Abstract: We present the first limit on $g_{A\gamma}$ coupling constant using the Bragg-Primakoff conversion based on an exposure of 1107.5 kg days of data from the CDEX-1B experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The data are consistent with the null signal hypothesis, and no excess signals are observed. Limits of the coupling $g_{A\gamma}<2.08\times10^{-9}$ GeV$^{-1}$ (95\% C.L.) are derived for axions with mass up to 100 eV/$c^2$. Within the hadronic model of KSVZ, our results exclude axion mass $>5.3~\rm{eV}/c^2$ at 95\% C.L., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: We present the first results of the search for sub-MeV fermionic dark matter absorbed by electron targets of Germanium using the 205.4~kg$\cdot$day data collected by the CDEX-10 experiment, with the analysis threshold of 160~eVee. No significant dark matter (DM) signals over the background are observed. Results are presented as limits on the cross section of DM--electron interaction. We present new constraints of cross section in the DM range of 0.1--10 keV/$c^2$ for vector and axial-vector interaction. The upper limit on the cross section is set to be $\rm 5.5\times10^{-46}~cm^2$ for vector interaction, and $\rm 1.8\times10^{-46}~cm^2$ for axial-vector interaction at DM mass of 5 keV/$c^2$., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: We report new constraints on light dark matter (DM) boosted by blazars using the 205.4 kg day data from the CDEX-10 experiment located at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. Two representative blazars, TXS 0506+56 and BL Lacertae are studied. The results derived from TXS 0506+56 exclude DM-nucleon elastic scattering cross sections from $4.6\times 10^{-33}\ \rm cm^2$ to $1\times10^{-26}\ \rm cm^2$ for DM masses between 10 keV and 1 GeV, and the results derived from BL Lacertae exclude DM-nucleon elastic scattering cross sections from $2.4\times 10^{-34}\ \rm cm^2$ to $1\times10^{-26}\ \rm cm^2$ for the same range of DM masses. Abstract: Dark matter (DM) is a major constituent of the Universe. However, no definite evidence of DM particles (denoted as ``$\chi$") has been found in DM direct detection (DD) experiments to date. There is a novel concept of detecting $\chi$ from evaporating primordial black holes (PBHs). We search for $\chi$ emitted from PBHs by investigating their interaction with target electrons. The examined PBH masses range from 1$\times$10$^{15}$ to 7$\times$10$^{16}$ g under the current limits of PBH abundance $f_{PBH}$. Using 205.4 kg$\cdot$day data obtained from the CDEX-10 experiment conducted in the China Jinping Underground Laboratory, we exclude the $\chi$--electron ($\chi$--$e$) elastic-scattering cross section $\sigma_{\chi e} \sim 5\times10^{-29}$ cm$^2$ for $\chi$ with a mass $m_{\chi}\lesssim$ 0.1 keV from our results. With the higher radiation background but lower energy threshold (160 eV), CDEX-10 fill a part of the gap in the previous work. If ($m_{\chi}$, $\sigma_{\chi e}$) can be determined in the future, DD experiments are expected to impose strong constraints on $f_{PBH}$ for large $M_{PBH}$s., Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, 3 tables. Abstract: Recently a dark matter-electron (DM-electron) paradigm has drawn much attention. Models beyond the standard halo model describing DM accelerated by high energy celestial bodies are under intense examination as well. In this Letter, a velocity components analysis (VCA) method dedicated to swift analysis of accelerated DM-electron interactions via semiconductor detectors is proposed and the first HPGe detector-based accelerated DM-electron analysis is realized. Utilizing the method, the first germanium based constraint on sub-GeV solar reflected DM-electron interaction is presented with the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment. In the heavy mediator scenario, our result excels in the mass range of 5$-$15 keV/$c^2$, achieving a 3 orders of magnitude improvement comparing with previous semiconductor experiments. In the light mediator scenario, the strongest laboratory constraint for DM lighter than 0.1 MeV/$c^2$ is presented. The result proves the feasibility and demonstrates the vast potential of the VCA technique in future accelerated DM-electron analyses with semiconductor