La metodología de los programas de educación afectivo-sexual de las personas con diversidad funcional intelectual (PDFI) para ser eficaz potenciando una vivencia saludable, positiva y satisfactoria de su sexualidad debe adaptarse a las características y necesidades del colectivo. La literatura disponible sobre la metodología utilizada en los programas de educación afectivo-sexual para PDFI y, en general, en el diseño experimental de los estudios es escasa. El objetivo de esta revisión bibliográfica es conocer el diseño, el contenido y la metodología de aprendizaje de los programas que se han implementado entre 2010 y 2021. La búsqueda bibliográfica se realizó con los términos “sex education”, “intellectual disability” y “program OR treatment OR intervention”, en las siguientes bases de datos: PsycInfo, PsycArticles, ERIC, Web of Science y Google Scholar. De los 1123 artículos identificados, se excluyeron los artículos de revisión, caso único y aquellos cuya muestra no eran las propias PDFI (p.e. padres, profesionales, etc). Finalmente, sólo 11 cumplieron el criterio de describir el diseño de programaseducativos para PDFI. Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de las intervenciones fueron implementadas en muestras heterogéneas, tanto en lo referido al CI (el 36,6% combinaban personas con discapacidad leve y moderada) como al género (el 63,6% incluían mujeres y hombres) y la edad (el 63,6% incluían a jóvenes y adultos). Respecto a la metodología empleada, el 72.7% usaron dinámicas de juego, el 63,6% discusión guiada y 54,5% rol playing. Por lo que se refiere a los contenidos trabajados, los más frecuentes son: partes del cuerpo (100%), habilidades sociales (85,7%), relaciones interpersonales (85,7%); asertividad sexual (85,7%) y prevención de abusos sexuales (85,7%). Podríamos concluir que, independientemente del abordaje realizado, la mayoría de los estudios que describen estos programas carecen de una descripción exhaustiva del diseño, contenido y metodología, lo cual dificulta su replicabilidad. Methodology of sex education programs for people with intellectual disability: a systematic review. The methodology of the affective-sexual education programs of people with intellectual functional diversity (PDFI) to be effective in promoting a healthy, positive and satisfactory experience of their sexuality must adapt to the characteristicsand needs of thecollective. Theavailableliterature on the methodology used in affective-sexualeducation programs for PDFI and, in general, in the experimental design of the studies is scarce. The objective of this literature review is to know the design, content and learning methodology of the programs that have been implemented between 2010 and 2021. The bibliographic search was carried out with the terms “sex education”, “intellectual disability” and “program or intervention or treatment”, in the following databases: PsycoInfo, PsycArticles, ERIC, Web of Science and Google Scholar. Of the 1123 articles identified, the review articles, single case and those whose sample were not the people with intellectual disabilities themselves (e.g., parents, professionals, etc.) were excluded. Finally, only 11 met the criteria to describe the design of educational programs for PDFI. The results show that most of the interventions were implemented in heterogeneous samples, both in terms of IQ (36.6% combined people with mild and moderate disabilities) and gender (63.63% included women and men) and age (63.63% included young people and adults). Regarding the methodology used, 72.72% used game dynamics, 63.63% guided discussion and 54.54% role playing. Regarding the contents worked, the most frequent are: body parts (100%), social skills (85.7%), interpersonal relationships (85.7%); sexual assertiveness (85.7%) and prevention of sexual abuse (85.7%). We could conclude that, regardless of the approach taken, most of the studies that describe these programs lack an exhaustive description of the design, content and methodology, which hinders their replicability.

La salud sexual de los/as adolescentes y jóvenes suele mirarse desde una lente que se enfoca en los problemas. En el caso de los adolescentes que están en el sistema de protección infantil este análisis centrado en los riesgos es mayor si cabe, dado que experimentan tasas más altas de resultados negativos de salud sexual. La presente revisión tiene el objetivo de examinar la literatura relacionada con los comportamientos sexuales de riesgo de los adolescentes y jóvenes que se encuentran en el sistema de protección. Para ello, se han consultado varias bases de datos (Web of Science, Scopus y PUBMED), restringiendo la búsqueda a las palabras clave “sexual behavior” o “sexual risk” y “child welfare system” o “foster youth”, y el rango de publicación entre 2011 y 2021. De las 1496 publicaciones identificadas inicialmente, se eliminaron aquellas duplicadas y/o que no cumplían los criterios de inclusión, quedándonos con un total de 22 artículos. La mitad de las publicaciones que analizaban los comportamientos predictivos de conductas sexuales de riesgo se centraban en las experiencias de abuso sexual en la infancia. Por otro lado, el 22,7% de los artículos analizados informaban de un uso deficitario del preservativo entre los jóvenes en hogares de acogida, mientras que el 18,2% afirmaban que este colectivo presenta una mayor prevalencia de ITS y el 31,8% reportan que las tasas de embarazo son más altas entre las chicas de esta población. Asimismo, el 18,2% de los estudios analizados encontraron indicios de una posible relación entre la participación en el sistema de bienestar infantil y en actividades de sexo transaccional. Así, aunque la investigación sobre este tema sigue siendo escasa, esta revisión pone de manifiesto el riesgo de desarrollar patrones poco saludables de sexualidad entre los jóvenes del sistema de protección. For adolescents in the child welfare system this risk-focused analysis is even greater, as they experience higher rates of negative sexual health outcomes. The present review aims to examine the literature related to sexual risk behaviors ofadolescentsand young peoplein thechild welfaresystem. For this purpose,several databases(Web of Science, Scopus and PUBMED) were consulted, restricting the search to the keywords “sexual behavior” or “sexual risk” and “child welfare system” or “foster youth”, and the publication range between 2011 and 2021. Likewise, 18.18% of the studies analyzed found evidence of a possible relationship between participation in the child welfare system and transactional sex activities. Thus, although research on this topic remains scarce, this review highlights the risk of developing unhealthy patterns of sexuality among youth in the child welfare system

