2. The White-light Superflares from Cool Stars in GWAC Triggers

M-type stars are the ones that flare most frequently, but how big their maximum flare energy can reach is still unknown. We present 163 flares from 162 individual M2 through L1-type stars that triggered the GWAC, with flare energies ranging from 10 ^32.2 to 10 ^36.4 erg. The flare amplitudes range from △ G = 0.84 to ∼10 mag. Flare energy increases with stellar surface temperature ( T _eff ) but both △ G and equivalent duration ${\mathrm{log}}_{10}(\mathrm{ED})$ seem to be independent of T _eff . Combining periods detected from light curves of TESS and K2, spectra from LAMOST, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the 2.16 m telescope, and the Gaia DR3 data, we found that these GWAC flare stars are young. For the stars that have spectra, we found that these stars are in or very near the saturation region, and ${\mathrm{log}}_{10}({L}_{{\rm{H}}\alpha }/{L}_{\mathrm{bol}})$ is lower for M7–L1 stars than for M2–M6 stars. We also studied the relation between GWAC flare bolometric energy E _bol and stellar hemispherical area S , and found that ${\mathrm{log}}_{10}{E}_{\mathrm{bol}}$ (in erg) increases with increasing S (in square centimeters), and the maximum flare energy ${\mathrm{log}}_{10}{E}_{\mathrm{bol},\ \max }\geqslant {\mathrm{log}}_{10}S+14.25$ . For M7–L1 stars, there seem to be other factors limiting their maximum flare energies in addition to the stellar hemispherical area.

3. ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma ziziphi’ Changes the Metabolite Composition of Jujube Tree Leaves and Affects the Feeding Behavior of Its Insect Vector Hishimonus hamatus Kuoh

Hishimonus hamatus Kuoh is a leafhopper species native to China that feeds on Chinese jujube leaves. This leafhopper species has been verified to transmit jujube witches’ broom (JWB) disease, caused by phytoplasma, a fatal plant pathogen, which belongs to the phytoplasma subgroup 16SrV-B. The transmission of JWB phytoplasma largely relies on the feeding behavior of piercing–sucking leafhoppers. However, the specific mechanisms behind how and why the infection of JWB influences the feeding behavior of these leafhoppers are not fully understood. To address this, a study was conducted to compare the feeding patterns of H. hamatus when feeding JWB-infested jujube leaves to healthy leaves using the electrical penetration graph (EPG) technique. Then, a widely targeted metabolome analysis was performed to identify differences in the metabolite composition of JWB-infected jujube leaves and that of healthy jujube leaves. The results of EPG analyses revealed that when feeding on JWB-infected jujube leaves, H. hamatus exhibited an increased frequency of phloem ingestion and spent longer in the phloem feeding phase compared to when feeding on healthy leaves. In addition, the results of metabolomic analyses showed that JWB-infected leaves accumulated higher levels of small-molecular carbohydrates, free amino acids, and free fatty acids, as well as lower levels of lignans, coumarins and triterpenoids compared to healthy leaves. The above results indicated that the H. hamatus preferentially fed on the phloem of infected leaves, which seems to be linked to the transmission of the JWB phytoplasma. The results of metabolomic analyses partially imply that the chemical compounds might play a role in making the infected leaves more attractive to H. hamatus for feeding.

Abstract. Background:. The prevalence of skin diseases and diabetes mellitus (DM) are prominent around the world. The current scope of knowledge regarding the prevalence of skin diseases and comorbidities with type 2 DM (T2DM) is limited, leading to limited recognition of the correlations between skin diseases and T2DM. Methods:. We collected 383 subjects from the Da Qing Diabetes Study during the period from July 9th to September 1st, 2016. The subjects were categorized into three groups: Normal glucose tolerance (NGT), impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), and T2DM. The prevalence and clinical characteristics of skin diseases were recorded and investigated. Results:. In this cross-sectional study, 383 individuals with ages ranging from 53 to 89-year-old were recruited. The overall prevalence of skin diseases was 93.5%, and 75.7% of individuals had two or more kinds of skin diseases. Additionally, there were 47 kinds of comorbid skin diseases in patients with T2DM, of which eight kinds of skin diseases had a prevalence >10%. The prevalence of skin diseases in NGT, IGT, and T2DM groups were 93.3%, 91.5%, and 96.6%, respectively; stratified analysis by categories showed a statistically significant difference in “disturbances of pigmentation” and “neurological and psychogenic dermatoses”. The duration of T2DM also significantly associated with the prevalence of “disturbances of pigmentation” and “neurological and psychogenic dermatoses”. ABSTRACT: The Pamir Plateau comprises a series of crustal fragments that successively accreted to the Eurasian margin preceded the India-Asia collision, is an ideal place to study the Mesozoic tectonics. The authors investigate the southern Tashkorgan area, northeastern Pamir Plateau, where Mesozoic metamorphic and igneous rocks are exposed. New structural and biotite 40Ar-39Ar age data are presented. Two stages of intense deformation in the metamorphic rocks are identified, which are unconformably covered by the Early Cretaceous sediment. Two high-grade metamorphic rocks yielding 128.4 ± 0.8 Ma and 144.5 ± 0.9 Ma 40Ar-39Ar ages indicate that the samples experienced an Early Cretaceous cooling event. Combined with previous studies, it is proposed that the Early Cretaceous tectonic records in the southern Tashkorgan region are associated with Andean-style orogenesis. They are the results of the flat/low-angle subduction of the Neotethyan oceanic lithosphere.©2021 China Geology Editorial Office.