detectors., Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures. Abstract: CDEX-50 is a next-generation project of the China Dark Matter Experiment (CDEX) that aims to search for dark matter using a 50-kg germanium detector array. This paper comprises a thorough summary of the CDEX-50 dark matter experiment, including an investigation of potential background sources and the development of a background model. Based on the baseline model, the projected sensitivity of weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) is also presented. The expected background level within the energy region of interest, set to 2--2.5 keVee, is $\sim$0.01 counts keVee$^{-1}$ kg$^{-1}$ day$^{-1}$. At 90\% confidence level, the expected sensitivity to spin-independent WIMP-nucleon couplings is estimated to reach a cross-section of 5.1 $\times$ 10$^{-45}$ cm$^{2}$ for a WIMP mass of 5 GeV/c$^{2}$ with an exposure objective of 150 kg$\cdot$year and an analysis threshold of 160 eVee. We extracted radiomic features from multisequence 3T MR images, analyzed these images using a 3D convolutional neural network (3D CNN), and incorporated clinical data into the model. Model performance was evaluated using the area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.Results: The study included 535 patients from three hospitals, comprising 462 males and 43 females. The RDC model, which stands for the Radiomics-Deep Learning-Clinical data model, demonstrated high predictive accuracy, achieving AUCs of 0.794 in the training set, 0.777 in the validation set, and 0.787 in the test set. Statistical analysis confirmed the model’s robustness and the significant contribution of the integrated features to its predictive capabilities.Conclusion: The RDC model effectively predicts HCC recurrence after thermal ablation by synergistically combining advanced imaging analysis and clinical parameters. Abstract: We operated a p-type point contact high purity germanium (PPCGe) detector (CDEX-1B, 1.008 kg) in the China Jinping Underground Laboratory (CJPL) for 500.3 days to search for neutrinoless double beta ($0\nu\beta\beta$) decay of $^{76}$Ge. A total of 504.3 kg$\cdot$day effective exposure data was accumulated. The anti-coincidence and the multi/single-site event (MSE/SSE) discrimination methods were used to suppress the background in the energy region of interest (ROI, 1989$-$2089 keV for this work) with a factor of 23. A background level of 0.33 counts/(keV$\cdot$kg$\cdot$yr) was realized. The lower limit on the half life of $^{76}$Ge $0\nu\beta\beta$ decay was constrained as $T_{1/2}^{0\nu}\ > \ {1.0}\times 10^{23}\ \rm yr\ (90\% \ C.L.)$, corresponding to the upper limits on the effective Majorana neutrino mass: $\langle m_{\beta\beta}\rangle < $3.2$-$7.5$\ \mathrm{eV}$., Comment: 11 pages, 12 figures, 2 tables. Abstract: Low-energy background through Compton scattering from the ambient $\gamma$ rays can be contaminated in direct dark matter search experiments. In this paper, we report comparable measurements on low-energy spectra via Compton scattering from several $\gamma$-ray sources with a p-type point-contact germanium detector. The spectra between 500 eV and 18 keV have been measured and analyzed. Moreover, the features of the electron binding effect, particularly at the edges of the K- and L-shells in the germanium atom, were observed with different gamma sources and were consistent with the models in the Geant4 simulation. Abstract: Impulse noise in power line communication (PLC) channel seriously degrades the performance of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system. To remedy this problem, a MIMO detection method based on fractional lower order statistics (FLOS) for PLC channel with impulse noise is proposed in this paper. The alpha stable distribution is used to model impulse noise, and FLOS is applied to construct the criteria of MIMO detection. Then the optimal detection solution is obtained by recursive least squares algorithm. Finally, the transmitted signals in PLC MIMO system are restored with the obtained detection matrix. The proposed method does not require channel estimation and has low computational complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed method has a better PLC MIMO detection performance than the existing ones under impulsive noise environment.

