A full-cellulose derived hydrogel, composed of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC), was successfully manufactured and immobilized with Pd/Fe bimetallic nanoparticles for the dechlorination of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol. The NFC-reinforced CMC hydrogels with or without loading of bimetallic nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Transmission electron microscopy, Scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray, and X-ray diffraction analyses. The effect of amounts of NFC on the loading capacity of Pd/Fe, mechanical properties and specific Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface areas of NFC-reinforced CMC hydrogel was also investigated. The experimental results showed that Pd/Fe bimetallic nanoparticles were dispersed and fixed in the hydrogel matrix with the nanosize spherical shape. The hydrogel would protect the Pd/Fe nanoparticles from oxidation, and thus providing long-term stability in comparison with only NFC-coated Pd/Fe nanoparticles. The hydrogel loaded with Pd/Fe nanoparticles, as a soft material catalytic system, was investigated to dechlorinate 2,4,6-trichlorophenol and was found to be very effective.

NaOH-based hydrolysis of epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride (ETA) was carried out in a batch reactor using ethanol/water system. The analytic technique, headspace-gas chromatography, was employed in order to follow the time evolution of ETA aqueous solution. Various effects on hydrolysis degree, such as, molar ratio of ethanol/water, NaOH concentration, reaction temperature, and dosage of hydrolysis product (2,3-dihydroxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride) were investigated. And then the kinetic model of the hydrolysis of ETA was developed and the possible mechanism of nucleophilic ring opening reaction was proposed. Furthermore, the model parameters of the process were also determined by data fitting. The results show that ETA hydrolysis follows the pseudo-first order law and kinetic model agrees well with the experimental results. Therefore, based on this kinetic model we could control the hydrolysis degree of ETA during ETA-involved cationic etherification of natural polymer in order to improve the etherification efficiency.

In this study, we reported on the nano-scale nickel/iron particles loaded in carboxymethyl/nanofibrillated cellulose (CMC/NFC) hydrogel for the dechlorination of o-dichlorobenzene (DCB) in aqueous solution. The biodegradable hydrogel may provide an ideal supporting material for fastening the bimetallic nano-scale particles, which was examined and characterized by TEM, SEM-EDX, FT-IR and BET. The performance of the selected bimetallic particles was evaluated by conducting the dechlorination of DCB in the solution under different reaction conditions (e.g., pH, dosage of nickel/iron nanoparticles and temperature). The results showed that about 70% of DCB could be dechlorinated at 20 °C in 8 h, which indicated that the immobilized reactive material had a high reduction activity when Ni/Fe loading dosage in the hydrogel (18 wt%) was considered. Moreover, the reduction behavior agreed to the pseudo-first order reaction, in which the dechlorination rate was irrelative to the pH aqueous solution. A kinetic model for predicting the concentration of DCB during the reduction reaction was established based on the experimental data.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have attracted much attention due to their high porosity and highly ordered crystalline structure. However, the insoluble and unprocessable features of bulk COF powder limit their applications. To overcome these limitations, COF-TpPa film was prepared based on amine-group functionalized nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) by Schiff base reaction for the first time. The obtained COF-TpPa/NFC membrane had high specific surface area (BET, 357 m2/g) and uniform pore size of 2–20 nm with the thickness of 250 nm. Via a simple post-treatment, a Pd-containing Pd@COF/NFC composite membrane, was accordingly synthesized, which showed excellent catalytic activity in catalyzing dechlorination of o-dichlorobenzene (o-DCB) with high activity (the apparent reaction rate was 0.0235 min−1).We expect that our approach will further boost research on designing and employing functional COF film for catalysis.

Image edge detection plays an important role in the process of image processing. This article classified the effect of various edge detection algorithms of digital images, mainly through the analysis of characteristics of the commonly used several kinds of classical edge detection operator in the time domain. For the actual image, the edge of the gray scale is sometimes not very clear, and the image also contains noise. A new algorithm of edge detection based on gray correlation degree and Kirsch operator is discussed in the paper. Kirsch operator is the reference sequence. Firstly, calculate the gray correlation degree of each pixel in the image and its neighbors formed eight action sequences and reference sequences, then determine the detection of edges based on gray correlation degree. The results show that this method can more accurately detect the useful information of the edge, and has a certain noise immunity. It is an effective and feasible new edge detection method.

