The future superconducting Linear accelerator of the SPIRAL2 project at GANIL (France) will require a complete helium cryogenic system. Air Liquide DTA has been selected to provide around 1300W equivalent refrigeration power at 4.5K with mainly refrigeration load but also helium liquefaction rate and 60K thermal shields feed. The Helium cold box designed and manufactured by Air Liquide DTA will be derived from the standard HELIAL LF product to match the need for the SPIRAL2 project. The cryogenic system also includes a liquid Dewar, cryogenic lines and recovery system for liquefaction rate. The invention relates to a process for purification by adsorption of a feedstream rich in methane and containing at least carbon dioxide and water, using two exchangers-adsorbers of shell and tube type, provided with an adsorbent in the tubes, and a thermal fluid circulating in the shell, which is cold during the adsorption phase and hot during the regeneration phase, the two exchangers operating alternately; the process also comprises steps of gradual temperature increases between the two phases, with at least exchanges of fluid between the shells and at least two means for the intermediate storage of thermal fluid at variable temperatures.