However, it is unknown whether the role of NRG4 in lipid homeostasis is causal to atherosclerosis and whether the effect is beneficial across different atherosclerosis subtypes.Methods: We investigated the causal role of the levels of serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides regulated by NRG4 in subtypes of atherosclerosis through two sample Mendelian randomization. Aggregated genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data for serum lipid level of 1.32 million individuals with European ancestry were obtained from the Global Lipids Genetics Consortium. GWAS summary data for four atherosclerosis subtypes (peripheral, coronary, cerebral and the other atherosclerosis) were obtained from FinnGen Consortium. Generalized inverse-variance–weighted Mendelian randomization and several sensitivity analyses were used to obtain the causal estimates.Results: A 1-SD genetically elevated LDL-C level mediated by NRG4 was validated to be nominally associated with the risk of peripheral atherosclerosis (log (odds ratio)= 4.14, 95% confidence interval 0.11 to 8.17, P = 0.04), and the other associations were not significant or could not be validated by sensitivity analyses.Conclusion: LDL-C lowering mediated by NRG4 is likely to prevent peripheral atherosclerosis.Keywords: Mendelian randomization analysis, NRG4, atherosclerosis, lipid

Abstract: We present novel constraints on boosted light dark matter particles (denoted as ``$\chi$'') from evaporating primordial black holes (PBHs) using 205.4 kg$\cdot$day data from the China Jinping Underground Laboratory's CDEX-10 p-type point contact germanium detector with a 160 eVee analysis threshold. $\chi$ from PBHs with masses ranging from 1$\times$10$^{15}$ g to 7$\times$10$^{16}$ g are searched in this work. In the presence of PBH abundance compatible with present bounds, our result excludes the $\chi$-nucleon elastic-scattering cross section region from 3.4$\times$10$^{-32}$ cm$^{2}$ to 2.3$\times$10$^{-29}$ cm$^{2}$ for $\chi$ of 1 keV to 24 MeV from PBHs with masses of 5$\times$10$^{15}$ g, as well as from 1.1$\times$10$^{-28}$ cm$^{2}$ to 7.6$\times$10$^{-28}$ cm$^{2}$ for $\chi$ of 1 keV to 0.6 MeV from PBHs with masses of 7$\times$10$^{16}$ g. If the $\chi$-nucleon elastic-scattering cross section can be determined in the future, the abundance of PBHs may be severely constrained by $\chi$ evaporation. With the lower threshold (160 eVee) of the CDEX-10 experiment compared to the previously used experiments, this work allows for a better reach at soft spectra produced by heavier PBHs, which demonstrates the vast potential of such a technical route to pursue $\chi$ from larger PBHs with a low threshold., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures. Abstract: We investigate exotic neutrino interactions using the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. New constraints on the mass and couplings of new gauge bosons are presented. Two nonstandard neutrino interactions are considered: a $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge-boson-induced interaction between an active neutrino and electron/nucleus, and a dark-photon-induced interaction between a sterile neutrino and electron/nucleus via kinetic mixing with a photon. This work probes an unexplored parameter space involving sterile neutrino coupling with a dark photon. Abstract: A search for exotic dark matter (DM) in the sub-GeV mass range has been conducted using 205 kg$\cdot$day data taken from a p-type point contact germanium detector of CDEX-10 experiment at China Jinping underground laboratory. New low-mass dark matter searching channels, neutral current fermionic DM absorption ($\chi+A\rightarrow \nu+A$) and DM-nucleus 3$\rightarrow$2 scattering ($\chi+\chi+A\rightarrow \phi+A$), have been analyzed with an energy threshold of 160 eVee. No significant signal was found. Thus new limits on the DM-nucleon interaction cross section are set for both models at sub-GeV DM mass region. A cross section limit for the fermionic DM absorption is set to be $\rm 2.5\times 10^{-46} cm^2$(90\% C.L.) at DM mass of 10 MeV/c$^2$. For the DM-nucleus 3$\rightarrow$2 scattering scenario, limits are extended to DM mass of 5 MeV/c$^2$ and 14 MeV/c$^2$ for the massless dark photon and bound DM final state, respectively., Comment: 5 pages, 7 figures

However, there has been limited investigation into potential links between FEE and adolescents’ online social behaviors, especially cyberbullying bystander behaviors, which are pivotal in cyberbullying incidents. This study aimed to assess the relative importance of different aspects of FEE (positive FEE vs. negative FEE vs. the Positive-to-Negative ratio) in predicting adolescents’ cyberbullying bystander behaviors, and the mediating roles of affective and cognitive empathy in these relationships.Methods: A sample of 1,952 adolescents (Mage = 14.18, SD = 1.33) completed questionnaires, including the Family Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire, Basic Empathy Scale, and Cyberbullying Bystander Behavior Scale. SPSS 26.0 and Mplus 8.3 were used for analysis.Results: (1) Positive FEE exhibited a positive association with protective behavior and a negative association with indifferent behavior. Conversely, negative FEE showed positive associations with reinforcing