The article deals with the treatment of terrain and the following forestry reclamation in the Ervěnice area situated near the city Most at the foot hills of Ore Mountains. It considers the impal of using secondary energy products for the reclamation of this previously mined area on ground water, surfac ewater, air and noise. The area had previously been used as sands and gravel waste disposal and in the last years efore there clamation there had been some natural restoration of the biotopes on the brought sands ubstrates; however this was with out any sufficient preparations and with out any clearing of under-layers. The suitability of using available secondary energy products in the area is examined and the conditions for executing the technical part of there clamation are set. Further more, the already executed part of the reclamation is evaluated - this includes the ensuring of drainage of the area by building anessential drainageditch, the treatment of terrain with gradual delivery and subsequent compaction of individuall years and finály the final forestation of the treated part of the area. The annual extraction of aggregates in the Czech Republic is between 45 - 50 mega tones. [5]. Many studies for better results of quarries are undertaken. In this paper is solved the question of optimizing. It is solved the optimizing of cost on coal quarries also. The situation on stone and coal quarries is different. There are requirements for stone production, but the production of coal is in decrement. Comparison and solving both situations seems to be useful. The relationships between different production processes in quarries are very important matter. On the relationships between the manufacturing processes depends the economic effect of operation. Using computational methods and the program provides the optimal arrangement of production cycles to achieve the maximum possible profit of stone and coal quarries. Comparison of methods for optimizing stone quarries and coal mines also explains the different approach in the plant with increasing or decreasing production. The area of the CSA mine is situated at the northern edge in the central part of the Most Basin (North Bohemia, The Czech republic). The interesting area, currently represented by the internal wastedump and the own openpit mine CSA, has undergone significant changes over time that are associated almost with coal mining activities. This activity hit especially hydrological and hydrogeological conditions of the area. The original surface was naturally drained by the several streams, which were necessary translate to artificial flows due to the developing of coal mining. In the interesting area were located a considerable amount of natural reservoirs, the largest was lake Drinov (Komorany). The presented area is divided into several hydrogeological units, which are characterized by mutually diferent major determinants, such as morphology, lithological charakteristice of the main types of rocks, tectonic disorders etc. The submitted paper describes the changes in the hydrological and hydrogeological conditions in the interesting area that occur during the exploitation of brown coal deposit and their impact on the mining operations in the openpit mine CSA. Explosion barriers represent an integral part of the protection in the mining industry both against the transfer and the explosion of methane and coal dust. In 1926, when they were introduced in Germany, their construction underwent a number of modifications and changes. The article lists these changes, as they are reflected in the individual countries' regulations. The comparison may be used to enhance the mutual utilization in the respective countries. The article describes a method of preparing the coal face and mining of a hard coal seam 8.6 meters thick. It explains the main reasons that led to mining the concerned seam in two slices about 4 meters thick. At the same time, it contains an overview of the coal face equipment and technology that was used when the coalface was cleared out after its extraction. Most of the brown coal deposits in the Czech Republic are mined using the methods of surface mining. The last underground mine where brown coal is mined is the Centrum Mine (situated between the town of Most and the town of Litvínov). There, coal was mined using the method of chambering in full seam section or in two slices with caving, later then using the method of four-slice longwall mining with caving. After the application of the above-mentioned mining methods, about 60 - 70 % of unexploited reserves have remained underground. In the contribution, the findings from the current mining of residual reserves in the conditions of Centrum Mine using the longwall top coal caving method, which increases the recovery of coal, are summarised. The worldwide development of the industry and technology is inevitably associated with large-scale mining of non-renewable resources, which relates, inter alia, to the rapid increase in volumes of pollutants and waste with negative environmental effects. This paper tries to evaluate their impact on the landscape, and in a sense, on the quality of life. However, the mere evaluation of damages during the extraction and utilization of mineral resources would be an end in itself. This article analyzes the pyrolysis processing (600, 700 and 800 °C) of worn tires from passenger cars and subsequent use of the solid product as a sorbent for the removal of organic compounds, namely toluene, benzene, xylene and naphthalene from phenolammonia water produced during the coking of coal. The aim was to verify the possibility of the utilization of the sorbent without any other modifications that would improve the efficiency of sorption, but would also increase the cost of the treatment process. Averaging the resulting values showed that there is approximately 33 % of the solid residue, 46 % of the liquid phase and 7 % of the pyrolysis gas. The influence of pH on the efficiency of sorption occurred only in benzene. At pH 10.2, which was the value of an untreated sample of phenol-ammonia water, the efficiency of adsorption was approximately 40 %. When lowering pH to 7.7, the efficiency of sorption increased to almost 60 %. For toluene, xylene and naphthalene, a change in pH had only negligible influence on the efficiency of sorption. Also, an increase in temperature had a positive effect only on the efficiency of sorption of benzene. At 50 °C, the efficiency of around 96% is reached as early as after 30 minutes, half the time for which the sorbent achieved the same efficiency at a temperature of 20 °C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In mine gases it is mainly methane that is the only one dangerous component within the OKR. Its general effect on the environment during ascending to the surface and on the public safety is very specific. In the Ostrava-Karvina district, the mine gases in coal seams and accompanying minerals remained preserved in a certain volume. Methane is the main component of the mine gases. With regard to the transfer of methane during the historical geological period it is possible to make only a rough estimation of the primary content of methane in the coal seams of the particular coal basin. The estimation can be carried out only indicatively as a model using results of a laboratory high-pressure sorption of methane in the coal of the particular and humidity level. Technical monuments are important parts of the Ostrava Region as such premises represent a high percentage of the city sights. The technical monuments are remnants of the original industrial premises used in mining or metallurgy, e.g. Lower Vítkovice Complex, Mining Museum in Landek with its Anselm