6. Discovery of Two Different Full Disk Evolutionary Patterns of M-type T Tauri Stars with LAMOST DR8

The full disk, full of gas and dust, determines the upper limit of planet masses, and its lifetime is critical for planet formation, especially for giant planets. In this work, we studied the evolutionary timescales of the full disks of T Tauri stars (TTSs) and their relations to accretion. Combined with Gaia EDR3, Two Micron All Sky Survey, and Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer data, 1077 disk-bearing TTS candidates were found in LAMOST DR8, and stellar parameters were obtained. Among them, 783 are newly classified by spectra as classical T Tauri stars (CTTSs; 169) or weak-lined T Tauri stars (WTTSs). Based on EW and FWHM of H α , 157 TTSs in accretion were identified, with ∼82% also having full disks. For TTSs with M < 0.35 M _☉ , about 80% seem to already lose their full disks at ∼0.1 Myr, which may explain their lower mass, while the remaining 20% with full disks evolve at similar rates of non-full disks within 5 Myr, allowing enough time and material to form giant planets. The fraction of accreting TTSs to disk-bearing TTSs is stable at ∼10% and can last ∼5–10 Myr, suggesting that full disks and accretion evolve with similar rates as non-full disks. For TTSs with M > 0.35 M _☉ , almost all full disks can survive more than 0.1 Myr, most for 1 Myr and some even for 20 Myr. For TTSs with M > 0.35 M _☉ , almost all full disks can survive more than 0.1 Myr, most for 1 Myr, and some even for 20 Myr, which implies planets are more likely to be formed in their disks than those of M < 0.35 M _☉ , and thus M dwarfs with M > 0.35 M _☉ can have more planets. The fraction of full-disk TTSs to disk-bearing TTSs decreases with age following the relation f ∝ t ^−0.35 , and similar relations existed in the fraction of accreting TTSs and the fraction of full-disk CTTSs, suggesting faster full disks and accretion evolution than non-full disks. For full-disk stars, the ratio of accretion of lower-mass stars is systematically lower than that of higher-mass stars, confirming the dependence of accretion on stellar mass, which may be reflective of an observational bias in the detection of accretion levels, with the lower-mass stars crossing below the detection threshold earlier than higher-mass stars.

7. White-light Superflare and Long-term Activity of the Nearby M7-type Binary EI Cnc Observed with GWAC System

Stellar white-light flares are believed to play an essential role in the physical and chemical properties of the atmosphere of the surrounding exoplanets. Here we report an optical monitoring campaign on the nearby flaring system EI Cnc carried out by the Ground-based Wide Angle Camera (GWAC) and its dedicated follow-up telescope. A superflare, coming from the brighter component EI CncA, was detected and observed, in which four components are required to properly model the complex decay light curve. The lower limit of flare energy in the R − band is estimated to be 3.3 × 10 ^32 erg. A total of 27 flares are additionally detected from the GWAC archive data with a total duration of 290 hr. The inferred cumulative flare frequency distribution follows a quite shallow power-law function with a slope of β = − 0.50 ± 0.03 over the energy range between 10 ^30 and 10 ^33 erg, which reinforces the trend that stars cooler than M4 show enhanced superflare activity. The flares identified in EI Cnc enable us to extend the τ – E relationship previously established in the white-light superflares of solar-type stars down to an energy as low as ∼10 ^30 erg (i.e., by 3 orders): τ ∝ E ^0.42±0.02 , which suggests a common flare mechanism for stars with a type from M to solar-like and implies an invariant of B ^1/3 υ _A in the white-light flares.

8. Functional Analysis of the Chemosensory Protein GmolCSP8 From the Oriental Fruit Moth, Grapholita molesta (Busck) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)

Chemosensory proteins (CSPs) belong to a family of small water-soluble proteins that can selectively bind and transport odorant molecules for olfactory communication in insects. To date, their definite physiological functions in olfaction remain controversial when compared with odorant binding proteins (OBPs). To investigate the functions of CSPs in the oriental fruit moth Grapholita molesta, we determined the tissue expression patterns and binding properties of the CSP, GmolCSP8. The key binding sites of GmolCSP8 with a representative ligand were evaluated using molecular flexible docking, site-directed mutagenesis and ligand-binding experiments. Multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis showed that GmolCSP8 possesses a typical conserved four cysteines motif and shares high sequence identity with some CSP members of other Lepidopteran insects. GmolCSP8 was predominantly expressed in the wings and antennae of both male and female adults and may be involve in contact chemoreception. Recombinant GmolCSP8 (rGmolCSP8) exhibited specific-binding affinities to small aliphatic alcohols (C4–12) and had the strongest binding affinity to 1-hexanol. The three-dimensional structure of GmolCSP8 was constructed using the structure of sgCSP4 as a template. Site-directed mutagenesis and ligand-binding experiments confirmed that Thr27 is the key binding site in GmolCSP8 for 1-hexanol binding, because this residue can form hydrogen bond with the oxygen atom of the hydroxyl group in 1-hexanol, and Leu30 may play an important role in binding to 1-hexanol. We found that pH significantly affected the binding affinities of rGmolCSP8 to ligand, revealing that ligand-binding and -release by this protein is related to a pH-dependent conformational transition. Based on these results, we infer that GmolCSP8 may participate in the recognition and transportation of 1-hexanol and other small aliphatic alcohols.

