As an important representative of ancient Chinese cultural heritage, the classification of Terracotta Warriors point cloud data aids in cultural heritage preservation and digital reconstruction. However, these data face challenges such as complex morphological and structural variations, sparsity, and irregularity. This paper proposes a method named Multi-scale Local Geometric Transformer-Mamba (MLGTM) to improve the accuracy and robustness of Terracotta Warriors point cloud classification tasks. To effectively capture the geometric information of point clouds, we introduce local geometric encoding, including local coordinates and feature information, effectively capturing the complex local morphology and structural variations of the Terracotta Warriors and extracting representative local features. Additionally, we propose a multi-scale Transformer-Mamba information aggregation module, which employs a dual-branch Transformer with a Mamba structure and finally aggregates them on multiple scales to effectively handle the sparsity and irregularity of the Terracotta Warriors point cloud data. We conducted experiments on several datasets, including the ModelNet40, ScanObjectNN, ShapeNetPart, ETH, and 3D Terracotta Warriors fragment datasets. Abstract Background Ancestry estimation of skulls is under a wide range of applications in forensic science, anthropology, and facial reconstruction. This study aims to avoid defects in traditional skull ancestry estimation methods, such as time-consuming and labor-intensive manual calibration of feature points, and subjective results. Results This paper uses the skull depth image as input, based on AlexNet, introduces the Wide module and SE-block to improve the network, designs and proposes ANINet, and realizes the ancestry classification. Such a unified model architecture of ANINet overcomes the subjectivity of manually calibrating feature points, of which the accuracy and efficiency are improved. We use depth projection to obtain the local depth image and the global depth image of the skull, take the skull depth image as the object, use global, local, and local + global methods respectively to experiment on the 95 cases of Han skull and 110 cases of Uyghur skull data sets, and perform cross-validation. The experimental results show that the accuracies of the three methods for skull ancestry estimation reached 98.21%, 98.04% and 99.03%, respectively. Compared with the classic networks AlexNet, Vgg-16, GoogLenet, ResNet-50, DenseNet-121, and SqueezeNet, the network proposed in this paper has the advantages of high accuracy and small parameters; compared with state-of-the-art methods, the method in this paper has a higher learning rate and better ability to estimate. Conclusions In summary, skull depth images have an excellent performance in estimation, and ANINet is an effective approach for skull ancestry estimation.

Accurate and robust 3D human modeling from a single image presents significant challenges. Existing methods have shown potential, but they often fail to generate reconstructions that match the level of detail in the input image. These methods particularly struggle with loose clothing. They typically employ parameterized human models to constrain the reconstruction process, ensuring the results do not deviate too far from the model and produce anomalies. However, this also limits the recovery of loose clothing. To address this issue, we propose an end-to-end method called IHRPN for reconstructing clothed humans from a single 2D human image. This method includes a feature extraction module for semantic extraction of image features. We propose an image semantic feature extraction aimed at achieving pixel model space consistency and enhancing the robustness of loose clothing. We extract features from the input image to infer and recover the SMPL-X mesh, and then combine it with a normal map to guide the implicit function to reconstruct the complete clothed human. Unlike traditional methods, we use local features for implicit surface regression. Our experimental results show that our IHRPN method performs excellently on the CAPE and AGORA datasets, achieving good performance, and the reconstruction of loose clothing is noticeably more accurate and robust. The virtual restoration of cultural relics by adopting computer technology is the trend of cultural relics protection and value mining. In order to solve the problem of large error in the existing matching methods of non-thin-walled cultural relic fragments, in this paper, a matching method of cultural relic fragments is proposed, when the thickness feature and the contour feature are combined, and the strategy of coarse matching followed by fine matching is adopted. Firstly, the broken contour of cultural relic fragments is extracted, and the upper and lower contour lines are identified; secondly, the thickness feature is calculated and the thickness histogram is constructed. After that, the initial matching of fragments is completed according to the similarity of the histogram. Thirdly, the fracture contour is segmented, and the fragments of the mismatching relationship in the initial matching are also eliminated by the modified Hausdorff distance to optimize the coarse matching results. Finally, the SVD method is adopted to solve the rigid body transformation parameters, and the ICP algorithm is employed to accurately align the fine matching. The experimental results show that with the method in this paper, excellent matching results have been obtained regarding the fragments of the Terracotta Warriors. Compared with matching methods of other cultural relic fragments, the accuracy and algorithm cost of this method are better.

Skull registration is one of the important steps in craniofacial reconstruction, and its registration accuracy and efficiency have an important impact on the reconstruction results. To solve the problem of low accuracy and efficiency of existing skull registration methods, a hierarchical skull point cloud registration method is proposed in this paper. The whole registration process is divided into a rough registration stage and a fine registration stage. Firstly, feature points are extracted from the pre-processed skull point cloud model, and a local coordinate reference system is established according to the feature points and their neighbor points. The improved spin image is used to construct the local feature descriptor. The feature matching is carried out according to the nearest neighbor algorithm, and the k-means algorithm is used to eliminate the mismatching points to achieve skull rough registration. Then, based on rough registration, we use an improved ICP algorithm to achieve fine registration of the skull. In this process, we use random sampling to reduce the search scale of points and add geometric feature constraints to further eliminate mismatched points. Finally, the whole registration algorithm is applied to the skull point cloud data to verify. The experimental results show that, compared with other methods, the registration effect and efficiency of the proposed method are superior to those of other methods. In order to verify the universality of the method, we also use a common data set for verification. Experiments show that the method is also very effective.