El concepto de salud sexual (OMS, 2018) se extiende, tal y como ocurrió con el concepto de salud en general, más allá de la ausencia de patología hacia una perspectiva más inclusiva, que pasaría por la experiencia de un proceso pluridimensional de consecución de bienestar sexual físico, psicológico y sociocultural. Desde estos parámetros, la calidad de vida sexual tendría en cuenta el amplio abanico de manifestaciones conductuales y actitudinales que a través de las influencias socio-culturales y, en interacción con los factores biológicos, modularía aspectos tan importantes como la identidad sexual, la comunicación y el placer sexual, además de la reproducción (Cabello, 2010; Inman & Sandhu, 2002). En el presente capítulo se ofrece una selección de los principales problemas relativos a la sexualidad a los que se enfrentan los menores. Muchos de estos problemas tienen su origen en la adolescencia, mientras que otros se inician en la infancia y van evolucionando y adquiriendo diferente dimensión con el transcurso del tiempo si no son abordados de forma eficaz.

La diversidad sexual tiende a considerarse una cuestión que afecta principalmente a personas jóvenes por lo que los estudios centrados en la vivencia de una orientación sexual minoritaria en personas mayores son muy escasos. El objetivo de este estudio ha sido analizar el grado de coincidencia entre la orientación sexual autodefinida, el objeto de deseo y las personas con las que se han tenido relaciones sexuales. En este estudio han participado 244 personas (47,5% hombres y 52,5% mujeres) de entre 55 y 80 años, pertenecientes a distintos grupos de nivel socioeconómico, grado académico y situación laboral. Todas ellas han cumplimentado un cuestionario sobre orientación sexual y aspectos como religión o actividad sexual. Los resultados muestran que el 13% de los mayores (8,6% hombres, 16,4% mujeres) no se sienten atraídos exclusivamente por el sexo opuesto, y el 6% reconoce haber mantenido prácticas homoeróticas (3,5% hombres y 7,9% mujeres). En los hombres la coincidencia entre autodefinición y objeto de deseo es mayor que en las mujeres. Se discute la necesidad de realizar futuros estudios cualitativos que posibiliten conocer qué variables, relacionadas con la historia sexual y la trayectoria vital de las personas, influyen en la exploración y/o aceptación de opciones sexuales no mayoritarias. Sexual diversity tends to be considered as an issue that mainly affects young people, so studies focusing on the experience of a minority sexual orientation in older people are very scarce. The aim of this study was to analyse the degree of coincidence between the self-defined sexual orientation, the object of desire and the people with whom one has had sexual relations. A total of 244 people (47.5% men and 52.5% women) between the ages of 55 and 80 participated in this study, belonging to different groups of socioeconomic level, academic degree and employment situation. All of them completed a questionnaire on sexual orientation and aspects such as religion or sexual activity. The results show that 13 per cent of older people (8.6 per cent men, 16.4 per cent women) are not attracted exclusively to the opposite sex, and 6 per cent acknowledge having maintained homoerotic practices (3.5 per cent men, 7.9 per cent women). In men the coincidence between self-definition and object of desire is greater than in women. It discusses the need for future qualitative studies that make it possible to know which variables, related to the sexual history and life trajectory of individuals, influence the exploration and/or acceptance of non-majority sexual options