9. Molecular and Functional Characterization of Odorant Binding Protein 7 From the Oriental Fruit Moth Grapholita molesta (Busck) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)

Odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) are widely and abundantly distributed in the insect sensillar lymph and are essential for insect olfactory processes. The OBPs can capture and transfer odor molecules across the sensillum lymph to odorant receptors and trigger the signal transduction pathway. In this study, a putative OBP gene, GmolOBP7, was cloned using specific-primers, based on the annotated unigene which forms the antennal transcriptome of Grapholita molesta. Real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis revealed that GmolOBP7 was highly expressed in the wings of males and the antennae of both male and female adult moths, while low levels were expressed in other tissues. The recombinant GmolOBP7 (rGmolOBP7) was successfully expressed and purified via Ni-ion affinity chromatography. The results of binding assays revealed that rGmolOBP7 exhibited a high binding affinity to the minor sex pheromone 1-dodecanol containing Ki of 7.48 μM and had high binding capacities to the host-plant volatiles, such as pear ester, lauraldehyde and α-ocimene. RNA-interference experiments were performed to further assess the function of GmolOBP7. qRT-PCR showed that the levels of mRNA transcripts significantly declined in 1 and 2 day old male and female moths, treated with GmolOBP7 dsRNA, compared with non-injection controls. The EAG responses of dsRNA-injected males and females to pear ester, as well as the EAG responses of dsRNA-injected males to 1-dodecanol, were significantly reduced compared to the GFP-dsRNA-injected and non-injected controls. We therefore infer that GmolOBP7 has a dual function in the perception and recognition of the host-plant volatiles and sex pheromones.

We demonstrate a compact blue and orange-two color continuous wave laser source emitting at 487 nm and from 597.4 to 600.3 nm, respectively. The temperature tunable coherent orange radiation is achieved by frequency mixing 974 nm laser diode (LD) and a C-band amplified spontaneous emission laser source while the temperature insensitive blue radiation is generated by second-order quasi-phase-matching frequency doubling of 974 nm LD. We implement the simultaneous nonlinear processes in a single magnesium oxide doped periodically poled lithium niobate bulk crystal without the need of an aperiodic design.

11. A Tunable CW Orange Laser Based on a Cascaded MgO:PPLN Single-Pass Sum-Frequency Generation Module

We report an all-solid-state continuous wave (CW) tunable orange laser based on cascaded single-pass sum-frequency generation with fundamental wavelengths at 1545.7 and 975.2 nm using two quasi-phase-matched (QPM) MgO-doped periodically poled lithium niobate (MgO:PPLN) crystals. Up to 10 mW of orange laser is generated in the cascaded module corresponding to a 10.4%/W nonlinear conversion efficiency. The orange output showed a temperature tuning rate of ~0.05 nm/°C, and the beam quality (M2) value of the orange laser was about 2.0. We use this technique to combine the high efficiency offered by uniformly poled crystals and the broad input wavelength acceptance characteristic of step-chirped structures.

14. Functional disparity of four pheromone-binding proteins from the plum fruit moth Grapholita funebrana Treitscheke in detection of sex pheromone components

Grapholita funebrana, also known as the plum fruit moth, is an oligophagous pest species that causes enormous economic losses of the fruits of Rosaceae. An eco-friendly method for the control of G. funebrana besides chemical control has not yet been developed. The sex pheromone communication system plays an important role in moth courtship and mating, in which pheromone-binding proteins (PBPs) are critical. In this research, we identified four PBPs, namely, GfunPBP1.1, GfunPBP1.2, GfunPBP2, and GfunPBP3, from the antennae of G. funebrana. The results of real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) showed that all four GfunPBPs were overwhelmingly expressed in the antennae and that GfunPBP1.2 and GfunPBP2 showed male-biased expression patterns, whereas GfunPBP1.1 and GfunPBP3 were equally expressed between sexes. The results of ligand-binding assays illustrated that although all four recombinant GfunPBPs (rGfunPBPs) had binding activity with the tested sex pheromone compounds, their preferred ligands were significantly different. rGfunPBP2 had the strongest binding affinity to Z8-12:Ac and Z8-12:OH; rGfunPBP1.1 preferred to bind Z8-14:Ac, Z10-14:Ac, and 12:OH more than to the other three GfunPBPs; and rGfunPBP1.2 exhibited stronger binding affinity to E8-12:Ac than to the other rGfunPBPs. Molecular docking results demonstrated that hydrophobic forces, especially van der Waals forces and hydrogen bonds, were the most important forces that maintained GfunPBP-pheromone ligand complexes. This study will improve our understanding of the sex pheromone recognition mechanisms of G. funebrana and promote the development of novel strategies for controlling G. funebrana.

The Pamir Plateau comprises a series of crustal fragments that successively accreted to the Eurasian margin preceded the India-Asia collision, is an ideal place to study the Mesozoic tectonics. The authors investigate the southern Tashkorgan area, northeastern Pamir Plateau, where Mesozoic metamorphic and igneous rocks are exposed. New structural and biotite 40Ar-39Ar age data are presented. Two stages of intense deformation in the metamorphic rocks are identified, which are unconformably covered by the Early Cretaceous sediment. Two high-grade metamorphic rocks yielding 128.4 ± 0.8 Ma and 144.5 ± 0.9 Ma 40Ar-39Ar ages indicate that the samples experienced an Early Cretaceous cooling event. Combined with previous studies, it is proposed that the Early Cretaceous tectonic records in the southern Tashkorgan region are associated with Andean-style orogenesis. They are the results of the flat/low-angle subduction of the Neotethyan oceanic lithosphere. ©2021 China Geology Editorial Office.

Insect general odorant-binding proteins (GOBPs) play irreplaceable roles in filtering, binding, and transporting host odorants to olfactory receptors. Grapholita funebrana (Treitscheke) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), an economically important pest of fruit crops, uses fruit volatiles as cues to locate host plants. However, the functions of GOBPs in G. funebrana are still unknown. Three GOBP genes, namely, GfunGOBP1, GfunGOBP2, and GfunGOBP3, were cloned, and their expression profiles in different tissues were detected by the method of real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). The binding properties of recombinant GfunGOBPs (rGfunGOBPs) to various ligands were investigated via fluorescence binding assays. The three GfunGOBPs were mainly expressed in the antennae of both male and female moths. All these three rGfunGOBPs could bind to sex pheromones, while having varying affinities toward these pheromones. The three rGfunGOBPs also displayed a wide range of ligand-binding spectrums with tested host odorants. The rGfunGOBP1, rGfunGOBP2, and rGfunGOBP3 bound to 34, 33, and 30 out of the 41 tested odorants, respectively. Three rGfunGOBPs had overlapping binding activities to β-myrcene, (-)-α-phellandrene, and ethyl isovalerate with the Ki less than 3.0 μM. The rGfunGOBP1 and rGfunGOBP3 could selectively bind to several insecticides, whereas rGfunGOBP2 could not. Three rGfunGOBPs had the dual functions of selectively binding to sex pheromones and host odorants. Moreover, the rGfunGOBP1 and rGfunGOBP3 can also serve as ‘signal proteins’ and bind to different insecticides. This study contributed to elucidating the potential molecular mechanism of the olfaction for G. funebrana, and thereby promotes the development of effective botanical attractants or pheromone synergists to control G. funebrana.

