2. Forecasting-aided state estimation of integrated energy systems based on improved particle filter

Abstract

Efficient and accurate state estimation is the basis for the safety and stability of the integrated energy system (IES). Particle filter has high precision and strong adaptability to nonlinear systems,and it has been applied to state estimation of power systems. To improve the precision of state estimation in IES,a forecasting-aided state estimation method based on improved particle filter is proposed. Firstly,a regional IES model including an electricity-heat-gas network is constructed. Secondly,the particle filter algorithm is applied to the electricity-heat-gas network. The prediction step of the particle filter is improved because of the tracking error problem of traditional particle filtering algorithm,which is based on particle filter theory. Finally,the improved particle filter algorithm is verified by using the classical IES example. The results show that this method can effectively solve the tracking error problem of the traditional particle filter algorithm,which can improve the precision of state estimation in IES.

Abstract

Active power filter can compensate harmonic and reactive power, Three level neutral point clamp (ANPC) has the characteristics of low output harmonic and low device loss. The control of three-level active power filter needs to consider multiple objectives. Finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is a new method which can add constraints and multi-objective control. According to the limit of the switch state, it can track the reference current, which has the characteristics of fast dynamic response and good compensation effect. This method not only keeps the neutral point voltage balance, but also solves the problem of unstable switching frequency.

Abstract

With the integration of distributed generators (DGs) and multiple types of loads, it is increasingly difficult to cope with the uncertainties of DGs, which brings challenges to the secure operation of distribution networks (DNs). Source and load cannot obtain the power balance locally, which may cause operational problems such as line power overload and node voltage violation. However, the methods for quantitatively analyzing the operating status of DNs have not yet formed a unified standard. For which reason, the concept of operating margin is proposed in this study, to represent the distance from the operating point to the boundary. In this study, to generally evaluate the operating status of DNs, the concept of node power margin is proposed first. Then the evaluation indexes including line power margin (LPM) and node voltage margin (NVM) are introduced. The quantitative calculation method for system operating margin (SOM) is further elaborated, which is supposed to be the evaluation indexes on system level. After that, the analysis process of evaluation methods for SOM is discussed. Finally, case studies are performed on the modified IEEE 33-node system to evaluate the operating margin of DNs and verify the enhancement brought by the energy storage system (ESS) and soft open point (SOP) through the flexible adjustment of power flow. The simulation results show that the distance between the DN and the security boundary is effectively quantified through the proposed method, the value can be easily calculated, and the change can be clearly reflected.

9. Power system short‐term voltage stability assessment based on improved CatBoost with consideration of model confidence.

Abstract

With the intensive commissioning of high voltage direct current, transient voltage problems have become increasingly prominent, which seriously threatens the safe and stable operation of the power system. On the basis of cascaded CatBoost (CasCatBoost) and sparrow search algorithm (SSA), a novel temporal‐adaptive data‐driven method for short‐term voltage stability (STVS) assessment is proposed in this paper. First, normalized mutual information feature selection is employed for important feature selection to reduce the computational burden. Taking the important features as inputs, the CasCatBoost model is constructed to mine STVS informatization. On the basis of CatBoost and cascaded structure, CasCatBoost can enhance the assessment accuracy without sacrificing the assessment earliness. Furthermore, the SSA is embedded into the offline phases of CasCatBoost to determine the optimal confidence threshold. Extensive numerical tests are conducted on the improved New England 39‐bus system, and the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other representative machine learning algorithms and exhibits excellent reliability, rapidity, and applicability. 15. Power Quality Disturbances Classification via Fully-Convolutional Siamese Network and k-Nearest Neighbor

Abstract

The classification of disturbance signals is of great significance for improving power quality. The existing methods for power quality disturbance classification require a large number of samples to train the model. For small sample learning, their accuracy is relatively limited. In this paper, a hybrid algorithm of k-nearest neighbor and fully-convolutional Siamese network is proposed to classify power quality disturbances by learning small samples. Multiple convolutional layers and full connection layers are used to construct the Siamese network, and the output result of the Siamese network is used to judges the category of the signal. The simulation results show that: For small sample sizes, the accuracy of the proposed approach is significantly higher than that of the existing methods. Abstract

Mine fire is one of the major mine disaster. If a fire occurs, it will be very harmful to the life of miner, mine equipment, mineral resources and surface environment and so on. Mine fire occurred (including threatening ground fire underground), often incurring casualties, loss of equipment, mine shutdown, resource damage, and even cause gas and coal dust, or sulfide ore dust explosion. Performance-based design of mine fire is based on the principles and methods of fire safety engineering. The development of performance-based design methods and promote the development of performance-based specifications. In this paper, the performance of the design in accordance with the mine fire resistance design theory, combined with the specific assumption of mine were studied. Accordance with the specific performance-based fire design steps, first determine the goal of performance-based fire protection design and safety criteria and to simulate the airflow, pollutant-specific factors, such as fire, and compared with actual data, and finally carry out a safety assessment. Thus completing the mine fire performance-based design.