El sexting es un fenómeno que consiste en el envío y la recepción de fotos, videos y/o mensajes de texto de naturaleza sexual a través de smartphones. Como en todos los demás países desarrollados, se está convirtiendo en una práctica cada vez más popular entre los adolescentes de España. Al tratarse de un fenómeno muy reciente todavía no existen muchos trabajos que hayan estudiado con profundidad su entidad y sus factores implicados. Por tanto, los dos objetivos de este estudio fueron determinar la prevalencia y analizar las variables explicativas del inicio y del mantenimiento de las conductas de sexting. La muestra estuvo formada por 784 adolescentes españoles (52% chicos y 48% chicas) con edades comprendidas entre los 12 y los 18 años (M = 14.44; DT = 1.61). Los resultados indican que el 24.4% ha practicado sexting en alguna ocasión, realizando esta conducta con una media de 2.32 personas (DT = 2.70). El análisis de regresión reveló que las actitudes positivas hacia el sexting, el nivel de impulsividad, la edad, ser hombre y el mantener una relación de pareja son variables que predicen la práctica del sexting. Estos resultados son muy importantes en la elaboración e implementación de estrategias preventivas que enfaticen el uso responsable de las TICS y las redes sociales. Sexting is a recent phenomenon in which people send and receive photos, videos and/or text messages of sexual nature via smartphones or similar devices. Similar to other developed countries, it is becoming an increasingly popular practice among teenagers in Spain. Provided it has appeared very recently, scarce research has focused on examining in-depth factors involved in its initiation and maintenance. Therefore, the two main aims of this study were to determine its prevalence and to analyse the explanatory variables of the sexting behaviours. The sample consisted of 784 Spanish adolescents (52% boys and 48% girls) between 12 and 18 years of age (M = 14.44; SD = 1.61). The results showed that 24.4% have practised sexting at some time, with an average of 2.32 people (SD = 2.70). The regression analysis revealed that positive attitudes towards sexting, level of impulsivity, age, being male and having a partner are variables that predict engagement in sexting. These results are very important for designing and implementing preventive strategies that emphasise the responsible use of ICTs and social networks.

Following the first outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan in December 2019, where Chinese authorities confirmed 41 cases detected between December 8 and January 2, 2020, the city stopped reporting cases until January 19, when 17 more cases were confirmed. By then, the first cases of COVID-19 had been reported outside China: two in Thailand and one in Japan. The rapid spread of the disease led the World Health Organization to declare it an international health emergency on Jan. 30, 2020. By that date, COVID-19 had been detected in all provinces of mainland China and cases were reported in 15 other countries. On March 11, the disease was present in more than 100 territories worldwide and was recognized as a pandemic by WHO. The number of confirmed cases continued to grow and on April 12, the number of confirmed cases worldwide stands at 1,524,161, in Europe at 830,260 and in Spain at 161,852. Globally, the United States, Spain, and Italy thus far, have the highest number of diagnosed cases and the highest number of deaths.

Background Sexual victimisation is an important problem that affects millions of people around the world, especially those with some kind of disability. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of self‐reported and documented sexual abuse in people with mild or moderate intellectual disability and to analyse the sequelae that such experiences can have on their psychosocial health. Methods The sample consisted of 360 adults (50% men and 50% women) between 18 and 55 years of age (M = 39.87; standard deviation = 10.55). Results The prevalence of sexual abuse is 6.10% when it is self‐reported (9.4% in women and 2.8% in men) and 28.6% when it is reported by professionals (27.8% in women and 29.4% in men). People who self‐report cases of abuse present poorer quality of life, more negative attitudes towards sex and a lower capacity to identify situations that entail a risk of sexual abuse. Individuals who have suffered documented cases of abuse are more likely to present encopresis, social isolation, self‐harm and a higher number of suicide attempts. Conclusions Our results evidence the need to have access to all sources of information so as to be able to obtain prevalence figures that match the real situation and to perform a proper analysis of the sequelae.

Background People with intellectual disability have the same sexual needs as those without any disability, yet their sexuality is often restricted by reluctant attitudes and/or fears based on irrational beliefs. The aim of this study is to describe and analyse different areas of sexuality in adults with mild or moderate intellectual disability. Method The sample consisted of 180 men and 180 women attending occupational centres. All the participants were administered a questionnaire about sexuality adapted to their characteristics. Results Results show that 84.2% have had sexual relationships with another person, this percentage being higher in females and in people aged between 38 and 55 years old. Condoms are used by 41.4%. The most frequently used contraceptive methods are the pill (39.6%), transdermal patch (30.2%) and intrauterine device (6.7%). 9.4% of the women and 2.8% of the men has experienced sexual abuse. Conclusion In conclusion, there is a need to draw up educational programmes, differentiated according to gender and adapted to their reality, which include contents related with sexual health, sexual abuse and condom use.

