Abstract

The extensive dissemination of false information in social networks affects netizens social lives, morals, and behaviours. When a neighbour expresses strong emotions (e.g., fear, anger, excitement) based on a false statement, these emotions can be transmitted to others, especially through interactions on social media. Therefore, exploring the mechanism that explains how an individuals emotions change under the influence of a neighbours false statement is a practically important task. In this work, we systematically examining the publics personal, interpersonal, and historical emotional influence based on social context, content, and emotional based features. Abstract

The rise of digital platforms has led to an increasing reliance on technology-driven, home-based healthcare solutions, enabling individuals to monitor their health and share information with healthcare professionals as needed. However, creating an efficient care plan management system requires more than just analyzing hospital summaries and Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Factors such as individual user needs and social determinants of health, including living conditions and the flow of healthcare information between different settings, must also be considered. Challenges in this complex healthcare network involve schema diversity (in EHRs, personal health records, etc.) and terminology diversity (e.g., ICD, SNOMED-CT) across ancillary healthcare operations. Establishing interoperability among various systems and applications is crucial, with the European Interoperability Framework (EIF) emphasizing the need for patient-centric access and control of healthcare data. In this paper, we propose an integrated ontological model, the Common Semantic Data Model for Social Determinants of Health (CSSDH), by combining ISO/DIS 13940:2024 ContSys with WHO Social Determinants of Health. IntroductionThe potential utility of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) as an early risk marker of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias is under consideration. We examined associations between SCD and cognitive change among middle-aged and older Hispanic/Latino adults living in the United States.MethodsThe short-form Everyday Cognition Scale (ECog-12) was assessed to generate global, executive function, and memory-related SCD scores. We used survey generalized regressions to model the change in learning, memory, verbal fluency, executive function, and global cognitive performance over 7 years as a function of SCD (at Visit 2).ResultsThe mean age was 56.37 ± 8.10 years at Visit 1 (n = 6225). 4. Comparative Performance of Fluorite-Structured Materials for Nanosupercapacitor Applications

Abstract

Over the last fifteen years, ferroelectric and antiferroelectric ultra thin films based on fluorite-structured materials have drawn significant attention for a wide variety of applications requiring high integration density. Antiferroelectric $ZrO_2$, in particular, holds significant promise for nanosupercapacitors, owing to its potential for high energy storage density (ESD) and high efficiency ($\eta$). This work assesses the potential of high-performance $Hf_{1-x}Zr_{x}O_2$ thin films encapsulated by TiN electrodes that show linear dielectric (LD), ferroelectric (FE), and antiferroelectric (AFE) behavior. Oxides on silicon are grown by magnetron sputtering and plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition. ESD and $\eta$ are compared for FE, AFE, and LD samples at the same electrical field (3.5 MV/cm). As expected, ESD is higher for the FE sample ($95 J/cm^3$), but $\eta$ is ridiculously small ($\approx$ 55%), because of the opening of the FE hysteresis curve inducing high loss. Conversely, LD samples exhibit the highest efficiency (nearly 100%), at the expense of a lower ESD. AFE $ZrO_2$ thin film strikes a balance between FE and LD behavior, showing reduced losses compared to the FE sample but an ESD as high as $52 J/cm^3$ at 3.5 MV/cm. This value can be further increased up to $84 J/cm^3$ at a higher electrical field (4.0 MV/cm), with an $\eta$ of 75%, among the highest values reported for fluorite-structured materials, offering promising perspectives for future optimization.

9. Onlife Identity: The Question of Gender and Age in Teenagers' Online Behaviour

Abstract

The presence of cyberspace in the lives of young people is such that we can no longer distinguish between online and offline spheres. They live a process of onlife development that is not always equitable in terms of gender. This paper aims to account for the online behaviour of Spanish adolescents according to gender and age, the decisions they make when constructing their virtual identity, and the effects that this has on them. A quantitative study has been carried out at a national level (N=2,076, 12-18 years old) following a non-experimental ex post facto design by means of a survey study. The results show that there are gender differences in the preference for one or other social network. A high percentage of girls make different choices when it comes to their online presence. Unlike boys, girls state that their virtual self and their behaviour significantly influence the opinion that they have of themselves and their need to feel integrated. In conclusion, the decisions that adolescents make when creating their virtual selves do not only have negative consequences derived from poor management, but are also plagued by mandates and stereotypes that determine how they should be and what they should do online; something that is especially pressing for girls.

