Soccer is one of the high intensity activities requiring an intensive training since the regulatory process may increase the oxidative stress in the form of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Free radicals occurring due to the imbalance of endogenous antioxidants can be measured by examining the malondialdehyde (MDA) and Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) levels as endogenous antioxidants. This outcome will affect the formation of Hemoglobin (Hb), automatically affecting the athlete ability to bind oxygen and their VO2Max. The average SOD level of soccer athletes at the Student Sports Education and Training Center (PPLP) was 45.945 U/mg. This study is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design aimed to determine the correlation between antioxidant intake with pro-oxidants (MDA) and endogenous antioxidants (SOD) at the same research period. In this study, the total sampling technique was chosen. A total of 33 soccer athletes of PPLP Medan, from both the main and reserve teams, participated in this study. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis by employing linear regression statistical tests. The results showed that there was a correlation between antioxidant intake with MDA and SOD levels of soccer athletes with p0.005. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the most influential variable on MDA levels was vitamin C intake, affecting the decrease in MDA levels by 5.545 times. Meanwhile, for SOD levels, the most influential variable was zinc intake, affecting the increase by 6.354 times. In conclusion, there is a correlation between antioxidant intake with MDA and SOD levels, where MDA levels are strongly influenced by vitamin C intake while SOD levels are influenced by zinc intake.

Latar belakang: Obesitas merupakan suatu penyakit multifaktorial yang terjadi akibat penyimpanan jaringan lemak yang berlebihan. World Health Organization (WHO) menyatakan obesitas dan overweight merupakan faktor risiko penyebab kematian ke-5 di dunia yaitu berat badan berlebih (overweight) dan kegemukan (obesity). Hasil pemantauan status gizi yang diprakarsai oleh Direktorat Gizi Masyarakat Kemenkes 2018, menyatakan secara nasional status gizi penduduk dewasa >18 tahun berdasarkan IMT di dapatkan orang yang menderita kegemukan 14,6% dan obesitas 28,5%. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2018, terjadi peningkatan orang dewasa di Indonesia mengalami obesitas meningkat, tahun 2013 14.8% meningkat menjadi 21,8%, untuk status gizi lebih terjadi peningkatan dari 11,5% menjadi 13,6%. Obesitas dapat dicegah dengan mengkonsumsi buah dan umbi-umbian yang tinggi serat, vitamin C, kandungan antioksidan dan nilai IGnya rendah. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya terima serta kandungan fitokimia minuman sehat mar’ke billar. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental dengan desain rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 kali perlakuan dan 2 kali pengulangan. Dari hasil organoleptik yang terpilih paling disukai, diperiksa dan dianalisis kadar total antioksidan, vitamin C, serat dan IGnya. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil uji organoleptik didapatkan daya terima tertinggi pada formula 2 dengan formulasi markisa 30 ml, kesemek 50 ml, ubi jalar ungu 50 ml dan air 70 ml. Sedangkan untuk kandungan total antioksidan nilai tertinggi sebesar 39,73 mg/ml, serat 4,0 gr, indiglikemik 0,62 ig, vitamin C 56,81 mg. Formula minuman sehat yang paling disukai berdasarkan uji panelis adalah formula 2 sedangkan berdasarkan kandungan gizi pada formula 2 didapati antioksidan 39,73, serat 4,0 gr, indeksglikemik 62%, dan vitamin c 56,81 mg. Background: COVID-19 caused by SARS-Cov2 was reported by WHO that have infected people around the world and caused death. Indonesia was the country with the highest mortality compared to countries in Asia at around 7.2%. COVID-19 caused the decrease in body's immunity so that an adequate intake of vitamins A, E, C as well as iron and zinc minerals was needed to prevent the easy transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Objective: Assesing the role of micronutrients with the exposure tendency to COVID 19 in adults in Medan Estate, Deli Serdang. Methods: The research was observational with a cross sectional design. The population aged 30-58 years amounted to 158 people, while the sample was determined based on simple random sampling method and obtained sample of 61 people. Vitamins A, C, E intake as well as zinc and iron minerals were obtained using food recall for 3 days, then processed with Nutrisurvey. Meanwhile, the exposure tendency to COVID-19 was obtained by filling out a form about the symptoms experienced during the pandemic. Results: The results showed that the intake of vitamin A was in sufficient category of 58%, vitamin C was in less category of 69%, vitamin E was in less category of 61%, zinc was in less category of 54%, and iron in sufficient category of 53%. The results of statistical tests showed that there was correlation between intake of vitamins A, C and iron minerals to the exposure tendency to COVID 19, while vitamin E and zinc were not related to the exposure tendency to COVID 19. Conclusions: There was correlation between intake of vitamins A, C and iron minerals with a exposure tendency to COVID 19, while vitamin E and zinc were not associated with exposure tendency to COVID 19. Required adequate intake of nutrients in preventing transmission of Covid 19, also continues with obligation to comply health protocol that recommended by the Government.

