Bus merupakan transportasi yang masih menjadi pilihan utama masyarakat yang mudahdijangkau, dengan membeli tiket melalui agen bus masyarakat bisa menikmati layanan bus.Namun dalam proses transaksinya pelanggan harus mengunjungi agen bus untuk melakukantransaksi pembelian tiket. Hal ini tentunya sangat tidak praktis dan tiket yang telah dibeli jugarentan akan kerusakan dan rawan hilang. Oleh karena itu diperlukan sebuah sistem e-ticketinguntuk mendukung proses transaksi yang lebih efisien dan meminimalisir kerusakan dankehilangan pada tiket. Framework laravel digunakan dalam pembuatan website karena dalamframework laravel menyediakan sistem mail gateway yang mempermudah dalam pelayanan tiketkepada pelanggan. Hasil dari perancangan aplikasi ini adalah sebuah website e-ticketing yangdapat membantu masyarakat dalam membeli tiket bus dan meminimalisir kerusakan dankehilangan pada tiket.

Internet is expected to be available every time, so that the services run on it are able to be used any time. To achieve high availability Internet network, redundancy is used by employing more than one gateway so if one gateway is down, the other gateway will take the job of it. In the access layer, we use first-hop redundancy as the redundancy system. In this research, author design a system that has first-hop redundancy. The system is designed using software defined networking paradigm. The system uses POX as controller and Openflow as Controller Data-path Protocol Interface between switches and controller. The system is simulated on the mininet to examine the capability of the system by measuring some parameters: fail over delay, resource utilization and overhead on the bipartite topology. Of the examination results and analysis, the system is able to run the first-hop redundancy which yields fail-over delay below 140 ms for single flow.

The attendance system serves as authentic proof of someone’s presence, in this instance the system is meant to account for lecturer’s presence. The current portable finger scanner attendance tool used does not yet have a system for processing data. The purpose of this study is to create a system that is able to receive, process and store data that has been sent by a portable finger scanner. The method carried out in this study was an experiment including designing hardware, software, and testing tools. The trial results show that the tool runs in accordance with the planned specifications. Data can be received through LoRa, stored in the database, and then converted into Excel format. Each mode is able to function properly, the planned distance of acceptance is achieved, and the final purpose of designing the tool is fulfilled.

After several months of work at I+D Energias, I learned about the construction process of photovoltaic farms in Poland from the perspective of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company. I had the opportunity to work with excellent people on various issues related to construction of the photovoltaic farm, mainly for communication needs. We have introduced optimization of farm monitoring & CCTV systems, which reduces costs and improves the quality of systems. The purpose of the project was to detect and define existing problems in communication needs in a scattered group of 109 photovoltaic farms in Poland of 1 MW each (43 for Energija dossier and 66 for Lords dossier). We optimised monitoring and CCTV systems, we improved the solution for the gateway to the Internet, comparing Energija and Lords dossier, and we introduced a new solution for inverter’s architecture for Lords dossier based on PLC technology, more convenient and compatible with Huawei inverters. Trust networking technology is a trust infrastructure construction technology that enables nodes with mutual trust to autonomously construct trust domains and expand them through domain interworking to block security risks. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a trust domain based trustworthy networking technology that solves the structural problems of the untrusty internet, by allowing only the communication partners with trust relationship to share the trusted communication environment and to allow limited communication.

This paper considers the relation between the role of airport as gateway (inter–intra transit airport) and the connectivity between air transport and high-speed rail (HSR) transport to discuss the possibility of a multiple gateway system with HSR. We deal with both international and domestic transport markets in the model analysis. In the international markets, only airlines compete against each other, while in the domestic market airlines and HSR compete against each other. The results suggest that the improvement of connectivity between air and HSR at the airport increases its international passengers, and therefore, that strengthens its role as gateway, for example, gathering more inter–intra transit passengers. However, the results also suggest that the demand of the area which the airport belongs to affects the role of airport as gateway.