La adolescencia es una etapa clave para la adquisición de los estilos de vida saludables. Sin embargo, a nivel europeo, se observa cómo los y las adolescentes realizan a diario conductas de riesgo para su salud. Dadas las repercusiones que conllevan, este trabajo explora la realización de conductas de riesgo para la salud (consumo de alcohol, tabaco y otras drogas, mala alimentación, sedentarismo y sexualidad de riesgo) así como el análisis de aquellas variables que podrían facilitarlas (actitudes, creencias y motivaciones) entre adolescentes de la Comunidad Valenciana. Para ello, 300 adolescentes entre 15 y 18 años, cumplimentaron el Cuestionario de Información, Actitudes y Comportamientos relacionados con la Salud-3 en sus centros educativos. Entre los resultados, destaca una mayor prevalencia de conductas de riesgo entre estos adolescentes, en comparación con el promedio europeo; siendo solo superior a la europea la realización de actividad física. No se aprecian diferencias de género en la realización de dichas conductas de riesgo, aunque chicos y chicas sí difieren significativamente en cuanto a las creencias, actitudes y motivaciones que les llevan a hacerlas. Así pues, parece evidente la necesidad de dedicar esfuerzos a la prevención del consumo de sustancias, los malos hábitos alimentarios, el sedentarismo y la conducta sexual de riesgo, teniendo en cuenta las características diferenciales de chicos y chicas, todo ello, con el fin de mejorar su bienestar y calidad de vida a corto y medio plazo. Adolescence is an important stage to achieve healthy lifestyles. However, at European level, adolescents show daily risk behaviors for their health. Due to the associated implications, this study explores risk behaviours for health (alcohol consumption, tobacco and other drugs, harmful eating, sedentary lifestyle and risk sexuality), as well as the analysis of those variables that could facilitate them (attitudes, beliefs and motivations) among adolescents who are from Comunidad Valenciana. For this purpose, 300 adolescents between 15 and 18 years old filled the Questionnaire of Information, Attitudes and Behaviours related to Health-3 in their educational centres. Results show a greater prevalence of risk behaviours among these adolescents compare with the European mean; they only show better results than European mean for physical activity. There are not differences based on gender for doing risk behaviours, although boys and girls differ significantly in beliefs, attitudes and motivations to do them. Therefore, there is a need to focus on prevention of substance consume, harmful eating habits, sedentary lifestyle and risk sexual behaviour, considering particular characteristics of boys and girls. All of this, in order to improve their well-being and quality of life in a short and medium term.

Desde una perspectiva clínica se entiende la preocupación como una tendencia general o un rasgo que cumple un importante papel en los procesos emocionales (Meyer, Miller, Metzger y Borkovec, 1990). El polo no patológico del continuo desempeñaría funciones tales como la previsión de amenazas potenciales y la preparación para su afrontamiento, mientras que su expresión patológica se encontraría en pacientes como los hipocondríacos. Nuestro objetivo es analizar la relación entre este constructo y variables relevantes en la prevención del VIH. From a clinical perspective, concern is understood as a general tendency or a trait that plays an important role in emotional processes (Meyer, Miller, Metzger and Borkovec, 1990). The non-pathological pole of the continuum would fulfil functions such as forecasting potential threats and preparing to cope with them, whereas its pathological expression would be found in patients like hypochondriacs. Our aim is to analyse the relation between this construct and relevant variables in the prevention of HIV.

La literatura científica apunta a que la escasa autoeficacia para el uso del preservativo explicaría muchas conductas de riesgo de transmisión del VIH en jóvenes. Se analiza la autoeficacia de los jóvenes en el uso del preservativo, la existencia de diferencias de género y la relación con variables relevantes en la prevención. Se aplicó la "Subescala de Autoeficacia en el Uso del Preservativo", incluida en el Cuestionario de Prevención del Sida (Ballester, Gil y Giménez, 2007), a 3540 universitarios (50.9% mujeres, 49.1% hombres). Los resultados indican que los jóvenes obtienen puntuaciones medias-altas en autoeficacia, mostrándose la menor puntuación en el autocontrol en el momento de excitación. Se obtienen diferencias estadísticamente significativas en distintas situaciones según el género, siendo las mujeres las que se perciben más autoeficaces que los hombres, sobre todo en situaciones relacionadas con una posible evaluación negativa por parte de la pareja al sugerir su uso; y menos que ellos en aquellas referidas al ámbito público (comprar preservativos). Además, la autoeficacia correlacionó significativamente con la intención de conducta preventiva, la mayor frecuencia autoinformada de uso del preservativo y la percepción de eficacia del preservativo en la prevención del VIH. Las futuras intervenciones preventivas deberían incluir un componente de autoeficacia y una perspectiva de género. The scientific literature suggests that a low self-efficacy for condom use may be related to many risky behaviors for HIV transmission in young people. We analyze the self-efficacy of condom use among youth, the existence of gender differences and the relationship with other relevant variables in HIV prevention. The "Self-Efficacy Condom Use Subscale", included in the AIDS Prevention Questionnaire (Ballester, Gil and Giménez, 2007), was administrated to 3540 university students (50.9% women, 49.1% men). The results showed that the sample obtained medium-high scores on self-efficacy, showing the lowest scores when behavior involves their sexual control at the time of excitation. Statistically significant differences were obtained in different situations according to gender. In this regard, women perceived themselves higher condom use self-efficacy than men, especially when their suggestion about condom use might cause a negative evaluation to the partner; and unless than men those relating to public domain (buying condoms). Moreover, self-efficacy correlated significantly with preventive behavior intention, increased self-reported frequency of condom use and perceived effectiveness of condoms in HIV prevention. Future preventive interventions should include an element of self-efficacy and a differentiated perspective by gender.