Abstract

Early identification of developmental delays and disabilities (DDs) is a key component of well-child visits. Recommendations for assessing children's development during these visits continue to evolve. For almost a century, developmental milestones have been used to identify children with atypical development. More recently, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has supported the medical home model and clinical guidelines to improve early identification of DDs in pediatric primary care. AAP's guidelines include a multilayered, continuous, collaborative, and family-centered approach to early identification. However, continued research, collaboration, and innovation across systems of care is needed to improve early identification of DDs.

Abstract

Objective. We present an easy-to-implement technique for accurate electrode placement over repeated transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) sessions across participants and time. tES is an emerging, non-invasive neuromodulation technique that delivers electrical stimulation using scalp electrodes.Approach.The tES electrode placement technique was developed during an exploratory clinical trial aimed at targeting a specific MNI-atlas cortical coordinate inN= 59 depressed participants (32 F, mean age: 31.1 ± 8.3 SD). Each participant completed 12 sessions of active or sham stimulation, administered using high-definition (HD) or conventional sized electrode montages placed according to the proposed technique. Neuronavigation data measuring the distances between the identified and the intended stimulation site, simulations, and cerebral blood flow (CBF) data at baseline and post-treatment were acquired to evaluate the targeting characteristics of the proposed technique.Main results.Neuronavigation measurements indicate accurate electrode placement to within 1 cm of the stimulation target on average across repeated sessions. Abstract

Background Evidence suggests that subjective (perceived) social status (SSS) may predict health outcomes more strongly than objective social status, but little is known about the relationship between SSS and cardiovascular health (CVH). This study focuses on this relationship among diverse Hispanic/Latino adults because while poor CVH profiles are prevalent in this population, immigration complicates attempts to measure their social status. Methods and Results We analyzed baseline HCHS/SOL (Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos) data on 15 374 Hispanic/Latino adults aged 18 to 74 years in 2008 to 2011. SSS was assessed using the McArthur Scale, a 10-rung "social ladder." CVH was based on levels of 7 metrics defined by the American Heart Association. Linear and logistic regressions were used to examine cross-sectional associations of SSS with CVH (overall and single metrics) after adjusting for objective social status, demographic, and health factors. Less than half of the population (46%) had Ideal scores in ≥4 metrics of CVH. In multivariable-adjusted models, an increase in SSS was associated with a higher overall CVH score (β=0.04; 95% CI, 0.01-0.06) and greater likelihood of Ideal levels of body mass index, physical activity, and fasting blood glucose levels. Nativity and time in the United States modified the association between SSS and Ideal smoking. Conclusions Subjective measures of social status can enhance an understanding of CVH among Hispanic/Latino people. Future studies should explore the stability of SSS over time in comparison with objective social status and the mechanisms through which SSS may influence CVH.

Abstract

In-plane compressively strained $\alpha$-Sn films have been theoretically predicted and experimentally proven to possess non-trivial electronic states of a 3D topological Dirac semimetal. The robustness of these states typically strongly depends on purity, homogeneity and stability of the grown material itself. By developing a reliable fabrication process, we were able to grow pure strained $\alpha$-Sn films on InSb(100), without heating of the substrate during growth, nor using any dopants. The $\alpha$-Sn films were grown by molecular beam epitaxy, followed by experimental verification of the achieved chemical purity and structural properties of the film's surface. Local insight into the surface morphology was provided by scanning tunneling microscopy. We detected the existence of compressive strain using M\"ossbauer spectroscopy and we observed a remarkable robustness of the grown samples against ambient conditions. The topological character of the samples was confirmed by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, revealing the Dirac cone of the topological surface state. Scanning tunneling spectroscopy, moreover, allowed obtaining an improved insight into the electronic structure of the 3D topological Dirac semimetal $\alpha$-Sn above the Fermi level., Comment: APM19-AR-01221R
