This research presents a comprehensive study of a Schottky diode fabricated using a gold wafer and a bilayer molybdenum disulfide ( MoS 2 ) film. Through detailed simulations, we investigated the electric field distribution, potential profile, carrier concentration, and current–voltage characteristics of the device. Our findings confirm the successful formation of a Schottky barrier at the Au/ MoS 2 interface, characterized by a distinct nonlinear I–V relationship. Comparative analysis revealed that the Au/ MoS 2 diode significantly outperforms a traditional W/Si structure in terms of rectification performance. The Au/ MoS 2 diode exhibited a current density of 1.84 × 10 − 9 A/ cm 2 , substantially lower than the 3.62 × 10 − 5 A/ cm 2 in the W/Si diode. Furthermore, the simulated I–V curves of the Au/ MoS 2 diode closely resembled the ideal diode curve, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of approximately 0.9991, indicating an ideality factor near 1. A key factor contributing to the superior rectification performance of the Au/ MoS 2 diode is its higher Schottky barrier height of 0.9 eV compared to the 0.67 eV of W/Si. This increased barrier height is evident in the band diagram analysis, which further elucidates the underlying physics of Schottky barrier formation in the Au/ MoS 2 junction. This research provides insights into the electronic properties of Schottky contacts based on two-dimensional MoS 2 , particularly the relationship between electronic barriers, system dimensions, and current flow. The demonstration of high-ideality-factor Au/ MoS 2 diodes contributes to the design and optimization of future electronic and optoelectronic devices based on 2D materials. Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by alterations in motor capacity resulting from a decrease in the neurotransmitter dopamine due to the selective death of dopaminergic neurons of the nigrostriatal pathway. Unfortunately, conventional pharmacological treatments fail to halt disease progression; therefore, new therapeutic strategies are needed, and currently, some are being investigated. The endocannabinoid system (ECS), highly expressed in the basal ganglia (BG) circuit, undergoes alterations in response to dopaminergic depletion, potentially contributing to motor symptoms and the etiopathogenesis of PD. Substantial evidence supports the neuroprotective role of the ECS through various mechanisms, including anti‐inflammatory, antioxidative, and antiapoptotic effects. Therefore, the ECS emerges as a promising target for PD treatment. This review provides a comprehensive summary of current clinical and preclinical evidence concerning ECS alterations in PD, along with potential pharmacological targets that may exert the protection of dopaminergic neurons. A stoichiometric model for Saccharomyces cerevisiae is reconstructed to analyze the continuous fermentation process of agave juice in Tequila production. The metabolic model contains 94 metabolites and 117 biochemical reactions. From the above set of reactions, 93 of them are linked to internal biochemical reactions and 24 are related to transport fluxes between the medium and the cell. The central metabolism of S. cerevisiae includes the synthesis for 20 amino-acids, carbohydrates, lipids, DNA and RNA. Using flux balance analysis (FBA), different physiological states of S. cerevisiae are shown during the fermentative process; these states are compared with experimental data under different dilution rates (0.04-0.12 h$ ^{-1} $). Moreover, the model performs anabolic and catabolic biochemical reactions for the production of higher alcohols. The importance of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae genomic model in the area of alcoholic beverage fermentation is due to the fact that it allows to estimate the metabolic fluxes during the beverage fermentation process and a physiology state of the microorganism.