Snakehead fish has high content of zinc and albumin, it can be given to people with immune disorder. Snakehead fish can be made into various kind of food product that are high in nutrients, have aestetic value, and taste like nugget. The effectiveness of zinc and albumin function can work optimally when the consumption is combined with food ingredient that are high in bioactive substances such as lycopene, anthocyanin, flavonoid, karetonoid, bromelain, papain and quercetin. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectof snakehead nugget administration and colored fruit juices simultaneously on clinical manifestation, BMI, TLC, albumin and CD4 value in PLHIV at HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Center in Medan. The design of research was quasy experimental with pre and post test design. The subjects was 40 people who lived at HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Center in Medan and given snackhead fish nugget and colored fruit juice for 24 days. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus attacking the body's defense system in people living with HIV (PLHIV), such as Cluster Of Differentiation 4 (CD4), Leukocytes, and Total Lymphocyte Count (TLC). People infected with HIV require adequate macro and micronutrients to improve their quality of life. The content of protein, albumin, zinc, and bioactive substances contained in food ingredients can increase the immune response. Snakehead fish nuggets are rich in Albumin and Zn, while colored fruit juice contains bioactive substances and is high in Vitamin C. This study aimed to determine the impact of snakehead fish nuggets and colored fruit juices on CD4, leukocytes, and TLC in PLHIV in Medan. This research was a Quasi Experiment with a pre and post-test design. The sample represented an entire population of 36 people from all residents of the Rehabilitation Center and was then given the treatment of snakehead fish nuggets and colored fruit juices for 22 days. Correlation of macronutrient intake with body mass index, blood sugar levels, and total blood protein in drug users Background: Random blood sugar level and total blood protein need to be measured among drug users because their macronutrient intakes (carbohydrates, fat, protein, and energy) are not appropriate to the pattern of daily habits before uses drugs. Drug users had decreased appetite during the influence and withdrawal symptoms of drugs with the impacts on their body mass index (BMI). Objective: To analyze the correlation of macronutrient intakes between the random blood sugar level, total blood protein, and BMI drug users. Methods: This research was conducted with a cross-sectional design and observational study. 73 drug users were included in the study with the screening by inclusion criteria. 24-hour food recall was used to collect the macronutrient intakes, random blood sugar levels and total blood protein were monitored by the GOD-PAP method, and BMI was measured by weight and height. Data analysis used Pearson’s correlation test in bivariate and multivariate was carried out by multiple linear regressions. Results: Pearson’s correlation analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between macronutrient intakes (energy, carbohydrate, fat) with random blood sugar level, total blood protein, and BMI. BMI was the most affected by energy (β=0.531), random blood sugar level was the most affected by carbohydrates (β=0.073), and total blood protein was the most affected by protein (β=0.837). Conclusions: Macronutrient intake is significantly related to BMI, random blood sugar levels, and total blood protein in drug users. Community collaboration with related parties such as the public health service and National Narcotics Agency will very quickly detect drug side effects early on eating disorders that will affect the nutritional status of its users.

Drug users are generally vulnerable to malnutrition because of the side effects of drugs itself that has resulted in appetite reduction and nutrients malabsorption. Abstrak Saat ini semakin berkembangnya penduduk di dunia dan Indonesia yang menjadi vegetarian, dimana hasil survey yang dilakukan oleh American Dietetic Association (ADA) menunjukkan jumlah vegetarian pada tahun 2006, sekitar 4,9 juta (2,3%) penduduk dewasa di Amerika menjadi vegetarian dan sekitar 1,4 % menjadi vegetarian vegan sedangkan di Kanada sekitar 900 orang penduduk dewasanya menjadi vegetarian. Jumlah vegetarian di Indonesia yang terdaftar pada Indonesia Vegetarian Society (IVS) saat berdiri pada tahun 1998 sekitar 5.000 anggota dan meningkat menjadi 60.000 anggota pada tahun 2000. Sedangkan jumlah IVS di kota Medan pada tahun 2013 sebanyak 2000 orang. Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terhadap 49 orang penganut vegetarian di Maha Vihara Maitreya pada tanggal 26 Oktober 2013, terdapat sekitar 32% mempunyai kadar kolesterol darah diatas normal. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan asupan energi, karbohidrat dan serat dengan kadar trigliserida dan glukosa darah (KGD) pada komunitas vegetarian IVS di Maha Vihara Maitreya Cemara Asri Medan tahun 2014. Metode Penelitian ini bersifat Observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling, sedangkan untuk menganalisis data dilakukan uji Korelasi Pearson. Dengan mengambil kesimpulan, jika p0,05 maka Ho diterima. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan antara asupan energi, karbohidrat dan serat dengan kadar trigliserida dan glukosa darah (KGD) sampel komunitas vegetarian, dimana hubungan tersebut memiliki keeratan pada tingkat sedang dan kuat. Untuk itu perlu disarankan agar penganut vegetarian tetap menjaga keseimbangan komsumsi antara energi, KH, dan serat. Kata kunci : Asupan zat gizi, KGD, Trigliserida Darah, Vegetarian Abstrak Currently, there has been a growing number of people in the world and in Indonesia that becomes vegetarian, where the survey conducted by American Dietetic Asscociation (ADA) shows the number of vegetarians in 2006 is around 4,9 billion (2,3%) adult in American becoming vegetarian and 1,4 % becoming vegan vegetarian while in Canada, 900 adult population becomes vegetarian. The number of Vegetarians in Indonesia which is listed in IVS that was established in 1998 was around 5000 members and increased to 6000 members in 2000 while the number of IVSs in Medan city in 2013 was 2000 people.For the first/preliminary study done by researcher of 49 vegetarians in Maha Vihara Maitreya 26 October 2013, there was 32% of vegetarians having blood cholesterol levels more than normal. The purpose of the research was to know the relationship between energy intake, carbohydrate and fiber with triglycerides and blood glucose levels on vegetarian. This study was an observational method and used cross sectional design. Sample collected used purposive sampling method, while to analyze the data, Pearson correlation was used. The Conclusion is if p0,05 H0 is then accepted. The results showed the correlation between energy intake of carbohydrates and fiber with triglycerides and blood glucose level sample of vegetarian community, where the relation has a closeness to moderate and strong level.
