- Abstract
This document reviews and analyzes the challenges of inclusion in universities, taking up the perspectives of the student population. With this purpose, three spheres inhabited by part of the students of the Universidad Veracruzana are investigated: transgender identities, maternity in undergraduate students and the situation of the mental health of students in the "post-pandemic context" and the return face-to-face on campus. From these spheres of dialogue, the main challenges for the inclusion of university students with gender identities and specific life situations that disrupt their school life and academic training are posed. The objective of this article is to present the complexity involved in the dialogue between a public university in the south-southeast of Mexico and its students, in favor of inclusion and their right to education., En este documento se hace una revisión y análisis sobre los retos de la inclusión en las universidades, retomando perspectivas de la población estudiantil. The aim of this work is to describe the electronic properties of graphene in a constant magnetic field in the long wavelength approximation with random binary disorder, by solving the Soven equation self-consistently. Density of state contributions for different valleys in each sublattice sites are obtained for different values of magnetic field strength showing remarkable differences between K and K' valleys. A band gap is obtained by an asymmetric on-site impurity concentration and the graphene electrons acquire an anomalous magnetic moment, which is opposite in different valleys, which depend highly in the interplay between the impurity band, the band edges and the broadening of the Landau levels. In turn, magnetization as a function of B for different on-site random impurities is computed showing that by decreasing the on-site impurity energy values, maximum magnetization is shifted towards higher values of B which can be used to create and manipulate polarized valley currents. Finally, conductivity and local vertex function are obtained as a function of energy showing that scattering contributions from A and B sublattices differ significantly. Effective medium local two-irreducible vertex is computed showing that scattering from sublattices A and B do not contribute equally, which can be related to weak anti-localization. From these results, it could be possible to explore how the valley pseudospin can be used to create polarized currents by populating asymmetrically the sublattice sites, where the population can be tuned with the applied magnetic field strength.

Introduction: Studies on the aging brain often occur in active settings, but comparatively few investigate brain activity in resting states. However, exploring brain activity in a resting state offers valuable insights into spontaneous neural processes unaffected by task-specific influences. Objective: To investigate the relationship between self-care practices, cognitive function, and patterns of brain activity in healthy older adults, taking into account predictions from aging brain models. Methodology: 77 older adults aged 61 to 87 completing a self-care practices questionnaire, neuropsychological tests, and resting-state electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings. Participants were classified into two groups according to their self-care practices: traditional self-care (T-SC) and developmental self-care (D-SC). Results: Although neuropsychological tests did not yield significant differences between the D-SC and T-SC groups, patterns of brain activity revealed distinct behaviors. The T-SC group demonstrated patterns more consistent with established aging brain models, contrasting with the D-SC group, which exhibited brain activity akin to that observed in younger adults. Specifically, the T-SC group displayed hyperactivation related to memory and executive function performance, alongside heightened alpha power in posterior regions. Furthermore, bilateral frontal activation in the beta band was evident. Conclusions: The findings suggest a nuanced relationship between self-care practices and brain activity in older adults. While the T-SC group demonstrated brain activity patterns consistent with conservative aging, indicating the preservation of typical aging characteristics, the D-SC group displayed activity suggestive of a potential protective effect. This effect may be linked to self-care strategies that foster development and resilience in cognitive aging. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The university's social commitment takes the form of educational activities that bring the academic and social worlds closer together. Furthermore, the university has the responsibility and commitment to identify the needs felt by society and address them. This research aimed to determine the impact of an experiential learning methodology for coping with ageist attitudes of university students. Method. The study involved 151 students and 51 older people. The design consisted of three study groups evaluated in the short term and after three years: 51 students participated in the experiential group in an experiential activity of collecting life stories from 51 older people; 50 students performed the same practice as the experimental group but simulated it among classmates. Of the 50 students in the control group, students did not perform any activity with older people. Results. Repeated measures analyses showed that group 1 significantly decreased stereotypes after participation in the experiential activity (p <.001) and after three years (p <.001). Group 2 maintains ageist attitudes both in the short and long term (p >.05). Group 3 significantly increases negative beliefs toward old age in the long term (p >.05). Post hoc analyses indicate significant benefit (p <.001) of experiential activity in group 1 vs. group 2 and control group. Conclusion. This educational approach is not only limited to the acquisition of practical knowledge about the aging process but also actively encourages conscious evaluation and reconsideration of preconceived perceptions. Condensed Matter - Mesoscale and Nanoscale Physics - Abstract
The aim of this work is to study the electron transport in graphene with impurities by introducing a generalization of linear response theory for linear dispersion relations and spinor wave functions. Current response and density response functions are derived and computed in the Boltzmann limit, showing that in the former case, a minimum conductivity appears in the no-disorder limit. In turn, from the generalization of both functions, an exact relation can be obtained that relates both. Combining this result with the relation given by the continuity equation, it is possible to obtain general functional behavior of the diffusion pole. Finally, a dynamical diffusion is computed in the quasistatic limit using the definition of relaxation function. A lower cutoff must be introduced to regularize infrared divergences, which allow us to obtain a full renormalization group equation for the Fermi velocity, which is solved up to order O(h^2)., Comment: 20 pages, 2 figures

