Background The largest data on the epidemiology of primary glomerular diseases (PGDs) are obtained from the databases of countries or centers. Here, we present the extended results of the Primary Glomerular Diseases Study of the Turkish Society of Nephrology Glomerular Diseases (TSN-GOLD) Working Group. Methods Data of patients who underwent renal biopsy and received the diagnosis of PGD were recorded in the database prepared for the study. A total of 4399 patients from 47 centers were evaluated between May 2009 and May 2019. The data obtained at the time of kidney biopsy were analyzed. After the exclusion of patients without light microscopy and immunofluorescence microscopy findings, a total of 3875 patients were included in the study. Results The mean age was 41.5 +/- 14.9 years. 1690 patients were female (43.6%) and 2185 (56.3%) were male. Nephrotic syndrome was the most common biopsy indication (51.7%). This was followed by asymptomatic urinary abnormalities (18.3%) and nephritic syndrome (17.8%). The most common PGD was IgA nephropathy (25.7%) followed by membranous nephropathy (25.6%) and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (21.9%). The mean total number of glomeruli per biopsy was 17 +/- 10. The mean baseline systolic blood pressure was 130 +/- 20 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure was 81 +/- 12 mmHg. The median proteinuria, serum creatinine, estimated GFR, and mean albumin values were 3300 (IQR: 1467-6307) mg/day, 1.0 (IQR: 0.7-1.6) mg/dL, 82.9 (IQR: 47.0-113.0) mL/min and 3.2 +/- 0.9 g/dL, respectively. Conclusions The distribution of PGDs in Turkey has become similar to that in other European countries. Günümüzde kısıtlı kaynakların etkin kullanımı konusunda çevresel yönetim, şirketlerin birincil öncelikleri haline gelmiştir. Bu durumun doğal bir sonucu olarak şirketlerin maliyetleri yükselmekte ve kar oranları azalabilmektedir. Bu noktada, atıkların ve değer katmayan faaliyetlerin elimine edilmesi temel prensibine dayalı yalın üretim sistemleri, karlılık ve etkinliği arttırabilecek alternatif bir yaklaşımı ortaya koyması bakımından önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma kapsamında da çevresel yönetim ile yalın üretim sistemlerinin ve firma performansı ilişkisinin ampirik olarak analiz edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca teknolojik yönelimin çevresel yönetim ve firma performansı ilişkisindeki moderatör etkisi de çalışma kapsamında analiz edilmekte ve bu anlamda ilgili literatüre katkıda bulunulması hedeflenmektedir. Çalışma kapsamında önerilip analiz edilen model gerek alandaki diğer araştırmalara gerekse de şirketlere öneriler sunmakta ve sonuçlar genel istatistiki değerleri ortaya koymanın ötesinde, çevresel yönetim, yalın üretim ve firma performansı arasındaki uygulamaya dönük ilişkileri yönetsel anlamda tanımlamaktadır, Environmental management has increasingly become one of the key concerns of companies for effective utilization of their limited resources. Growing sensibility towards environmental issues mainly leads to increased costs for the companies and thus might reduce profitability. However lean production systems propose an alternative approach to improve both effectiveness and profitability by eliminating waste and non-value added transactions/activities. The main purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the relationship between environmental management and lean production systems as well as their effect on firm performance. The moderating effect of technological orientation between environmental management and firm performance is also examined. The model presented provides implications for both empirical research and company management in practice. Expected findings focus less on general statistical correlations and more on causal relationships of environmental management, lean production and firm performance. Consequently, implications and future research directions are also discussed according to the results

Günümüzün rekabetçi ve hızla değişen işletme çevresinde, etkinlik ve verimlilik tüm sektörler için öncelikli konuların başında gelmektedir. Dinamik kalite yönetim sistemi, işletme süreçlerini sistematik yaklaşımla entegre etmesi bakımından yenilikçi bir model ortaya koymaktadır. Katma değer sağlamayan faaliyetlerin elimine edilme temel felsefesine sahip yalın yönetim sistemi ile entegre edilmiş dinamik kalite yönetim sistemi etkinliği arttırmak için anahtar bir rolde değerlendirilebilir. Bu anlamda bu çalışma kapsamında dinamik kalite yönetim sistemi ile yalın üretim sistemi ilişkisi meta-analizi yöntemi kullanılarak teorik olarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma bulgularının dinamik kalite yönetimi sisteminden başarı sağlamak için gerekli işletme modelini ortaya koyması bakımından önem taşımaktadır. Bu anlamda gerek akademik araştırmacılara gerekse de sektörel yöneticilere ışık tutacak sonuçlar ortaya konabilmektedir, In today's highly competitive and rapidly changing business environment, the issues of efficiency and productivity are essential concerns for all industries. Dynamic quality management has emerged as an innovation model that integrates systematic process concerns into business processes. Considering the lean management system philosophy, which mainly aims to eliminate waste by using effective tools, integrated dynamic quality management has become a key factor for increasing effectiveness. Accordingly, this study mainly aims to examine the relationship between dynamic quality management and lean production systems through the whole business processes. This ambiguous relationship is theoretically analyzed by using recent studies in the management field as a meta-analysis method. The study findings demonstrate how to build the necessary business model for achieving success in dynamic quality management approach. Consequently, the insightful comments are provided for both academic researchers and sectoral managers

Polymers were synthesized and utilized for aflatoxin detection coupled with a novel lab-on-a-chip biosensor: MiSens and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Non-imprinted polymers (NIPs) were preferred to be designed and used due to the toxic nature of aflatoxin template and also to avoid difficult clean-up protocols. Towards an innovative miniaturized automated system, a novel biochip has been designed that consists of 6 working electrodes (1 mm diameter) with shared reference and counter electrodes. The aflatoxin detection has been achieved by a competition immunoassay that has been performed using the new biochips and the automated MiSens electrochemical biosensor device. For the assay, aflatoxin antibody has been captured on the Protein A immobilized electrode. Subsequently the sample and the enzyme-aflatoxin conjugate mixture has been injected to the electrode surfaces. The final injection of the enzyme substrate results in an amperometric signal. The sensor assays for aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) in different matrices were also performed using enzyme link immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and HPLC for confirmation. High recovery was successfully achieved in spiked wheat samples using NIP coupled HPLC and NIP coupled MiSens biosensor [2 ppb of aflatoxin was determined as 1.86 ppb (93% recovery), 1.73 ppb (86.5% recovery), 1.96 ppb (98% recovery) and 1.88 ppb (94.0% recovery) for immunoaffinity column (IAC)-HPLC, NIP-HPLC, Supel (TM) Tox SPE Cartridges (SUP)-HPLC and NIP-MiSens, respectively]. Aflatoxin detection in fig samples were also investigated with MiSens biosensor and the results were compared with HPLC method. The new biosensor allows real-time and on-site detection of AFB1 in foods with a rapid, sensitive, fully automated and miniaturized system and expected to have an immense economic impact for food industry. Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the current level of first aid knowledge of the workers and compare it to the level that measured after a training given at a furniture manufacturing factory located in Akyurt district of Ankara province. In the study, educational status and the state of being received a first aid course previously were also analyzed considering the possible effects on first aid knowledge level.