In this paper, a robust watermarking technique which combines features of Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT) and Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) is proposed. Firstly the original color image is converted from RGB space to Lab space. In this technique, DWT is used to decompose the luminance coefficients into various frequency and time scale. The block DCT is applied on DWT coefficients of middle frequency to provide high level of robustness. The encrypted watermark is embedded in it by comparison of the intermediate frequency coefficients. Then the color image is converted from Lab space to RGB space to get the watermarked image. Extracting the watermark does not need the original image and the original watermark, it is a blind watermarking method. Finally, the watermarked image is attacked. Peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) value and the normalized correlation (NC) coefficient value are used to evaluate this technique. Simulation experiments show that the watermark is perceptually invisible, this method can achieve the highest possible robustness without losing the transparency.

In this paper, we report a synthetic method to prepare vegetable oil-based polyurethane acrylate (PUA) resin, which can be used in photo polymerization coating, ink and other fields. First, the mercaptoethanol was introduced into castor oil via thiol-ene photo-click reaction with UV irradiation, forming polyhydroxy compounds, then we added the isocyanate acrylate, which was obtained by the reaction between hydroxypropyl acrylate (HPA) and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), into polyhydroxy compounds, the molar ratio of HPA and IPDI is 1:1. Finally, we get the castor oil-based polyurethane acrylate. Different functional acrylate can be obtained by adjusting the hydroxyl content. Furthermore, the structure and performance of Polyurethane acrylate was confirmed by FT-IR and TG. The water absorption and adhesion of synthetic polyurethane acrylate were tested. Meanwhile, the thermal stability was studied. The results indicated that the thiol-ene addition reaction was proceeded and compared to our previous studies, the properties of cured film are greatly improved, especially the hardness and thermal stability.

Compared with the lithography and traditional technology, ink-jet printing technology has huge advantages such as reducing costs, improving production efficiency and reducing environment damage. The silver nanoparticles conductive ink used as core material in ink-jet printing technology has been greatly developed. At present, the conductive inks for printed circuit usually has high sintering temperature, low adhesion, poor mechanical properties, high cost, which limit the further industrial application. In this paper, nano silver pulp was prepared through liquid phase reduction method, and a self-made protective agent ensured that the particle size distribution of silver particles is about 5nm. The above silver pulp was dispersed in the organic resin to get conductive ink with 20% (wt%) silver content. Under 170°Csintering, the electrical conductivity of the ink layer was 1.15×104S/m.

The experiment studied effects of paper on the height and glossiness of UV ink-jet 3D printing. The results showed that there all existed penetrations between the 1st ink layer and three kinds of paper, the bigger the roughness and bulk of paper were, the larger the penetration was, and penetration between the 1st ink and paper was obviously larger than that between two ink layers. Penetration between two ink layers was stable, almost not affected by paper. The bigger the roughness and bulk of paper were, the smaller the glossiness of ink layer was. There appeared directional ink strips on ink layer on three kinds of paper, beginning from the 3rd ink layer, there also appeared ink pits on ink layer on paper whose roughness and bulk were the biggest, which showed printer precision was also an important factor for the glossiness, apart from paper. Thus, the tight and smooth paper should be selected in UV ink-jet 3D printing. Before printing, pretreatment should be done to exclude the influence of the 1st ink layer and the ink strips.

Most paper-based 3D color printers are plagued by the problem of slow printing speed, which is caused by the double-sided coloration for A4 office paper during the printing process. In order to resolve this issue, we propose a new fast and reliable coloration algorithm using geometric information in STL file, given the existing slicing methods. During the entire process, the colored surface is determined by D value that represents the positive or negative slope of layer in the 3D model after slicing. Colored inks with corresponding permeability are used to print single-sided or double-sided to accelerate the printing speed. For the given 3D models, the efficiency of the speedup is discussed and qualitatively analyzed. The results show that the proposed algorithm can increase the printing speed of paper-based 3D color printers, based on the existing materials and apparatus, at a lower cost than the common approaches.

Neugebauer printing color model can be divided into tristimulus model and spectral model in form. After color subarea, if these two models are directly applied to multicolor separation, the accuracy of color separation is far from enough. A relatively effective way is to conduct cellular division for device independent color space and achieve higher accuracy through measuring more training samples. This article aims at CMYKRGB seven color separation applications and after performing color separation for two Neugebauer models, cellular divisions with different grades would be carried out successively. The predicted color accuracy of these two models after cellular divisions will be detected using color separation printing test color targets. The impact of cellular division correction on predicted color accuracy and calculation efficiency would be analyzed based on the test results finally.