In the archive of the Ground Wide Angle Camera (GWAC), we found 43 white light flares from 43 stars, among which, three are sympathetic or homologous flares, and one of them also has a quasi-periodic pulsation with a period of $13.0\pm1.5$ minutes. Among these 43 flare stars, there are 19 new active stars and 41 stars that have available TESS and/or K2 light curves, from which we found 931 stellar flares. We also obtained rotational or orbital periods of 34 GWAC flare stars, of which 33 are less than 5.4 days, and ephemerides of three eclipsing binaries from these light curves. Combining with low resolution spectra from LAMOST and the Xinglong 2.16m telescope, we found that $L_{\rm H\alpha}/L_{\rm bol}$ are in the saturation region in the rotation-activity diagram. From the LAMOST medium-resolution spectrum, we found that Star \#3 (HAT 178-02667) has double H$\alpha$ emissions which imply it is a binary, and two components are both active stars. Thirteen stars have flare frequency distributions (FFDs) from TESS and/or K2 light curves. These FFDs show that the flares detected by GWAC can occur at a frequency of 0.5 to 9.5 yr$^{-1}$. The impact of flares on habitable planets was also studied based on these FFDs, and flares from some GWAC flare stars may produce enough energetic flares to destroy ozone layers, but none can trigger prebiotic chemistry on their habitable planets., Comment: 20 pages, 9 figures, 3 tables

The ligand-binding function of odorant binding proteins (OBPs) that are expressed exclusively or enriched in antennae are well-studied, whilst the ligand binding properties of relatively low expressed OBPs in insect antennae are still unclear. Here, two low expressed GmolOBPs (namely GmolOBP12 and GmolOBP16) were cloned based on the antennal transcriptome of Grapholita molesta, and then their expression profiles and binding properties were investigated via real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) and fluorescence binding assays, respectively. Multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic tree analyses displayed that both of GmolOBP12 and GmolOBP16 possessed the typical six-cysteine motifs unique to the classic OBPs subfamily and were classified as such. Although the abundance of transcripts of GmolOBP12 and GmolOBP16 were relatively low compared to that of many other OBPs in the antennal transcriptome of G. molesta, qRT-PCR results indicated that the transcript levels of GmolOBP12 and GmolOBP16 in antennae were significantly higher than those in other tissues. GmolOBP12 displayed higher expression level in male antennae than in female antennae, while the transcript level of GmolOBP16 in antennae was similar for both sexes. Both recombinant GmolOBP12 and GmolOBP16 exhibited strong binding affinities to the sex pheromone (Z)-8-dodecenyl alcohol and host-plant volatile pear ester. Besides, rGmolOBP12 showed outstanding binding affinities to (E)-2-hexenal, benzaldehyde, 1-hexanol, and (Z)-3-hexenyl acetate with Ki values of 4.21, 6.81, 4.68 and 4.68 μM, respectively. rGmolOBP16 had moderate binding abilities with hexanal, decanal, 1-hexanol, methyl myristate and benzonitrile. We speculated that GmolOBP12 may have dual functions in recognition of green leaf volatiles and sex pheromone components and GmolOBP16 may participate in the detection of host-plant volatiles in chemoreception.

The micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) digital sensors have been widely used in various fields, e.g., industrial application, navigation and positioning, etc. In order to make full use of the resolution of a sensor, people tend to choose the lower range, which often leads to the out-of-range problem. In fact, it is a tradeoff among resolution, range, and efficiency. It is possible to optimize two of these, but difficult to optimize all three. Therefore, a tri-adaptive method, i.e., adaptive range, adaptive sampling frequency, and adaptive output frequency, is proposed in this paper. We set up two test platforms based on the two common MEMS digital sensors: MPU6050 and MPU9250. The turntable experiments and numerical simulation experiments are conducted to verify the performance of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method can significantly improve resolution based on the tradeoff among resolution, range, and efficiency. Besides, the proposed method is of generalization, which can be applied in industrial robots, medical electronics, and other fields.

Objective: The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the research hotspots and future trends of immune-related adverse events induced by immune checkpoint inhibitors, offering valuable insights for researchers in this field. Methodology: Using the visual analysis software, this study conducted quantitative statistics and visualization research on the relevant literature concerning immune-related adverse events caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors in the Web of Science Core Collection Database. By evaluating the publication trends, countries, institutions, keywords, research status, cited documents, and document co-citations, among several others, the discussion revolved around the hot spots and future development trends in this field and provided references for future research. Findings and conclusions: A total of 514 English articles were included, and the top three countries in the research field at the time of this study were the United States, Japan, and China. More specifically, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Massachusetts General Hospital have been the top three research institutes with more than 10 publications. The frequency of keyword use linked to immune-related adverse events caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors in literature research has been steadily growing over the years. Additionally, the research with respect to the disease focuses on melanoma, cell lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and breast cancer. In the context of drugs, cancer-related research has mainly focused on the combined use of nivolumab, pembrolizumab, ipilimumab, and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Meanwhile, research on adverse events has delved into the immune checkpoint inhibitors causing vitiligo, thyroid dysfunction, pancreatitis, cholangitis, and rheumatism. Related studies cover acute arthritis, myositis, acute kidney injury, as well as the combination therapy of immune checkpoint inhibitors and docetaxel, management of irAEs in cancer immunotherapy, and biomarkers of immune adverse reactions of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Finally, case report studies of immune adverse reactions caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors could serve as research hotspots in the future.

