In accordance with the 2023 Joint Chairmen’s Report - FY 2024 Operating and Capital Budgets (Pages 19-20), which requires the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy (GOCPP) to provide an update on the corrective action plan, please accept this letter as fulfillment of the required report.

In accordance with the 2023 Joint Chairmen’s Report - FY 2024 Operating and Capital Budgets (Pages 19-20), please find an enclosed copy of the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services’ (GOCPYVS’) report, titled Fiscal 2020, 2021, and 2022 Audit Report Update. This report provides an update to the Fiscal 2020, 2021, and 2022 Audit Report that was submitted on June 7, 2023, as it relates to the implementation of the corrective action plan, as well as the legislative appropriation and actual expenditure for all general, special, and federal grants budgeted within GOCPYVS for fiscal 2020, 2021, and 2022.

As required by § 4-504 of the Public Safety Article, please find an enclosed copy of the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services’ report, titled State Aid for Police Protection Fund FY 2023 Annual Report. This report includes data from the formula computations for counties and municipalities.

The 2023 Joint Chairmen’s Report - FY 2024 Operating and Capital Budgets (Pages 19-20) requires the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services (GOCPYVS) to submit a report to the Governor and the budget committees by July 1, 2023, as it relates to the fiscal audit of the office’s grants management processes and all grants budgeted within its fiscal 2020, 2021, and 2022 legislative appropriations.

The 2021 Joint Chairmen’s Report - FY 2022 Operating and Capital Budgets (Pages 24-25) requires the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services (GOCPYVS) to hire an accounting firm to audit the Office’s grant management processes and to reconcile the actual expenditures of its fiscal 2020 and 2021 grants.
