Abstract. The Y(2175), recently renamed to ϕ(2170), is one of the rare exotic candidates connected to strangeonium as compared to the heavier charmonium-like and bottomonium-like exotic states. Originally observed in initial state radiation events by the BaBar experiment in 2006, it is suggested to be a strange partner state of the charmonium-like exotic vector state Y(4230) that was one of the first of the so-called XYZ states reported in the charmonium mass region. The Y(2175) has been seen in various experiments and decay channels,but it has not yet been searched for in a photo-production experiment. In this talk we report on a measurement of the production cross section of the reaction γ + p → ϕπ+ π− + p based on data recorded by the GlueX experiment in order to search for Y(2175) → ϕπ+π−.>

The PANDA detection system at FAIR, Germany, is designed to study antiproton-proton annihilations, in order to investigate among others the realm of charm-meson states and glueballs, which has still much to reveal. The yet unknown properties of this field are to be unraveled through studying QCD phenomena in the non-perturbative regime. The multipurpose PANDA detector will be capable of tracking, calorimetry, and particle identification, and is foreseen to run at high luminosities providing average reaction rates up to 20 Million interactions/s. The envisaged physics program requires measurements of photons and charged particles with excellent energy, position, and time resolutions. The electromagnetic calorimeter (EMC) will serve as one of the basic components of the detector setup and comprises cooled Lead-Tungstate (PbWO4) crystals. This paper presents the mechanical design of the Forward End-cap calorimeter and analyses the response of this detector component in conjunction with the full EMC and the complete PANDA detector. The simulation studies are focused on the performance of the planned EMC with respect to the energy and spatial resolution of the reconstructed photons. Results of the Monte Carlo simulations, excluding very low-energy photons, have been validated by data obtained from a prototype calorimeter and shown to fulfil the requirements imposed by the PANDA physics program., Comment: 22 Pages, 24 Figures, 4 Tables

We present a detailed simulation study of the signatures from the sequential decays of the triple-strange pbar p -> {\Omega}+{\Omega}- -> K+{\Lambda}barK- {\Lambda} -> K+pbar{\pi}+K-p{\pi}- process in the PANDA central tracking system with focus on hit patterns and precise time measurement. We present a systematic approach for studying physics channels at the detector level and develop input criteria for tracking algorithms and trigger lines. Finally, we study the beam momentum dependence on the reconstruction efficiency for the PANDA detector.

- Abstract
The Born cross sections of the e+e− → D*+D*− and e+e− → D*+D− processes are measured using e+e− collision data collected with the BESIII experiment at center-of-mass energies from 4.085 to 4.600 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 15.7 fb−1. The results are consistent with and more precise than the previous measurements by the Belle, Babar and CLEO collaborations. The measurements are essential for understanding the nature of vector charmonium and charmonium-like states.

Deep machine learning methods have been studied for the software trigger of the future PANDA experiment at FAIR, using Monte Carlo simulated data from the GEANT-based detector simulation framework PandaRoot. Ten physics channels that cover the main physics topics, including electromagnetic, exotic, charmonium, open charm, and baryonic reaction channels, have been investigated at four different anti-proton beam momenta. Binary and multi-class classification together with seven different network architectures have been studied. Finally a residual convolutional neural network with four residual blocks in a binary classification scheme has been chosen due to its extendability, performance and stability. The presented study represents a feasibility study of a completely software-based trigger system. Compared to a conventional selection method, the deep machine learning approach achieved a significant efficiency gain of up to 200\%, while keeping the background reduction factor at the required level of 1/1000. Furthermore, it is shown that the use of additional input variables can improve the data quality for subsequent analysis. The Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research FAIR, in Darmstadt Germany, will be one of the largest accelerator laboratories worldwide. The Superconducting FRagment Separator (Super-FRS)* is one of its main components. The Super-FRS can produce, separate and deliver high-energy radioactive beams with intensities up to 1e11 ions/s, covering projectiles from protons up to uranium and it can be used as an independent experimental device. The Gas Electron Multiplier-based Time Projection Chambers (GEM-TPC) in twin configuration is a newly developed beam tracking detector capable of providing spatial resolution of less than 1 mm with a tracking efficiency close to 100% at 1 MHz counting rate. The GEM-TPC (HGB4) was tested at the FRagment Separator (FRS), with 238U beam at 850 MeV/u. A new clusterization method was developed, for the first time and used for an analysis. This method allowed to access to waveforms of each strip signal within a single trigger in an event-by-event basis. - Abstract
The electromagnetic process is studied with the initial-state-radiation technique using 7.5 fb−1 of data collected by the BESIII experiment at seven energy points from 3.773 to 4.600 GeV. The Born cross section and the effective form factor of the proton are measured from the production threshold to 3.0 GeV/ using the invariant-mass spectrum. The ratio of electric and magnetic form factors of the proton is determined from the analysis of the proton-helicity angular distribution.

Der am Speicherring PEP-II des Stanford Linear Accelerator Centers befindliche BABAR-Detektor bietet neben der Rekonstruktion von B-Mesonen zur Untersuchung der CP-Verletzung auch hervorragende Möglichkeiten zur Spektroskopie charmhaltiger Teilchen wie Ds-Mesonen. Bei der Untersuchung der Zerfallsraten schwerer Mesonen fällt auf, dass die Verzweigungsverhältnisse mit dem Axialvektormeson a1+ im Endzustand von gleicher Größenordnung sind wie die entsprechenden Werte mit dem Vektormeson rho+ im Endzustand. Diese Feststellung führt zur Hypothese einer Vektordominanz bei schwachen Zerfällen schwerer Mesonen. Beschrieben wird die Rekonstruktion der Zerfälle \(D_{s}\rightarrow\phi\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{\pm}\) und \(D_{s}\rightarrow\phi\pi^{\pm}\), sowie die Bestimmung des relativen Verzweigungsverhältnisses dieser beiden Zerfallskanäle. Die anschliessende Untersuchung der Resonanzstruktur des 3-Pion-Systems im erstgenannten Zerfallskanals zum Nachweis des Zerfalls \(D_{s}\rightarrow\pi{}\) a1 führt zum Test des oben genannten Vektordominanzmodelles.