and indifferent behaviors. However, the Positive-to-Negative ratio did not exhibit significant associations with any of the three bystander behaviors. (2) Negative FEE emerged as relatively more significant than both positive FEE and the Positive-to-Negative ratio in predicting reinforcing and indifferent behaviors. (3) Affective empathy mediated the relationship between positive FEE and reinforcing behavior, while cognitive empathy mediated the relationship between positive FEE and protective and indifferent behaviors. Moreover, cognitive empathy exerted a more influential role than affective empathy in this mediation process.Conclusion: Various aspects of FEE demonstrated distinct relationships with three cyberbullying bystander behaviors, with affective and cognitive empathy playing an important mediating role in the association. This finding holds substantial implications for the development of cyberbullying prevention strategies. Complex immune microenvironment of the liver is linked to the development of HCC. PVALB is a calcium-binding protein which has been described as a cancer suppressor gene in thyroid cancer and glioma. Nevertheless, the role of PVALB in HCC is unknown.Materials and Methods: We obtained data from TCGA and GSE54236 datasets. MCP-counter, WGCNA and LASSO model were applied to identify PVALB. With UALCAN, MethSurv, and other websites, we probed the expression, methylation and survival of PVALB. LinkedOmics and GSEA were adopted for functional analysis, while TIMER, TISIDB, Kaplan-Meier plotter, TIDE databases were utilized to evaluate the relevance of PVALB to the tumor immune microenvironment and predict immunotherapy efficacy. TargetScan, DIANA, LncRNASNP2 databases and relevant experiments were employed to construct ceRNA network. Finally, molecular docking and drug sensitivity of PVALB were characterized by GeneMANIA, CTD, and so on.Results: PVALB was recognized as a gene associated with HCC and NK cell. Its expression was down-regulated in HCC tissue, which lead to adverse prognosis. Besides, the hypomethylation of PVALB was related to its reduced expression. Notably, PVALB was tightly linked to immune, and its reduced expression attenuated the anticancer effect of NK cells via the Fas/FasL pathway, leading to a adverse outcome. The lnc-YY1AP1-3/hsa-miR-6735-5p/PVALB axis may regulate the PVALB expression. Abstract: We present improved germanium-based constraints on sub-GeV dark matter via dark matter--electron ($\chi$-$e$) scattering using the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment. Using a novel calculation technique, we attain predicted $\chi$-$e$ scattering spectra observable in high-purity germanium detectors. In the heavy mediator scenario, our results achieve 3 orders of magnitude of improvement for $m_{\chi}$ larger than 80 MeV/c$^2$ compared to previous germanium-based $\chi$-$e$ results. We also present the most stringent $\chi$-$e$ cross-section limit to date among experiments using solid-state detectors for $m_{\chi}$ larger than 90 MeV/c$^2$ with heavy mediators and $m_{\chi}$ larger than 100 MeV/c$^2$ with electric dipole coupling. The result proves the feasibility and demonstrates the vast potential of a new $\chi$-$e$ detection method with high-purity germanium detectors in ultralow radioactive background., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures. Abstract: A natural broad energy germanium (BEGe) detector is operated in the China Jinping Underground Laboratory (CJPL) for a feasibility study of building the next generation experiment of the neutrinoless double-beta (0{$\nu\beta\beta$}) decay of $^{76}$Ge. The setup of the prototype facility, characteristics of the BEGe detector, background reduction methods, and data analysis are described in this paper. A background index of 6.4$\times$10$^{-3}$ counts/(keV$\cdot$kg$\cdot$day) is achieved and 1.86 times lower than our previous result of the CDEX-1 detector. No signal is observed with an exposure of 186.4 kg$\cdot$day, thus a limit on the half life of $^{76}$Ge 0$\nu\beta\beta$ decay is set at T$_{1/2}^{0\nu}$ $>$ 5.62$\times$10$^{22}$ yr at 90% C.L.. Abstract: We present new constraints on light dark matter boosted by cosmic rays (CRDM) using the 205.4 kg day data of the CDEX-10 experiment conducted at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The Monte Carlo simulation package CJPL\_ESS was employed to evaluate the Earth shielding effect. Several key factors have been introduced and discussed in our CRDM analysis, including the contributions from heavier CR nuclei than proton and helium, the inhomogeneity of CR distribution, and the impact of the form factor in the Earth attenuation calculation. Our result excludes the dark matter--nucleon elastic scattering cross-section region from $1.7\times 10^{-30}$ to $10^{-26}~\rm cm^2$ for dark matter of 10 keV$/c^2$ to 1 GeV$/c^2$., Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures. For such wounds, there are currently few efficient therapies available.Methods: We reported the development of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS)-based self-healing hydrogel loaded with ultra-small copper nanoparticles (Cunps) for local treatment of diabetic wound healing. The structure of Cunps was identified by XRD, TEM, XPS and other methods, and the characterization