Currently, there is a radical restructuring of secondary vocational education in all spheres of industry production of the Russian Federation, in particular, in the railway transport industry, where special attention is paid to the development of highly qualified personnel potential. On September 1, 2022, the program of the Ministry of Education of Russia “Professionalitet” was launched, which included the railway industry. The main goal of the program is to organically connect the system of training highly qualified middle-level personnel with production industries, as well as to make training in vocational education programs less costly for the state budget.Nine leading educational institutions of the country, including the Perm Institute of Railway Transport, a branch of the Ural State Transport University, became the navigator of the federal project “Professionalitet” in the railway industry.At the Institute, “Professionalitet” included three specialties: 08.02.10 “Construction of railways, track and track facilities”; February 23, 2006 “Technical operation of rolling stock of railways (specialization locomotives)”; 27.02.03 “Automation and telemechanics in transport (railway transport)”. Equipment standards have been developed for each of the specialties.

The majority of medical facilities in the Slovak Republic archive diagnostic images of their patients in a picture archiving and communicating system (PACS). Data from the PACS system can be used to analyse patient radiation dose and perform internal and external quality control through dose monitoring software systems. However, appropriate use of such systems requires the provision of feedback and the ability of staff to identify causes of diagnostic reference level exceedances. The present pilot study evaluated the use of a Dose quality control system (DQC) for monitoring the radiation dose of the patients in the ongoing mammography screening, with subsequent identification of alerts triggered by the system.

The effective dose is a quantity used in clinical practice for statistical evaluation of the radiation dose of patients undergoing different types of examinations. Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a specific examination whose calculated effective dose may be subject to several biases. For this reason, it is important to consider factors (different examination techniques, heart rate and patient habitus) that may influence its resulting value. Another critical factor is the methodological procedure for calculating the effective dose and cardiac-specific coefficient used to estimate effective dose from the dose-length product in computed tomography. Because CCTA is increasingly used in cardiology, it is recommended that the chest coefficient be replaced with a new cardiac coefficient when calculating the effective dose.

The purpose of the report is to diagnose the state and prospects of cooperation between businesses and universities in Poland. The analysis covers eight areas identified as the most important fields in which business-university cooperation is taking place, as indicated in the report The State of University-Business Cooperation in Germany from December 2013. The team that prepared the report is one of the four working teams formed as part of the seminar "What is happening to the university?". The work of the seminar is coordinated by Prof. Dr. Jacek Blikle, Prof. Dr. Anna Giza, Prof. Dr. Jerzy Hausner and Dr. Łukasz Stankiewicz. It operates as part of the OEES EduLab education development platform www.oees.pl/edu-lab, which is part of the wider Open Eyes Economy Summit movement coordinated by the Foundation for Economics and Public Administration.

It demonstrates that the biblical vision of gender roles that depreciates women is still present in the doc-trine and liturgy of Catholicism, while in medieval Catholic mysticism it was the basis of „spousal mysticism” resulting in texts with sexual connotations written by women. The biblical understanding of gender roles is still visible in the contemporary Catho-lic discourse in Poland, as evidenced by the critical attitude of the Church hierarchy towards the LGBT+ people and the current initiatives of Polish laymen referring to military imagery.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) were inoculated into the root system of edible tomato plants to investigate their effect on the uptake and distribution of strontium radionuclide in the tissues of plants grown under laboratory conditions. The experiments were carried out in a sterile mixture of topsoil and sand, where in one series of experiments contaminated soil with 85Sr was used. Seeds were inoculated with a mixture of AMF at sowing, the second, control series was without application of AMF. Determination of radioactivity in soil and in different parts of tomato plants was carried out by gamma-spectrometric measurement. The obtained results and statistical analysis indicated a significant association between AMF inoculation of plants and the change in the distribution of 85Sr. The presence of AMF reduced the translocation of 85Sr from the root system to the aerial parts of tomato plants.

The possibility of improving the capability-based planning process is being investigated in order to minimize the need for weapons and military equipment and to maximize the acquisition of capabilities during their life cycle. Using the theory of fuzzy sets, the assessment of alternative samples of weapons and military equipment is carried out. A fuzzy inference model for determining the usefulness of weapons and military equipment in acquiring opportunities has been developed, based on fuzzy logic. The modeling of alternative models of weapons and military equipment was carried out in terms of costs at the stages of the life cycle “Use” and “Support” using the modern software environment MATLAB. The simulation results provided an opportunity at the planning stage to improve the efficiency of defense resource management using the value of the usefulness of weapons and military equipment. The introduction of the developed model into defense management makes it possible to automatically determine weapons and military equipment without the participation of experts, taking into account the cost of their life cycle and to bring the planning process closer to Euro-Atlantic approaches.

With the adoption of autonomous systems in higher levels of autonomy, large-scale, complex and dynamic systems are becoming commonplace. Ensuring safe operation of safety-critical autonomous systems is paramount, typically approached through risk assessment. Two challenges associated with using traditional risk assessment methods for complex systems are that these systems are dynamic (i.e., their state changes over time) and interactions between subsystems and components may lead to unpredictable behaviors and impact on the surrounding environment and other systems in the close vicinity. Dynamic probabilistic risk assessment (DPRA) methods are possible solutions to these challenges, where the dynamic and uncertain nature of the systems is considered. The methods, however, usually face combinatorial explosion related to hazards and scenarios, which make their practical application prohibitive; in the DPRA literature, this problem is known as the state explosion problem. In this paper, we present a literature review on methods for DPRA, with focus on the existing solutions to the state explosion problem. Specifically, we analyze and compare these solutions in terms of computational time complexity, traceability and state–space coverage. Finally, we discuss the comparisons and propose potential paths to improved solutions for the state explosion problem based on the knowledge gained in the study.

Decision support systems in offshore vessels utilize wave parameters in combination with physics-based vessel models to predict the vessel behavior prior to the initiation and execution of a marine operation. These predictions are, usually, accompanied by significant uncertainties inherent in the estimation of wave statistical parameters, idealized parametric spectra, and system variables. Consequently, the predictions may deviate considerably from the real behavior of the vessel. Therefore, this study uses numerical wave spectra corresponding to a site in the North Sea in conjunction with a hydrodynamic model adapted to measurements to make more accurate intermediate-term response predictions. Considering a weather-restricted marine operation, the intermediate-term predictions involve simulating the responses for any time window within the upcoming 72 hours. The vessel model’s uncertainty is minimized by calibrating the influential parameters utilizing the full-scale response measurements within an optimization framework. The subsequent Roll predictions based on calibrated parameters exhibit better alignment with the measured Roll motions. The application of recursive optimization showed a significant reduction in prediction errors in an actual marine operation.