Ralstonia solanacearum strain PRS-84 used in this study was isolated from diseased Pogostemon cablin plants in our previous study.The competent cells of R.solanacearum strain PRS-84 were transformed by electroporation with Tn5 transposon and then were plated on TTC agar plates containing kanamycin to select for kanamycin-resistant colonies.The detection of kanamycin-resistant gene in kanamycin-resistant colonies was performed by PCR.Further,the flanking fragments of Tn5 transposon insertion site in the mutants were amplified by inverse PCR,and the flanking fragments were sequenced and analyzed.The results indicated that the kanamycin-resistant colonies were obtained in the transformation experiment of R.solanacearum strain PRS-84 by electroporation with Tn5 transposon.A specific band of approximately 700 bp was amplified by PCR from kanamycin-resistant colonies.The flanking sequences of Tn5 transposon insertion site in the transformants were obtained by inverse PCR.After sequencing and sequence analysis of Tn5 transposon insertion site in mutants,we preliminarily speculated that the Tn5 transposon inserted in the typ A gene,rec O gene and gid A gene in three mutants,respectively.A random mutagenesis system of R.solanacearum strain PRS-84 by electroporation with Tn5 transposon has been established,and the Tn5 insertion mutants have been obtained.This study might facilitate the creation of mutant library and the discovery of the virulence gene of R.solanacearum isolated from P.cablin.

27. Irregular changes in H�� emission line of V423 Aur observed by LAMOST Medium-Resolution Spectrographs

We obtained 7 spectra of the Be star V423 Aur on Dec. 5th, 2017 using the LAMOST Medium-Resolution Spectrograph with exposures from 600 to 1200 seconds. These spectra show the irregular H{\alpha} emission line profile variations (LPVs). In the seven spectra, from the 4th to 7th, the left part of H{\alpha} profile even show excess. However, no variation can be seen from the follow-up observation of photometry by 1.26-m telescope and High-Resolution spectra by 2.16-m telescope. According to the High-Resolution spectra, we conclude that it is a B7V type star with E(B-V)= 0.709{\pm}0.036 and its vsini is {\sim} 221.8km/s. The short-term H{\alpha} LPVs could be explained as a result of the transient ejection of matter from rotating disk or shell around V423 Aur., Comment: Accepted for publication in RAA

The ON stars are a rare subtype of O stars, of uncertain origin. We report two new, rapidly-rotating ON stars found in data acquired with the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope, LAMOST. LS I +61 28 is an ON8.5 Vn dwarf with a projected equatorial rotational velocity of $v_{\textrm e}\sin{i} \simeq 298$ km$\;$s$^{-1}$, while HDE 236672 is an ON9 IVn subgiant with $v_{\textrm e}\sin{i} \simeq 253$ km$\;$s$^{-1}$ The former is the first rapidly-rotating ON dwarf to be found, and the latter is only the third ON subgiant. The luminosity classes of non-supergiant ON stars appear to be influenced by the axial inclination angle $i$: the rapidly-rotating giants are close to equator-on, while ON dwarfs with lower $v_{\textrm e}\sin{i}$ values are viewed more nearly pole-on. Sitodiplosis mosellana, a periodic but devastating wheat pest, relies on wheat spike volatiles as a cue in selecting hosts for oviposition. Insect odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) are thought to play essential roles in filtering, binding and transporting hydrophobic odorant molecules to specific receptors. To date, the molecular mechanisms underlying S. mosellana olfaction are poorly understood. Here, three S. mosellana antenna-specific OBP genes, SmosOBP11, 16 and 21, were cloned and bacterially expressed. Binding properties of the recombinant proteins to 28 volatiles emitted from wheat spikes were investigated using fluorescence competitive binding assays. Sequence analysis suggested that these SmosOBPs belong to the Classic OBP subfamily. Ligand-binding analysis showed that all three SmosOBPs preferentially bound alcohol, ester and ketone compounds, and SmosOBP11 and 16 also selectively bound terpenoid compounds. In particular, the three SmosOBPs had high binding affinities (Ki < 20 μmol/L) to 3-hexanol and cis-3-hexenylacetate that elicited strong electroantennogram (EAG) response from female antennae. In addition, SmosOBP11 displayed significantly higher binding (Ki < 8 μmol/L) than SmosOBP16 and 21 to 1-octen-3-ol, D-panthenol, α-pinene and heptyl acetate which elicited significant EAG response, suggesting that SmosOBP11 plays a major role in recognition and transportation of these volatiles. These findings have provided important insight into the molecular mechanism by which S. mosellana specifically recognizes plant volatiles for host selection, and have facilitated identification of effective volatile attractants that are potentially useful for pest monitoring and trapping.

Currently large sky area spectral surveys like SDSS, 2dF, and LAMOST, using the new generation of telescopes and observatories, have provided massive spectral data sets for astronomical research. Most of the data can be automatically handled with pipelines, but visually inspection by human eyes is still necessary in several situations, like low SNR spectra, QSO recognition and peculiar spectra mining. Using ASERA, A Spectrum Eye Recognition Assistant, we can set up a team spectral inspection platform. On a preselected spectral data set, members of a team can individually view spectra one by one, find the best match template and estimate the redshift. Results from different members will be gathered and merged to raise the team work efficiency. ASERA mainly targets the spectra of SDSS and LAMOST fits data formats. Other formats can be supported with some conversion. Spectral templates from SDSS and LAMOST pipelines are embedded and users can easily add their own templates. Convenient cross identification interfaces with SDSS, SIMBAD, VIZIER, NED and DSS are also provided. An application example targeting finding strong emission line spectra from LAMOST DR2 is presented.