of the synthesized Cunps-loaded self-healing carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS)-protocatechualdehyde (PCA) hydrogel (Cunps@CMCS-PCA hydrogel) was further investigated. The therapeutic effect of Cunps@CMCS-PCA hydrogel in diabetic wound healing was explored in vitro and in vivo.Results: The findings showed that a kind of ultra-small size copper nanoparticles with excellent biocompatibility was prepared. CMCS was chemically conjugated to PCA to form self-healing hydrogels via the formation of an amide bond followed by the loading of ultra-small copper nanoparticles. The obtained Cunps@CMCS-PCA hydrogel showed a typical three-dimensional interlinked network structure with self-healing ability and porosity. It exhibited good biocompatibility in diabetic wounds. Furthermore, Cunps@CMCS-PCA hydrogel group significantly prevented bacterial growth in the skin wound of diabetic rats as compared to model group and CMCS-PCA hydrogel-treated group. After 3 days, no visible bacterial proliferation was observed. It also increased angiogenesis through Cunps mediated activation of ATP7A to prevent induction of autophagy. Furthermore, Cunps@CMCS-PCA hydrogel mainly depended on PCA-induced inhibition on inflammation of macrophage via JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway. As a result, compared with delayed wound healing process with lower wound healing rate valued at 68.6% within 7 days in the model group, Cunps@CMCS-PCA significantly accelerated wound healing recovery and increased wound healing rate to 86.5%, suggesting that Cunps@CMCS-PCA hydrogel effectively accelerated wound healing.Conclusion: Cunps@CMCS-PCA hydrogel offered a new therapeutic approach for quickening diabetic wound healing.Keywords: chronic diabetic wounds, wound healing, copper nanoparticles, carboxymethyl chitosan, protocatechualdehyde, hydrogel

Abstract: We present weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment (CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level (C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low $m_{\chi}$ region. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. Abstract: A consistent description of the radiative polarization for relativistic electrons in intense laser fields is derived by generalizing the Sokolov-Ternov effect in general field structure. The new form together with the spin-dependent radiation-reaction force provides a complete set of dynamical equations for electron momentum and spin in strong fields. When applied to varying intense fields, e.g. the laser fields, the generalized Sokolov-Ternov effect allows electrons to gain or lose polarization in any directions other than along the magnetic field in the rest frame of the electron. The generalized theory is applied to the collision process between initially polarized/unpolarized high energy electrons with linearly polarized ultra-intense laser pulse, showing results that eliminate the dependence on specific choices of a quantization axis and spin initialization existing in spin-projection models., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: We present the improved constraints on couplings of solar axions and more generic bosonic dark matter particles using 737.1 kg-days of data from the CDEX-1B experiment. The CDEX-1B experiment, located at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory, primarily aims at the direct detection of weakly interacting massive particles using a p-type point-contact germanium detector. We adopt the profile likelihood ratio method for analysis of data in the presence of backgrounds. An energy threshold of 160 eV was achieved, much better than the 475 eV of CDEX-1A with an exposure of 335.6 kg-days. This significantly improves the sensitivity for the bosonic dark matter below 0.8 keV among germanium detectors. Limits are also placed on the coupling $g_{Ae} < 2.48 \times 10^{-11}$ from Compton, bremsstrahlung, atomic-recombination and de-excitation channels and $g^{eff}_{AN} \times g_{Ae} < 4.14 \times 10^{-17}$ from a $^{57}$Fe M1 transition at 90\% confidence level., Comment: version accepted by PRD, 9 pages, 11 figures

Abstract: We report constraints on the dark photon effective kinetic mixing parameter (${\kappa}$) with data taken from two ${p}$-type point-contact germanium detectors of the CDEX-10 experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The 90\% confidence level upper limits on ${\kappa}$ of solar dark photon from 205.4 kg-day exposure are derived, probing new parameter space with masses (${m_V}$) from 10 to 300 eV/${c^2}$ in direct detection experiments. 29. Exploring the origin of multiwavelength activities of high-redshift FSRQ PKS 1502+106 during 2014-2018

