Objective: This study examines the extent to which graduate students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz have personal knowledge management skills based on the model of Cheung and Tsui (2010) to provide solutions to improve and enhance their skills.Methodology: This research is of descriptive and analytical type and its survey method. Pabakhsh questionnaire (2016) was used. The research population is the master and doctoral students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz who started their studies in the academic year 2017-2018. The sample size was 351 according to Krejcie and Morgan table. Descriptive and inferential statistical tests were performed to analyze the data using the SPSS statistical software.Findings: Data analysis showed that the situation of graduate students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in terms of personal knowledge management skills is equal to an average of 3.50, which has been evaluated at a relatively desirable level according to the Likert scale. In other words, in "interpersonal knowledge transfer", "personal wisdom creation", "personal knowledge internalization" and "personal information management" are at a relatively desirable level. In addition, among the studied skills, graduate students had the most information in presentation skills and the least information retrieval and analysis.Conclusion: Considering that the level of students' personal knowledge management skills was determined at a relatively desirable level, it is necessary to teach them the skills. Empowering them with such skills helps them make decisions, solve problems, increase efficiency, and achieve personal goals.

Abstract Purpose: This research investigates the structure of Library and Information science based on indicators of authorship, co-authorship, and scientific influence model. Methodology: As practical research, based on scientometric and social networks analysis, the records have been retrieved from WOS by the selection of 35 journals from 1970 to 2016. The Citespace, visualization analysis tool, was used to accomplish co-authorship, UCINET for centrality metrics, and Bibexcel for the H-index family. Findings: An exact study of the number of authors in each article indicates that the dominant authorship pattern of Iran Knowledge and Information science is a two-author pattern. In this regard, the three-author approach is in second place with a frequency of 25%. The results of the study also showed the Jamali, with 25 articles and Kousha with 481 citations, respectively, have been awarded the title of the most productive and most cited authors among the authors of Iran Knowledge and Information science. The medal of the largest share of the cooperation among institutes and universities was awarded to Islamic Azad University. Other results of co-authorship analysis of Iran Knowledge and Information Science showed that the collaboration of Jamali and Nicholas in the field of information-seeking behavior on the one hand, and Kousha and Thelwall collaboration in the field of science measurement studies (especially webometrics) on the other hand, are new trends. On the other hand, considering the bursting of the occurrence of the Jamali and Nicholas in the co-authorship network of Iran Knowledge and Information Science, these two authors should be regarded as a kind of creators of an emerging trend in Iran Knowledge and Information Science. Finally, the findings showed that almost half of the articles in the Iran Knowledge and Information Science (46.3%) had been prepared with the collaboration of authors from other countries. Iranian researchers have collaborated mostly with Asian countries. They have collaborated mostly with Malaysian researchers and, the second place with 14 frequencies is allocated to Australian researchers. Conclusion: The existence of a significant relationship between the two indicators of productivity and effect showed that the authors of Iran Knowledge and Information Science, while paying attention to the increase in the number of articles and their level of productivity, have also noted the quality of the articles. The results showed that merely receiving more citations, or increasing the level of scientific participation of a researcher, is not a sufficient condition for macro-scientific decision-making and policy-making, and the use of qualitative indicators and methods to validate the results of scientometric research in this regard seems necessary. Other results also showed that the increasing interest of Iranian researchers in collaborating with other authors in the production of joint scientific articles, has played a significant role in increasing visibility and receiving more citations over time.

