Super-high density olive orchards may increase proftability for table olive producers. However, water needs and fruit dam age could limit their viability. Defcit irrigation scheduling would reduce the amount of water required, but rehydration before harvest is extremely important. The aim of this work was to compare a typical defcit farm management model with a regulated defcit irrigation one based on the plant water status. The experiment was carried out during three seasons in a three years-old (4×1.5 m) commercial table olive orchard. In both irrigation scheduling plots, seasonal amount of applied water was similar. Irrigation treatments were: common farm management (CFM), an almost constant rate of irrigation, and Regulated defcit (RDI) based on midday shaded water potential. Vegetative measurements suggested that RDI increased the external surface of the hedge, and this was related with greater yield in this treatment. Signifcant diferences were found in of fruit size at harvest in some seasons, with larger fruits in RDI compared to CFM. However, fruit damage occurred during mechanical harvest in both irrigation managements, despite the higher skin frmness in RDI, and shows the need to carry out postharvest treatments to improve the quality of the fnal product. Accurate control of the tree water status would allow optimizing the amount of water available for table olive orchards.

The TsuJal geophysical survey was conducted during the spring of 2014 with the aim to characterize the crustal structure of western Mexico. This geophysical experiment focused on active geological formations such as subduction, faults, and accretionary prisms, which are related to the seismic and tsunamigenic activity. In this work, we used seismic and bathymetric data to characterize the interaction between the Rivera plate (RP) and the North America plate south of María Cleofas Island. By defining the structural trends and subsurface geology, we sought to understand the complexity of the tectonic framework of western Mexico. A migrated seismic section and bathymetric maps were generated via the acquisition and processing of TsuJal geophysical data. Bathymetric data show major seafloor structures related to two basins (Tres Marías and TsuJal), one canyon (Cocodrilo Canyon), and an uplift structure with a north–south trend (Sierra de Cleofas [SC]). Seismic data reveal a compressional regime related to the movement of the RP at the esternmost end of the seismic section and lack of deformation in sediments within the two basins found adjacent to SC. From the results of our data analysis as well as corroborating literature, we interpret an underthrusting of RP beneath the North America plate, causing a compressional tectonic regime with the formation of palm‐tree structures. The working conditions in which many social workers practice their profession make it very likely that they will experience high strain and burnout and low engagement. Previous research has identified different risk and protective factors of burnout and engagement. This article attempts to: (i) analyse the relationship of burnout and engagement with two job demands (role conflict and role clarity) and three personal resources (recovery experiences, problem-focused coping, and emotion-focused coping); (ii) examine whether these personal resources moderate the association of job demands with burnout and engagement. Participants were 448 Spanish graduate social workers. Hierarchical regression analyses showed that burnout was positively predicted by role conflict and emotion-focused coping, and was negatively predicted by role clarity and recovery experiences; overall, the inverse pattern of results was found for engagement. Furthermore, problem-focused coping and recovery moderated the association of role conflict with burnout; problem-focused coping also moderated the relationship of role conflict with engagement. Few studies have analyzed the existence of homogeneous groups (profiles) in burnout and engagement among professionals, and none in social workers. This study with 448 social workers from Spain mainly examined their profiles in burnout and engagement and the characteristics of each profile in relevant job-related variables. Cluster analyses yielded four distinct profiles: the first, Burned Out, showed high burnout and low engagement; the second, Engaged, exhibited the inverse pattern with low burnout and high engagement; the third, Both, displayed simultaneously high burnout and high engagement; the fourth, Neither, showed low burnout and low engagement. The profiles also differed greatly in work-related variables: job demands (i.e., workload and work-–family conflict), job resources (i.e., support from supervisor and coworkers), personal resources (i.e., psychological detachment and relaxation), and outcomes (i.e., intrinsic job satisfaction and intent to leave). Many states’ social policies have implemented austerity and cuts in the resources dedicated to social services and privatisation in providing these services, all of which have contributed to practitioners’ precariousness in this sector. This study carried out with 448 Spanish social workers assessed job demands, organisational and personal resources, and individual reactions that enhance or impair well-being. The study examined the extent to which demands, resources and reactions differ according to: (i) organisation sector, that is, governmental (GO), private (PO) and third sector (TSO); (ii) employment status, that is, full-timers versus part-timers and (iii) the interaction between organisation sector × employment status. Regarding the organisation sector, the best results were for TSO, followed by GO and PO; according to employment status, full-time employees obtained a better profile than part-time employees; with regard to interactions, part-time employees of PO obtained the worst scores on adaptive variables and the highest scores on maladaptive ones. This cross-sectional study aims to respond three research questions: (1) Do perceived teaching styles predict students’ motivation, academic engagement, and disaffection? (2) Does students’ motivation predict engagement and disaffection? (3) Does motivation mediate the influence of teaching styles in students’ engagement and disaffection? A convenience sample of 409 social work undergraduates from Spain (80.9% females) completed a questionnaire with these constructs. Structural equation modeling analyses showed that perceived teaching styles directly only predicted students’ autonomous and controlled motivation. These two modalities of motivation predicted engagement and disaffection and mediated the influence of teaching styles on engagement and disaffection. Bactrocera oleae (Rossi), the olive fly, represent an important biotic factor in olive groves (Olea europaea L.) causing significant production losses. Ensuring effective management of this pest is of paramount importance to safeguard and uphold the quality and quantity of table olive production. The University of Seville’s (US) table olive breeding program has focused its attention on finding new cultivars that exhibit reduced susceptibility to the olive