To study the structure and properties of hyperbranched polyesters as well as the modified ones. Three generations of hyperbranched polyesters named HBPE-1, HBPE-2 and HBPE-3 were synthesized by the reactions from pentaerythritol and 2,2-dihydroxy-methyl-propionic acid by single-step polycondensation. They were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and the results indicated they possessed a high degree of branching. Then homemade urethane acrylate prepolymer reacted with three generations of hydroxyl-terminated hyperbranched polyesters introducing C=C contents, the product was characterized by FT-IR, DSC, TGA techniques. The results of TGA showed well thermal stability of all the products. TGA curves of the modified HBPES showed two stages, 280-350°C means pyrolysis of main chain ester section and 400-450°C means pyrolysis of urethane acrylate section. The results of DSC indicated that glass transition temperature increased with the number of the hyperbranched polyester units’ increment. What’s more, glass transition temperature of HBPE-3 was 48.13°C. HPUA-3 was semi-crystalline material, its glass transition temperature was-12.59°C, cold crystallization temperature Tc 110.92°C, melting temperature Tm 134.74°C. Since the introduction of a large number of unsaturated units to the end, the resin can be introduced into the UV-curable systems for paints, inks, adhesives and some other fields.

Scan-digitizing is one of the main ways to digitize the original. Building scanner profiles are usual practice to get the consistent color. In the paper, we describe how to get the best possible ‘Raw RGB’ image from a scanner. First we measured the accuracy of those different input profiles. The profile accuracy depends on the relationship between scanner RGB and the corresponding LAB or XYZ values. Then we compared the range of those input profile tones. The ideal tone response curve can be decided by setting the scanner gamma. So a good input profile can faithfully render the dark and murky appearance of an underexposed image or the washed-out appearance of an overexposed one. In order to get a good scanner profile we proposed a method to determine a suitable tone response curve. A new algorithm was then developed according to N-component LUT-based input profile. Experiments were carried out to compare these scanner profiles. The results showed that the ICC profile generated by the new algorithm has obvious advantages in accuracy and grey predicting.

If the pressure sensitive adhesive is coated on the back, it can be used for bonding electronic tag, overburden, protective layer, and RFID layer. The acrylate pressure sensitive adhesives are simple and less pollution, so more and more companies pay attention on this kind of binder. Since the thickness of adhesive layer is relatively small, ink-jet printing is now widely used to easily obtain thin layer and design the pressure sensitive adhesive shape of different parts. So how to get superior performance pressure sensitive adhesive which is suitable for ink-jet printing become an urgent problem in printed electronics. The experiment was conducted through solution copolymerization of various vinyl monomers which were selected on the principle of solvent parameter prepared by free radical polymerization. The monomer, initiator mixture solution was dropped in continuous and synchronization process. By regulating the amount of initiator and polymerization temperature, we could effectively reduce the system viscosity and prepare high quality high-solids acrylate UV-curable pressure sensitive adhesives with low viscosity for ink-jet printing. The influence of initiator, solvents, transfer reagents and temperature on the structure and properties of the resin were discussed.

In this letter, a digital watermarking method which combines the singular value decomposition (SVD) and the discrete cosine transform (DCT) is presented. First of all, The Arnold scrambling and the DCT are performed on the watermark and the original image, respectively. The SVD transform is performed on the image when scrambled watermark is embedded, then the watermarked image is formed. Finally, we extract watermark from the image which is handled by halftone screens. The experimental results show that this method can achieve the highest possible robustness without losing the transparency. Also it can anti printing and scanning. All the processes do not require any additional equipment. It will bring new hope to the field of anti-counterfeiting printing with singular value decomposition is applied to the half-tone image area.

In the process of gaining digital images whether scanning or photographing, the rugged manuscript or the nonlinear characteristic of the camera lens, etc. may lead to severe geometric distortions of the captured images. Therefore, geometric rectification of the distorted images is necessary before they can be further processed. In this paper, A careful analysis was done on the cases of geometric distortion, and then an auto-correction method is deduced. In the correction process for image scanned, global thresholding was used to extract the feature region which was needed, use Sobel operator to detect edge, then use Hough transform to auto-extract the boundary. After Hough transform, some parameters associated with the control point were obtained for correcting images. Extensive experiments proved that it can recognize the outline fast and correct geometric distortions effectively. The results show that the method was applicable and had high accuracy.