Eating habits play a key role in adolescent development. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze whether some eating attitudes and behaviors have changed in the last decade (2001-2011) in two samples of adolescents between 14 and 16 years (N=468) from Valencian Community (Spain). Data was collected through 13 items of CIACS-2 (Ballester and Gil, 2007). Results indicate a higher percentage of self-reported problems related both to the lack as excessive appetite. There was an increase in weight control behaviors, as well as behaviors such as avoiding some fattening foods or exercising to burn calories. There have been few changes in the use of laxatives and attempts to bring up after eating much, however it should be noted the percentages are remained today. With regard to body image, now more adolescents are describing themselves as normal, and less as thin, as compared to 2001. Even so, there has been an increase in the percentage of subjects who have cried because they felt sorry for their figure. The statistical differences found by gender in this period are analyzed. Currently maintaining maladaptive behaviors related to eating behavior in adolescence which should be a priority for early detection and preventive intervention. Los hábitos de alimentación juegan un papel fundamental en el correcto desarrollo del adolescente. Se examina si han cambiado algunas actitudes y comportamientos alimentarios en la última década (2001-2011) en dos muestras de adolescentes entre 14-16 años (N=468) de la Comunidad Valenciana (España), administrando el CIACS-2 (Ballester y Gil, 2007). Los resultados indican mayor porcentaje de problemas autoinformados relacionados con la falta y con el exceso de apetito. Se observa un aumento en el control del peso y en conductas como evitar algunos alimentos que engordan o hacer ejercicio físico para quemar calorías. Aunque no ha habido cambios significativos en el consumo de laxantes y en los intentos de vómitos tras haber comido mucho, los porcentajes que se mantienen resultan preocupantes. En cuanto a la percepción de la propia imagen corporal, más adolescentes se consideran normales y delgados, y menos, gruesos. Aún así, ha habido un aumento en el porcentaje de adolescentes que ha llegado a llorar por sentirse mal con su cuerpo. Se analizan las diferencias estadísticas encontradas en función del género en estos periodos. En la actualidad se mantienen conductas desadaptativas relacionadas con la conducta alimentaria que deben ser objetivo prioritario de detección precoz y de intervención preventiva.

Removing a child from the biological family is the best option in cases of abuse, neglect or mistreatment, but this resource can be a new stressor, because of its possibility to cause imbalances in different areas. The aim of this study is to value how this situation impacts the children. In order to achieve our aim, we have carefully analyzed children’s sociodemographic and psychopathological characteristics, especially anxiety, depression and social stress. The study involved 116 children from Valencia, aged between two weeks and 18 years old received by foster families. Results, structured into three age levels, show that the foster care, although emerges as a temporary and preventive measure with the aim to return to the biological family, becomes as permanent. In addition, the child does not stabilize in a family and many of them are moved to a care-residency. Tutors consider higher levels of pathology in children under 12 years old than parents. However, between 13 and 18, this trend is reversed and the parents are who report higher levels of pathology, for both depression and anxiety. La separación de un menor de su familia biológica es la mejor opción en casos de abuso, negligencia o maltrato pero este recurso puede suponer en sí mismo un nuevo estresor capaz de provocar desajustes en diferentes áreas. El objetivo de este estudio es ver cómo afecta esta situación a los menores para lo cual hemos analizado detalladamente sus características sociodemográficas y psicopatológicas especialmente la ansiedad, depresión y estrés social. En el estudio han participado 116 menores de Valencia de edades comprendidas entre dos semanas y 18 años acogidos por familias educadoras. Los resultados, estructurados en tres niveles de edad, muestran que el acogimiento, aunque surge como una medida preventiva y temporal cuyo fin es el retorno con la familia biológica, se acaba cronificando. Además, el menor no se estabiliza en una familia, sino que se producen ceses y muchos pasan por residencias. Los tutores consideran niveles más altos de patología en los menores de 12 años que los padres. Sin embargo, entre los de 13 a 18, esta tendencia se invierte y son los padres los que reportan niveles más altos de patología, tanto para la depresión como para la ansiedad.