Abstract: The origin of the multi-band activities (outbursts/flares) of blazars is still a heavily debated topic. Shock and magnetic reconnection have long been considered as possible triggers for the multi-band activities. In this paper, we present an exploration of the origin of multi-band activities for a high-redshift (z =1.8385) FSRQ PKS 1502+106. Utilizing multi-band data from radio to $\gamma$-ray and optical polarization observations, we investigate two dramatic activities in detail: a $\gamma$-ray dominated outburst in 2015 and an optical dominated outburst in 2017. Our main results are as follows. (I) A fast $\gamma$-ray flare with a flux-doubling time-scale as short as 1-hr in 2015 is discovered. Based on the variability time-scale, the physical parameters of the flaring region (e.g, minimum Doppler factor, emission region size, etc.) are constrained. At the peak of the flare, the $\gamma$-ray spectrum hardens to $\Gamma_{\gamma} = 1.82\pm0.04$ and exhibits an obvious curvature/break characteristic that is caused by the typical "cooling break". Modelings of multi-band SEDs reveal a very hard electronic energy spectrum with the electronic spectral index of $1.07\pm0.53$. This result suggests that this fast $\gamma$-ray flare may be triggered by magnetic reconnection. (II) During the outburst in 2017, the optical polarization degree and optical fluxes show a very tight correlation. By analyzing Stokes parameters of polarization observations, our results show that this outburst could be triggered by a transverse shock with a compression ratio of $\eta> 2.2$, and the magnetic field intensity of the shock emission region is about $0.032$ G., Comment: 18 pages, 13 figures, 5 tables, accepted by ApJ

Abstract: The colliding between ultra-relativistic electrons and an ultra-intense laser pulse is a powerful approach to testify the physics in strong-field QED regime. By considering spin-dependent radiation-reaction during laser-electron collision we find anti-symmetric deflection of electrons with different spin states. We revealed that such deflection is induced by the non-zero work done by radiation-reaction force along field polarization-direction in a half-period of phase, which is larger for spin-anti-paralleled electrons and smaller for spin-paralleled electrons. The spin-projection on the magnetic field of an electron gets inversed in adjacent half-periods due to oscillating magnetic field and therefore the deflection due to spin-dependent radiation is accumulated rather than vanishing. 34. Quantum Reflection above the Classical Radiation-reaction Barrier in the QED Regime

Abstract: The colliding between an ultra-intense laser pulse with a high energy electron beam is not only an important source for high-brightness gamma-rays but also a powerful approach to exploit new physics in the exotic strong-field QED regime. In the cross-colliding geometry, when radiation-reaction (RR) force is interpreted by the classical Landau-Lifshitz equation, we found that there is a distinctive barrier that allows penetration of electrons at energies beyond the barrier and blocks those of lower energies. While in the QED perspective, electrons can be well reflected (transmit) in the regime where complete transmission (reflection) is allowed classically. The reflection (transmission) is guaranteed by the quantum nature of radiation but forbidden by classical description. This effect is accompanied by the blurring of the angular distribution for scattered electrons and becomes significant for laser intensities at $2\times10^{23}\ \mathrm{W/cm^2}$ and electron energies of $\sim 10^2\ \mathrm{MeV}$; thus could be measured in the up-coming 10-100PW laser facilities. By detecting the reflection rate of the energetic electron beam after colliding and resolve the angular distribution, the results are capable of identifying the boundaries between classical and QED approaches in the strong field regime and testifying the various models describing the fundamental process., Comment: 18 pages, 7 figures

Abstract: PurposeHER2-targeted therapies have substantially improved the outcome of patients with breast cancer, however, they can be associated with cardiac toxicity. Guidelines recommend holding HER2-targeted therapies until resolution of cardiac dysfunction. SAFE-HEaRt is the first trial that prospectively tests whether these therapies can be safely administered without interruptions in patients with cardiac dysfunction.MethodsPatients with stage I-IV HER2-positive breast cancer candidates for trastuzumab, pertuzumab or ado-trastuzumab emtansine (TDM-1), with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) 40-49% and no symptoms of heart failure (HF) were enrolled. All patients underwent cardiology visits, serial echocardiograms and received beta blockers and ACE inhibitors unless contraindicated. The primary endpoint was completion of the planned HER2-targeted therapies without developing either a cardiac event (CE) defined as HF, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia or cardiac death or significant asymptomatic worsening of LVEF. The study was considered successful if planned oncology therapy completion rate was at least 30%.ResultsOf 31 enrolled patients, 30 were evaluable. Fifteen patients were treated with trastuzumab, 14 with trastuzumab and pertuzumab, and 2 with TDM-1. Mean LVEF was 45% at baseline and 46% at the end of treatment. Twenty-seven patients (90%) completed the planned HER2-targeted therapies. Two patients experienced a CE and 1 had an asymptomatic worsening of LVEF to ≤ 35%.ConclusionThis study provides safety data of HER2-targeted therapies in patients with breast cancer and reduced LVEF while receiving cardioprotective medications and close cardiac monitoring. Our results demonstrate the importance of collaboration between cardiology and oncology providers to allow for delivery of optimal oncologic care to this unique population.