With the rapid development of materials science, polymers are widely used in food packaging. Because the polymer modification process can lead to the formation of low molecular weight compounds, these substances which migrate from packaging materials to food bring many hidden dangers to food safety and threaten peoples health. In order to ensure the safety of food packaging materials, it is necessary to completely study and discuss the migration process of low molecular weight compounds, and then take effective methods to control the pollutants. The real process of polymer components in food package migration is quite complex, which is affected by many non-ideal factors. If we simply analysis the migration model, the actual results could not be got. We use migration model combining with the methods of modern analysis instruments on the basis of migration model, the model will have more practical application. The paper is based on migration theory and migration model. Under the existing experimental conditions, truly simulate the migration process of food packaging materials by using modern analytical measurement instruments and experimental simulation tools. Combine the theory and practice, analyze the migration and migration influencing factors of PS extract from qualitative and quantitative aspects. It is of great practical significance in solving the food safety problems which caused by migration from food packaging materials.

In this paper, polyethylene glycol thioglycolate was prepared by esterfication. Spherical silver nanoparticles were formed from silver nitrate solution by liquid chemical reduction method with hydrazine hydrate as reducant. Based on the previous two steps, the nanoAg was absorbed by the polyethylene glycol thioglycolate trough the deposition. Metal nanoparticles were absorbed by polyethylene glycol thioglycolate with M-S bond to form polymer modified nanoparticle powder. The conductive inks were prepared using modified nanoparticles, other filler and laborator self-made water-borne polyurethane resin as the bonding material. Then the ink was coated on the PET film surface to mold. Catalyst, temperature and time effected esterfication. The esterfication rate was about 55% at 110°C for 3 hours. XRD indicated that the nanoAg prepared were cubic crystals, TEM showed that the size of modified nanoAg was less than 10nm. Metal nanoparticles with M-S bond effectively reduced the surface energy and had better compatibility with organic materials. Cross-cutting tests showed that adhesion between the ink and PET films was well and the conductive inks also showed good wet resistance and thermostability.

Different rendering conditions (e.g., changes in lighting conditions or atmospheric conditions, changes of the imaging system) often cause significant color differences between two images. In the prepress process, the brightness and hue between two images should be adjusted to be as similar as possible. Currently, we generally use image processing software such as PhotoShop to adjust the image manually, it’s complex and time consuming. In this paper, the color correction algorithm based on histogram matching was put forward and implemented. Only one image needed to be adjusted well previously as the reference image, and the mapping relationship was established on pixels between the histogram of the source images and the reference image, then the source images would have the histograms similar to that of the reference image, so that the images would have similar color characteristic and achieve image color correction finally. The experimental result showed that the realized color correction algorithm was effective, it could not only maintain the visual effect of images, but also eliminate the color differences between the reference image and the source images.

Image halftoning is the core technique of digital image output, which determines the quality of the color and tonal gradation reproduction. In this paper, the existing halftoning techniques were analyzed and evaluated, such as FM halftoning and AM halftoning, etc. And a new halftoning mode, frequency conversion amplitude modulation (FCAM), was proposed. This method is still based on AM halftoning, but it uses the different screen frequency for halftoning image of the different color version, so as to avoid moiré fringes on the smaller superposition angle. The use of new halftoning model can achieve halftoning image output which is more than 4 colors (such as 6 colors or 7 colors) without visual moirè pattern when overprinting. By the new technique, high-fidelity printing is achieved, and the color gamut of the output image is expanded, and we can get more vivid realistic effect of image transmission. We tested color gamut expansion of 6 colors and 7 colors high-fidelity printing, and obtained the expected conclusion by quantitative analysis.

A series of low viscosity and solvent free polyurethane (PUR) adhesives were synthesised from polyester [poly-1, 4-butylene adipate glycol (PBA)], castor oil (CO), diethylene glycol (DEG) and isophorone diisocyanate. In this study, the molecular structure was characterised by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, and the thermostability was analysed by thermogravimetric analyser. The influences of different ratios of polyols on viscosity, water resistance as well as adhesion intensity, curing time and hardness of PUR elastomer were investigated. The experimental results showed that with the increase in DEG, the PUR had higher bond strength, better water resistance and harder film hardness. It was also found that CO could improve the water resistance and reduce the curing time of the prepolymer. The best CO/PBA/DEG mole ratio was 0·5∶0·15∶0·35.
