Abstract

A scheme for using a two-stage cyclone gasifier for high-temperature rice husk pyrolysis and gasification to reduce the tar content in biogas is presented in this study. The two-stage cyclone gasifier consisted of an upper cyclone high-temperature pyrolysis chamber and a lower steam spray gasifier. The staging pyrolysis and gasification process used in this study can increase the carbon conversion efficiency and reduce tar content by increasing the pyrolysis temperature. This process uses part of the produced gas for combustion in an external burner to generate high-temperature (1600 °C) anaerobic flue gas and to provide heat for pyrolysis and gasification. This study simulates the isothermal gas phase and the gas-solid flow field for the upper cyclone chamber, as well as the gas-solid flow field, with steam (heat transfer between the steam and the gas is considered), for the entire gasifier by varying the structural and operational parameters. The optimal parameters for the cyclone gasifier for good mixing and lengthy residence (2.3 to 4.8 s) of the rice husk particles were found to be inlet angles of 20° and 30° with inlet velocities between 40 and 80 m/s.

Abstract

Pulse combustion as an advanced combustion has many advantages, such as high combustion efficiency, low pollution emissions. Due to the complex mechanism of pulse combustion, narrow adjustment range of load, it is difficult to achieve a large-scale application. For this reason, the pulse combustion process is investigated by means of simulation in this paper, and the effects of some parameters on the combustion process are analyzed including the inlet pressure, excess air ratio, decoupling chamber pressure and wall temperature of the combustion chamber. The results indicate that the stable pulse combustion could be produced in the combustor when the temperature of the combustion chamber is from 800k to 1400k. With the excess air coefficient increased, the pulsation frequency gradually decreases. As the excess air coefficient or inlet pressure increases, the pressure in the combustor gradually increases. The combustor performance could be controlled by adjusting the decoupling chamber pressure. Keywordsnumerical simulation;pulse combustion; stability; operational characteristics;adjusting methods

Abstract

Four novel tetranuclear macrocyclic compounds [Cd2(η2-O2CFcCO2)2(2,2′-bpy)2(H2O)2] · 2H2O (1), [Zn2(η2-O2CFcCO2)2(2,2′-bpy)2(H2O)2] · CH3OH · H2O (2), [Co2(O2CFcCO2)2(2,2′-bpy)2(μ2-OH2)2] · CH3OH · 2H2O (3), and [Ni2(O2CFcCO2)2(2,2′-bpy)2(μ2-OH2)2] · CH3OH · 2H2O (Fc=(η5-C5H4)Fe(η5-C5H4) (4) have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal diffraction. The magnetic behaviors for compounds (3) and (4) are studied in the temperature range of 5.0–300 K. The results show that the antiferromagnetic coupling of CoII–CoII pairs occurs in (3), and unusual global ferromagnetic coupling between nickel (II) ions exists in (4). The solution-state differential pulse voltammetries of compounds (1)–(4) all show two peaks with large separations (ΔE) that indicate strong interactions between two ferrocene moieties.
