag suggests great difference of its hydrocarbon generation process. In this paper, forty samples of source rocks are subjected to carry out on the geochemical characteristics by methods of rock-eval analysis, organic petrology and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to reveal the origin, depositional environment and maturity of organic matter in Chagan Sag, Yin'e Basin of Inner Mongolia. The total organic matter of the analyzed samples ranges from 0.4 wt%∼3.89 wt% with an average of 1.12 wt%, indicating fair to excellent hydrocarbon generation potential. The rock-eval results show that the S1+S2 and hydrocarbon index range from 0.03 mg/g∼16.34 mg/g (avg.3.6 mg/g) and 6.24–521.32 mg/g (avg. 199.63 mg/g), suggesting most of the kerogen types are type II and III, with small amount of type I. The Tmax ranges from 428 to 496 °C, suggesting low mature to mature stage. The macerals component of morphological macerals presents with certain amount of vitrinite, liptinite and some inertinite. However, the amorphous component takes the dominant part of the macerals with account of 50%–80%. The amorphous components are dominated by sapropelite in the source rock, indicating bacteriolytic amorphous promote the organic generation process. Hopanes and sterane are widely distributed in the source rocks. The biomarker results suggest a mix of planktonic-bacterial and higher plant origins, with wide range of thermal maturity and relatively reducing depositional environment. Abnormal high content of hopanes were observed in the biomarkers, and some special biomarkers such as monomethylalkanes, long-chain-alkyl naphthalenes, aromatized de A-triterpenes, 8,14-seco-triterpenes, and A, B-cyclostane are detected in Chagan Sag. The presence of these compounds suggests that bacterial and microorganisms are of great significance to the generation of hydrocarbon in the source rock in Chagan Sag.

Abstract Background Computed tomography (CT)‐guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) is a very common ablation method that shows a good local tumor control rate in primary and secondary lung tumors. At present, few reports have explored the safety and efficacy of MWA for lung metastases from breast cancer. Methods From January 2012 to January 2018, 32 breast cancer patients with 46 pulmonary metastases received CT‐guided percutaneous MWA. The study was approved by the local institutional review board. The clinical efficacy and complications of MWA were investigated. Results The median follow‐up time was 32 months and the main effective rate was 97.8% (45/46). Five of 46 lesions had local progression (10.9%), with a median progression time of 10 months. The 1‐, 3‐, and 5‐year overall survival (OS) rates were 96.9%, 53.3%, and 17.8%, respectively. The median OS time was 36 months. Among 46 MWA treatments, 11 (23.9%) had massive pneumothorax, two (4.3%) had massive pleural effusion, and two (4.3%) had a pulmonary infection. Conclusion CT‐guided percutaneous MWA may be safe and effective for treating lung metastases from breast cancer.

BackgroundMicrowave ablation (MWA) and intratumoral chemotherapy (ITC) are useful for treating tumors in animal models; however, their clinical use in patients with large non−small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains unknown. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate preliminary outcomes of MWA + ITC for large NSCLC.MethodsFrom November 2015 to April 2020, a total of 44 NSCLC patients with a mean lesion diameter of 6.1 ± 1.5 cm were enrolled and underwent synchronous MWA + ITC procedures. The primary endpoint was local progression-free survival (LPFS); secondary endpoints were progression-free survival (PFS), complications, overall survival (OS), and associated prognostic factors.ResultsThe median follow-up time was 19.0 months. At the 1-month CT scan, complete tumor ablation was observed in 47.7% of cases. Median LPFS was 12.1 months; 1-, 2-, and 3-year LPFS rates were 51.2%, 27.9%, and 13.6%, respectively. A shorter LPFS was significantly associated with large lesions (HR 1.23, 95% CI 1.02–1.49; p = 0.032). Median PFS was 8.1 months; 1-, 2-, and 3-year PFS rates were 29.5%, 18.2%, and 9.1%, respectively. LPFS was significantly superior to PFS (p = 0.046). Median OS was 18.8 months. The 1-, 2-, 3-, and 5-year OS rates were 65.9%, 43.2%, 26.4%, and 10.0%, respectively. In univariate comparisons, high performance status (PS) score, smoking, and larger lesions were significantly correlated with poor survival. In multivariate analysis, advanced age, higher PS score, higher stage, larger lesion, and prior systematic treatment were independent prognostic factors for shorter OS. Adverse events were well tolerated and all patients recovered after appropriate intervention.ConclusionsMWA + ITC is a safe and effective new modality of local treatment for large NSCLC and can significantly prolong LPFS.

