Es un honor para mí poder expresar estas palabras en nombre de todos los graduandos del Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad, 2024. En primer lugar, me dedicaré a agradecer y honrar… A Dios, director de nuestras vidas y proyectos. A la familia, bastón que nos sostiene. A los amigos, bálsamo en medio del cansancio y angustia. A los profesores y tutores, faros de conocimiento, dirección y guía. Gratitud, admiración y honra a nuestros profesores; ya decía muy acertadamente Isaac Newton “Si he logrado ver más lejos ha sido porque he subido a hombros de gigantes”. Gracias a nuestros gigantes del Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad, gracias a mis gigantes de la oncología, ARSUVE. Me siento sumamente afortunada y agradezco la experiencia académica de alto nivel que se me permitió vivir este año; tuve la oportunidad de compartir e instruirme con figuras nacionales de la oncología venezolana, en mi servicio conté con ilustres profesores y excelentes adjuntos, así como también, hago especial mención a mis tutores de rotaciones, los admiro, no sólo porque son mentes brillantes, sino también porque son seres humanos invaluables y eso es justo lo que los hace grandes, que fortuna tenerlos. En segundo lugar, quiero felicitarlos… Felicito a cada graduando hoy, los admiro y celebro el éxito de cada uno de ustedes, pero no solo los felicito a ustedes, quiero dedicar unas líneas y felicitar a cada padre, madre, esposo, esposa, hermano, a cada familiar. Felicito a todo aquel que estuvo detrás de la bendición en la mañana, de la oración, del desayuno caliente que fue hecho con amor, del abrazo que te restauró en un mal día, de la palabra motivadora en medio de la fatiga, justo cuando sentías que estabas a punto de desistir, gracias y felicidades a la familia porque esos títulos también llevan sus nombres. Y, en tercer lugar, quiero que lleven un mensaje a casa… Lo que eres se define por lo que estás dispuesto a luchar. Esto no es otro eslogan de “sin dolor no hay victoria”, ¡NO! Esto es el más simple y básico componente de la vida y se basa en que nuestras luchas determinan nuestro éxito. ¿Si lo notas? Es como una espiral ascendente infinita. Nunca dejes de escalar, aun cuando ustedes sientan que han fallado alguna vez o estén a punto de fallar, no dejen de avanzar, porque la mejora de cualquier habilidad se basa en miles de pequeñas fallas y la magnitud de tu éxito se sustenta en el número de veces que fallaste en algo, pero también en el número de veces que lograste identificar la oportunidad de acercarte más al éxito a través de esa falla; el triunfo es justo eso que se esconde detrás de las ganas de desistir. Escala, avanza, con dirección y con enfoque. Si alguna vez te permites pensar que es válido dejar de escalar porque sientas que has fallado, definitivamente me temo que no has comprendido el punto a lo que realmente vinimos a la vida, porque sólo podemos ser verdaderamente exitosos en algo, cuando estamos dispuestos a fallar y avanzar. Si en algún momento piensas que alguien es mejor que tú en algo, probablemente lo es porque ha fallado más veces que tú, del mismo modo, si en algún momento crees que alguien es peor o no es tan bueno como tú en algo, entonces probablemente lo sea porque esa persona no ha pasado por todas las experiencias dolorosas de aprendizaje que has pasado tú. Así que, por favor, nunca dejes de escalar, háganlo con humildad, bondad, enfoque, disciplina y constancia. Y jamás dejen de aprender, siempre aprendan un poco más, no importa la edad que tengan, no importa lo mucho que crean que ya saben, aprender un poco más, ese es el camino, porque todos nosotros tenemos hoy la gran responsabilidad de honrar, restaurar y representar ante el mundo una tierra bendita por Dios y habitada por guerreros de sangre valiente. Somos médicos, ¡MÉDICOS VENEZOLANOS!, para mí, medicina y ciencia en su más alto nivel. Felicidades, gracias al Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad, son increíbles.

