16. Molecular Dynamic Simulation on the Dynamic Process of CH4Displacement by CO2in Shale Pores

Abstract

The technology of CO2-ESGR(CO2-enhanced shale gas recovery) is an effective means to practice energy saving and emission reduction and has drawn the attention of countries all over the world for its promising future. At present, the possibility and potential of the CO2-ESGR have been confirmed by some studies. However, the mechanism of shale gas occurrence is complex; existing studies have mainly focused on the static results of CH4displacement by CO2. Therefore, the dynamic process of CH4adsorbed in the shale being displaced by CO2was simulated in this study. The results show that the process of CH4displaced by CO2is divided into the CH4self-resolution phase, the displacement of residual CH4by CO2, and the stabilization phase. Moreover, the diffusion and desorption of CH4are less affected by pressure and pore size, and the effect of pressure and pore size on the diffusion and adsorption of CO2is more significant. The high pressure enhances the adsorption capacity between the pore wall and CO2, which can promote the effect of CH4displacement by CO2. In addition, another displacement phenomenon is derived in this study by examining the offset of the CO2and CH4density peak, in which CO2only occupies part of the CH4adsorption site and then both coexist for adsorption. This is different from the traditional theory that CO2displaces CH4by taking the place of it. It is conducive to revealing the dynamic mechanism of CO2displacing CH4. An in-depth study of the dynamic repulsion mechanism of CH4by CO2in geological rock formations can promote the application of the CO2-ESGR technology.

Abstract

This paper proposes a complete set of dynamic reliability quantitative assessment method which is applicable to any type of relay protection system. First, taking into account the comprehensiveness and representativeness, choose the reliability assessment indexes for relay protection system. Secondly, establish the dynamic fault tree model of the relay protection system reliability and transform the dynamic fault tree into a failure matrix to achieve a standard expression of the dynamic fault tree. On this basis, the quantitative assessment of the relay protection system reliability is realized using Monte Carlo simulation combining the dynamic fault tree and Markov chain. And finally, the effectiveness of this method is verified through the analysis of a practical example. The proposed method allows maintenance personnel to master the weaknesses of the relay protection system, and then take appropriate preventive maintenance measures. It is of great significance to the operation and maintenance of the system.

31. Executive function mediates the relationship between impulsivity and aggressive behavior in adolescents.

Abstract

Using the three-dimensional model of executive function and the I3 theory of aggressive behavior, we examined the mediating roles of inhibition, working memory, and cognitive flexibility in the relationship between impulsivity and both proactive and reactive aggression in adolescents. We recruited 1,462 middle school and high school students in Sichuan Province, who completed the Reactive–Proactive Aggression Questionnaire, the Barratt Impulsivity Scale, the Teenage Executive Function Inventory, and the Cognitive Flexibility Questionnaire. Results showed that impulsivity was positively correlated with both proactive and reactive aggression, and was negatively correlated with the three subcomponents of executive function. The three-dimensional components of executive function in adolescents were negatively correlated with both proactive and reactive aggression. Further, impulsivity directly predicted both proactive and reactive aggression. In addition, all three subcomponents of executive function in parallel mediated the relationship between impulsivity and proactive aggression. However, only inhibition mediated the relationship between impulsivity and reactive aggression. In conclusion, improving executive function may reduce the impact of impulsivity on aggression.