A gateway buoy system connects a underwater network to a terrestrial network, which enables to efficiently monitor the underwater network on a land station. In this paper, we introduce an implemented gateway buoy system which relays gathered data from multiple underwater nodes to a land station in a real time. The gateway buoy hardware system is composed of a underwater acoustic modem system, a radio frequency modem system, and a gateway operating system. in additional, we have implemented a land operating program and a land monitoring program for gateway system and states of underwater network, respectively. [2] 이러한 이유로 수중 어플리케이션 의 데이터의 전달은 다수의 수중노드들이 네트워크를 구성하여 수중노드 간 다중의 홉(Multi-hop)을 통해 목적지까지 전달하거나, 이동성을 가지는 노드(AUV, Glider)들이 수중에서 음향통신을 통해 수중노드들에 게 데이터를 전달받은 후 해수면 위로 상승하여 RF를 이용해 육상국으로 전달하는 것이 일반적이다. 이 경 우 노드의 홉(hop) 증가로 인해 실시간 통신이 불가하 거나, 이동 노드들이 육상국으로 데이터를 전달하기 위해 해수면으로 반복적으로 상승해야 하므로 이동 노드들의 높은 에너지 소비가 필요하다. 따라서 이와 같은 단점을 보완하기 위한 수중-육상 간 네트워크 연계기술은 수중 어플리케이션 구현에 가장 핵심적인 요소기술이다. 수중-육상 간 네트워크 연계 기술은 수중노드들과 육상국 간 실시간 통신이 가능하도록 수중 네트워크와 육상 네트워크를 연계하 는 기술로, 네트워크 간 연계를 위한 중계노드로 게이 트웨이 부이(buoy)시스템을 사용하는 것이 일반적이 다. 게이트웨이 부이시스템은 부이 하단에는 수중노드 와의 통신을 위한 수중음향통신모뎀이, 부이 상단에는 육상국과의 통신을 위한 RF통신모뎀이 장착된 시스 템으로, 해수면에 표류하면서 수중-육상 간 네트워크 의 연계가 가능하도록 설계되어 수중-육상 간 네트워 크 기술 구현에 있어 가장 핵심적인 시스템이다. 현재 전 세계적으로 실 해역에 다수의 수중노드 를 이용하여 해저 및 광범위의 해양관측을 위한 수중 네트워크망을 구축하고 게이트웨이 부이를 중계노드 로 이용한 수중-육상 간 네트워크 연계기술 연구 및 프로젝트가 진행 중이며, 게이트웨이 부이는 수중 네 트워크망의 실시간 모니터링, 데이터 전달 등의 역할 을 수행하고 있다. 대표적인 프로젝트로는 대규모 해 양관측을 위한 GOOS(Global Ocean Observing System) , 해저 및 해양관측을 위한 OOI(Ocean Observatories Initiative), ASON(Autonomous Ocean Sampling Network) 등이 있다. 국내에서는 한국해양조사원이 다수의 수중노드가 아닌 하나의 단 일 수중 관측 노드를 통해 취득한 데이터를 해상부이 로 전달하는 시스템 을 실 해역에서 운영 중이나, 다 수의 수중노드들을 통해 취득한 수중 데이터를 육상 과 연계하여 실시간으로 모니터링 할 수 있는 시스템 은 전무하다. 따라서 다수의 수중노드로 구성된 수중 어플리케이션 구현 시 수중-육상 간 네트워크 연계가 가능하고 수중 네트워크의 효율적인 관리를 위해 수 중 네트워크의 실시간 모니터링이 가능한 게이트웨이 부이시스템 개발이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구소에서는 다수의 수중노드로 구 성된 수중 네트워크망과 육상국간 네트워크 연계시 수중-육상간 데이터 전달과 수중노드들의 네트워크 상태 모니터링이 가능한 게이트웨이 부이시스템을 개 발하였다. 개발된 게이트웨이 부이시스템은 수중음향 통신모뎀, RF통신시스템, 게이트웨이 운용시스템으로 구성되어 있으며, 게이트웨이를 중계노드로 활용하기 위한 운용소프트웨어와 육상국에서 게이트웨이 부이 에서 전송한 데이터를 분석하여 수중의 네트워크 상 태와 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 상태를 모니터링 할 수 있는 육상국 관제 소프트웨어를 구현하였다. 또한 성능 검증을 위해 실 해역에서 다수의 수중노드로 수 중 네트워크를 구축하고 개발된 게이트웨이 부이를 중계노드로 이용하여 육상국에서 수중 네트워크 및 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 상태 모니터링에 대한 동작 성능을 확인하였다. 본 논문은 다음과 같이 구성된다. 제 2장에서는 실 해역 검증을 위해 구성된 수중무선네트워크(UAC, Underwater Ad-hoc Communication)와 게이트웨이 부이에 장착된 수중음향통신모뎀에 대해 소개하고, 제 3장에서는 개발된 수중­육상 네트워크 연계용 게이트 웨이 부이시스템에 대해 소개한다. 