This article aims to map the publications that correlate technologies and assessment, understanding the formative perspectives in online environments. For this, a qualitative, explanatory and procedural methodology was used, and the systematic mapping (SM) had the CAPES Catalog of Theses and Dissertations (2015-2022) as its locus. The results obtained were constructed from 10 works, eight dissertations and two theses, and point to a wide variety of technological resources used: Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), WhatsApp, Google Forms, Padlet Forums, Chat, CMap Tools and Youtube. Among the potentialities of the use of technologies is the gratuity, ease of access, the ability to generate automatic feedback, as well as having spaces for discussions and doubts, optimizing time. Among the weaknesses, the need for the internet stands out, and the impossibility of using it offline. Of the technologies presented in this article, all present the possibility of giving feedback to the students, strengthening the relationships between students and teachers and also between the students themselves. However, many are already free and easily accessible and have a wide range of functions and applicability, so the integration and insertion of technologies during these training processes is extremely important with regard to teaching and learning for all. - Abstract
By reviewing the scientific literature specialized in sleep disorders (TS) carried out in Mexico, especially at the TS Clinic (Faculty of Medicine-UNAM) at the General Hospital of Mexico (CTS-HGM) from 1948 to 2020, it was possible to document the history of ST research in Mexico and the role played by the CTS-HGM. Sleep Medicine (MS) is one of the newest specialties in Mexico and case research in this field began around 1948, while formal research in 1974. The founding of CTS-HGM in 1997 led to significant development in TS research in Mexico. In addition, the CTS-HGM became a center of care for patients with these problems, as well as important research center since its publications cover all the diagnostic categories of the CITS. In an international context of increasing pressure from transnational organizations such as the World Trade Organization through the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), Argentine higher education is characterized in its historical development as a citizen's right and not as a transnational commodity. The history of Argentine higher education is the history of access to a right, and educational technology and distance education have contributed and continue to contribute solutions to this mission. It is because of its status as a right that higher education institutions must invest all the means at their disposal to ensure that students have access to it without any kind of restriction, as regulated by the Higher Education Law. They must also guarantee the graduation of their students so that access to the right is not an empty discourse. One tool available for this purpose is curricular flexibilization, which makes it possible to respect the motivations and pace of each student together with an autonomous administration of time and space that is not expulsive. The autonomous management of the curriculum is also enhanced by the use of technological mediations that make it possible to articulate physical presence with virtual presence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
En el contexto educativo, las graduaciones representan un momento culminante, un oasis de alegría, regocijo y satisfacción tras el arduo camino del aprendizaje. Este evento final, extático, no solo marca el fin de una etapa académica, sino que también se convierte en un locus amoenus, un lugar idílico que, al igual que en la literatura latina, ofrece cierto consuelo y reflexión final del trayecto recorrido, tanto a estudiantes como a profesores. Es un claro en medio del bosque educativo, una fuente de anécdotas, del relato de los momentos críticos o épicos, que confluye en el río que configura las sociedades humanas. Son también un momento de separación, de senderos borgianos que se bifurcan. Las existencias coligadas por las asignaturas, los planes de estudios, los cursos y las leyes educativas, toman rumbos divergentes. Hay despedidas, pero anidan también en el alma docente los futuros logros y sueños por alcanzar. - Abstract
