Abstract

The article presents data of applied social and psychological research of resourcing inclusive practices in an educational organization. The theoretical part defines methodological grounds for facilitating specialized educational environment to students with physical limitations. It offers an analysis of characteristics of necessary recourses. Various international networking models of inclusive education are discussed. The empirical part is dedicated to a study facilitating specialized educational environments to students with disabilities as a managerial resource in the context implementation of the inclusive practices. It describes the details of activities carried out by the members of the network and concludes that such a multi-component model can be applied to facilitate specialized educational conditions for students with disabilities. Summarized the results of the event, held on the basis of educational organizations of the Troitsk and Novomoskovsk administrative districts. The results of this study can be relevant for the inclusive education system in Russia because of the significance of the resource deficit problem in educational organizations at the current stage of development of the Russian education system.

Abstract

Aging, often considered a result of random cellular damage, can be accurately estimated using DNA methylation profiles, the foundation of pan-tissue epigenetic clocks. Here, we demonstrate the development of universal pan-mammalian clocks, using 11,754 methylation arrays from our Mammalian Methylation Consortium, which encompass 59 tissue types across 185 mammalian species. These predictive models estimate mammalian tissue age with high accuracy (r > 0.96). Age deviations correlate with human mortality risk, mouse somatotropic axis mutations and caloric restriction. We identified specific cytosines with methylation levels that change with age across numerous species. These sites, highly enriched in polycomb repressive complex 2-binding locations, are near genes implicated in mammalian development, cancer, obesity and longevity. Our findings offer new evidence suggesting that aging is evolutionarily conserved and intertwined with developmental processes across all mammals.

Abstract

Design of non-transferred DC electric arc plasma torches (EAPTs) operated with plasma gases containing alkane hydrocarbons, as a promising type of heaters for a number of technologies (thermal spraying, surface hardening, testing of thermal protection systems, etc.), requires taking into account the evaporation rate of surface cathode material (as one of the channels of its ablative degradation). For this procedure, as the first stage, thermodynamic methods can be used to simulate the composition and properties of reactive C–H–O–N–Ar–Me-systems with variable set of such input parameters as the ratio of components of plasma-forming mixture, its pressure and temperature. We theoretically estimated the evaporative degradation of the material for three variants of EAPT cathode with alkane-containing plasmas (“hot” thermochemical zirconium and thermionic tungsten, and “cold” copper) in equilibrium and quasi-equilibrium modes of “plasma gas + surface cathode material”-mixture, with use of generalized thermodynamic properties of the materials. The calculation for conditions with pressure, which is characteristic for EAPT discharge chamber, showed that when varying the initial composition of the plasma-forming mixture (from oxidizers (air or combustion products of alkanes) to reducing gases based on the products of combined partial oxidation and pyrolysis of alkanes), the effect of a difference in the cathode evaporation rate EAI was observed in systems based on (air + alkane)-mixtures near the melting point of surface cathode substances, in a comparison with the case of EAPTs with more conventional gases (commercial N2, air) and, importantly, for two variants of the analyzed cathodes (with the exception of copper). In addition, the electrode erosion value was compared for simulated zirconium cathode (in terms of erosion evaporative component) when operating on the combustion products of alkanes from “air + CH4”-mixture, and for some known EAPTs with similar cathodes in other gases. Using the case of earlier tested DC plasma torch with rod Zr-cathode (with microheterogeneous surface) as an example, it was found that our calculation indicates non-monotonic dynamics of EAI value and fractions of Zr-containing vapors as a result of the change of the fuel-air equivalence ratio f of initial reactive mixture. This effect is inconsistent with measured cathode composition, which shows a probability of nonequilibrium character of thermal and diffusion processes in near-electrode plasma and surface layer (~1 mm) of the electrode, at least in the modes with arc current in the torch near 300 A. Besides this, it should be noted that obtained modeling data on the behavior of zirconium compounds (ZrO2, ZrC) in C–H–O–N–Ar–Zr-system can be used not only for improvement of the torch cathodes, but also for design of new Zr-containing thermal protection systems to predict preliminary their ablation rate in a flow of products of combustion (including incomplete one) of engine-, rocket- and other fuels. Similarly, the results on the copper compounds behavior near the metal evaporation temperature can be useful for optimizing the process of plasma spraying of copper alloy coatings.