Objectives: This research aims to identify and analyze the relationship between the field of knowledge and information science with the problems of Kermanshah province from the professors' and graduates' viewpoints of this field.Methods: The research approach is qualitative. Data analysis is done with the qualitative content analysis method. The studied samples were selected by purposive sampling method. Finally, 20 professors and graduates of the knowledge and information science field were interviewed.Results: The responses were categorized into three axes. The first axis was the knowledge and information science field and its dimensions, in which the interviewees' definitions of information were more in line with the traditional, engineering, and mathematical views and system-oriented approaches to information. information issues also were introduced mostly around books and libraries. The interviewees' opinions in the second axis, regarding Kermanshah province and its issues, were to have agricultural and tourism capacity for Kermanshah province which not using these capacities was introduced as one of the important issues of the province. The relationship between the knowledge and information science field and Kermanshah province and its issues were discussed in the third axis. Professors and experts emphasized on lack of applying of specialists' opinions of knowledge and information science field to solve the problems of the province.Results: The knowledge and information science field should be reviewed systematically and methodically in all aspects of identity, education, research, entrepreneurship, and foresight, considering the three important elements of depth, comprehensiveness, and modernity.In the development planning for the province, each area presents plans and programs in different formats, but in this planning, the information aspect has been neglected; and the professors and graduates of the knowledge and information science field do not have a plan and strategy in mind in a codified and coherent way.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of personal information management (PIM) of graduate students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahwaz from three aspects of knowledge, attitude and seven activities of personal information management (including retrieval, storage, organization, maintenance, information flow management, measuring and evaluation, and sense making) based on Jones's model. Research has been a survey of descriptive-analytic type. Methodology: This study was a descriptive-analytic survey and Amuzandeh’s modified questionnaire (2011) was used for data gathering. The research population consisted of 4422 graduate students of Shahid Chamran Univerity of Ahvaz that 354 of them were selected based on Krejcie-Morgan sample size table. Of the 354 distributed questionnaires 304 were filled and returned (85.87% response rate). For data analysis, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) as well as inferential statistics (t-test and variance analysis) were used to determine the significance of differences. Results: The descriptive findings of the research showed that the means of knowledge, attitude and total of seven PIM activities of students were 3.20, 3.97 and 2.86 respectively, and the total mean of their PIM activities was 3.2 and at moderate level. . In this research, the effect of four variables of gender, age, faculty and educational level on the students’ PIM activities was examined and it was found that there was a significant difference between the students’ PIM activities among the different faculties with the significance level of 0.04 while there were no difference regarding gender, educational level, and age group.

Purpose: we aimed at the identification of the current social status of Knowledge and Information Science discipline from librarians’ viewpoint in Ahvaz city of Iran. We then analyzed that which of the main factors has the principal effect on the status. Methodology: This research is an applied survey in which the data were collected by a researcher-made questionnaire. Validity of the questionnaire has confirmed by related KIS professionals and reliability of it have been appraised by confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach’s alpha with coefficient 0/95. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics (Binominal, Mann-Whitney, and Kruscal-Wallis tests). Findings: Findings showed that 6 factors have effective role in the social status of Knowledge and Information Science (KIS): 1- personal characteristics of professionals; 2- specialism; 3- occupational economy; 4- professional standards; 5- skill learning practice and 6- social need to the profession. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that two of them have meaningful effect: specialism and social need to the profession. Also, there were significant differences among viewpoints in terms of respondent’s educational degree, professional background, type of the library, and occupational position. However, viewpoints have not been significantly different in terms of type of employment and field of activity. Originality/Value: It seems the research to be worthwhile because of its endeavor to show main factors engaging in social status of KIS discipline. Also, we suggested that there is an urgent need to be care of two important factors: specialism and social need to the discipline.