El 19 de juliol de 2024 va tenir lloc l'Acte de Graduació del Curs 2023/2024 a l’Auditori Eduard Toldrà de Vilanova i la Geltrú. A l'acte presentat per l'estudiant del nostre Centre, la Maria Casals, delegada de la Delegació d’Estudiants, hi van assistir vora 500 persones entre estudiantat, acompanyants, professorat, personal d’Administració i Serveis i autoritats. Es va comptar amb la participació de 134 graduats, acompanyats pel vicerector d’Arquitectura, Infraestructures i Territori de la UPC, Sr. Jordi Ros, i el Regidor d’Innovació i Universitat, Sr. Quim-Fèlix Ruiz i Collado, entre d'altres personalitats relacionades amb la nostra Escola i amb la ciutat de Vilanova i la Geltrú. La nostra Directora, la Sra. Marisa Zaragozá, va obrir l'acte i seguidament vàrem gaudir de la ponència de la padrina de l’acte, la Sra. Mar López, pionera en la seva professió, sent la primera dona de la història de Catalunya en assolir la posició de Degana del Col·legi d’Enginyers Tècnics Industrials Garraf-Penedès i Vicepresidenta del Consell de Col·legis d’Enginyers de Catalunya. Seguidament, es va procedir al lliurament de premis als estudiants Raúl Rabadán, pel millor expedient acadèmic dels Grau i a Joel León Bravo Castro, al millor expedient acadèmic de Màster (MUESAEI), per part del Sr. Ignasi Fuentes, Director d’Oficina de Vilanova i la Geltrú del Grup Caixa d’Enginyers. El premi a millor expedient del Màster en Sistemes Ferroviaris i Tracció Elèctrica va ser entregat pel Sr. Ricard Riol, Responsable de planificació d’oferta de Rodalies Catalunya, a l’alumna Isabella Guzmán. També es va comptar amb la intervenció del president del Club UPC Alumni Vilanova, Sr. Marc de Arias, que va fer el lliurament del premi “Viu la UPC”, amb el qual es pretén reconèixer la vàlua i implicació de l’estudiantat en la vida universitària. En aquesta edició, els guanyadors van ser Helena Tarrats i Sofyan El Faghloumi. Com cada any, alumnes graduats ens van explicar les seves vivències en el seu pas, El 19 de julio de 2024 tuvo lugar el Acto de Graduación del Curso 2023/2024 en el Auditorio Eduard Toldrà de Vilanova i la Geltrú. Al acto presentado por el estudiante de nuestro Centro, Maria Casals, delegada de la Delegación de Estudiantes, asistieron cerca de 500 personas entre estudiantado, acompañantes, profesorado, personal de Administración y Servicios y autoridades. Marisa Zaragozá, abrió el acto y seguidamente disfrutamos de la ponencia de la madrina del acto, Dª. Mar López, pionera en su profesión, siendo la primera mujer de la historia de Cataluña en lograr la posición de Decana del Colegio de Ingenieros Técnicos Industriales Garraf-Penedès y Vicepresidenta del Consejo de Colegios de Ingenieros de Cataluña. Seguidamente, se procedió a la entrega de premios a los estudiantes Raúl Rabadán, por el mejor expediente académico de los Grau ya Joel León Bravo Castro, al mejor expediente académico de Máster (MUESAEI), por parte de SR. Ignasi Fuentes, Director de Oficina de Vilanova y la Geltrú del Grupo Caja de Ingenieros. 15. Práticas pedagógicas integradas: um confronto entre docentes licenciados e docentes bacharéis

Tomando como marco inicial para o Ensino Médio Integrado (EMI) o Decreto nº 5.154, de 23 de julho de 2004, acreditamos que 15 anos não foram suficientes para que as instituições que compõem a Rede Federal de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica (RFEPCT) se tornassem profundas conhecedoras em relação às práticas pedagógicas que corporificam a integração de ensino. Em vista disso, este artigo é resultado de uma pesquisa que objetivou investigar, por meio de entrevistas individuais com 16 docentes efetivos do IFTM Campus Uberlândia, o conceito de EMI, colocando em confronto as compreensões de docentes bacharéis e de docentes licenciados. Para isso, focamos em analisar quais são as práticas pedagógicas utilizadas por eles, em sala de aula, que favoreçam a efetivação do EMI, e possíveis dificuldades encontradas nesse processo. A base teórica deste artigo se apoiou em Maldaner (2017), Moura (2008) e Sena e Souza (2023). As entrevistas foram realizadas no mês de novembro de 2018, dentro dos limites físicos do próprio campus. A escolha dos 16 docentes entrevistados aconteceu por conveniência e pela análise de seus currículos cadastrados na Plataforma Lattes, a fim de selecionar primeiramente aqueles que apresentassem formação acadêmica apenas em licenciatura ou apenas em bacharelado. Como destaque dentre os resultados da pesquisa, identificamos que quase todos os docentes demandam a socialização de experiências exitosas, o estímulo por meio de