This study aims to explore the level and role of miR-204-5p in the chronic constrictive injury (CCI) model of rats.Patients and Methods: The CCI rat model was constructed to evaluate paw withdrawal threshold (PWT), paw withdrawal latency (PWL), the expressions of miR-204-5p, and the contents of inflammatory factors in the model. Overexpression of miR-204-5p in rat spinal cord was induced by intrathecal injection of miR-204-5p mimics. PWT and PWL were used to estimate mechanical and thermal pain thresholds. IL-6 and TNF-α were determined by ELISA. Luciferase reporter gene was conducted to verify the targeting relationship between miR-204-5p and BRD4.Results: miR-204-5p was abnormally down-regulated in the CCI group. The thresholds of mechanical and thermal pain stimulation in the CCI group were lower, and the levels of inflammatory factors were higher than those in the sham group. Overexpression of miR-204-5p alleviated PWT, PWL and inflammatory factors. Besides, the luciferase reporter gene showed that BRD4 was a target gene of miR-204-5p.Conclusion: These results suggested that miR-204-5p may alleviate neuropathic pain and inflammation through targeted regulation of BRD4 expression.Keywords: neuropathic pain, miR-204-5p, chronic constrictive injury model, BRD4

Magnesium lithospermate B (Mlb), one of the most important components of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge, is mainly used to treat cardiovascular diseases because of its anti-apoptotic effects. The mechanism underlying the protective effect of Mlb against cisplatin-induced AKI remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the protective effect of Mlb on mitochondrial function against apoptosis caused by cisplatin-induced renal injury.Methods: Renal injury induced by cisplatin in mouse renal tubular epithelial cells (mTECs) was measured by quantifying serum creatinine levels, mitochondrial morphology, cell viability, apoptosis, Dynamin-related protein 1(Drp1) expression, etc. The cells were then administered Mlb to determine its protective effects against cisplatin-induced AKI.Results: Mlb treatment significantly reduced serum creatinine levels and pathological injury of renal, inhibited the production of malondialdehyde, and reduced the depletion of superoxide dismutase. In addition, Mlb reduced Bax/Bcl2, cleaved caspase-3/caspase-3, and maintained mitochondrial integrity after AKI. Mlb administration also improved cell viability and reduced the percentage of apoptotic cells in vitro. Furthermore, Mlb reduced mitochondrial reactive oxygen species, improved mitochondrial membrane potential, and ameliorated mitochondrial morphological abnormalities by downregulating Drp1 expression.Conclusion: These results indicated that Mlb could protect the kidneys against cisplatin-induced apoptosis by alleviating mitochondrial dysfunction.Keywords: acute renal injury, cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity, mitochondria homeostasis, apoptosis, Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge

All participants completed polysomnography (PSG) and BP monitoring during different sleep stages using pulse transit time analysis. Subjects were divided into three groups based on the obstructive apnea–hypopnea index (OAHI), ie, primary snoring (PS), mild-to-moderate OSA, and severe OSA group.Results: Totally, 284 habitually snoring children were enrolled, including 85 with PS, 152 with mild-to-moderate OSA, and 47 with severe OSA. The differences of age and sex ratio among groups were not statistically significant (all P> 0.05). For the normal weight group, compared with those in the PS group, children in the severe OSA group had higher BP, mainly in N2 and R stages, and children in the mild-to-moderate OSA group had lower BP in all sleep and wake stages (all P< 0.01). For the overweight/obese group, compared with the PS group, children in the severe OSA group had higher BP in all sleep and wake stages, and children in the mild-to-moderate group had higher BP mainly in sleep stages (all P< 0.01). Compared with normal weight children, those who were overweight/obese and had OSA had higher BP in all sleep and wake stages (all P< 0.01). There was a synergistic effect of OSA and weight status on BP (P< 0.01).Conclusion: The influence of OSA on both systolic and diastolic pediatric BP differs between children with normal weight and overweight/obese status. Overweight/obese status synergistically worsens nocturnal blood pressure in children with OSA. Potential confounding factors were adjusted using survey logistic regression models.Results: EBV seroprevalence was 69.6% (95% CI, 67.1– 72.1%) for US children aged 6– 19. The prevalence was 8.86% (95% CI, 7.47– 10.47%) for ADHD among 6– 19 year olds, 11.70% (95% CI, 9.84– 13.87%) for learning disability among 6– 15 year olds, and 10.18% (95% CI, 8.58– 12.05%) for special education among 6– 17 year olds. Children with positive anti-EBV had higher crude prevalence rates of learning disability and special education but not ADHD compared with those with negative anti-EBV. The adjusted odds ratios were 2.76 (95% CI, 1.53– 4.96) for learning disability, 3.58 (95% CI, 