제 4장에서는 실 해역 실험을 통한 성능검증 결과를 설명하고, 제 5장 에서 본 논문을 마무리 짓는다. II. 수중 음향 무선 통신 모뎀 및 네트워크 2.1 수중 어플리케이션 그림 1에서 보이듯이 수중 어플리케이션은 수중기 지국과 같은 고정 노드, AUV와 같이 추진력을 가진 이동 노드, 게이트웨이 부이, 육상국으로 구성된다. 수 중의 고정 노드들은 수온, 압력, 염분, 해류 등의 해양 데이터를 수집하여 주기적으로 여러 노드를 거쳐 목 적지에 전송하게 된다. 추진력을 가진 이동노드들은 주어진 명령에 따라 다른 노드들과 통신을 하면서 임 The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences '15-06 Vol.40 No.06 1202 그림 2. 수중음향통신모뎀 구성도 Fig. 2. Diagram of underwater Application 무 수행을 하거나 데이터를 취득하여 게이트웨이 부 이에 전송하거나 해수면위로 상승 후 RF 통신을 이용 하여 육상국으로 전달한다. 게이트웨이 부이는 수중노 드들을 제어하고, 수중노드들로부터 전송된 데이터를 수집하여 RF 통신을 이용하여 육상국으로 전달한다. 육상국은 수중에서 전달된 데이터 분석을 수행하며, 백본 네트워크를 통해 전 세계 인터넷 사용자들에게 분석된 데이터를 토대로 서비스를 제공한다. 2.2 수중음향통신모뎀 수중음향통신모뎀은 전자파의 감쇄가 심해 RF통신 이 불가한 수중환경에서 음파를 이용해 수중에서 통 신이 가능하게 하는 모뎀으로, 본 연구소에서는 소형 무인잠수정(AUV)에 탑재가 가능하고 3km까지 전방 향통신이 가능한 수중음향통신모뎀을 2010년에 개발 하였다. 개발된 수중음향통신모뎀은 중심주파수 25Khz에서 QPSK 변복조방식을 갖는 10kbps급의 모 뎀으로, 수중 음향 센서, 아날로그 신호 처리부 및 디 지털 신호 처리부를 포함하는 일체형의 수중음향통신 모뎀이다. 그림 2에 개발된 수중음향통신모뎀의 구성 도를 나타낸다. 2.3. 수중 애드혹 네트워크 프로토콜(UAC) UAC(Underwater Ad-hoc Communication) 프로토 콜은 본 연구소에서 수중노드간 효율적인 네트워크 구성을 위해 자체 개발한 프로토콜로 데이터 링크 계 층의 매체접속제어(Media Access Control; MAC)와 네트워크 계층의 통신 경로 설정이 하나의 프로토콜 안에서 동작하도록 설계되었다. UAC 프로토콜은 매 체접속 제어를 위해서 캐리어 센싱 다중 접속(Carrier Sensing Multiple Access;CSMA)과 통신 경로 설정 을 위한 AODV (Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector)가 하나의 알고리즘 안에서 동작하도록 설계 되었다. 송신노드가 데이터를 전송하기 전에 먼저 경 로 설정을 위해 PRP(Path Request Packet)를 플러딩 하면 전달노드는 이를 수신하여 자신의 주소를 PRP 에 기록한 후 다시 PRP를 전달하게 된다. 이러한 방 식을 통해 최종적으로 PRP를 수신한 노드는 통신 경 로를 확정하고 PAP(Path Acknowledgement Packet) 를 송신한다. 데이터 전송 시 송신노드는 먼저 캐리어 센싱을 통해 채널의 유휴상태를 알아보고 신호가 감 지되면 임의의 backoff 시간동안 기다린 후 채널이 유 휴상태로 변경되면 데이터를 전송한다. III. 수중-육상 연계용 게이트웨이 부이시스템 3.1 게이트웨이 하드웨어 시스템 수중-육상 연계용 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 몸체는 지름 500mm, 높이 900mm의 크기로 4t 강도의 알루 미늄을 사용해 제작하였고 해수면에 장시간 표류하며 운용이 가능하도록 게이트웨이 몸체에 부력제를 장착 하였다. 그림 3에 실제 제작된 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 설 계도 및 몸체가 보여진다. 게이트웨이 부이 상판에는 육상국과 통신을 위한 무선 안테나와 게이트웨이 부 이의 위치 파악을 위한 GPS 및 경광등이 설치되어 있 으며, 실 해역에서의 효율적인 운영을 고려하여 운용 시스템 전원 스위치, 배터리 충전을 위한 외부 충전 커넥터, 차후 확장성을 고려한 더미커넥터가 설치되어 있다. 하단에는 수중통신모뎀의 장착을 위한 고정 프 레임이 설치되어 있으며, 운용시스템이 탑재가 되는 내압용기는 수밀상태로 제작하였다. 또한 내압용기 내 부에 물의 유입을 방지하기 위하여 모든 외부 커넥터 들은 수중 커넥터로 설치하였다. 게이트웨이 부이는 해수면에 장시간 표류하여 운용 논문 / 수중­육상 네트워크 연계용 게이트웨이 부이시스템 개발 및 실 해역 성능 검증 1203 그림 4. 게이트웨이 운용시스템 Fig. 4. Design and making of the gateway body 되는 시스템이기 때문에 유지보수의 편의성을 위해 배터리부, 운용PC부, 무선 AP 탑재부, 전원부 및 각 종 센서 장착부의 총 네 개의 모듈로 구성하여 문제가 발생 시 해당 모듈만 교체하면 바로 운용이 가능하도 록 하였다. 그림 4에 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 운용시 스템의 구성도가 보여진다. 