convites à participação de atividades em conjunto, assim como a disposição dos docentes a participarem da reformulação de diretrizes institucionais, a fim de criar uma infraestrutura burocrática mais amigável à implementação da integração de ensino., Taking Decree nº 5,154, of July 23, 2004, as the starting point for Integrated High School (EMI), we believe that 15 years were not enough for the institutions that make up the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education (RFEPCT) became profoundly experts in pedagogical practices that embody the integration of teaching. In view of this, this article is the result of a research that aimed to investigate, through individual interviews with 16 permanent teachers at IFTM Campus Uberlândia, the concept of EMI, comparing the understandings of bachelor's teachers and licensed teachers. To do this, we focused on analyzing which pedagogical practices they use in the classroom that favor the implementation of EMI, and possible difficulties encountered in this process. The theoretical basis of this article was based on Maldaner (2017), Moura (2008) and Sena e Souza (2023). The interviews were conducted in November 2018, within the physical limits of the campus itself. The 16 interviewed teachers were chosen for convenience and by analyzing their CVs registered on the Lattes Platform, in order to first select those who presented academic training only in a bachelor's degree or only in licentiate degree. As a highlight among the research results, we identified that almost all teachers demand the socialization of successful experiences, encouragement through invitations to participate in joint activities, as well as the willingness of teachers to participate in the reformulation of institutional guidelines, in order to create a more user-friendly bureaucratic infrastructure for the implementation of teaching integration., Tomando como punto de partida el Decreto n° 5.154, de 23 de julio de 2004, para la Educación Secundaria Integrada (EMI), creemos que 15 años no fueron suficientes para las instituciones que integran la Red Federal de Educación Profesional, Científica y Tecnológica (RFEPCT) profundizaran en las prácticas pedagógicas que plasman la integración docente. Teniendo en cuenta esto, este artículo es el resultado de una investigación que tuvo como objetivo investigar, a través de entrevistas individuales con 16 docentes permanentes del IFTM Campus Uberlândia, el concepto de EMI, comparando las comprensiones de docentes de licenciatura y docentes de bachillerato. Para ello, nos centramos en analizar qué prácticas pedagógicas utilizan en el aula que favorecen la implementación de la EMI, y las posibles dificultades encontradas en este proceso. La base teórica de este artículo se basó en Maldaner (2017), Moura (2008) y Sena e Souza (2023). Las entrevistas se realizaron en noviembre de 2018, dentro de los límites físicos del propio campus. Los 16 profesores entrevistados fueron elegidos por conveniencia y mediante el análisis de sus CV registrados en la Plataforma Lattes, para seleccionar primero a aquellos que solo tenían formación académica en licenciatura o solo en bachillerato. Como destaque entre los resultados de la investigación, identificamos que casi todos los docentes demandan la socialización de experiencias exitosas, el estímulo a través de invitaciones a participar en actividades conjuntas, así como la disposición de los docentes a participar en la reformulación de lineamientos institucionales, con el fin de crear una infraestructura burocrática más fácil de usar para la implementación de la integración docente.

Reducing desertion and increasing graduation in Higher Education has become an imperative for governments, in order to improve equity and address social and economic exclusion of the most vulnerable sectors. In this context, it is intended to measure the efficiency of the 16 Chilean state universities, using a non-parametric model of Enveloping Data Analysis (DEA) with data from the Ministry of Education during the period 2015-2016. The results indicate that the average country efficiency is 81.71% in retention and graduation, where universities in the north are the most efficient, followed by those in the south. Meanwhile, those in the center presented greater variability and inefficiency with respect to the national average. However, it must be considered that universities are multiproduct and must combine their resources for a variety of functions.

