This article discusses a study that aimed to compare different predictors of pre-eclampsia with severe features (PSF) within two weeks. The study analyzed data from 18 US centers and looked at various factors such as maternal plasma biomarkers, blood pressure, and laboratory values. The results showed that a plasma ratio of sFlt-1/PlGF ≥11.5 MoM was independently associated with PSF and severe adverse perinatal outcomes. The study concluded that this plasma ratio can be used to predict the progression to PSF and severe adverse perinatal outcomes in hospitalized, hypertensive patients between 23-35 weeks of gestation.