fly. This study attempted to develop predictive models to enable the selection of new genotypes that are less susceptible to the olive fly based on fresh fruit traits. An extensive analysis of fruit physical (weight, size, symmetry, color, and texture) and chemical traits (moisture, oil content, and phenolic compounds) was conducted to evaluate the fly’s preference in oviposition bioassays (multiple choice and no choice) among four genotypes (US-06-1388, US-06-194, ‘Hojiblanca’, and ‘Kalamon’), under controlled conditions. The oviposition bioassays revealed the higher susceptibility of genotype US-06-194 and the lower susceptibility of ‘Kalamon’. The predictive models incorporated physical traits such as, fruit weight, longitudinal diameter, symmetry, CIELAB color attributes (L*, a*, and b*), and compression hardness, as well as chemical traits such as moisture, and the contents of demethyloleuropein, oleuropein, rutin, and verbascoside. El objetivo de este trabajo es el análisis dinámico de un modelo físico de la levitación superconductora de un imán a nivel teórico mediante el uso de herramientas computacionales para obtener los resultados. Se hará un planteamiento exacto a partir de las ecuaciones de Maxwell. Por otra parte, se analizan diferentes métodos para el planteamiento de las ecuaciones dinámicas y su parametrización óptima para el cálculo. El modelo consiste en un cuerpo esférico macizo homogéneamente imanado que se encuentra en un hueco esférico rodeado de material superconductor, con ayuda del método de las imágenes se calcula el campo magnético que producen las corrientes inducidas en la superficie y, a partir de éste, la fuerza y el par sobre la esfera imanada. Se plantean los casos sin peso y con peso, identificando las condiciones iniciales para producir los movimientos más simples y realizando análisis modales buscando su superposición cuando la cinemática es más compleja. En el caso con peso se calculan los puntos de equilibrio y se estudia el análisis de estabilidad en sus puntos de equilibrio tratado con cálculo numérico y a nivel formal., The purpose of this work is to analyze a dynamic physic model of superconductive levitation of a magnet in formal scope by using software tools to calculate solutions. Firstly, the proposed model mathematically sticks to Maxwell equations. Secondly, it has two different methods have been explicated to present dynamic equations as well as their optimal parametric form. The model consists of a spherical filled solid that is homogeneously magnetized located inside a spherical cavity surrounded by superconductive matter. The magnetic field generated by induced current on the surface is calculated by using the method of images. Magnetic force and torque is calculated from the magnetic field. Two cases have been proposed, whether gravity is considered or not. Specific initial conditions that produce simple movement are identified. In those situations where movement is more complex, modal analysis is employed to look for frequency superposition. If gravity is contemplated, equilibrium points are calculated and stability analysis is done at its equilibrium points by utilizing mathematics and computer calculation.

Several variables associated with motivation toward science learning in preservice elementary teachers, such as relevance to personal goals and self-efficacy, are important factors in preservice preparation. The main objective is to analyze the relationships of these motivational variables with the emotions of boredom and enjoyment, and with engagement in science learning. Data were obtained with a self-report questionnaire completed by 871 preservice elementary teachers and analyzed using the structural equation model (SEM) methodology. The first step determined the adequacy of the measurement model and, in the second step, SEM showed that the variables associated with motivation for science learning significantly predicted the variance of boredom and enjoyment as 27% and 52%, respectively. The variables associated with motivation for science learning and emotions explained 67% of the variance in science learning engagement. Relevance to personal goals and self-efficacy in science learning predicted the emotional variables. Emotional variables mediated the impact of motivational variables in science-learning engagement. El ámbito energético es clave para el progreso tecnológico del ser humano sin debilitar excesivamente el planeta. Como es sabido, el principal objetivo de esta industria es obtener electricidad para abastecernos, y hay tantos tipos de centrales como formas se nos ocurran de transformar una fuente de energía en el giro de un generador: renovables, quemadoras de combustibles fósiles, nucleares, etc. En este trabajo me centraré en el comportamiento de una tecnología que, a pesar de los problemas que se ha ido encontrando a lo largo de la historia, se niega a desaparecer: la nuclear, concretamente en las centrales que utilizan la fisión o división de átomos de uranio para generar energía. En particular, se estudiarán los efectos que puede tener la variación de la temperatura del núcleo en su reactividad, uno de los parámetros más importantes a la hora de monitorizar una planta de este tipo. Para ello, se estudiarán los principales factores que influyen en esta relación y se identificarán los valores típicos que suelen tomar en el funcionamiento regular de las centrales, con el objetivo de terminar realizando simulaciones que permitan comprender un poco mejor la teoría estudiada. Además, con el propósito de completar el estudio, se incluirán los métodos de control más utilizados en las plantas de esta categoría, su influencia sobre la reactividad y los cálculos aproximados que deben realizarse para manejarlos correctamente., Although the media spotlight may point in other directions, the field of energy in 2021 is key to the technological progress of human beings without excessively weakening the planet. As is well known, the main objective of this industry is to supply electricity to the society, and there are as many types of power plants as we can think of ways of transforming an energy source into a generator: renewable (photovoltaic, wind, hydro, etc.), fossil fuel burners (such as coal or natural gas), nuclear (fusion - still under development - or nuclear fission), etc. In this paper I will focus on the behaviour of a technology that, despite everything, refuses to disappear: fission nuclear power plants, specifically on the effects that the variation of the core temperature can have on its reactivity, one of the most important parameters when you have to monitor a plant of this type. For this purpose, the main factors influencing this relationship will be studied and the typical values that they tend to take in the regular operation of the plants will be identified, with the aim of concluding by carrying out simulations that will allow a slightly better understanding of the theory studied. In addition, in order to complete the paper, the most commonly used control methods in plants of this category, their influence on reactivity and some rough calculations needed to handle them correctly will be included.