배터리부에는 게이트웨이 부이시스템 전원 공급을 위한 리튬폴리머 배터리(48V, 20A)가 탑재되어 있으 며, 운용 PC부에는 게이트웨이 부이시스템 운영을 위 한 PC가 탑재되어 있다. 무선 AP 탑재부에는 육상국 과의 통신을 위해 무선 AP 단말 및 CDMA 모뎀이 탑재되어 있어 수중-육상 간 네트워크 연계 구성에 따 라 선택적으로 사용할 수 있다. 게이트웨이 전원 및 센서부에는 배터리에서 공급되는 전원을 운용 PC 및 각종 센서류에 공급하기 위한 DC-DC Converter가 설 치되어 있으며 5V,24V,48V의 전압이 해당되는 시스 템에 공급된다. 또한 게이트웨이 자세정보 및 전압·전 류 상태의 실시간 모니터링을 위해 AHRS(Attitude/Heading Reference System)와 전압· 전류 측정계가 탑재되어있다. 전제 시스템의 통신 인 터페이스는 시리얼 통신으로 구성되어 있으며 그림 5 에 전체 시스템에 대한 하드웨어 구성도가 보여진다. 3.2 운용소프트웨어 운용소프트웨어는 C++ Builder를 사용하여 구현하 였으며 게이트웨이 하드웨어 설정 및 수중-육상 간 네 트워크 중계를 위한 시스템 운용소프트웨어와 육상국 에서 수중 네트워크 상태 및 게이트웨이 부이시스템 의 모니터링을 위한 육상 관제용 소프트웨어로 구성 되어 진다. 게이트웨이 부이시스템 운용소프트웨어는 게이트 웨이의 시스템 제어와 수중음향통신모뎀에서 수집된 데이터를 육상의 기지국으로 전송하는 것을 주목적으 로 하며 시스템 시작과 함께 자동으로 프로그램이 구 동된다. 육상 관제용 소프트웨어는 수중 네트워크 모 니터링 소프트웨어와 게이트웨이 상태모니터링 소프 트웨어로 구성되어 있으며 수중 네트워크 모니터링 소프트웨어는 게이트웨이에서 전송된 데이터를 실시 간으로 수신하여 수중 네트워크 상태를 모니터링하는 것을 주 목적으로 하며 수중노드의 위치 및 수중노드 들의 네트워크 구성 및 통신 상태 등을 보여준다. 그 림 6에 수중 네트워크 모니터링 소프트웨어의 GUI가 보여진다. 화면 좌측에는 구글맵과 연동하여 실제 지 도상에 수중노드의 위치 정보를 수신 받아 표시한다. 화면 우측에는 수중노드들이 전송하는 데이터를 수신 하여 표시하며 화면 하단에는 수중노드들의 네트워크 상태(경로요청, 경로 설정)와 수중노드들간 데이터 전 송 상태를 사용자가 쉽게 알아볼 수 있도록 해당방향 으로 화살표가 표시 되도록 하였다. 게이트웨이 상태모니터링 소프트웨어는 게이트웨 The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences '15-06 Vol.40 No.06 1204 그림 6. 수중 네트워크 모니터링 소프트웨어 Fig. 6. IV. 수중/육상 연계용 게이트웨이 부이시스템 실 해역 시험 결과 수중-육상 연계용 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 성능 검증을 위해서 경남 거제도 근해 진해만에서 총 2회 실 해역 실험을 수행하였다. 실 해역 실험은 선박 3대 를 사용하여 송신노드, 전달노드, 수신노드 순으로 일 렬로 배치하고 송신 전력과 수신 이득을 조정하여 송 신노드가 보내는 패킷을 수신노드가 직접적으로 수신 하지 못하도록 조정하였으며 각 선박당 장비 구성은 네트워크 PC, 수중통신시스템, 무방향 음향센서로 구 성하였다. 게이트웨이 부이시스템은 송신노드와 전달 노드 사이에 표류하도록 설치하였으며 수중 네트워크 의 모니터링을 위해 모든 노드들의 데이터를 수신할 수 있도록 수신 이득을 조정하였다. 육상국은 송신 선 박에 설치하였으며 게이트웨이와 육상국과의 데이터 전송은 무선 AP를 사용하였다. 표 1에 상세한 시험 논문 / 수중­육상 네트워크 연계용 게이트웨이 부이시스템 개발 및 실 해역 성능 검증 1205 그림 7. 수중 애드혹 네트워크 경로 설정 모니터링 결과 Fig. 7. the results of Underwater ad-hoc network monitoring 조건이 보여진다. 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 성능 검증을 위해 각 노 드들을 구성한 뒤 UAC 프로토콜을 이용한 네트워크 시험을 수행하였다. 네트워크 시험은 송신노드와 전달 노드를 거쳐 수신노드와의 통신 경로를 형성하고 데 이터 송·수신을 수행하였다. 그림 7은 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 수중 네트워크 실시간 모니터링 시험의 결과이다. 그림 7에서 보이듯 이 송신노드가 전달노드를 거쳐 수신노드에게 경로 설정을 요청하고, 수신노드는 전달노드를 거쳐 송신노 드에게 경로 설정 응답 메시지를 전송하여 송신노드 와 수신노드 간 통신 경로가 설정된 것을 성공적으로 모니터링 하였다. 또한 설정된 경로를 통해 송신노드 가 전달노드를 거쳐 수신노드와 단문 데이터 송신에 성공하였음을 확인하였다. 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 실시간 모니터링도 성공 적으로 수행되었으며 그 결과가 그림 8에 보여진다. 그림에서 보이듯이 게이트웨이 부이시스템의 위치, 전 압·전류 상태, 자세 정보 등이 육상국에서 실시간으로 수신되어 모니터링이 가능하였다.