“The Expert Group on Tumor Ablation Therapy of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, The Tumor Ablation Committee of Chinese College of Interventionalists, The Society of Tumor Ablation Therapy of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and The Ablation Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology” have organized multidisciplinary experts to formulate the consensus for thermal ablation of pulmonary subsolid nodules or ground-glass nodule (GGN). The expert consensus reviews current literatures and provides clinical practices for thermal ablation of GGN. The main contents include: (1) clinical evaluation of GGN, (2) procedures, indications, contraindications, outcomes evaluation and related complications of thermal ablation for GGN and (3) future development directions.

Purpose The present study retrospectively evaluated the feasibility, safety, and short-term efficacy of computed tomography (CT)-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) to treat multiple synchronous ground-glass opacities (GGOs) of the lung. Materials and Methods From October 2016 to May 2019, 33 patients (9 males and 24 females, mean age: 59.6 ± 10.0 years) with multiple GGOs (103 GGOs with mean size 12.3 ± 6.3 mm) were enrolled in this study. Patients underwent 66 procedures of CT-guided percutaneous MWA. The feasibility, safety, local progression-free survival, and overall survival were evaluated. Results The technical success and technique efficacy rate were 100% and no MWA procedure-related deaths were reported. The median follow-up period was 18.1 (range: 6.8–37.7) months. Major complications included pneumothorax (11/66, 16.7%), pleural effusion (2/66, 3.0%), pneumonia (3/66, 4.5%), and nerve injury (1/66, 1.5%), which were well controlled by appropriate treatment. Minor complications included pneumothorax (38/66, 57.6%), pleural effusion (43/66, 65.2%), hemoptysis (13/66, 19.7%), subcutaneous emphysema (4/66, 6.1%), and hemothorax (2/66, 3.0%). Currently, all patients are alive without local progression or tumor recurrence, despite the relatively insufficient follow-up time. Conclusion CT-guided percutaneous MWA for the treatment of multiple synchronous lung GGOs is feasible, safe, and efficacious over short-term follow-up. It may also be employed as an alternative approach for nonsurgical candidates. A longer follow-up is warranted to evaluate the oncologic outcomes.

Abstract Background Previous studies have documented the therapeutic value of computed tomography (CT)‐guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) for early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, few studies have focused on patients aged 80 years and older. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the safety and clinical outcomes of CT‐guided percutaneous MWA in patients aged 80 years and older with early‐stage peripheral NSCLC. Methods A retrospective analysis of 63 patients aged 80 years and older with cT1a‐2bN0M0 peripheral NSCLC who underwent CT‐guided percutaneous MWA was performed between January 2008 and January 2018 at 11 hospitals in Shandong Province, China. Results The median follow‐up time was 21.0 months. The overall median survival time was 50 months. The cancer‐specific median survival time was not reached in five years. The one‐, two‐, three‐, four‐, and five‐year overall survival rates were 97.1%, 92.6%, 63.4%, 54.4%, and 32.6%, respectively. The one‐, two‐, and three‐year cancer‐specific survival (CSS) rates were 97.9%, 97.9%, and 69.4%, respectively. The four‐ and five‐year CSS rates were not achieved. A total of 14 patients (22.2%) had local progression. The one‐, two‐, three‐, four‐, and five‐year local control rates were 88.8%, 78.8%, 70.3%, 63.9%, and 63.9%, respectively. The mortality rate was 0% within 30 days after the procedure. Major complications included pneumothorax requiring drainage (21.1%), pulmonary infection (4.2%), and pleural effusions requiring drainage (2.8%). Conclusions CT‐guided percutaneous MWA is a safe and effective modality for treating patients aged 80 years and older with early‐stage peripheral NSCLC.

