Objective Functional vein end to arterial side (ETS) anastomosis uses vein side to arterial side (STS) anastomosis with distal vein ligation, which can achieve similar effects as those of ETS after STS anastomosis. The purpose of the study was to provide a meta-analysis to compare the clinical outcomes between traditional and functional ETS anastomosis in radiocephalic fistula for dialysis access. Methods Databases including PubMed, EMbase, the Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang database were searched from the inception to February 6, 2020. Eligible studies comparing traditional and functional ETS anastomosis in radiocephalic fistula were included. Data were analyzed using Review Manager Version 5.3. Results Seven studies were included in the meta-analysis. Five randomized controlled trials and two cohort studies involving 841 patients were identified. Compared with traditional ETS anastomosis, functional ETS anastomosis had shorter anastomosis time (MD − 9.54, 95% CI − 17.96 to − 1.12, P = 0.03), higher surgical success rate (OR 3.80, 95% CI 1.76–8.22, P P P = 0.03), higher patency rate after 6 months (OR 1.90, 95%CI 1.09–3.31, P = 0.02), higher patency rate after 12 months (OR 1.70, 95% CI 1.09–2.66, P = 0.02). There was no difference after the two arteriovenous (AVF) anastomosisl methods concerning AVF maturation time (SMD − 0.48, 95% CI − 1.30–0.34, P = 0.25) and patency rate after 1 month (OR 1.77, 95% CI 0.65–4.80, P = 0.26). Conclusion Functional ETS anastomosis had advantages of easy operation, high surgical success rate, few complications, high patency rate of 3 months and long-term, but did not have obvious advantage in the early stages concerning AVF maturation time and 1-month patency rate.

Herein, a new persimmon tannin/graphene oxide (GO-PT-6Glu) composite was fabricated through one-step cross-linking method. The as-prepared GO-PT-6Glu has substantial phenolic hydroxyl groups (up to 5.23 mmol g−1) by introducing water-soluble PT (up to 5.50 mmol g−1) on the GO, which provides the opportunity to use it as an adsorption material to recover germanium. The GO-PT-6Glu was then used to adsorb germanium from aqueous solution and showed the highest than among currently reported adsorption capacity (117.38 mg g−1). Simultaneously, it exhibits excellent cycle performance to adsorb germanium still with a high adsorption efficiency (up to 81.42%) after 5 adsorption–desorption cycles. More importantly, the GO-PT-6Glu showed superior selectivity towards Ge(IV) as compared to As(III) (Cl−/SO42−/PO43−), in spite of the concentration of As(III) (Cl−/SO42−/PO43−) was 100 times higher than that of Ge(IV). Taking advantages of its low cost, selective adsorption, as well as environmental protection and high adsorption, the GO-PT-6Glu is expected to be the most promising material in recovery of Ge(IV) from water containing As(III).

Methods: The following databases were searched from inception to September 6, 2019: PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang. Eligible studies comparing low-site PD catheter placement and traditional open surgery in peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion were included. The data were analyzed using Review Manager Version 5.3. Results: Seven studies were included in the meta-analysis. A total of 504 patients were included in the low-site PD catheter placement group, and 325 patients were included in the traditional open surgery group. This study aims to investigate the roles of lncRNAs on renal carcinoma.Methods: The expression of lncRNA HIF1A-AS2 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and adjacent non-cancer tissues was identified by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). Investigations were performed on biological function of lncRNA HIF1A-AS2 on cell proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis and invasion of ccRCC by overexpression and knockdown experiments. Further, luciferase reporter assay and Western blot were constructed to explore molecular mechanisms underlying the function of lncRNA HIF1A-AS2.Results: HIF1A-AS2 was highly expressed in kidney cancer tissues and ccRCC cells. Interference of HIF1A-AS2 in vivo hindered cell proliferation, invasion and migration while accelerated cell apoptosis. Overexpression of HIF1A-AS2 presented an opposite effect that repressed the expression of miR-130a-5p, and miR-130a-5p inhibited the expression of HIF1A-AS2. Additionally, rescue experiments exhibited that oncogenic function of HIF1A-AS2 was partially dependent on the suppression of miR-130a-5p.Conclusion: Our results indicated a critical role for the HIF1A-AS2-miR-130a-5p axis in renal carcinoma progression, which may act as a promising diagnostic biomarker and a pivotal therapeutic target for renal carcinoma cures.Keywords: lncRNA HIF1A-AS2, miR-130a-5p, renal carcinoma cell, cell proliferation, cell migration

The aim of this study was to analyze the differences in the intestinal composition between normal individuals and colon cancer patients.To establish the criteria for screening a normal individual for colon cancer, human colonic biopsies were obtained at routine colonoscopy. For patients with colon cancer, samples were obtained from cancerous regions. For normal individuals, colonic biopsies were taken from 3 sites of large intestine (descending, transverse, and ascending colon). Thereafter, a comparison of the microbiota structure by polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) was carried out. At last, bacterial species were identified by sequencing special bands from DGGE gels and comparing data with sequence databases.With PCR-DGGE, we have discovered that the diversity and richness of the bacterial community from colon cancer patient's colonic mucosa were lower than that of the normal individual's sample. Then, a special DGGE band was found in the colon cancer patients. After sequencing, we confirmed that it had a high level of similarity with bacteroides.Colon cancers are closely related with the alteration of intestinal flora such as the reduction of biodiversity and richness of the bacterial community. Furthermore, the increase in proportion of bacteroides may be directly associated with colon cancer.