Rotation and binary interaction play important roles in understanding the nature of massive stars (>8 Msun). Some interesting transients, such as the long-duration gamma-ray bursts, are thought to be originated from fast-rotating massive stars. Because the strong stellar wind can effectively spin down a metal-rich massive star with fast rotation, it is very hard to find single massive stars rotating critically in the Galaxy. In the present work reported is the discovery of the fastest rotator in the Galaxy, LAMOST J040643.69+542347.8, with a projected rotational velocity vsini ~540 km/s, which is ~ 100 km/s faster than that of the previous record holder HD 191423. The star has a spectral type of O6.5 Vnnn(f)p. Its He I 4471 absorption line is blueshifted and asymmetric, while its He II 4686 and Ha have central absorption reversals in their emissions. It is also a runaway star, which implies an origin in a close binary interaction. Compared to VFTS 285 and VFTS 102 (their vsini ~ 610 km/s) in the Large Magellanic Cloud, LAMOST J040643.69+542347.8 has its own peculiar spectral characteristics and earlier spectral type. Moreover, LAMOST J040643.69+542347.8 is bright (B ~ 13.9 mag) enough to allow future high-resolution spectroscopic follow-ups., 7 pages, 3 figures, 1 table. Accepted by the ApJ Letter

Combining data from Gaia DR2, SDSS DR14 and LAMOST DR6, we update the fit to model of the properties of the stellar stream GD-1 and find that it has an age of $\sim 13$ Gyr, [Fe/H] of $-2.2\pm 0.12$, and a distance from the sun of $\sim 8$ kpc. We tabulate 6D phase-space fiducial points along the GD-1 stream orbit over a 90$^\circ$ arc. The fitted orbit shows that the stream has an eccentricity $e \sim 0.3$, perigalacticon of 14.2 kpc, apogalacticon of 27.0 kpc and inclination $i \sim 40^{\circ}$. There is evidence along the arc for 4 candidate stellar overdensities, one candidate gap, two candidate stellar underdensities and is cut off at $\phi_1 \sim 2^{\circ}$ (in the stream-aligned $(\phi_1,\phi_2)$ coordinate system of \citet{kop10}). The spur originating at $\phi_1 \sim -40^{\circ}$ implies stars were pulled away from the stream trace by an encounter (potentially a dark matter subhalo). The narrowest place ( FWHM $\sim 44.6$ pc) of the GD-1 trace is at $(\phi_1, \phi_2^c) \sim (-14^{\circ}, 0.15^{\circ})$, which is $\sim (178.18^{\circ}, 52.19^{\circ})$ in (R. A., Decl.), where the progenitor is possibly located. We also find six BHB and 10 BS spectroscopic stars in the GD-1 stream., Comment: 21 pages, 16 figures, 8 tables

Stars of spectral type Oe are very rare. To date, only 13 Oe stars have been identified within our Galaxy. In this paper, we present six new Oe stars and four new B0e stars found in LAMOST DR5. Repeated spectral observations of the same Oe stars show some emission line variability. The H$\beta$ emission of TYC 4801-17-1 shows rapid V/R variation. Phase lags in the V/R ratio of TYC 4801-17-1 spectra are also seen. We found the unusual O4.5 star RL 128 is an Oe star with variable H$\alpha$ intensity and its Ca II triplet emission appears when H$\alpha$ emission reaches maximum intensity. Odorant binding proteins (OBPs) act in recognizing odor molecules and their most well-studied functions are transporting odors across the sensillum lymph to olfactory receptor neurons within the insect antennal sensillum. The adults of Grapholita molesta highly depend on olfactory cues in locating host plants and selecting oviposition sites, in which OBPs play an important role in perceiving and recognizing host plant volatiles. Exploring the physiological function of OBPs could facilitate our understanding of their importance in insects' chemical communication. In this study, three OBP genes were cloned and named GmolOBP4, GmolOBP5, and GmolOBP10. Quantitative real-time PCR results indicated that GmolOBP4 and GmolOBP10 were predominantly expressed in adult antennae and GmolOBP5 was expressed in multiple tissues, including head, legs, and wings in addition to antennae. The binding affinities of the three recombinant GmolOBPs (rGmolOBPs) with four sex pheromone components and twenty-nine host plant volatiles were measured using 1-N-Phenyl-naphthylamine as a fluorescence probe. The three rGmolOBPs exhibited specific binding properties to potential ligands, GmolOBP4 and GmolOBP10 bound to minor sex pheromone components, such as (Z)-8-dodecenyl alcohol and dodecanol, respectively. rGmolOBP4 showed intermediate binding ability with hexanal, benzyl alcohol, and pear ester, rGmolOBP5 had a weak affinity for benzaldehyde, pear ester and, methyl jasmonate, and rGmolOBP10 showed strong binding capacity toward hexanol, decanol, and α-ocimene. We speculate that the GmolOBP4 and GmolOBP10 have dual functions in perception and recognition of host plant volatiles and sex pheromone components, while GmolOBP5 may serve other function(s).

Odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) act in insect olfactory processes. OBPs are expressed in the olfactory organs and serve in binding and transport of hydrophobic odorants through the sensillum lymph to olfactory receptor neurons within the antennal sensilla. In this study, three OBP genes were cloned from the antennal transcriptome database of Grapholita molesta via reverse-transcription PCR. Recombinant GmolOBPs (rGmolOBPs) were expressed in a prokaryotic expression system and enriched via Ni ion affinity chromatography. The binding properties of the three rGmolOBPs to four sex pheromones and 30 host-plant volatiles were investigated in fluorescence ligand-binding assays. The results demonstrated that rGmolOBP8, rGmolOBP11, and rGmolOBP15 exhibited high binding affinities with the major sex pheromone components (E)-8-dodecenyl acetate, (Z)-8-dodecenyl alcohol, and dodecanol. The volatiles emitted from peach and pear, decanal, butyl hexanoate, and α-ocimene, also showed binding affinities to rGmolOBP8 and rGmolOBP11. Hexanal, heptanal, and α-pinene showed strong binding affinities to rGmolOBP15. Results of the electrophysiological recording experiments and previous behavior bioassays indicated that adult insects had strong electroantennogram and behavioral responses toward butyl hexanoate, hexanal, and heptanal. We infer that the GmolOBP8 and GmolOBP11 have dual functions in perception and recognition of host-plant volatiles and sex pheromones, while GmolOBP15 was mainly involved in plant volatile odorants' perception.

We report the discovery of 64 luminous infrared galaxies, based on new observations of 20 square degrees from the LAMOST Complete Spectroscopic Survey of Pointing Area at the Southern Galactic Cap and the WISE 22 μ m catalog from the AllWISE Data Release. Half of them are classified as late-type spirals and the others are classified as peculiar/compact galaxies. The peculiar/compact galaxies tend to exhibit higher luminosities and lower stellar masses. We also separate AGNs from HII galaxies in a simple way by examining LAMOST spectra. Those cases show that host AGNs are easily distinguished from others in the mid-infrared color-color diagrams.

We perform a discrimination procedure with the spectral index diagram of TiO5 and CaH2+CaH3 to separate M giants from M dwarfs. Using the M giant spectra identified from LAMOST DR1 with high signal-to-noise ratio, we have successfully assembled a set of M giant templates, which show more reliable spectral features. Combining with the M dwarf/subdwarf templates in Zhong et al., we present an extended library of M-type templates which includes not only M dwarfs with a well-defined temperature and metallicity grid but also M giants with subtypes from M0 to M6. Then, the template-fitting algorithm is used to automatically identify and classify M giant stars from LAMOST DR1. The resulting catalog of M giant stars is cross-matched with 2MASS JHK s and WISE W1/W2 infrared photometry. In addition, we calculated the heliocentric radial velocity of all M giant stars by using the cross-correlation method with the template spectrum in a zero-velocity rest frame. Using the relationship between the absolute infrared magnitude M J and our classified spectroscopic subtype, we derived the spectroscopic distance of M giants with uncertainties of about 40%. A catalog of 8639 M giants is provided. As an additional result of this analysis, we also present a catalog of 101 690 M dwarfs/subdwarfs which are processed by our classification pipeline.

Objective: To discuss the hotspots and future trends of autophagy in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and provide a reference for researchers in this field. Method: Using visual analysis tools, metrological statistics and visual research on the pertinent literature in the area of autophagy use in TCM were undertaken in the core collection database of the Web of Science. By examining the authors, keywords, research circumstances, research hotspots, and trends of linked research, the use of autophagy in TCM was investigated. Results and Conclusions: A total of 916 studies were included, among which Beijing University Chinese Medicine was the largest number of advantageous research institutions, followed by Shanghai University Traditional Chinese Medicine and Guangzhou University Chinese Medicine.The keywords of literature research primarily comprise apoptosis, activation, inhibition, pathway, mechanism, oxidative stress, proliferation, NF-κB, cancer, mtor, etc. At present, the research on autophagy in the field of TCM is increasing on a year-to-year basis. The research has focused on the role played by TCM in malignant tumors, atherosclerosis, Alzheimer's disease through autophagy, and the regulation of autophagy signaling pathways (e.g., PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, TLR4 signaling pathway,nrf2 signaling pathway and NF-κB signaling pathway). In the future, the therapeutic effect of TCM on chemotherapy-resistant tumor cells through autophagy pathway, the role of TCM mediating mitophagy and activating autophagy function, and the therapeutic effect of TCM components represented by luteolin on tumors, asthma, myocardial injury and other diseases through autophagy mechanism will be the research hotspots in the future.

Single-exposure spectra in large spectral surveys are valuable for time domain studies such as stellar variability, but there is no available method to eliminate cosmic rays for single-exposure, multi-fiber spectral images. In this paper, we describe a new method to detect and remove cosmic rays in multi-fiber spectroscopic single exposures. Through the use of two-dimensional profile fitting and a noise model that considers the position-dependent errors, we successfully detect as many as 80% of the cosmic rays and correct the cosmic ray polluted pixels to an average accuracy of 97.8%. Multiple tests and comparisons with both simulated data and real LAMOST data show that the method works properly in detection rate, false detection rate, and validity of cosmic ray correction., 23 pages, 9 figures, 1 table

Sky subtraction is the key technique in data reduction of multi-fiber spectra. Knowledge of the related instrument character is necessary to determine the method adopted in sky subtraction. In this study, we described the sky subtraction method designed for LAMOST(Large sky Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope) survey. The method has been intergrated into LAMOST 2D Pipeline v2.6 and applied to data of LAMOST DR3 and later. For LAMOST, sky emission line calibration is used to alleviate the position-dependent (thus time-dependent) ~4% fiber throughput uncertainty and the small wavelength instability (0.1\AA ) during observation. PCA (Principal Component Analysis) sky subtraction further reduces 25% of the sky line residual of the OH lines in the red part of the LAMOST spectra after the mater sky spectrum, which is derived from a B-spline fit of 20 sky fibers in each spectrograph, is adjusted by sky emission line and subtracted from each fiber. Further analysis shows that our wavelength calibration accuracy is about 4.5km/s, and the average sky subtraction residuals are about 3% for sky emission lines and 3% for continuum region. The relative sky subtraction residuals vary with the moon light background brightness, could reach as low as 1.5% for the sky emission line regions in the dark night. Tests on the F stars of both similar sky emission line strength and similar object continuum intensity show that the sky emission line residual of LAMOST is smaller than those of SDSS survey., Comment: 28 pages, 13 figures, 2 tables, accepted by RAA