The article analyzes the difficulties faced by auditors when applying the New International Standards on Quality Management in Audit Firms. These standards, known as NIGC1-ES, establish that audit firms must design a quality management system to manage the quality of the engagements carried out. The standards will come into effect in different stages, with the third phase starting on January 1, 2023. The main changes include a risk-based approach, greater proactivity, and less prescriptiveness. The standard aims to ensure that audit firms fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. [Extracted from the article]

Se estima una tabla de vida estática empleando el estimador no paramétrico propuesto por Kaplan y Meier y la técnica de regresión polinómica local para la graduación empleando más de 8 millones de registros administrativos recolectados durante los años 2013 al 2017. Los resultados revelan que la brecha en expectativa de vida entre hombres y mujeres es menor respecto a lo reportado por la tabla vigente. Así, la diferencia en esperanza de vida medido a los 65 años de edad se reduce de siete a dos años, explicado por una disminución de la expectativa de vida de las mujeres de 2.4 años y un incremento de 2.1 años en el caso de los hombres. Los resultados también revelan que la deuda actuarial neta estaría sobreestimada en S=2 mil millones respecto a lo oficialmente estimado, ello es el resultado de dos efectos que se contraponen: un descenso en la estimación de la reserva en el caso de las mujeres y un incremento en el caso de los hombres, siendo el primer efecto el que domina.

The objective of the present study was to describe the realization of the study group aimed at training in clinical psychology during the COVID-19 pandemic and to analyze its contributions to the theoretical and practical improvement of the members. This is an experience report of the activities developed between the months of april to december 2020 in a group offered through an extension project of a public university in the interior of Paraná. In total, 28 meetings were held, with about 7 participants. The materials inherent to group discussions will be portrayed and discussed in the light of the scientific literature and the perceptions of three students who were part of the group, through the systematization of three theoretical axes: (1) Specificities of the Psychology School Service and its contributions to practice professional; (2) Medicalization and Psychoanalysis; (3) Psychoanalysis with children and adolescents: the theories of Melanie Klein, Donald Winnicott, Anna Freud and Françoise Dolto. The analysis of the discussions showed that the potential of the group referred not only to the development of theoretical knowledge, given that the group had a plurality of knowledge, but also to the deepening of that knowledge and exchange of experiences, which, in a context of uncertainties and difficulties, also made it possible to accommodate the evidenced demands. - Abstract
This integrative review aimed to identify the proposals and results of academic monitoring practices, trends and their challenges in higher education institutions. The survey was conducted in 2019, in the SciELO and Educa databases, using the descriptor "academic monitoring" in any part of the document, totaling 82 articles. There were 12 documents left after applying the exclusion criteria: the reported academic monitoring does not happen in an educational institution; it is not a relationship between student teaching another student (academic monitoring). The documents were categorized into: institutional monitoring programs, discipline or area monitoring projects, monitor training program. The results show the scarcity of research related to the theme; in contrast, the existing works reinforce the importance of academic monitoring as a strategic tool for improving the quality of teaching. Monitoring is not an easy teaching strategy, it is a practice that requires constant monitoring and dedication from both mentors and monitors. However, the implementation of an academic monitoring program in a higher education institution can bring many advances for the training and learning of students, future professionals. El dia 25 de novembre de 2022 va tenir lloc l'Acte de Graduació de la Promoció 2021/2022 a La Daurada de Vilanova i la Geltrú. A l'acte presentat per les estudiantes del nostre Centre, l’Helena Tarrats i l’Ainhoa Maestro, hi van assistir 500 persones. Vam comptar amb la participació de 128 graduats, acompanyats pel Rector de la UPC, Sr. Daniel Crespo, el Conseller d’Interior, Sr. Joan Ignasi Elena, el Conseller de Drets Socials, Sr. Carles Campuzano, l’Alcaldessa de la