This paper investigates the spillover impact of US unconventional monetary policy and uncertainty factors on the time-varying co-movements between the US stock market and 14 advanced countries’ bond markets, as based on monthly data from January 2002, to October 2015, and utilising the conditional nonlinear quantile regression approach. The empirical results reveal that US unconventional monetary policy has an asymmetric positive effect on stockbond market co-movements, with a nonlinear effect in France and Denmark and a strong effect in the UK and Finland. Further, US bond market uncertainty has heterogeneous effects on stock-bond market co-movements, with a nonlinear effect in France and Denmark and a strong effect in Finland and Sweden. In addition, default risk spread positively influences stock-bond market co-movements across most countries for all quantiles. In contrast, stock-bond market comovements negatively and symmetrically respond to the US stock market uncertainty in most countries. Finally, stock-bond co-movements exhibit mixed responses to US economic policy uncertainty across countries. Our results have valuable implications for international investors who allocate capital across developed countries’ stock and bond markets. Our findings provide important information for financial communities with regard to diversification and hedging.

This paper fulfills a gap in the existing literature by analyzing the impact of government efficiency and corruption on the financial development of 31 OECD countries for the period 2002 to 2015 inclusively. To ensure robustness in our estimations, we employed several econometrics techniques, included control variables in our models, used several proxies for the variables under investigation, split the data into subgroups based on the degree of democracy, and repeated the analysis for these groups. Obtained findings provide strong evidence that government efficiency has a significant effect on financial development, and the sign of all the control variables are compatible with the a-priory theoretical expectations. The results of this study propose several policy recommendations to enhance financial development such as enhancing social cohesion through education on the use of tax contributions, revising budget procedures to ensure efficient spending of resources and to improve institutional quality, and reducing corruptive pursuits by targeting the informal economy activities and modifying the rule of law.

This study investigates the volatility and return spillovers between Private Equity Buyouts (PE) and Venture Capital (VC), the equity market, precious metals, real estate, and the Dollar index, which has been widely ignored in the literature. We analysed daily data from 2 January 2004 to 29 December 2022 using Diebold and Yılmaz's (2012) framework. Our data covers the global financial crisis and the COVID-19 period and is rich enough to examine the linkages between the mentioned financial markets thoroughly. PE's higher connectedness with the equity market than VC’s is the main finding of this research. Besides, PE and VC have low connectedness to precious metals, real estate, and the Dollar index. In the sample period, VC is a net receiver, while PE is a net transmitter of volatility and return spillover. An exciting finding is that during the COVID-19 pandemic, VC experienced lower volatility spillover than PE from the broad market proxied by S&P 500. Mindfulness has received considerable interest due to its positive outcomes for individuals however our understanding of how it may also result in positive outcomes for organizations is not fully understood. Using data collected from university academics (N = 255) in Northern Cyprus, we examine mindfulness as a factor that leads to Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) and Innovative Work Behaviors (IWB). We expect that eudaimonic well-being serves as the mechanism that links mindfulness to IWB and OCB. Our results show mindfulness improves eudaimonic well-being. Eudaimonic well-being fully mediates the Mindfulness—IWB relationship and partially mediates the Mindfulness—OCB relationship.