Subtype H9N2 avian influenza viruses (AIVs) circulating in China have aroused increasing concerns for their impact on poultry and risk to public health. The present study was an attempt to elucidate the phylogenetic relationship of H9N2 AIVs in two geographically distinct regions of China where vaccination is routinely practiced. A total of 18 emerging H9N2 isolates were identified and genetically characterized. Phylogenetic analysis of hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) genes confirmed that the isolates belonged to the Y280 lineage. Based on the HA genes, the isolates were subdivided into two subgroups. The viruses from Zhejiang Province were clustered together in Group I, while the isolates from Guangdong Province were clustered together in Group II. Antigenic characterization showed that the tested viruses were antigenically different when compared to the current used vaccine strain. It was notable that 14 out of total 18 isolates had an amino acid exchange (Q→L) at position 216 (226 by H3 Numbering) in the receptor-binding site, which indicated that the virus had potential affinity of binding to human like receptor. These results suggest that the emerging viruses have potential risk to public health than previously thought. Therefore, continuous surveillance studies of H9N2 influenza virus are very important to the prognosis and control of future influenza pandemics.

We use the Richardson-Lucy deconvolution algorithm to extract one-dimensional (1D) spectra from Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) spectrum images. Compared with other deconvolution algorithms, this algorithm is much faster. The application on a real LAMOST image illustrates that the 1D spectrum resulting from this method has a higher signal-to-noise ratio and resolution than those extracted by the LAMOST pipeline. Furthermore, our algorithm can effectively suppress the ringings that are often present in the 1D resulting spectra generated by other deconvolution methods.

We adopt the PASTEL catalog combined with SIMBAD radial velocities as a testing standard to validate the stellar parameters (eective temperature Te , surface gravity logg, metallicity [Fe=H] and radial velocity Vr) from the rst data release (DR1) of The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) survey. After applying data reduction and temperature constraints to the sample obtained by cross-identicati on, we compare the stellar parameters from DR1 and PASTEL. The results show that the DR1 results are reliable under certain conditions. We derive a dispersion of 110 K, 0.19 dex, 0.11 dex and 4.91 km s 1 in specied eective temperature ranges, for Te , logg, [Fe=H] and Vr respectively. Systematic errors are negligible except for those of Vr. In addition, for stars with PASTEL [Fe=H] < 1:5, the metallicities in DR1 are systematically higher than those in PASTEL.

A bstract Nucleobindin 2 (NUCB2) is a precursor of nesfatin-1, a hypothalamic anorectic neuropeptide. The association between variants of the NUCB2 gene and adiposity was examined. 142 severely obese Chinese children in Singapore, and 384 normal weight Chinese children from a longitudinal cohort from Da Qing, China, were studied. NUCB2 was screened using PCR and direct sequencing in 29 severely obese children and 24 non-obese children, then screened for a variant c.1012C>G (Q338E, or rs757081) in the rest of the cohort using TaqMan probe. Five variants, including c.1012C>G (Q338E) were found. Genotyping for c.1012C>G found that the GG genotype was significantly less frequent in the obese group; odds ratio for obese subjects carrying the CC and CG genotypes was 2.29 (95% CI 1.17–4.49) in the dominant model, CC genotype 2.86 (95% CI 1.41–5.81) in the additive model, and C allele 1.57 (95% CI 1.17–2.1). The findings were replicated in an independent cohort of 372 obese and 390 normal weight Chinese children, where the odds ratio of obese subjects with CC and CG genotypes was 1.69 (95% CI 1.12–2.55). Within the Da Qing cohort, subjects with the GG genotype had significantly lower BMI and percentage ideal weight for height (WFH) at 5 and 8 years of age. Subjects with lower birth weights also had more pronounced difference in WFH and BMI at 5 and 10 years of age between GG subjects versus CC/CG subjects. We postulate that GG genotype is protective against excessive weight gain, and factors which predispose to excessive weight gain such as higher birth weights may ameliorate the effect.

A novel diagnostic scheme that includes pancreatic β‑cell dysfunction analysis for the diagnosis of traumatic multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) was investigated to assist in the early diagnosis and detection of MODS. Early intervention and treatment of MODS has been associated with a reduced mortality rate. A total of 2,876 trauma patients (including patients post‑major surgery) were admitted to the intensive care unit of the authors' hospital between December 2010 and December 2015 and enrolled in the present study. There were 205 cases where the patient succumbed to their injuries. In addition to the conventional diagnostic scheme for traumatic MODS, indexes of pancreatic β‑cell dysfunction [fasting blood‑glucose (FBG), homeostatic model assessment‑β and (blood insulin concentration 30 min following glucose loading‑fasting insulin concentration)/(blood glucose concentration 30 min following glucose loading‑FBG concentration)] were included to establish an improved diagnostic scheme for traumatic MODS. The novel scheme was subsequently used in clinical practice alongside the conventional scheme and its effect was evaluated. Since the release of LAMOST (the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope) catalog, we have the opportunity to use the LAMOST DR2 stellar catalog and \emph{WISE All-sky catalog} to search for 22 $\mu$m excess candidates. In this paper, we present 10 FGK candidates which show an excess in the infrared (IR) at 22 $\mu$m. The ten sources are all the newly identified 22 $\mu$m excess candidates. Of these 10 stars, 5 stars are F type and 5 stars are G type. The criterion for selecting candidates is $K_s-[22]_{\mu m}\geq0.387$. In addition, we present the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) covering wavelength from optical to mid-infrared band. Most of them show an obvious excess from 12 $\mu$m band and three candidates even show excess from 3.4 $\mu$m. To characterize the amount of dust, we also estimate the fractional luminosity of ten 22 $\mu$m excess candidates., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, 1 table. Accepted for publication in RAA