Ciutat, Sra. Olga Arnau, entre d'altres personalitats relacionades amb la nostra Escola i amb la ciutat de Vilanova i la Geltrú. La Directora de la UPC de Vilanova, la Sra. Marisa Zaragozá, va obrir l'acte i seguidament es va poder sentir la ponència a càrrec de l’exestudianta de l’Escola, Sra. Natalia Vigo, project Manager de l’empresa Kongskilde Industries. La Caixa d’Enginyers va fer el lliurament dels premis a l’estudiantat amb millor expedient acadèmic de l’àmbit dels Graus en Enginyeria i del Màster Universitari en Enginyeria de Sistemes Automàtics i Electrònica Industrial del curs 2021/2022. El lliurament va ser a càrrec del Director de la oficina de Vilanova de Caixa d’Enginyers, Sr. Ignasi Fuentes i les estudiantes van ser: Judit Cerdà, estudianta d’Enginyeria Informàtica, millor expedient acadèmic dels Graus de la nostra Escola. Contrario a lo que se ha señalado tradicionalmente, el marco teórico muchas veces constituye una sección independiente de la introducción en los artículos de investigación. En este, los escritores establecen la tradición teórica desde la cual se desarrolla la investigación y hacen un recuento de los avances teóricos e investigativos en la disciplina y específicamente en el tema del estudio, estableciendo un diálogo con otras voces. En este artículo, se examina cómo los escritores organizan su marco teórico mediante las cláusulas verbales y los recursos del subsistema de graduación propuestos por la lingüística sistémico-funcional para expresar fuerza y construir su voz autorial. Se identificaron las cláusulas verbales y los recursos del subsistema de graduación asociados a ellas en las secciones de marco teórico de veinte artículos científicos en español, publicados en revistas colombianas del área de la lingüística aplicada. El análisis mostró la variedad de recursos con los que los escritores dan fuerza a sus referentes conceptuales, desde las cláusulas verbales, especialmente en lugares prominentes del marco teórico: en los macroTemas, hiperTemas, macroNuevos e hiperNuevos. Comprender estas características del marco teórico puede ser relevante para la enseñanza de la escritura académica.

35. Equity in access and graduation in higher education: Reflections from the Southern Cone

The analysis of the equity of mass higher education systems in Latin America indicates how important it is to ensure that young people in the lower income sectors can study and obtain a degree. In this sense, the Southern Cone region constitutes an interesting case study to analyze the results in terms of access and graduation through the implementation of selective admissions policies, institutional diversification and privatization (Chile); or free and unrestricted access in the public sector in a diversified institutional environment (Argentina) or low institutional diversification (Uruguay). The comparative analysis of these countries reveals the relevance of analyzing not only the public and institutional policies of access and sources of funding and the evolution of the indicators regarding access and graduation in each case, but also of studying what occurs in terms of institutional differentiation, its association with social stratification and prestige allocation. Thus, the indicators show improvements over time, but in institutional contexts that maintain certain patterns of social inequality.

In the extension activity reported here, pedagogical workshops were organized during Geography classes in 7th grade Basic Education, with a focus on aspects of teacher education. The theoretical basis of the work included reflections on teacher education and university extension, in addition to the notions of learning and didactic planning, opting for pedagogical workshops. Methodologically, the research was qualitative and exploratory in nature. Three predominant categories were revealed in the narratives analyzed: organization and didactic planning of the workshop; active class and meaningful learning; contribution of the project to teacher education. The results indicated that by adopting this didactic strategy, pedagogical workshops enable differentiated organization of the class, at different times, based on the active focus of the teaching-learning process. This favors meaningful and contextualized learning, not only for the elementary school students, but also for the teachers involved. In conclusion, we highlight that the use of diverse methodologies to work on class contents can contribute to the students' interest in the classes. Background: Forensic nursing (FN) emerges as a new area of nursing, combining scientific and technical knowledge, for the improvement of nursing care. Objectives: To analyze if the study plans for the