A unidirectional security gateway is a network system in which data can travel in only one direction. Therefore, the system are used in protecting the safety and reliability of various critical infrastructures. Most of all, it has to be deployed with send and receive transceivers disconnected for one direction to ensure information security. In this paper, we introduce a unidirectional security gateway system, named UNIWAY that has a unidirectional data transfer mechanism for secure monitoring of OPC-UA data. The proposed system has the advantage of monitoring the data efficiently while protecting the OPC-UA server in the critical infrastructure.

Present IoT trust method for smart home installs security technologies and security equipment directly into each thing. But this method is practically difficult to install security technologies and security equipment on the things with limited processing power. Thus, the trust method for IoT is necessary to support the trust domain for things that constitute the IoT rather than installing security technology and security equipment for each thing. Therefore, this paper proposes a trustworthy gateway system architecture that constructs an IoT trust domain which can protect the IoT safely from the malicious attack.

In recent years, the issue of the elderly living alone is more and more serious in Taiwan; many older people with health issues need to be cared for a long time at home or home for aged. Accident prevention for the elderly is a very important issue. When people are busy with doing housework or taking a rest, we may put the elderly at risk. In this paper, we design a video streaming gateway system and a human tracking algorithm to real-time watch and track the status of the elderly who need to be cared. The gateway can decode H.264 video format transmitted from cameras and use background subtraction technique to do real time human tracking. The experimental results show that the gateway can support many cameras for real-time monitoring and human tracking.