Condensed Matter - Mesoscale and Nanoscale Physics - Abstract
We investigate the ballistic electron transport in a monolayer graphene with configurational averaged impurities, located between two clean graphene leads. It is shown that the electron transmission are strongly dependent on the concentration of impurities and the incident energy. In turn, the conductance computed using the Landauer formalism shows a similar behavior to those found in experimental works as a function of the applied voltage for different concentrations of impurities in the limit of low temperatures. In the limit of zero bias voltage, the conductance shows a minimum value which reduces to zero for high concentration of impurities which disentangle graphene sublattices. These results can be very helpful for exploring the tunneling mechanism of electrons through doped thermodynamically stable graphene.

The aim of this work is to describe the thermodynamic properties of an electron gas in graphene placed in a constant magnetic field. The electron gas is constituted by $N$ Bloch electrons in the long wavelength approximation. The partition function is analyzed in terms of a perturbation expansion of the dimensionless constant $(\sqrt{eB}L)^{-1}$. The statistical repulsion/attraction potential for electrons in graphene is obtained in the respective case in which antisymmetric/symmetric states in the coordinates are chosen. Thermodynamic functions are computed for different orders in the perturbation expansion and the different contributions are compared for symmetric and antisymmetric states, showing remarkable differences between them due to the spin exchange correlation. A detailed analysis of the statistical potential is done, showing that, although electrons satisfy Fermi statistics, attractive potential at some interparticle distances can be found., Comment: Physica B, 2013

The aim of this work is to describe the Landau levels transitions of Bloch electrons in doped graphene with an arbitrary time dependent magnetic field in the long wavelength approximation. In particular, transitions from the m Landau level to the m + 1 and m + 2 Landau levels are studied using time-dependent perturbation theory. Time intervals are computed in which transition probabilities tend to zero at low order in the coupling constant. In particular, Landau level transitions are studied in the case of Bloch electrons travelling in the direction of the applied magnetic force and the results are compared with classical and revival periods of electrical current in graphene. Finally, current probabilities are computed for the n = 0 and n = 1 Landau levels showing expected oscillating behavior with modified cyclotron frequency., Comment: 18 pages, 7 figures

- Abstract
(1) Background: Coping includes the specific cognitive processes and behaviours that the patient uses when faced with the stress of living with a chronic disease. Self-efficacy is the knowledge that individuals have about their abilities and their confidence to face a problem or cope with a situation (disease). The aim of this study was to explore the role of coping and self-efficacy in inflammatory bowel disease. (2) Materials and Methods: A total of 92 participants were included (33 had been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, 23 with ulcerative colitis and 36 were healthy participants). The Coping Strategies Inventory was used to measure which coping strategies were employed, differentiating them as active or passive. The General Self-Efficacy Scale was used to measure self-efficacy. (3) Results: The results indicate that people with inflammatory bowel disease used strategies related to passive coping more than healthy people (mean of 36.39 ± 13.92 vs. 29.77 ± 10.70, p = 0.017). Additionally, people with inflammatory bowel disease used social withdrawal more than healthy participants (mean of 8.30 ± 5.07 vs. 4.47 ± 4.17, p < 0.001). In addition, there are significant differences in emotion-focused engagement coping strategies. People with inflammatory bowel disease used this strategy less than healthy people (mean of 21.77 ± 7.75 vs. 25.03 ± 7.00, p = 0.044). Finally, healthy participants used the emotion-focused disengagement strategy less than those diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (mean of 9.81 ± 7.74 vs. 15.61 ± 10.14, p = 0.004). (4) Conclusions: Actions aimed at the development of active coping strategies and patient socialisation must be included in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.

