To build radiomics based OS prediction tools for local advanced cervical cancer (LACC) patients treated by concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) alone or followed by adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT). And, to construct adjuvant chemotherapy decision aid.83 patients treated by ACT following CCRT and 47 patients treated by CCRT were included in the ACT cohort and non-ACT cohort. Radiomics features extracted from primary tumor area of T2-weighted MRI. Two radiomics models were built for ACT and non-ACT cohort in prediction of 3 years overall survival (OS). Elastic Net Regression was applied to the the ACT cohort, meanwhile least absolute shrinkage and selection operator plus support vector machine was applied to the non-ACT cohort. Cox regression models was used in clinical features selection and OS predicting nomograms building.The two radiomics models predicted the 3 years OS of two cohorts. The receiver operator characteristics analysis was used to evaluate the 3 years OS prediction performance of the two radiomics models. The area under the curve of ACT and non-ACT cohort model were 0.832 and 0.879, respectively. Patients were stratified into low-risk group and high-risk group determined by radiomics models and nomograms, respectively. And, the low-risk group patients present significantly increased OS, progression-free survival, local regional control, and metastasis free survival compare with high-risk group (P 0.05). Meanwhile the prognosis prediction performance of radiomics model and nomogram is superior to the prognosis prediction performance of Figo stage.The two radiomics model and the two nomograms is a prognosis predictor of LACC patients treated by CCRT alone or followed by ACT.

A systematic literature review to validate the conclusions with regard to stranded seeds versus loose seeds. Published data for this review were identified by searching the PubMed databases. PD90, PV100, PV150, UD30, and RV100 acquired during the perioperative period and the postoperative period were analyzed by meta-analysis. Based on these studies, in addition to the reduction of migration and displacement, stranded seeds had some dosimetric advantages, especially in dose homogeneity and coverage of target area due to its connection characteristics. We also noticed implanted seeds usually excessive both in stranded seeds group and loose seed group. Intraoperatively built custom links will prolong operation time, with the proficiency of technology, the prolonged time gradually decreases.

The fluidization of quartz in the fluidized bed has great influence on the combustion and gasification of refuse-derived fuel (RDF). The combined computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and discrete element method (DEM) approach was used to explore the gas-solid hydrodynamics and mixing characteristics in a three-dimensional fluidized bed. All numerical analyses were performed referring to the experiments (Goldschmidt, Beetstra, and Kuipers 2004). The simulation results indicated that the quartz volume fraction agrees well with the experimental data. Furthermore, the cylinder-shaped RDF particles can mix well with the quartz particles as they were added from upside. For binary systems, it is necessary to investigate solid flow characteristics as well as pressure drops and examine the influence of superficial gas velocity on the solid mixing. The fluidization of quartz particles as bed materials in the fluidized bed has significant influences on the combustion and gasification of refused derived fuels. Three-dimensional (3-D) simulations and analyses are performed for Geldart B particles using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method based on the kinetic theory of granular flows (KTGF) to investigate the hydrodynamic behavior. The drag models of Syamlal–O’Brien, Gidaspow, and Wen and Yu are selected to analyze the applicability of the kinetic model. The pressure drop, velocity distribution and solid volume fraction are studied numerically when the gas inlet velocity is changed. The results show that the increase of superficial gas velocity would lead to heterogeneous expansion of solid volume fraction and velocity distributions in both the dense phase zone and free board with a similar distribution pattern. The near wall particles form a dense phase structure with the solid volume fraction being greater than 0.3.
