Background: Acquiring a thorough understanding of the expenses linked to the education of health sciences students is crucial for effective university planning, budgeting, and overall preparedness. This systematic review aimed to identify and compare the per capita costs associated with educating medical and other health science students internationally-particularly emphasizing the context of Iran., Methods: A systematic review was conducted in 2023 according to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. The search covered the period from January 1, 2000, to November 11, 2022, using MeSH and EMTREE terms. Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, and Iranian databases were searched. Manual searches were performed using Google and Google Scholar., Results: The study retrieved 1336 publications from bibliometric databases and, following thorough screening, included 8 relevant articles from 5 countries (Australia, Iran, United States, Thailand, and Vietnam). An additional 17 relevant articles from Iranian databases were also included. Based on USD purchasing power parity (PPP) 2019, the results show that the mean per capita cost of training a medical student for 1 academic year in Iran is $61,493.86 (range, $28,102-$133,603; standard deviation, $35,476.03). In comparison, the cost of training a medical student for 1 year is $263,305 in the United States and $44,674 in Australia. In Thailand and Vietnam, a 6-year medical program costs is $284,058 and $69,323, respectively. Moreover, according to most studies, training students in other health sciences in Iran for 1 academic year generally costs ˂$20,000 (PPP 2019)., Conclusion: The study reveals that the costs associated with medical student education in Iran exceed that of most countries, second only to the United States. Background: Achieving financial goals is one of the health systems goals, especially for those in low- and middle-income countries. Since financing equity, is an objective of Health Transformation Plan (HTP) implementation in Iran, this study examined this plan toward improving equity in healthcare Financing, using four payment indices: Out-of-Pocket Payment (OOP), Catastrophic Health Expenditure (CHE), Fair financial Contribution Index (FFCI) and Impoverishing Health Expenditure (IHE)., Methods: Articles published in English on equity in financing related to HTP were searched and retrieved in the Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, and Embase databases between Jan 2014 and Dec 2020, following PRISMA guidelines. Overall, 1319 papers were retrieved initially, and 31 were selected for analysis., Results: After implementation of HTP, OOP index has decreased between patients and households. No consistent trend was evident for CHE. HTP reforms have a limited effect on the FFCI. The one study on IHE has shown an upward trend for this index. In general, in the early years of HTP, there was a higher downward trend in equity in financing indicators than in subsequent years., Conclusion: HTP has made significant accomplishments in equity, such as the financial protection of patients in healthcare centers, but fail to achieve this plan goals, significantly reduced its value. Therefore, it is necessary for managers and health policy makers around the world, with scientific and principled solutions, to prevent loss of their reform plans positive achievements., (Copyright© 2023 Bordbar et al. Objective: Health insurance is based on people's significant risks in receiving health services that they cannot afford alone. Since the outbreak of the corona epidemic, the health insurance system has suffered many economic problems. Designing a model of a health insurance system based on the requirements of a resilient economy can improve the functions of this system in the corona crisis., Results: In this research 12, structural components were obtained in the form of 4 conceptual components. The 4 main conceptual components are Knowledge-based economy, Economic stability, Economic resilience, and justice. The knowledge-based economy is the basis for the formation of economic resilience in the health insurance systems. Health insurance systems will achieve two crucial intermediate results, namely economic resilience, and economic stability, by building the basic infrastructure of a knowledge-based economy. Background: This study aimed to calculate the child labor rate and establish the factors affecting this phenomenon in the less developed provinces of Iran., Methods: This study has used the secondary data of population and housing census gathered by Iranian Statistical Center in 2011. The data belonged to 14859 children between 10 and 14 of 9 less developed provinces of Iran. A multiple regression model was hypothesized drawing on related literature and accordingly using data; the logistic regression was estimated. Data cleaning process was also conducted prior to the analysis., Results: The child labor force participation rate for all children between 10 and 14 years old was 1.7%, of which boys' child labor rate was higher than girls' (2.4% over 1%). As such, the mothers' fertility rate and education were of the strongest, yet converse, effect on child labor supply in the country., Conclusion: A little proportion of children in less developed regions of Iran was suffering from child labor. However, given the diminishing and rising effects of, respectively, variables such as mothers' literacy and working on the child labor; the authorities could restrict child labor attending more to such a group. The factors identified could also be of a high value for the policy-makers at both national and international level such as the Health and Welfare ministries, EMRO, ILO and UNICEF.

Background: Skilled labor force is very important in economic growth. Workers become skilled when they are healthy and able to be educated and work. In this study, we estimated the effects of health indicators on labor supply. We used labor force participation rate as the indicator of labor supply. We categorized this indicator into 2 indicators of female and male labor force participation rates and compared the results of each estimate with the other., Methods: This study was done in eastern Mediterranean countries between 1995 and 2011. We used a panel cointegration approach for estimating the models. We used Pesaran cross sectional dependency, Pesaran unit root test, and Westerlund panel cointegration for this issue. At the end, after confirmation of having random effect models, we estimated them with random effects., Results: Increasing the fertility rate decreased the female labor supply, but increased the male labor supply. However, public health expenditures increased the female labor supply, but decreased the male labor supply because of substitution effects. Similar results were found regarding urbanization. Gross domestic product had a positive relationship with female labor supply, but not with male labor supply. Besides, out of pocket health expenditures had a negative relationship with male labor supply, but no significant relationships with female labor supply., Conclusion: The effects of the health variables were more severe in the female labor supply model compared to the male model. Countries must pay attention to women's health more and more to change the labor supply.