LEISHMANIASIS , *LEISHMANIA , *LEISHMANIA infantum , *PHLEBOTOMUS , *HARES , *RABBITS - Abstract
In 2009, a large outbreak of leishmaniasis, associated with environmental changes, was declared near Madrid (Spain), in which Phlebotomus perniciosus was the vector, whereas the main reservoirs were hares and rabbits. Analysis of isolates from humans, vectors and leporids from the focus identified the Leishmania infantum ITS-Lombardi genotype. However, multilocus enzyme electrophoresis (MLEE), the reference technique for Leishmania typing, and sequencing of the hsp70 gene, a commonly used marker, were not performed. In the present study, 19 isolates from P. perniciosus (n = 11), hares (n = 5) and rabbits (n = 3) from the outbreak area, all characterized as ITS-Lombardi in previous studies, were analysed by MLEE and hsp70 sequencing. The hsp70 results confirmed that all the analysed strains are L. infantum. However, by MLEE, 4 different zymodemes of L. infantum were identified based on variable mobilities of the NP1 enzyme: MON-34 (NP1100, n = 11), MON-80 (NP1130, n = 6), MON-24 (NP1140, n = 1) and MON-331 (NP1150, n = 1). The relative frequency of these zymodemes does not correspond to their usual occurrence in Spain. Moreover, MON-34 and MON-80 were found in P. perniciosus , hares and rabbits for the first time. These findings continue to provide insights into the outbreak and call for further studies with a higher number of strains. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This Final Degree Project carries out an innovation project based on the inclusion of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The reason why we have chosen this topic arises through the practices carried out in the mention in Early Care, where we work with children with autism and, at the same time, we realize the needs they have. Therefore, to work more concretely in this innovation project, we have started from conducting an interview with different professionals in Education, where we have been able to see the main shortcomings that exist today in relation to ICT and ASD. The main objective is to generate a communicative intention with students with autism, through an appropriate and continuous use of new technologies, affecting ages between 3 and 6 years, and coinciding, in addition, with the Early Care stage. The intervention, therefore, will revolve around the integration in the classrooms of technological resources such as tablets, digital whiteboards, as well as applications for children with ASD that can favor their learning process, communication and inclusion in the classroom.

- Abstract
In order to understand the scope of feminist cultural management activities to confront gender violence during the pandemic, the Observatories of Cultural Policies and the University of Violence against Women conducted an analytical approach to the intense cultural activity that was generated in Veracruz during 2020, regarding events organized by Recultivar Mexico's cultural managers. We used the theoretical framework of public policy from the perspective of networks as a complex system. Based on a mixed methodology, information on cultural actions was recovered with qualitative variables, and their corresponding quantification to observe trends at the local level.

[EN] The main objective of this project is the experimental design of a hydrogel as a 3D model for the culture of hepatocytes and its use as an in vitro hepatotoxicity platform. The selection of materials and procedures is based on scientific literature and consists of a combination of macromolecules present in the extracellular matrix of the liver. First, the synthesis of combined hydrogels of collagen type I and hyaluronic acid, resulting in an interpenetrating network, is explained. Then, the chemistry of the reactions and how to evaluate the biomechanical properties is detailed. The reprogramming of human blood cells to obtain iPSCs and their differentiation to hepatocytes are described. In addition, methods for the characterization of both cell types are outlined. On one side, the encapsulation of iPSCs-derived hepatocytes in hydrogels, as well as the procedures for the hepatic differentiation of iPSCs to hepatocyte-like cells (HLCs) is detailed. Therefore, the in vitro model is based on the 3D culture of HLCs on collagen and HA hydrogels. On the other side, the encapsulation of HLCs in hydrogels is proposed to evaluate the capacity to maintain cell functionality and phenotype. The comparison of the 3D culture with monolayer HLC culture allows us to assess whether the 3D model is more predictive than monolayer culture. The ability of the model for the prediction of drug-induced hepatotoxicity is assessed after the exposure to 15 drugs and the analysis by a high-content screening (HCS) in which different endpoints are simultaneously evaluated. The culture of the HepG2 line is proposed to standardize the protocols and carry out a set up in a simpler model, being able to determine if the proposed model is adequate. Finally, after selecting the optimal hydrogel based on the bibliography, describing the development of the in vitro model, and planning the hepatotoxicity test, the efficacy and suitability for its use in the testing of hepatotoxic drugs is justified. The 3D culture of HLCs in Col/HA hydrogels tries to recreate the hepatic microenvironment favouring cell-cell interactions, thus ensuring long term cell culture and its use in chronic hepatotoxicity assays. By means of the hydrogel culture, and based on its composition and biomechanical properties, it is expected to provide an environment analogous to the natural one that assures the predictive capacity of the proposed model.

This essay focus on the churches built since the second half of the XVI century with the purpose of contributing to the evangelisation of the Arica region, located in northern Chile, along the Ruta de la Plata, that spanned from Arica to Villa Imperial de Potosí (Imperial Villa of Potosí) have traditionally been forgotten by studies about American Architecture history due to their belonging to a border area: both from a geographical point of view - located in a peripheral and remote territory disputed by Chile and Peru - and from the aesthetic point of view, as they present a fusion of indigenous elements and classicist repertoires that have been considered far removed from the orthodox Renaissance or Baroque canons. This paper will carry out, for the first time, a study of the whole of the aforementioned churches, considering the latest approaches to the XVI century historiography which go beyond just a mere stylistic reading, also putting emphasis on the cultural mixtures and hybridizations which took place at that time, especially in border areas and far from the metropolisesand the most important cultural centers. The architecture will be framed within the political context of the time, focusing on the preexisting cultures and their relationship with the Hispanic imperial culture with which establishes a beneficial dialogue that has not been evidenced by previous readings. The scant bibliography on the churches, as well as the scarcity of data and sources on the constructions, has been supplemented by field work and in situ analysis of the architecture of the churches, which, as a whole, provide novelties and are a valuable testimony to the current state of the churches, which are as of now, being nominated by the government of the country to be declared a World Heritage Site.