In order to provide for the safe and expeditious passage of maritime traffic in congested waters, every country establishes, operates, and maintains Vessel Traffic Services where needed. In larger areas, a VTS will generally require a communication system to enable the vessel traffic center and the participating vessels to exchange information. There are some kinds of commercial VTS. Generally, these consists of several systems which have its own role such as operating system, video extracting and tracking system, warning and integration system, VTS logging and replaying system and so on. These are connected each other directly. In this paper, we introduce the centralized VTS which is separated by VTS Gateway System between VTS Operating System and the other subsystems. In case of VGWS, three kinds of messages are considered in the message arrival process. First is check in/check out messages which are basic as gateway. Second is VTS operating system supporting message which is always applied to all VTS operating system including VTOS user login, VTOS user environment configuration info setting and common info for VTS system and so on. Last is compulsory message transmission for VTOS logging and playback. The centralized VTS running tests show that the message processing delay of VGWS is acceptable compared to the predefined delay metric for VGWS performance.

The world's Air Traffic Control system still uses components defined in the 1940s following the 1944 meeting in Chicago which launched the creation of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) [1]. This traditional ATC system uses analog radio systems for aircraft Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS). AFTN is a good example for legacy ATC system. The major part of data message interchange is performed by the Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network, AFTN. This is a message handling network running according to ICAO Standards documented in Annex 10 to the ICAO Convention. With a history dating back to the 1950s, it was in fact the world's first large-scale message handling system. It was conceived according to the special needs of its users but also restricted by the technology available then. Today several hundred nodes located in virtually every country of the world exchange messages on links of different types and speeds using "store-and-forward" procedures. The European part of the AFTN forms an important component of this world-wide network. It handles a large volume of message traffic originating and/or terminating in Europe but also considerable transit traffic. There is one or more AFTN nodes in every European country. These legacy systems like AFTN nodes are in need of compliance to new ATM standards. To handle these compatibility problems, we offer a gateway system which handles all the protocol and message conversion between legacy and new ATC systems. Aeronautical Data Exchange Gateway (ADEGW) is a system that lays between legacy and new ATC systems to handle aeronautical data exchange in between.

It is one of key elements, which makes network high service and stability, to improve intelligent degree and automatic disaster recovery capability of access gateway system .Working state remote monitoring of access gateway, management and control technology are studied, including remote collection and analysis of gateway working state, realizing integration with management and control technology of power, solving working state real time monitoring of access gateway and automatic disaster recovery. Therefore, intelligent auto-control of access gateway system is realized. With system test, the intelligent redundancy gateway system model can improve access gateway early warning and disaster recovery ability obviously.

In this article, studying the integration relations between mobile network and DECT technology, a design scheme about Voice Gateway System is introduced. This system builds a small voice network, providing shared multi-parities talking service, for home and office.

As the application of IEC61850, the condition monitoring systems and auxiliary systems have been used in substation, and the amount of substation data becomes more and more large. In order to solve the management problems generated by large amounts of substation data, the National Dispatching Center has proposed the Direct alarm and Remote browsing techniques based on traditional remote communication device. This paper uses an embedded platform graphic gateway and uses IEC61850 to get real-time data and graphics of substation. It sends the data to D5000 system of dispatch center via DL/476, and the real-time data transmission and monitoring data refresh have reached the requirements of engineering applications and achieved good applied effect.

Complete sets of cloned protein-encoding open reading frames (ORFs), or ORFeomes, are essential tools for large-scale proteomics and systems biology studies. Here we describe human ORFeome version 3.1 (hORFeome v3.1), currently the largest publicly available resource of full-length human ORFs (available at www.openbiosystems.com). Generated by Gateway recombinational cloning, this collection contains 12,212 ORFs, representing 10,214 human genes, and corresponds to a 51% expansion of the original hORFeome v1.1. An online human ORFeome database, hORFDB, was built and serves as the central repository for all cloned human ORFs (http://horfdb.dfci.harvard.edu). This expansion of the original ORFeome resource greatly increases the potential experimental search space for large-scale proteomics studies, which will lead to the generation of more comprehensive datasets.