Mine, Michal Mine and its museum, and many coal mining dumps. The article describes selected technical monuments in the City of Ostrava and focuses on their relevance to geoscience and industrial tourism. The present paper gives a comprehensive overview of the hydrotechnical measures implemented on the bottom of the depleted openpit mine Obranci miru. Inner wastedump of Obranci miru is located in the central part of the Most basin and fills the space of the former openpit mine. Due to the technical, mining, hydrogeological and geomechanical conditions was built a system of hydroteochnical measures at the bottom of the depleted mine, to ensure a secure, future, surface working of the CSA mine to the Obranci miru mine. Dustiness is one of the serious problems we encountered in civilian life, but especially in manufacturing activity. To reduce dustiness in the workplace, a range of technical equipment and a number of organizational measures are applied. To assess the options to reduce dust, I focused on one important aspect, namely the spray functions. I demonstrated that current methods of disposal of dust by spraying do not meet the requirements of the consistency of the dust grainsize and water drops. According to the analysis of the dust fragmentation of sizes of water drops produced by nozzles, I suggest a qualitatively new solution for effective spraying. An important and most frequently used means of disposal of dust is spraying with water. Recently, it has been found that for its efficient operation, there must be a certain relation between the size of the dust grains and water drops. The article presents examples showing that at the current standard of water jetnozzle design, this requirement is not met. The growth of the liquidation of underground space is nowadays a very topical issue due to the issue of the use and securing of these old mines, both in terms of compliance with legislation and the needs of the whole society. The Mining Law Old defines an old mine as an underground mine which is abandoned and the original operator or his successor in title does not exist or is not known. Alternatively, in accordance with legislation in force, since 2002, an old mine is also an abandoned quarry where exclusive minerals were extracted, whose original operator or its successor in title does not exist or is not known. For example, only in the Ostrava-Karvina district, there are currently 359 old mines. Most of the secured old mines is addressed within methane control measures. Monitoring and maintenance is realized at a number of secured mine workings. The use of old mines in the Czech Republic is not fully developed compared to other countries. Ensuring the contact of the arch excavation support with rock mass is a very important element in the excavation of mine workings. When implementing mine opening in order to disclose Ostrava seams at the Mining Plant 1, volumetric bags filled with quick-setting mixture were used to fill empty spaces behind the TH (Thusaint and Heitzmann) excavation support in the area of upper arches. This solution helps to achieve uniform load distribution of the massif on the flexible steel excavation support in the vertical direction. The technology was chosen with respect to the increased demands on the life of the mine. The first part of the paper describes the technology of excavation at the mine workings no. 5053, the second part focuses attention on practical experience using quick-setting concrete mixture. At present, when high demands are put on the economy of ecavation of workings itself, it is important to combine the technology of excavation to achieve the highest possible efficiency. At present there are several possibilities of uranium mining -- open-cut mining, underground mining and chemical mining. The article deals with the ways of obtaining uranium from unconventional sources such as mine water, water from tailing ponds after processing uranium ore, sea water, fly ash from coal combustion etc. The paper also lists technologies of recovering uranium both from mine water of flooded uranium mines and the uranium deposits closed during the process of redevelopment in the Czech Republic In the Czech Republic uranium is currently extracted from mine water as a by-product of purification in Rožná and also in Stráž pod Ralskem. From 1945 until the mid 90's uranium mining industry was a very important industrial sector in the Czech Republic, with the country becoming the world leader in production of uranium concentrate. Mining industry decrement and restructuring, unprofitability of some mineral resources caused closure or limit production operations at many locations in the Czech Republic. Old mining work is understood by the Mining Law underground mine works which is abandoned and the original operator or his successor in title does not exist or is not known. Or even by force adjustment since 2002, is an old mine works also abandoned quarry for reserved mineral extraction, the original operator or his successor in title does not exist or is not known. For example, only in the Ostrava-Karvina district is currently the 359 old mines. Most organized mines is solved within against methane measures. At least secured mines is implemented monitoring and maintenance. So far in our country shows limited interest in the use of previously or currently concluded mining objects. The paper presents evaluation of the impact of shale gas mining on the consumption of coal. In some countries, notably the U.S. A., shale gas mining has been developed to such a level that gas is considered to be a significant energy source. Shale gas has also replaced coal consumption, so there has been a surplus of coal in world markets. This was also reflected in the Czech Republic and other countries, and it will probably result in closing some underground mines. Uranium mining represents a significant share of mining activities. The mining methods vary depending on the conditions of the ore deposit. In the world, the predominant method of mining is leaching. The conditions in the Czech Republic are not very suitable for this method. The paper describes a method of underground mining applied at the last uranium mine in Central Europe, Dolní Rožínka. Subsequently, the article deals with the extraction of uranium ore at the McArtur River mine in Canada. The paper also deals with processing of uranium ore after extraction. The article deals with the possibility of using bacteria Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans in extracting uranium from uranium ores from Rožná deposit in the Czech Republic. It presents a comparison between a purely chemical method of acidic leaching in sulphuric acid solution, and a biochemical method using the bacteria. The aim was to demonstrate the effect of bacteria on the leaching efficiency. Leaching was carried out under stationary conditions at the laboratory temperature of 25 °C. The results showed little difference in the efficiency of bacterial leaching compared with chemical leaching under these conditions, which are not optimal for bacterial growth. The paper focuses on the issues of subsidence formation as a function of the character of the rock massif and the extent of mining activities. The study was evoked by practical needs and as an attempt to deploy a simple method of observation by regular levelling of surface benchmarks. Classification of the actual surface damage is based on the difference between the measured values of surface subsidence and theoretical computations. The main method of observing surface changes were land survey techniques. The outcomes of this study of the development of a subsidence trough can be used in the planning of mining activities.
