One of the praxeological problems of safe and sustainable air transport (airfreight transport/air cargo, and air passenger transport) is the prevention and management of risks by competent staff, with the support of modern information and communication technologies. This paper presents an educational information model and software for the airport network and information systems risk assessment, primarily intended for aviation education and training of professionals for ensuring safe and sustainable air transport. The solution to the problem is based on the application of the fuzzy logic method in the air transport environment. Based on a fuzzy expert model, the selected scenario, and the input data established separately for airport assets by a group of 23 experts from aviation practice and a university, the following three assessments of airport network information system assets were constructed: Asset A2 (meteorological information systems) has an insignificant risk with an estimated 0.1162, and assets A1 (air traffic control and management (ATM), navigational aids and approach) and A3 (runway monitoring system) received a low risk of airport network and information systems (NIS) security with ratings of 0.2623 and 0.2915, respectively. An airport NIS risk assessment was aggregated (0.2288), indicating a low degree of security risk to the airport's network and information systems. The aggregated risk assessment of airport NIS, including financial loss data, was calculated as 0.1438, representing a low degree of security risk to the airport's network and information systems. Scenarios for evaluating airport assets are changing for students during education. The response of understory species to elevated temperatures is not well understood but is important because these plants are highly sensitive to their growth conditions. Three-year-old plants of Panax quinquefolius, an understory herb endemic to the eastern deciduous forests of North America, were grown in a greenhouse at 25/20°C (day/night) or 30/25°C for one growing season and analyzed each month. Plants grown at high temperatures had an early onset of leaf senescence and therefore accumulated less carbon. From May to July, P. quinquefolius grown at high temperatures had decreased photosynthesis (52%), stomatal conductance (60%), and root and total biomass (33% and 28%, respectively) compared to plants grown at low temperatures. As P. quinquefolius prepared to overwinter, plants grown at high temperatures had less root biomass (53%) than plants in low temperatures. The amount of storage-root ginsenosides was unaffected by temperature, and differences in storage root size may explain why plants grown at high temperatures had greater concentrations of storage root ginsenosides (49%) than plants grown at low temperatures. Panax quinquefolius is clearly sensitive to a 5°C increase in temperature, and therefore other understory species may be negatively impacted by future increases in global temperature.

Šiame tyrime analizuojami motinų įsitikinimai apie įsitraukimą į raštingumą ugdančias veiklas ir vaikų raštingumo įgūdžius. Metodika. Motinos (n = 75) atsakė į klausimus apie saviveiksmingumą, atribucijas ir motyvaciją įsitraukti į raštingumą ugdančias veiklas, tokių veiklų dažnumą, pobūdį ir pasekmes ikimokyklinukų raštingumo įgūdžiams. Pasitelkiant koreliacinę analizę ir struktūrinį lygčių modeliavimą, tyrime tikrinama K. V. Hoover-Dempsey ir H. M. Sandlerio 1995 m. pasiūlyto teorinio modelio adaptacija, analizuojamos tiesioginės ir netiesioginės sąveikos. Rezultatai. Tyrimo rezultatai parodė, kad motinos saviveiksmingumas, skaitymo malonumo motyvacija ir atribucijos buvo susiję su raštingumą ugdančių veiklų dažnumu ir kokybe namuose. Skaitymas padedant ir dažni rašymo užsiėmimai darė didžiausią tiesioginę įtaką vaikų raštingumui, tačiau mamos saviveiksmingumas turėjo netiesioginės įtakos per skaitymo ir rašymo veiklas. Knygų skaitymas, kuriam buvo būdinga didesnė interaktyvi sąveika, labiau prognozavo raštingumo įgūdžius nei paprasto knygų skaitymo namuose dažnumas. Išvados. Šio tyrimo rezultatai reikšmingi tėvams ir ugdymo specialistams, dirbantiems su tėvais ir vaikais. Parents play a crucial role in early literacy development, by initiating and supporting literacy-rich activities with children. Purpose. This study examined mothers’ beliefs in relation to involvement in literacy activities and child literacy skills. Material and methods. Mothers (n = 75) completed surveys measuring their efficacy, attributions, motivation for involvement, frequency and interactive nature of literacy activities, and preschoolers’ literacy outcomes. An adaptation of Hoover- Dempsey and Sandler’s 1995 theoretical model was tested using correlations and structural equation modeling to examine direct and indirect effects. Results. Results showed that mothers’ efficacy, motivation to read for pleasure, and self-attributions were related to the frequency and quality of home literacy interactions. In addition, facilitative reading and frequent writing activities had the strongest direct effects on children’s literacy, while efficacy had an indirect effect through reading and writing activities. The interactive nature of book reading was more predictive than the simple frequency of reading books in home settings. Conclusions. This study has implications for parents and educators who work with parents and children.

Large quantities of radionuclides were released in March-April 2011 during the accident of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant to the atmosphere and the ocean. Atmospheric and marine modeling has been carried out to predict the dispersion of radionuclides worldwide, to compare the predicted and measured radionuclide concentrations, and to assess the impact of the accident on the environment. Atmospheric Lagrangian dispersion modeling was used to simulate the dispersion of (137)Cs over America and Europe. Global ocean circulation model was applied to predict the dispersion of (137)Cs in the Pacific Ocean. The measured and simulated (137)Cs concentrations in atmospheric aerosols and in seawater are compared with global fallout and the Chernobyl accident, which represent the main sources of the pre-Fukushima radionuclide background in the environment. The radionuclide concentrations in the atmosphere have been negligible when compared with the Chernobyl levels. The maximum (137)Cs concentration in surface waters of the open Pacific Ocean will be around 20 Bq/m(3). The plume will reach the US coast 4-5 y after the accident, however, the levels will be below 3 Bq/m(3). All the North Pacific Ocean will be labeled with Fukushima (137)Cs 10 y after the accident with concentration bellow 1 Bq/m(3).