مقدمه: یکی از روش‌های مهم کمی در علوم کتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی علم‌سنجی است‏، که در چهار دهه اخیر در سنجش و ارزيابي بروندادهاي علمي شاهد پیشرفت‌های زیادی بوده است. در این پژوهش سعي شده است با استفاده از اين روش به ترسیم نقشه تاريخ نگاري مقالات حوزه‌ی جراحی، نمایه شده در نمایه استنادی علوم در بازه‌ی زمانی 2000 تا 2010 میلادی پرداخته شود. روش بررسی: این پژوهش از نوع تحــلیلی بوده و با استفاده از فنون علم‌سنجی انجام می شود. جامعه مورد بررسی شامل 83426 رکورد بود که بر مبنای داده‌های کتابشناختی استخراج شده از پایگاه Web of Science گردآوري شدند. داده‌ها شامل تمام انواع مدارک منتشر شده در حوزه‌ی جراحی طی سال‌های 2000 تا 2010 میلادی بود. مجموعه رکوردها توسط نرم‌افزار HistCite جهت رسم نقشه‌ي علم‌نگاري و تعیین نويسندگان و مقالات دارای بیشترین ميزان تأثيرگذاري مورد استفاده واقع شد. یافته‌ها: کشور امریکا با 41/29 درصد از تولیدات علمی حوزه‌ی جراحی در بازه‌ی زمانی 2000 تا 2010 میلادی دارای رتبه‌ی نخست در تألیف مقالات اين حوزه‌ی بود، همچنین کشور ایران در حوزه‌ی جراحی با 34/0 درصد تولید علمی در بین کشورهای جهان رتبه 33 و در بین کشورهای خاورمیانه دارای رتبه‌ی سوم (در بازه‌ی زمانی 2000 تا 2010) بوده است. از بین گرایش‌های مهم جراحی، در حدود 85/34 درصد از مقالات منتشر شده، به گرایش جراحی عمومی و 68/14 درصد از مقالات به گرایش CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM CARDIOLOGY اختصاص یافته بود. نتیجه‌گیری: قابل ذکر است که افزایش و بهبود انتشارات حوزه‌ی جراحی در دانشگاه‌ها و مراکز پژوهشی ایران، سیاست‌های صحیح و کنترل‌های دقیق از طرف وزارت بهداشت را می‌طلبد، همچنین دانشمندان حوزه‌ی جراحی کشورمان، بایستی توجه بیشتری به گرایش و زمینه‌ي نوظهور لاپاروسکوپی داشته باشند. واژه‌های کلیدی: علم‌سنجی؛ جراحی؛ پایگاه‌های اطلاعاتی

Purpose: This study aims to examine the attitudes of librarians and library staff of Public Libraries in Kerman towards privatization. Methodology: This is a descriptive survey. A pre-formulated questionnaire for data collection from a master thesis (Khorshid, 1377) was used. The questionnaire collects the viewpoints of librarians in relation to 6 different areas namely, individual, economic, equitable advancement opportunities, job security, government regulations and measures of devotion. Reliability coefficients were obtained for 0. 934. The study population consists of all librarians and library workers of public libraries in the year 1390 in the city of Kerman. Findings: The results reveal that librarians have neither awareness of, nor interest in privatization personally. However, from an economic perspective, they agree with the economic benefits of privatization for the purpose of the development of organizations and for the country in general. They disagree with privatization feeling that it does not provide opportunities for everyone to progress and do not also believe that privatization will necessarily help their job security. However, librarians voted for the alteration of government rules and regulations designed to accelerate the privatization process. Finally, as a measure of their devotion librarians showed their willingness to overlook their own ideas for the sake of the organizational progress. Originality/Value: This is a unique research project which was conducted to assess, for the first time, the attitudes of librarians towards privatization.

One of the most important quantitative methods and research domains in library and information sciences is scientometrics and informatics, which has markedly developed over the last four decades. The Study in each one of the categories of this domain, need to more research and literatures review. Scientometrics applied in description, explanation and prediction of scientific situation of researchers, education and research groups, universities, organizations and countries in various national and international fields. Against the great success which has gained in this field, a lot of challenging obstacles and difficulties has been facing for researchers in mentioned fields. These challenges could be evaluated with different approaches. In this paper the positive and negative aspects of scientometrics studies have been analyzed using libraries method by a comprehensive and critical approach. The major obstacles have presented in four categories as follows: 1. Limitation in Philosophical, epistemological and theoretical foundations; 2. Methodological obstacles and specific difficulties of citations and citation analysis; 3. Terminological chaos; 4.