Purpose: Patients with oligometastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) benefit from local control treatments such as surgery or irradiation. The efficacy and safety of microwave ablation (MWA) in these patients was unknown. Material and methods: Between January 2011 and April 2018, eligible patients were retrospectively enrolled. MWA was conducted for both primary lesions and metastatic lesions in patients with synchronous metastases and in metastatic lesions for patients with metachronous metastases. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS), and the secondary endpoints were overall survival (OS), technical success, technique efficacy, and complications. Results: Seventy-nine patients with 103 oligometastatic lesions were enrolled. A total of 20 primary lesions and 96 metastatic lesions were treated with MWA during 101 procedures. Technical success was achieved in all patients. Technique efficacy was achieved in 72 patients (91.1%). The median PFS and OS were 14.0 and 47.8 months, respectively. Forty-four patients (55.7%) developed complications with 21 (29.6%) of these patients developing major complications. All complications were resolved via appropriate medical treatments, and no MWA-related deaths occurred. Conclusion: MWA was safe and effective for patients with oligometastatic NSCLC.

Endmember extraction is a primary and indispensable component of the spectral mixing analysis model applicated to quantitatively retrieve fractional snow cover (FSC) from satellite observation. In this study, a new endmember extraction algorithm, the spatial–spectral–environmental (SSE) endmember extraction algorithm, is developed, in which spatial, spectral and environmental information are integrated together to automatically extract different types of endmembers from moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) images. Then, combining the linear spectral mixture analysis model (LSMA), the SSE endmember extraction algorithm is practically applied to retrieve FSC from standard MODIS surface reflectance products in China. The new algorithm of MODIS FSC retrieval is named as SSEmod. The accuracy of SSEmod is quantitatively validated with 16 higher spatial-resolution FSC maps derived from Landsat 8 binary snow cover maps. Averaged over all regions, the average root-mean-square-error (RMSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) are 0.136 and 0.092, respectively. Simultaneously, we also compared the SSEmod with MODImLAB, MODSCAG and MOD10A1. In all regions, the average RMSE of SSEmod is improved by 2.3%, 2.6% and 5.3% compared to MODImLAB for 0.157, MODSCAG for 0.157 and MOD10A1 for 0.189. Therefore, our SSE endmember extraction algorithm is reliable for the MODIS FSC retrieval and may be also promising to apply other similar satellites in view of its accuracy and efficiency.

Two new phenolic glycosides, named gnaphaffine A and B (compounds 1 and 2), were isolated from Gnaphalium affine. together with six known compounds, including caffeic acid (3), everlastoside L (4), isorhamnetin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), quercetin- 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (6), scutellarein-7-O-β-D-glucoside (7) and api-genin-7-O-β-D- glucopyranoside (8). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including ESI-MS and 2D NMR spectroscopy (HMQC and HMBC). All compounds were evaluated for their anti-complementary activity on the classical pathway of the complement system in vitro.

Objective To compare the curative effects of neurosurgical and neurological treatment on severe basal ganglia hemorrhage, and to propose the operation indications. Methods One hundred cases according with JinGu level Ⅳ b and V were treated with operation or non⁃operation. All cases were accorded with the standard of hypertensive severe basal ganglion and thalamus hematoma level in CT imaging. SPSS 10.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results The total case ⁃ fatality rate in operation group and non⁃operation group was 62%(62/100) and 92%(92/100), respectively (χ2 = 23.744, P = 0.000). The total case⁃fatality rate of Ⅲ -Ⅳ level in CT imaging group and Ⅰ -Ⅱ level in CT imaging group was 84.21% (32/38) and 48.39% (30/62), respectively (P = 0.000). The total case ⁃ fatality rate in craniotomy operation group and non ⁃craniotomy operation group was 54.41% (37/68) and 78.13% (25/32), respectively (χ2 = 7.920, P = 0.048). Conclusion Patients with JinGu level Ⅳ b of severe basal ganglia hemorrhage should be operated actively. Patients in JinGu level Ⅴ group should be operated cautiously referred with the following factors: age (< 60 years old); brain hernia occurrence time (onset time > 12 h); level in CT imaging (Ⅰ -Ⅱ level); systemic disease [no major visceral (heart, lung, liver, kidney) disease and diabetes].