1.92– 6.55) for special education, and 0.77 (95% CI, 0.42– 1.38) for ADHD, when comparing children with positive and negative anti-EBV.Conclusion: EBV seropositivity was associated with learning disability and special education among US children. The mobile phases were 0.1% formic acid-acetonitrile. The scanning method was multi-reaction monitoring using ESI+ source, and the ion pairs for ripretinib and IS were m/z 509.93→ 416.85 and 499.1→ 482.09, respectively. This animal experiment adopted a three period self-control experimental design. In the first period, ripretinib was orally administered to six beagle dogs at a dose of 5 mg/kg. In the second period, the same six beagle dogs were orally given itraconazole at a dose of 7 mg/kg, after 30 min, ripretinib was orally given. In the third period, voriconazole at a dose of 7 mg/kg was given orally, and then ripretinib was orally given. At different time points, the blood samples were collected. The concentration of ripretinib was detected, and the pharmacokinetic parameters of ripretinib were calculated.Results: Ripretinib had a good linear relationship in the range of 1– 1000 ng/mL. The precision, accuracy, recovery, matrix effect and stability met the requirements of the guiding principles. After erdafitinib combined with itraconazole, the Cmax and AUC0→t of ripretinib increased by 38.35% and 36.36%, respectively, and the t1/2 was prolonged to 7.53 h. After ripretinib combined with voriconazole, the Cmax and AUC0→t of ripretinib increased by 37.44% and 25.52%, respectively, and the t1/2 was prolonged to 7.33 h.Conclusion: A new and reliable UPLC-MS/MS technique was fully optimized and developed to detect the concentration of ripretinib in beagle dog plasma. Abstract: Lateral movement of soil organic carbon (SOC) induced by soil erosion and runoff changes spatial distributions of SOC, and further changes the land-atmosphere CO2 exchange and terrestrial carbon budget. However, current ecosystem models do not or only poorly integrate the process of SOC lateral movement and cannot simulate the impacts of soil erosion on the carbon cycle. This study integrated SOC erosion and deposition processes into a process-based ecosystem model (i.e., Integrated BIosphere Simulator (IBIS)), and separately simulated the lateral movements of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and particulate organic carbon (POC). The model was evaluated in three river basins in Northeast China that are dominated by cropland, forest, and grassland. The results showed that the model reproduced well the production, erosion, and deposition of DOC and POC. The annual SOC lateral movement (1.34–7.22 g C m−2 yr−1) induced by erosion in the three tested basins was 0.27%–1.45% of the annual net primary production. The model developed in this study has great implications for simulating the lateral movements of SOC in terrestrial ecosystems, which can improve model performance in projecting the terrestrial carbon budget.

All females were followed-up until delivery to record the occurrence of GDM and perinatal outcomes. GDM-free curves were plotted to compare the occurrence of GDM between high- and low- SNHG17 expression groups. The diagnostic value of plasma SNHG17 for GDM was analyzed by ROC curve analysis. Moreover, the cell counting kit (CCK-8) assay was performed to evaluate the impact of SNHG17 on cell viability of INS-1, and the level of insulin secretion was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) after overexpression or knockdown of SNHG17.Results: SNHG17 was downregulated in GDM patients compared to normal pregnant females. Low plasma expression levels of SNHG17 were closely correlated with the high incidence rate of GDM (GDM-free curve). However, there are challenges achieving targeted delivery and controllable drug release for specific diseases.Materials and Methods: In this study, a glutathione (GSH)-modified fluorescent gold nanoparticle termed AuLA-GSH was prepared and a Co2+-induced self-assembly drug delivery platform termed AuLA-GSH-Co was constructed. Both the pH-responsive character and drug loading behavior of AuLA-GSH-Co were studied in vitro. Kidney-targeting capability was investigated in vitro and in vivo. Finally, the anti-fibrosis efficiency of AuLA-GSH-Co in a mouse model of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) was explored.Results: AuLA-GSH-Co was sensitive to pH changes and released Co2+ in acidic conditions, allowing it to have controllable drug release abilities. AuLA-GSH-Co was found to improve cellular uptake of Co2+ ions compared to CoCl2 in vitro. AuLA-GSH exhibited specific renal targeting and prolonged renal retention time with low non-specific accumulation in vivo. Moreover, the anti-fibrosis efficiency of AuLA-GSH-Co was higher compared to CoCl2 in a mouse model of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO).Conclusion: AuLA-GSH-Co could greatly enhance drug delivery efficiency with renal targeting capability and obviously relieve renal fibrosis, providing a promising strategy for renal fibrosis therapy.Keywords: gold nanoparticles, self-assembly, pH sensitivity, drug delivery, renal fibrosis