Abstract

BACKGROUND Depression and anxiety were both ranked among the top 25 leading causes of global burden of diseases in 2019 prior to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The pandemic affected, and in many cases threatened, the health and lives of millions of people across the globe and within the first year, global prevalence of anxiety and depression increased by 25% with the greatest influx in places highly affected by COVID-19. AIM To explore the psychological impact of the pandemic and resultant restrictions in different countries using an opportunistic sample and online questionnaire in different phases of the pandemic. METHODS A repeated, cross-sectional online international survey of adults, 16 years and above, was carried out in 10 countries (United Kingdom, India, Canada, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia). The online questionnaire was based on published approaches to understand the psychological impact of COVID-19 and the resultant restrictions. Five standardised measures were included to explore levels of depression [patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9)], anxiety [generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) assessment], impact of trauma [the impact of events scale-revised (IES-R)], loneliness (a brief loneliness scale), and social support (The Multi-dimensional Scale of Perceived Social support). RESULTS There were two rounds of the online survey in 10 countries with 42866 participants in Round 1 and 92260 in Round 2. The largest number of participants recruited from the United Kingdom (112985 overall). The majority of participants reported receiving no support from mental health services throughout the pandemic. This study found that the daily cumulative COVID-19 cases had a statistically significant effect on PHQ-9, GAD-7, and IES-R scores. Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of V. V. Grigoriev's views on Russian policy in the Kazakh Hordes. The interrelations with the Central Asia was not the primary one in the foreign policy of the Russian Empire in the 18th first half of the 19th centuries. Therefore, the central authorities entrusted managing the Kazakhs to the Orenburg governor and the Orenburg border commission. The Orenburg and Omsk officials not only implemented Russian policy in this region, but also exerted a strong influence on its formation and took part in the development of the most normative acts in the Steppe management. Therefore, the views of local officials are of interest for understanding the Central Asian policy of the Russian Empire, the peculiarities of relations with the Kazakhs and their management. V.V. Grigoriev, who held the important post of chairman of the Orenburg Border Commission, preferred to declare his position in the form of letters from the imaginary Kazakh sultan Mendali Piraliev, because thus as we can assume his ideas got more weight and he could have felt free in describing the policy of the Russian authorities in the Kazakh Hordes. This policy, according to V.V. Grigoriev, was erroneous, because it did not take into account the mentality of an Eastern person and was based not on justice, but on excessive indulgence. That is why the Russian administration could not cope even with the attacks of the Kazakhs on Russian villages and the border line that had been erected to separate the Kazakhs after their taking citizenship. V.V. Grigoriev, who headed the Orenburg border commission in the 50s and early 60s. XIX century, the period of the Kazakh steppe future fate determination, perhaps expected to strengthen the positions of supporters of the incorporation of Kazakhs into the general imperial political and legal space by publishing his polemical Letters.

Abstract

Aging is the single largest risk factor for most chronic diseases, and thus possesses large socioeconomic interest to continuously aging societies. Consequently, the field of aging research is expanding alongside a growing focus from the industry and investors in aging research. This year's 8th Annual Aging Research and Drug Discovery (ARDD) meeting was organized as a hybrid meeting from August 30th to September 3rd 2021 with more than 130 attendees participating on-site at the Ceremonial Hall at University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and 1800 engaging online. The conference comprised of presentations from 75 speakers focusing on new research in topics including mechanisms of aging and how these can be modulated as well as the use of AI and new standards of practices within aging research. This year, a longevity workshop was included to build stronger connections with the clinical community.

Abstract

Выполнен синтез гранулированного сорбента на основе силиката кальция из отхода техногенного происхождения, такого как карбонатный шлам водоподготовки и мелкодисперсного (менее 20 мкм) гранитного отсева. Проведена оценка его сорбционной способности по отношению к ионам Cu2+ из модельных водных растворов сульфата меди. В результате найдено, что частицы сорбента дисперсностью менее 1 мм имеют статическую сорбционную емкость равную 9,6 мг/г, а размером 1-5 мм - емкость 4,0 мг/г. The synthesis of granular sorbent based on the calcium silicate was carried out from the technogenic/industrial waste, such as carbonate sludge of water treatment plants and fine (lower than 20 mm) granite sifting residues. Its adsorption capability for the Cu2+ ions from the model aqueous solutions of copper sulfate was measured. As a result it was found that sorbent particles of the fraction lower than 1 mm have such static sorption capability as 9.6 mg/g, and the fraction of 1-5 mm - the capability of 4.0 mg/g.

Abstract

«Зеленая» химия - новое научное направление, цель которого минимизировать вредное воздействие химического производства на окружающую среду. Для достижения этой цели предполагается использование безвредных реагентов, сокращение образования промежуточных продуктов и максимальное сокращение отходов производства. С этой точки зрения рассмотрен процесс окислительного пиролиза метана с расчетом Е-фактора и атомной эффективности. «Green» chemistry is a new scientific direction, the purpose of which is to minimize the harmful effects of chemical production on the environment. To achieve this goal, it is assumed to use harmless reagents, reduce the formation of intermediates and maximize the reduction of production waste. From this point of view, the process of oxidative pyrolysis of methane is considered with the calculation of the E-factor and atomic efficiency.