bachelor's degree in nursing include contents related to FN. Methodology: Qualitative study. Documentary analysis of the various programs of the curricular units of the bachelor's degree in nursing, in Portugal. Eleven institutions were studied, and their programmatic contents were available online. The study plans assessed reported to the academic year of 2017/2018. Results: The study plans cover content related to forensic situations (cases of child and elderly abuse, violence, and care) at the level of mental health. Conclusion: Topics related to FN are addressed, though insufficient for good practices when delivering care to violence victims. The authors suggest including topics or curricular units in the study plans of the bachelor's degree in nursing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Río Negro; Argentina This article presents the results of research on the factors identified by students as determinants of the delay in obtaining the degree of Public Accountant at the National University of Río Negro – Atlantic office – Cohorts 2011-2013. Since this is a young educational institution, it is appropriate to inquire into the multiple factors that explain the phenomenon of slow progress in the curricu-lar paths and the consequent low number of graduates. A mixed methodolo-gical approach (qualitative – quantitative) was adopted, using semi-structured interviews and surveys to collect data from students belonging to the first three cohorts of the course. Results show that lack of motivation, family situation, linked to the course of life and socioeconomic situation appear as personal hindering factors. In the curricular area, students perceive as obstacles the organization of the Study Plan and the Final Degree Project, emphasizing on the latter the late response given to the deficiency in the preparation and trai-ning of students. The institutional dimension, in general, is not identified as a determining factor for graduation. Se presentan resultados de una investigación cuyo propósito fue analizar los factores que los/as estudiantes identifican como condicionantes para la demora en la obtención del título de grado de la carrera de Contador Público (CP) de la Universidad Nacional de Río Negro (UNRN) —Sede Atlántica—, cohortes 2011 a 2013. Por tratarse de una institución educativa joven, resulta oportuno indagar sobre los múltiples factores que explican el fenómeno de la lentificación en el recorrido de los trayectos curriculares y la consiguiente baja cantidad de egresados. Se adoptó un enfoque metodológico mixto (cuanti-cualitativo), basado en el desarrollo de encuestas y entrevistas semiestructuradas a estudiantes pertenecientes a las tres primeras cohortes de la carrera. Según los resultados, como factores personales obstaculizadores aparecen la falta de motivación, la situación familiar, vinculada al curso de la vida y la situación socioeconómica. En lo curricular, los/as estudiantes perciben como obstáculos la organización del plan de estudios y al trabajo final de carrera, enfatizando sobre este último la tardía respuesta dada a la deficiencia en la preparación y formación de los/as estudiantes. La dimensión institucional, en general, no es identificada como un factor determinante del egreso.

In the last few years, a growing interest in the interpersonal dimension of language has driven researchers to explore academic-scientific discourses on the basis of the Systemic Functional Linguistics framework. This framework, sharing the view that language is related to social, cultural and institutional contexts, offers a systematic approach, Appraisal Theory, put forth by Martin (2000) and Martin and White (2005) to analyze writers’ subjective positioning. This theory provides a battery of analytical tools to reveal some of the key rhetorical strategies used to express feelings, to judge people and their actions, and to react and value the quality of things, personal appearance and other phenomena, natural or not. Three systems, Attitude, Engagement and Graduation, the latter with the options of Force and Focus, are distinguished within the theory. In this work, we attempt to identify the resources of Graduation used to encode Attitude, either sharpening or subduing it in the Discussion Section of Research Articles in Audiology, and compare those results with a more widely-studied discipline, Psychology. A corpus of 30 research articles from 3 different journals from the field of Audiology and Psychology written by native English speakers in 2010 and 2011 was compiled. Results indicate a significant and varied number of evaluative resources to graduate Attitude, in which explicit resources of Force prevail in the Audiology corpus.