The main role of foster parents is to facilitate the coping process by promoting the resilience of children for which it is essential to have a good ability to establish emotional bonds. Other variables such as experience in raising their own children, the type of family structure or hours of dedication can also be decisive in favoring the development of emotional bonds. The aim of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of families who have a good ability to establish links. Participants were the 95 families and educators who from 2011 have been being in charge of the 116 children aged between 0 and 18 received in Valencia. The results indicate that only 25% of the families scored high on this variable, its performance is highly appreciated by the experts that track (75%), they have a high educational level (over 50% have university education) and their educational profile is for the most assertive. Statistically significant difference between men and women were found. Finally results releave the importance of developing this key skill in educators to facilitate the resilience of foster children. La principal función de los padres de acogida consiste en facilitar el proceso de afrontamiento promoviendo la resiliencia de los niños para lo cual es fundamental poseer una buena capacidad para establecer vínculos afectivos. Otras variables como la experiencia en la crianza de hijos propios, el tipo de estructura familiar o las horas de dedicación pueden ser también decisivas en el favorecimiento del desarrollo de vínculos afectivos. El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en analizar las características de las familias que tienen una buena capacidad para establecer vínculos. Los participantes han sido las 95 familias educadoras que durante 2011 y hasta el momento tienen a su cargo los 116 menores de edades comprendidas entre los 0 y los 18 años acogidos en Valencia. Los resultados indican que solo el 25% de las familias puntúa alto en esta variable, su actuación es valorada muy positivamente por los técnicos que realizan el seguimiento (75%), tienen un elevado nivel educativo (más del 50% son universitarios) y su perfil educativo es mayoritariamente asertivo. Aparecen diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre hombres y mujeres acogedores. Se concluye la importancia de desarrollar en los educadores esta habilidad clave para facilitar la resiliencia de los menores acogidos.

Family environment is one of the most important socialization contexts related to health in childhood. Even though the morbidity and mortality trends among children and their influencing factors are different, the influence of parents is still essential to acquire and maintain healthy habits. In this way, if we consider the increase of unhealthy lifestyles and behaviors, dealing with health in family environment is required. Hence, this research analyzes some healthy behaviors among children ranging from 4 to 8 years old, reported by fathers and mothers. For this purpose, 350 parents fulfilled the Questionnaire of Information, Attitudes and Behaviors of health-1 st version (Ballester & Gil, 1999). Our results reveal a considerable prevalence of unhealthy activities, such as eating behaviors, sleep disorders or problems in mental health (self-esteem) which seems to be worse in older children. Therefore, the need to improve the study of healthy habits among childhood is revealed, but also to promote earliest preventive programs. El entorno familiar es uno de los contextos de socialización más relevantes en el ámbito de la salud durante la primera infancia. Si bien han variado los patrones de morbimortalidad infantil y los factores de influencia, la influencia de los padres continúa siendo fundamental para la adquisición y mantenimiento de hábitos saludables. De esta forma, ante el aumento de los estilos de vida y las conductas poco saludables, resulta necesario profundizar en el análisis de la salud dentro del contexto familiar. Por ello, esta investigación analiza la realización de conductas de salud básicas en población infantil entre 4 y 8 años, a partir de la valoración de los padres. Para ello, 350 responsables familiares cumplimentaron el Cuestionario de Información, Actitudes y Comportamientos relacionados con la Salud-versión 1 (Ballester y Gil, 1999). Los resultados indican una prevalencia considerable de comportamientos poco saludables, como los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, los trastornos del sueño o la salud psicológica (autoestima) que parece empeorar con la edad. Así, se revela la necesidad de profundizar en el estudio de los hábitos de salud de la primera infancia y de promover programas preventivos de atención temprana.

Child violence, which seems to increase lately, is one of the most complex problems along childhood and adolescence and the family environment is essential for their socialization. For this purpose, through the Questionnaire of Information, Attitudes and Behaviors related to health-1 st version (CIACS-1), the existence of violent behaviors which are developed by 350 parents of children (from 4 to 8 years) from Valencia Community is analyzed, as well as some violent behaviors which are carried out by their daughters and sons. In general, the results show the prevalence of certain violent behaviors in some family environments, such as admitting the violence in their family context, defending the physic punishment as educational method or having difficulties to control their emotions in family conflicts. Regarding gender, we notice differences such as boys exceed girls in their predilection for watching violent movies which increases when they become older. Globally, our results support the need of developing early detection programs to prevent violent behaviors in family along childhood, distinguishing age and gender. La violencia infantil que parece incrementarse en las últimas décadas, supone una de las problemáticas más complejas durante la infancia y la adolescencia y el entorno familiar resulta determinante para su socialización. Por este motivo, mediante el Cuestionario de Información, Actitudes y Comportamientos relacionados con la Salud-versión 1, se analiza la presencia de conductas violentas realizadas por 350 padres de niños (entre 4 y 8 años) en la Comunidad Valenciana, así como algunas manifestaciones de violencia de sus hijos. En general, los resultados muestran la prevalencia de ciertas manifestaciones violentas en parte de los entornos familiares, como reconocer que el contexto familiar es violento, defender el castigo físico como un método educativo o tener dificultades para controlar las emociones en situaciones de conflicto. Según el género, se observan diferencias como que los niños superen a las niñas en su predilección por ver películas violentas, conducta que, además, aumenta con la edad. En general, nuestros resultados avalan la necesidad de realizar programas de detección precoz dirigidas a prevenir las conductas violentas en el hogar durante la primera y la segunda infancia, diferenciados por edad y también por género.