Abstract

A method of template synthesis of nanocrystalline titanium(IV) oxide and its modification with gadolinium(III) and silver oxide nanoparticles have been developed. The composition and structure of the synthesized materials were characterized by X-ray phase analysis and IR spectroscopy. The specific surface area and pore size distribution were determined. The photocatalytic properties of the synthesized TiO2/Gd2O3 and TiO2/Gd2O3/Ag nanomaterials in the degradation reaction of methyl orange aqueous solutions upon irradiation with UV light were estimated. It was found that the introduction of gadolinium(III) oxide increases the photocatalytic activity of the material, and the introduction of silver particles makes the photocatalyst sensitive to light with a shorter wavelength. Abstract

The Naked Mole Rat (NMR), Heterocephalus glaber, provides an interesting model for studying biomarkers of longevity due to its long lifespan of more than 30 years, almost ten times longer than that of mice and rats. α-Klotho (klotho) is an aging-suppressor gene, and overexpression of klotho is associated with extended lifespan in mice. Klotho is predominantly expressed in the kidney. The expression profile of klotho in the NMR has not previously been reported. The present investigation studied the expression of klotho in the kidney of NMR with that of Rattus Norvegicus (RN) and demonstrated that klotho was expressed in the kidney of NMR at the same level as found in RN. Besides, a significant expression of Kl mRNA was found in the liver of NMR, in contrast to RN, where no hepatic expression was detected. The Klotho expression was further confirmed at the protein level. Thus, the results of the present comparative study indicate a differential tissue expression of klotho between different species. Besides its important function in the kidney, Klotho might also be of significance in the liver of NMR. It is suggested that the hepatic extrarenal expression of klotho may function as a further longevity-related factor in supplement to the Klotho in the kidney.

Abstract

The aim of the study. To study the double-nucleated cellular structures of the brain sensorimotor cortex (SMC) of sexually mature white rats after a 40-minute occlusion of the common carotid arteries.Methods. Acute ischemia was simulated in white Wistar rats by 40-minute occlusion of the common carotid arteries (OCCA). We performed comparative morphometric evaluation of cyto-, dendro-, synapto-, and glioar-chitectonics of the neocortex in intact animals (n=5), and 1 (n=5), 3 (n=5), and 7 days (n=5) after OCCA. We used Nissl, hematoxylin and eosin staining, and immunohistochemical reactions for NSE, MAP-2, HSP-70, p38, caspase-3, GFAP, AIF1, and Ki-67. Numerical density of pyramidal neurons, oligodendrocytes (ODCs), mi-croglyocytes (MGCs), presence of dystrophic and necrobiotic neurons with one or more nucleoli, hetero- and dikaryons were assessed. Statistical hypotheses were tested using Statistica 8.0 software.Results. The percentage of dystrophic and necrobiotic neurons, nerve cells with two nuclei or two or more nucleoli, the total number (proliferation) and percentage of hypertrophic astrocytes, ODCs and MGCs increased significantly after OCCA. The total numerical density of SMC neurons decreased by 26.4% (P=0.001) in layer III and by 18.5% in layer V (Mann-Whitney U Test; P=0.01) after OCCA throughout the observation period. Pathological and compensatory changes were diffusely focal and more pronounced in layer III of the neocortex. The density of bi-nucleated heterokaryons and dikaryons remained unchanged on days 1 and 3 after OCCA vs control and was 3.5 (1.5-4.0)/mm2, and increased to 6.5 (5.0-8.5)/mm2 on day 7 (Mann-Whitney U Test; P=0.002). This increase occurred along with a higher density of ODCs and MGCs than in the control. The maximum number of neurons with two or more nucleoli was also noted in layer III and V during this period.Conclusion. Острую ишемию моделировали на белых крысах Wistar путем 40-минутной окклюзии общих сонных артерий (ООСА). Проводили сравнительную морфометрическую оценку цито-, дендро, синапто- и глиоархитектоники неокортекса в норме (n=5), через 1 (n=5), 3 (n=5) и 7 суток (n=5) после ООСА. Использовали окраски по Нисслю, гематоксилином и эозином, иммуногистохимические реакции на NSE, MAP-2, HSP-70, p38, caspase-3, GFAP, AIF1 и Ki-67. Оценивали численную плотность пирамидных нейронов, олигодендроцитов (ОДЦ), микроглиоцитов (МГЦ), содержание дистрофически и некробиотически измененных нейронов, с одним и более ядрышками, гетеро- и дикарионов. Проверку статистических гипотез проводили с помощью программы Statistica 8.0.Результаты. После ООСА статистически значимо увеличивалось содержание дистрофически и некробиотически измененных нейронов, содержание нейронов с двумя ядрами, с двумя и более ядрышками, общее количество (пролиферация) и содержание гипертрофированных астроцитов, ОДЦ и МГЦ. В течение всего периода наблюдения общая численная плотность нейронов СМК после ООСА в слое III уменьшалась на 26,4% (p=0,001), а слое V — на 18,5% (Mann-Whitney U-test; p=0,01). Патологические и компенсаторно-восстановительные изменения носили диффузно-очаговый характер и проявлялись более выражено в слое III неокортекса. Содержание двуядерных гетерокарионов и дикарионов через 1-и и 3-е суток после ООСА в сравнении с контролем — 3,5 (1,5-4,0)/мм2 — не изменялось, а через 7 суток увеличивалось до 6,5 (5,0-8,5)/мм2 (Mann-Whitney U-test; p=0,002). Увеличение происходило на фоне более высокого, чем в контроле, содержания ОДЦ и МГЦ. В этот период в слое III и V также отметили максимальное количество нейронов с двумя и более ядрышками.Заключение.
