Bu çalışmada Üniversite Yerleşkesinin Şekillendirilmesinde karar mekanizmalarının belirlenmesine AHP yöntemi ile ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu karar mekanizmalarında Mütevelli Heyet Başkanlığı’ndan, Rektörlük’ten, Genel Sekreterlik’ten ve Öğrenci Temsilciliği’nden kişiler bulunmaktadır. Bu karar mekanizmalarına ait karar vericilerden “Mütevelli Heyet Başkanlığı, Rektörlük, Genel Sekreterlik ve Öğrenci Temsilciliği”, alınan kararlardaki etkilerine ait göreceli olarak etkinlik değeri verilmesi istenmiştir. Daha sonra yine karar vericilerden üniversitenin özniteliklerinin göreceli olarak önem sıralaması için değer verilmesi istenmiştir. Öznitelikler olarak Eğitim-Öğretim, Araştırma, Yaşam Alanı ve Destek Hizmetleri başlıkları altında toplanmıştır. Daha sonra bu öznitelikleri Maliyet, Aciliyet ve Süre ölçütlerine göre önemlilik esaslı olarak değerlendirmeleri istenmiştir. In this study, AHP is used in two subsequent stages to establish the decision making process for the prioritization of constructions in the Campus. The decision process consists of actors representing Board of Trustees, Rectors Office, Office of the General Secretary and Student Representatives. In the first stage, all actors are required to assess the degree of influence of each and every actor, namely, Board of Trustees, Rectors Office, Office of the General Secretary and Student Representatives, on the final decision based on importance. Then, actors taking part in decision making process, are required to assess the level of importance of the attributes, namely, Education, Research, Campus Life and Support Services, on the final decision based on importance. To conclude the first stage, the actors are required to assess the level of importance of three criteria, namely, Cost, Urgency and Duration, from the perspectives of each and every attribute. The data collected is processed using AHP to obtain the weights of each actor, each, attribute, and each criteria in the decision making process. In the second stage of the study, the actors are required to assign priorities to some alternatives based on the level of importance. The alternatives presented cover the entire range of attributes and criteria. The findings of both stages are compared in order to evaluate the consistency of the actors in the decision making process.

The heated surface jet discharged into a bay which is connected to a larger body of water through a strait may experience bifurcation in the bay and stratification in the strait. The combined effects of bifurcation and stratification may lead to a substantially greater rise in temperature than the rise expected in case of unrestricted receiving body of water. In this study, the behavior of heated effluents discharged into bays with a restricted access to a large body of water is scrutinized experimentally by the help of a scaled physical model.Dimensional analysis leads to a new dimensionless parameter Ar, area restriction parameter, on which the difference between the excess temperatures at the inlet of the strait for restricted and free receiving mediums, Δ(ΔT/ΔT0) is shown to be strongly dependent.

Bu çalışmada sığ temellerde taşıma gücünün saptanmasında yaygın kullanımı olan Terzaghi zemin taşıma gücü bağıntısının geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, sığ temellerin taşıma gücünün belirlenmesinde kullanılan çeşitli taşıma gücü bağıntıları ve değişkenleri için geniş örneklemeler yapılarak, Terzaghi zemin taşıma gücü bağıntısına dayanan yeni bir bağıntı türetilmiştir. Yedi bölümden oluşan tez çalışmasının birinci bölümünde literatür özeti sunularak, tezin amacı ve hipotezi açıklanmıştır.İkinci bölümde analitik zemin taşıma gücünün saptanmasında kullanılan zemin dayanım parametreleri belirlenerek, üçüncü bölümde literatürde yaygın kullanılan çeşitli taşıma gücü bağıntıları tanıtılmış ve dördüncü bölümde ise analitik zemin taşıma gücünü etkileyecek faktörler açıklanmıştır.Tezin beşinci bölümünde kalıp olarak Terzaghi tarafından önerilen bağıntı muhafaza edilmiş ancak sentetik olarak karakteristikleri belirlenen zemin örnekleri gözönünde bulundurularak Terzaghi kalıbında yer alan katsayılar doğrusal olmayan regresyon analiz yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiş ve bu değerlendirme sonucunda Terzaghinin bağıntısını temel teşkil eden yeni katsayılara sahip bir bağıntı önerilmiştir. Altıncı bölümde önerilen bağıntının diğer analitik taşıma gücü bağıntıları ve deneysel taşıma gücü değerleri ile karşılaştırılmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Son bölümde ise bu çalışma kapsamında ulaşılan sonuçlar vurgulanmıştır. The aim of this study is the improvement of Terzaghi bearing capacity formula which is very common method to determine the bearing capacity in shallow foundations. For this purpose, many sampling has been done in very wide range for several formulas and variances that use to determine the bearing capacity in shallow foundations and a new formula is derived based on the Terzaghi bearing capacity formula with modification cofficionts.The summary of the literatures, the aim of the thesis and hypothesis are explained in the first chapter of the thesis.The strength parameters of soils are defined in second chapter used for the determination of analytical bearing capacity. Various bearing capacity formulas are given in third chapter that use very common in literature. Following, the factors that affect the analytical bearing capacity are specified in fourth chapter.In the fifth chapter of the thesis, the main formula that is recommended by Terzaghi keep as template however, the coefficients in Terzaghi template are evaluated with non-linear regression analysis method based on the soil samples that characteristic's determined in synthetic way. As a result of this evaluation, new formula is developed with new coefficients that are referred to Terzaghi template.The proposed formula is compared with other analytical bearing capacity and experimental bearing capacity values in the sixth chapter. In the last chapter, the conclusions of the study are emphasized. 68