The family plays a fundamental role in the transmission and learning of gender roles. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore what messages transmitted from parents to their children at early ages of development. Data was collected through 8 of CIACS-1 (Ballester and Gil, 1999) in a sample of 332 parents of children between 4 and 8 years from Valencian Community (Spain). The results indicate that 27,2% held the belief that children should play right things to their sex, 18,1% distributed household by gender and 13,5% believe that masturbation is bad for health. Moreover, less than half of the sample claimed to have spoken with your child about sexual topics. This percentage increases as the children grow older, taking a significant change around 5-6 years. No statistically significant differences were found by gender, so we can consider that the parents in our sample are not differentiated information if boy or girl. In conclusion, it is important to design prevention programs aimed at parents who contribute to the transformation of the stereotypical conceptions. La familia juega un papel fundamental en la transmisión y aprendizaje de los roles de género. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo es explorar qué mensajes transmiten los padres a sus hijos en edades tempranas del desarrollo. Se analizan 8 ítems del CIACS-1 (Ballester y Gil, 1999) en una muestrade 332 padres ymadres deniños/as entre 4 y 8 años de la Comunidad Valenciana(España). Los resultados indican que un 27,2% mantiene la creencia de que los niños deben jugara cosas adecuadas a su sexo, un 18,1%reparte las tareas domésticas en función del sexo y un 13,5% cree que masturbarse es malo para la salud. Por otra parte, menos de la mitad de la muestra afirma haber hablado alguna vez con su hijo/a sobre temas sexuales. Este porcentaje aumenta a medida que los hijos/as van creciendo, dando un importante cambio en torno a los 5-6 años. No aparecen diferencias estadísticamente significativas en función del sexo del hijo/a, podemos considerar que los padres/madres de nuestra muestra no dan información diferenciada si es chico o chica. Concluyendo, resulta importante diseñar programas de prevención dirigidos a padres/madres que contribuyan a la transformación de las concepciones estereotipadas.

Voluntary use of the Internet for sexual purposes may not have negative consequences necessarily. However, involuntary exposure to sexual images on the Internet is common and may have implications for sexual development. Our objective was to assess the frequency with whom adolescents and youth could find illegal sexual material accidentally, as well as to analyze the differences by age and sex. Participants were 1,309 adolescents and youth from the Comunitat Valenciana (Spain), whose age ranged between 15 and 25 years (Mean = 20.1 , SO = 2.25). We used the Internet Sex Screening Test Delmonico (1997) which was validated in Spain by Ballester, Gil, Gómez & Gil (2010). About 15% of adolescents aged 15 years reported they had sought sexual material on the Internet and the percentage was 33% at 16 years. 27% of adolescents aged 15 years had found illegal sexual material on the network unintentionally. In the male subset, the percentages were 47% at 15 years, 28% at 20 years and 35% at the age of 25. lt is necessary to provide sexual education to our children, so that the negative effects of the involuntary exposure to sexual material may be as minor as possible. Aunque el uso voluntario de internet con fines sexuales no tiene por qué tener consecuencias negativas, la exposición involuntaria a imágenes sexuales en internet es frecuente y puede tener consecuencias para el desarrollo sexual. Nuestro objetivo fue evaluar la frecuencia con que los adolescentes y jóvenes se encuentran ante material sexual ilegal involuntariamente y analizar las posibles diferencias en función de la edad y sexo. Los participantes fueron 1309 adolescentes y jóvenes de la Comunitat Valenciana. La edad se situó entre 15 y 25 años (Media=20.1, 01=2.25). Se utilizó el Internet Sex Screening Test de Delmonico (1997), validado en España por Ballester, Gil, Gómez y Gil (2010). Un 15% de adolescentes de 15 años reconocieron haber buscado material sexual en internet y el porcentaje a los 16 años fue del 33%. Un 27% de adolescentes de 15 años habían tropezado con material sexual ilegal en la red. En la submuestra masculina, los porcentajes llegaron a ser del 47% a los 15 años, del 28% a los 20 años y del 35% a los 25 años. Resulta necesario educar sexualmente a nuestros hijos para que los efectos negativos de la exposición involuntaria a material sexual sean lo menores posibles.

