10. $B_{(s)} \rightarrow D^{**}_{(s)}$ form factors in HQEFT and model independent analysis of relevant semileptonic decays with NP effects

Abstract

The form factors of $B_{(s)}$ decays into P-wave excited charmed mesons (including $D^*_0(2300)$, $D_1(2430)$, $D_1(2420)$, $D^*_2(2460)$ and their strange counterparts, denoted generically as $D^{**}_{(s)}$) are systematically calculated via the QCD sum rules in the framework of heavy quark effective field theory (HQEFT). We consider contributions up to the next leading order of heavy quark expansion and give all the relevant form factors, including the scalar and tensor ones only relevant for possible new physics effects. The expressions for the form factors in terms of several universal wave functions are derived via heavy quark expansion. These universal functions can be evaluated through QCD sum rules. Then, the numerical results of the form factors are presented. With the form factors given here, a model independent analysis of relevant semileptonic decays $B_{(s)} \rightarrow D^{**}_{(s)} l \bar{\nu}_l$ is performed, including the contributions from possible new physics effects. Our predictions for the differential decay widths, branching fractions and ratios of branching fractions $R(D^{**}_{(s)})$ may be tested in more precise experiments in the future., Comment: 38 pages, 8 figures, 12 tables

36. Simple Primary Colour Editing for Consumer Product Images

Abstract

We present a simple primary colour editing method for consumer product images. We show that by using colour correction and colour blending, we can automate the pain-staking colour editing task and save time for consumer colour preference researchers. To improve the colour harmony between the primary colour and its complementary colours, our algorithm also tunes the other colours in the image. Preliminary experiment has shown some promising results compared with a state-of-the-art method and human editing., Comment: This is a working paper (pre-print). 45. Stylistic Conversion and Linguistic Beauty Reproduction in English Translation-Based on Neurosemantic Analysis

Abstract

The core of translation is language conversion, but it should be more of an aesthetic experience, a transformation of different ways of thinking. This paper proposes a neural semantic analysis method for English translation based on text similarity calculation. The technique uses a large-scale corpus to train the vector space model of words, establishes a concept-context matrix through the term-document matrix, and determines each value of the concept vector with a weight according to the literary translation in the knowledge base. The information extraction and evaluation of the English-translated text through semantic similarity calculation provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent analysis of style conversion and linguistic, and aesthetic reproduction of the English-translated text. The study will take the Lin Yutang translation and the Ricardian translation of The Analects of Confucius as an example to develop the analysis of style transformation and reproduction of linguistic beauty of the English-translated text from both lexical and syntactic levels. The results show that the lexical density of Lin Yutang’s translation is 0.5866, while that of Rie Jacob’s translation is 0.5334, with the former significantly larger than the latter. It shows that Lin Yutang’s translation of The Analects of Confucius adopts a naturalization strategy, i.e., To disseminate Chinese culture in a way that is authentic, familiar to English readers, and easy to understand, so as to make his linguistic expression more emotional.

46. Convolutional Mean: A Simple Convolutional Neural Network for Illuminant Estimation

Abstract

We present Convolutional Mean (CM) - a simple and fast convolutional neural network for illuminant estimation. Our proposed method only requires a small neural network model (1.1K parameters) and a 48 x 32 thumbnail input image. Our unoptimized Python implementation takes 1 ms/image, which is arguably 3-3750x faster than the current leading solutions with similar accuracy. Using two public datasets, we show that our proposed light-weight method offers accuracy comparable to the current leading methods' (which consist of thousands/millions of parameters) across several measures., Comment: Accepted by BMVC 2019