Deprem sonrası meydana gelen hasarların en önemli nedenlerinden biri olan zemin sıvılaşması, kohezyonsuz ve suya doygun kumlu, siltli zeminlerde tekrarlı ve geçici yükler altında meydana gelmektedir. Bu çalışma Edirne ili ve çevresinin sıvılaşma potansiyelinin değerlendirilmesini içermektedir. Kuzey Anadolu Fay Hattı veya Edirne çevresindeki oluşabilecek bir depremde Edirne İlinin de etkilenebileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu sebeple Edirne ilinin sıvılaşma potansiyeli standart penetrasyon deneyi (SPT) ve laboratuvar verileri kullanılarak araştırılmıştır. Edirne ili ve ilçelerinde toplam 77 adet sondaj kuyusu açılmış ve standart penetrasyon deneyi(SPT) yapılmıştır. Sondaj kuyularından örselenmiş ve örselenmemiş zemin numuneleri alınmış, bu numuneler üzerinde zeminin fiziksel ve mekanik özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla deneyler yapılmıştır. Sıvılaşma potansiyeli analizleri bugüne kadar Seed ve Idriss (1971), 'Youd (2001), Rouch (1998)' Wang(1979), Dorby ve diğ. (1992) gibi araştırmacılarının yöntemleriyle incelenmiştir. Idriss & Boulanger'ın 2008-2010 yılında yapmış olduğu çalışması araştırmalara dahil edilmemiş olması nedeniyle bu tezde bu yayın öncü alınmış ve bu yöntemi kullanan LiqSVs programı analizler için kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın son aşamasında farklı deprem büyüklük senaryoları düşünülüp artan sismik aktivite ve odak derinliği ile beraber sıvılaşma potansiyelinin nasıl etkileneceği tartışılmıştır. One of the most important causes of damages after the earthquake is the liquefaction of the ground, which occurs under repeated and transient loads oncohesionless and watery saturated sandy or silty soils. This study includes evaluation of the liquefaction potential of Edirne province and its surroundings. It is thought that Edirne Province may also be affected in an earthquake that may occur at the North Anatolian Fault Line or a possible earthquake around surroundings of Edirne. Therefore, the liquefaction potential of Edirne province have been investigated using standard penetration tests (SPT) and relevant laboratory data. A total number of 77 borehole were opened in Edirne province and districts, followed by standard penetration tests (SPT) to obtain desired characteristics. Remolded and undisturbed soil samples were extracted from boreholes and corresponding experiments were conducted to obtain physical and mechanical properties of the soil. Methods used for analysis of liquefaction potential have been carried out by researchers like Seed and Idriss (1971), Youd (2001), Rouch (1998), Wang (1979) and Dorby et al.(1992). Since the work of Idriss & Boulanger in 2008-2010 was not included in previous studies, this publication was taken as a pioneer and the LiqSVs program using this method was used for analysis.In the last phase of the study, different earthquake magnitude scenarios are being considered and how the potential of liquefaction will be affected with increasing seismic activity and depth of focus is presented. 98

Bu denklemlerin debi ölçümünde kullanıldıklarındaki doğrulukları karşılaştırılmıştır. İki denklem düşü akım derinliği ve kanal taban eğimi bilgisiyle pratik ve yeterli doğrulukta sonuçlar vermiştir. Diğer iki denklem ise düşü akım derinliği yanında kanal taban eğimi ve pürüzlülük bilgilerini kullanarak daha doğru sonuçlar vermiştir. Metin GER December 2002, 63 pages The characteristics of the subcritical, critical and supercritical flows at the free overfall are studied experimentally to obtain information that would be valuable to the design of hydraulic structures. The relationships between the brink depth to channel bed slope and normal depth are determined. Five empirical equations are proposed for calculating these relationships. The accuracy of the equations when used for flow measurement are compared. Two relationships in which the effects of slope and roughness are aggregated, provides a useful estimate of channel discharge if only the brink depth and the channel slope is known. If the brink depth, bed roughness and slope are known then other two relationships can be used to calculate channel discharge with greater accuracy. Buna rağmen, küçük debiler için, gerek geometrik kısıtlamalardan, gerekse doğruluğun memba yüküne bağlılığı nedeniyle, bu savakların işe yararlığı tanşılır konuma gelir. Unless discharges to be measured are very small, the accuracy of the sharp crested weirs, which were in various forms, is very satisfactory. However, for small discharges, either because of the limitations of geometrical constraints or dependence of accuracy on the upstream head, the utility of these weirs becomes questionable. In this study, an attempt is made to eliminate both of these drawbacks of the sharp crested weirs; rectangular slit weir is studied. Based on experiments, a very convenient form of a relationship between the discharge over the slit and geometrical and fluid properties is obtained.
