Photographers have reported that voters in Belarus were lured to vote with the offer of cheap food and pre-marked ballots were handed over to them. However, the Belarussian Central Electoral Commission has not admitted to any irregularities in the elections. It may be noted that President Aleksandr Lukashenko has become the head of the country for the third time and as per the election results, he is empowered to amend the constitution allowing him to extend his term. The reactions of Russia, United States and the opposition party United Civic Party to Lukashenko's election are discussed.
