Abstract

In Deutschland ist seit Jahren ein wachsender Trend zu autoritären, demokratie- und menschenfeindlichen Denk- und Handlungsweisen im öffentlichen Leben zu verzeichnen. Trotz professionstheoretischer und -ethischer Abgrenzungen gegenüber solchen Positionen zeigen sich solche Einflussnahmen auch in der Sozialen Arbeit. Die vorgestellten Befunde aus einem Forschungsprojekt der Hochschule Neubrandenburg systematisieren die Versuche der Einflussnahme extrem rechter Diskurse, Praktiken und Akteure und zeigen Möglichkeiten des Umgangs mit ihnen.

Abstract

For many applications one wishes to decide whether a certain set of numbers originates from an equiprobability distribution or whether they are unequally distributed. Distributions of relative frequencies may deviate significantly from the corresponding probability distributions due to finite sample effects. Hence, it is not trivial to discriminate between an equiprobability distribution and non-equally distributed probabilities when knowing only frequencies. Based on analytical results we provide a software tool which allows to decide whether data correspond to an equiprobability distribution. The tool is available at http://bioinf.charite.de/equifreq/. Abstract

Caloric restriction (CR) has proven beneficial to healthspan and lifespan, but not enough is known about the molecular mechanisms that interlink the human CR response and its downstream effectors. We induced acute caloric restriction in a controlled human intervention study and compared plasma proteome, metabolome and endocrine responses. We report that plasma proteins that dominate the response to negative and positive energy balance in CR are associated with disease-relevant endocrine parameters in two population studies. For example, APOC1, a small and understudied apolipoprotein, was not only CR-induced but also dominated the human response to glucose consumption and differed in abundance between individuals with and without diabetes. Our study shows that acute and time-limited CR acts on the plasma proteome, affecting molecular pathways that are intrinsically associated with human endocrine parameters important for metabolic health.

Abstract

Sowohl in Deutschland als auch in ganz Europa ist seit einigen Jahren ein wachsender Trend zu autoritären, demokratie- und menschenfeindlichen Denk- und Handlungsweisen zu verzeichnen. Trotz einer angenommenen hohen Sensibilität gegenüber solchen Positionen ist eine Einflussnahme auch auf die Soziale Arbeit und ihre Akteure nicht ausgeschlossen. Die Studie "Die extreme Rechte in der Sozialen Arbeit in MV" (Laufzeit 06/2020-07/2021) untersucht die Versuche der Einflussnahme extrem rechter Diskurse und Akteure auf die bzw. innerhalb der Sozialen Arbeit in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern systematisch mithilfe eines Mixed-Methods-Ansatzes. Der Artikel stellt die Ergebnisse der Studie sowie ihre methodische Umsetzung dar und analysiert die empirischen Zugänge und methodischen Möglichkeiten der Wissenschaft Sozialer Arbeit in Hinblick auf eigene Beiträge zur Rechtsextremismusforschung., Both in Germany and throughout Europe, there has been a growing trend towards authoritarian, anti-democratic and anti-human ways of thinking and acting for some years now. Despite an assumed high sensitivity towards such positions, an influence on social work and its professionals cannot be ruled out. The study "The far right in social work in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania" (06/2020-07/2021) systematically investigates the attempts of far right discourses and actions to influence social work in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania using a mixed methods approach. The article presents the results of the study as well as its methodological implementation. Furthermore, it analyses the empirical approaches and methodological possibilities of social work with regard to its own contributions to right-wing extremism research.