Parental behaviors have shown their influence on the development and wellbeing of their children since early stages. In fact, several epidemiological studies have focused on certain risk behaviors such as unprotected sex, especially among adolescents. Therefore, this study aims to explore the existence of different health behaviors among parents of 350 children under 8 years from Valencia, who were administered the CIACS (Ballester and Gil, 1999). The results show a relevant prevalence of risk behaviors related to the no use of seat-belt, physical inactivity, alcohol or tobacco consumption, oral hygiene or participation in family communication. In this senses, boys and daughters sutter the damage along the most of the ages. Only some statistical differences are revealed in the tobacco consumption by other family members who live together. This situation should be taken into account to design the programs of health education in which parents have to participate. El modelado parental ha mostrado su influencia en el desarrollo y bienestar de los hijos desde fases tempranas. De hecho, muchos estudios epidemiológicos se han centrado en determinadas conductas de riesgo como la sexualidad desprotegida y, sobre todo, en población adolescente. Por ello, este estudio pretende explorar la realización de diversas conductas de salud por parte de 350 padres y madres de menores 8 años de la Comunidad Valenciana, a los que se les administró el CIACS(Ballestery Gil, 1999). Los resultados, arrojan una prevalencia considerable de conductas de riesgo tales como el no uso del cinturón, el sedentarismo, el consumo de alcohol o tabaco, la higiene bucodental o la participación en conversaciones familiares. Perjudicando, de igual modo, tanto a hijos como a hijas, y en la mayoría de las edades analizadas. Solamente aparecen diferencias significativas, según edad, en el consumo de tabaco por parte de otros responsables familiares con los que conviven. Dicha realidad tendrá que ser tenida en cuenta en la elaboración de programas de educación para la salud en los que deberían ser incluidos los responsables familiares.

Gender stereotypes are related to partner violence against women or sexual harassment. The aim of this study was to examine the prevalence and evolution of certain beliefs and attitudes about gender in adolescence. Data was collected through different items of gender roles. Participants were 1142 teenagers (9-14 years-old) from Valencian Community (Spain). R CIACS (Ballester & Gil, 1999) related to perception of esults show that boys and girls think that gender equality has been reached. However, boys believe that men are superior (t=-9.723, p≤.000) and women must do housework (t=-9.564, p≤.000). Some of these beliefs are maintained. Later, boys are still connecting unemployment problem to women’s work (r: -0.026, p≤.569) and believing that men are superior (boys: r: -0.075, p≤.085). Nevertheless, the belief about men have more sexual desire than women increases in both girls (r: 0.199, p≤.004) and boys (r: 0.152, p≤.024). To sum up, although many teens say that equality is achieved, there is a discriminatory attitude on specific behaviors, especially among boys Los estereotipos de género se relacionan con la violencia de pareja o el acoso sexual. El objetivo de este trabajo es explorar la prevalencia y evolución de ciertas creencias y actitudes sobre el género en la adolescencia. Se analizan los ítems relativos a la percepción de los roles de género del CIACS (Ballester y Gil, 1999), que fue administrado a 1142 adolescentes (9-14 años) de la Comunidad Valenciana. Los resultados indican que tanto chicas como chicos piensan que la igualdad se ha alcanzado. Sin embargo los chicos consideran que el hombre es superior (t=-9.723, p≤.000) y asignan a la mujer las tareas domésticas (t=-9.564, p≤.000). Parte de estas creencias se mantiene. Con la edad los chicos siguen relacionando el problema del paro con el trabajo de las mujeres (r:-0.026, p≤.569) y creen que los hombres son superiores a las mujeres (chicos: r: -0.075, p≤.085). No obstante, la creencia de que los hombres tienen más deseo sexual que las mujeres aumenta tanto en chicas (r: 0.199, p≤.004) como en chicos (r: 0.152, p≤.024). La literatura existente se centra en el trabajo sexual ejercido por mujeres en calle, obviando otros espacios y otras personas (Weitzer, 2005; Parker, 2006). Los espacios donde los TMS ejercen su actividad suelen estar organizados, encontrando lugares abiertos (calle) y cerrados (pisos, saunas...), tanto físicos como virtuales (Zaro, Peláez y Chacón, 2008; Meroño y Benjumea, 2000). Aunque la investigación sobre TMS está centrada en la prevención de VIH, diversos estudios han indagado en aspectos sociodemográficos (West y de Villiers, 1993; Ballester y Gil, 1996; Villamil, Jociles y Lores, 2004; Mimiaga, Reisner, Tinsley, Mayer y Safren, 2008; Zaro et al., 2008). La revisión bibliográfica nos muestra que el colectivo de TMS está formado por jóvenes de entre 18 y 30 años, con diferente orientación sexual (mayoritariamente homosexuales), inmigrantes, con pareja estable, sin hijos, con una motivación económica, que perciben esta actividad como temporal, con amplia movilidad y una vivencia de angustia por el estigma que acompaña esta actividad. Los TMS dicen ser mayores de edad pero la juventud es fundamental en este sector del trabajo sexual (Allman, 1999). Los clientes prefieren chicos adolescentes. Muchos TMS falsean su edad para poder ejercer en ciertos espacios. Se analizan los riesgos de exclusión social en el segmento adolescente de este colectivo.