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar a opinião, as experiências acadêmicas e as perspectivas profissionais dos graduandos do curso de odontologia de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior sobre a importância da inserção do cirurgião-dentista no âmbito hospitalar. Trata-se de um estudo de campo com caráter descritivo, abordagem quantitativa e método transversal realizado com acadêmicos do 9º e 10º período do curso de odontologia, tendo como instrumento de coleta de dados um questionário específico e estruturado, disponibilizado de forma online na plataforma Google Forms, contendo 10 perguntas relacionadas as experiências vivenciadas pelos graduandos. Participaram da pesquisa 30 discentes, sendo 18 regularmente matriculados no 10º período e 11 matriculados no 9º período, 96,7% declararam saber definir com clareza qual o papel do Cirurgião-Dentista em ambiente hospitalar, mas 60% afirmaram que o conteúdo ministrado de forma teórica em sala de aula não é suficiente para ter conhecimento do que se trata a Odontologia Hospitalar; 87,6% passaram por alguma experiência prática nesse contexto, contudo, 90% afirmaram que a carga horária de estágio não é suficiente para se ter conhecimento do papel do cirurgião-dentista em um contexto hospitalar, porém, 86,7% sentiram-se incentivados a procurar por outras fontes de conhecimento sobre o tema e 53,3% disseram ter interesse em ingressar profissionalmente nessa área da Odontologia. Concluiu-se que os discentes apresentaram interesse na Odontologia Hospitalar e sentiram-se motivados a ingressar profissionalmente nessa área de atuação. No entanto, consideram a carga horária prática e teórica dessa unidade curricular insuficiente para nutrir um conhecimento abrangente sobre o tema. This research aimed to analyze the opinion, academic experiences, and professional perspectives of undergraduate students of the Dentistry course at a Higher Education Institution on the importance of inserting the dental surgeon in the hospital environment. This is a field study with a descriptive character, a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional method carried out with students from the 9th and 10th period of the dentistry course, using a specific and structured questionnaire as a data collection instrument, available online on Google Forms platform, containing 10 questions related to the experiences lived by the students. 30 students participated in the research, 18 regularly enrolled in the 10th period and 11 enrolled in the 9th period, 96.7% declared that they knew how to clearly define the role of the Dental Surgeon in the hospital environment, nevertheless, 60% stated that the content taught in a theory is not enough to know what Hospital Dentistry is all about; 87.6% had some practical experience in this context, although, 90% stated that the workload of the internship is not sufficient to become aware of the role of the dentist in a hospital context, however, 86.7% felt were encouraged to look for other sources of knowledge on the subject and 53.3% said they were interested in joining this area of Dentistry professionally. It was concluded that the students showed interest in Hospital Dentistry and felt motivated to enter this area professionally. Meantime, they consider this curricular unit's practical and theoretical workload insufficient to nurture comprehensive knowledge on the subject. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la opinión, experiencias académicas y perspectivas profesionales de estudiantes de la curso de Odontología de una Institución de Educación Superior sobre la importancia de la inserción del cirujano dentista en el ambiente hospitalario. Se trata de un estudio de campo con carácter descriptivo, enfoque cuantitativo y método transversal realizado con estudiantes del 9º y 10º período de la curso de odontología, utilizando como instrumento de recolección de datos un cuestionario específico y estructurado, disponible en línea en la plataforma Google Forms, que contienen 10 preguntas relacionadas con las experiencias vividas por los estudiantes. Participaron de la investigación 30 estudiantes, 18 matriculados regularmente en el 10º período y 11 matriculados en el 9º período, el 96,7% declaró que sabía definir claramente el papel del Cirujano Dentista en el ambiente hospitalario, sino el 60% afirmó que el contenido enseñado en una teoría no es suficiente para saber de qué se trata la Odontología Hospitalaria; El 87,6% tenía alguna experiencia práctica en este contexto, sin embargo, el 90% manifestó que la carga de trabajo de la pasantía no es suficiente para tomar conciencia del papel del odontólogo en un contexto hospitalario, aún, el 86,7% se sintió animado a buscar otras fuentes de conocimiento sobre el tema y el 53,3% manifestó estar interesado en incorporarse profesionalmente a esta área de la Odontología. Se concluyó que los estudiantes mostraron interés por la Odontología Hospitalaria y se sintieron motivados para incursionar profesionalmente en esta área. Mientras tanto, consideran que la carga de trabajo práctico y teórico de esta unidad curricular es insuficiente para nutrir un conocimiento integral sobre el tema.