In this age of massive genetic and protein information, a fast and reliable method of studying in vivo protein-protein interactions is necessary. We have developed a novel system that can overcome limitations of existing assay methods. This new method adopts two existing systems for fast analysis of diverse protein-protein interactions. For rapid, large-scale cloning, we adopted the Gateway system and developed novel destination vectors containing YFP N-terminus (YN) or YFP C-terminus (YC) to visualize protein-protein interactions in vivo using bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC). Using this system, we investigated molecular interactions among the three POZ-domain regulatory proteins mAPM-1, LRF, KLHL10 that belong to a subgroup of human POZ-domain proteins, and showed that the POZ-domains of mAPM-1, LRF and KLHL10 could form both homodimers and heterodimers. This new method is a highly efficient, sensitive and specific assay method for protein-protein interaction in vivo.

As the shipborne system becomes more complex by integrating more shipborne equipment through a network, the safety and security for the navigational system becomes an important issue. In this paper, we address some design challenges and issues for the design of safe navigational networks including cyber security. In addition, we introduce the safety and security system for navigational networks. Finally, we implement a security shipborne gateway system to interconnect with safe and secure navigational networks.

The European population is becoming older and older, causing AT and AAL topics to become more and more important. A ZigBee based low-cost home automation system named CARDEA has been developed at the University of Parma, with the aim to permit elderly people to live their lives autonomously and independently. In this paper is presented a new feature: a gateway monitoring system which allows to detect crossing of a doorway or a predefined gateway and, if the person is carrying a wearable ZigBee sensor, to identify he/she. This technology could be helpful to control movements of a not completely self-sufficient person, to supervise the access to a particular location or to keep track of the person’s habits to possibly relate them to his/her health state.

We present here three expression plasmids for Trypanosoma cruzi adapted to the Gateway® recombination cloning system. Two of these plasmids were designed to express trypanosomal proteins fused to a double tag for tandem affinity purification (TAPtag). The TAPtag and Gateway® cassette were introduced into an episomal (pTEX) and an integrative (pTREX) plasmid. Both plasmids were assayed by introducing green fluorescent protein (GFP) by recombination and the integrity of the double-tagged protein was determined by western blotting and immunofluorescence microscopy. The third Gateway adapted vector assayed was the inducible pTcINDEX. When tested with GFP, pTcINDEX-GW showed a good response to tetracycline, being less leaky than its precursor (pTcINDEX). Open gate is a user authentication gateway system for network in the environment opened to public. This system has been operating for controlling the campus-wide open network in Saga University since 2001. In this research, we propose to implement hOpengateh onto next-generation network hOpen Flowh and show how to distribute the load by access.

In India, the rural teledensity is just 37% and there are a large number of villages which do not have cellular coverage to this day but many such villages are only a few km away from the cellular coverage. Exploiting these cellular points near villages, we present a low cost and low power gateway system to extend the cellular coverage into the rural areas. Specifically, we develop and demonstrate a low cost, low power 802.15.4 gateway which can connect a number of villages in its vicinity to the cellular backhaul. In prior work, we designed a low cost, low power, local voice (called as Lo3) system using 802.15.4 technology. Lo3 system enabled villagers inside a village to communicate with each other. In this demo, we show that, using the gateway node, the 802.15.4 handsets of Lo3 system enable villagers to establish real-time voice calls from/to the village to/from the outside world. We test deployed our system in Ahupe village near Mumbai, India for 18 hours over 3 days, and received positive response from the villagers.

E-mail system is one of the most popular and easy-to-use communication tools on the Internet. In these days, many people have more than one e-mail address. While automatic e-mail forwarding mechanism is useful under such situation, it has a serious problem during forwarding procedures. If user changes his/her own e-mail address that is a forwarding destination address and leaves forward settings untouched on the original destination e-mail server, then forwarded e-mails lose their way and cause a pile of error notification e-mails. This is often the case with some kind of e-mail addresses such as for mobile phones. Since an error notification e-mail only goes to the original sender and administrators of related e-mail servers, the original receiver would not be aware of the error. This paper describes a system to solve this problem.

Metallic equipment and objects require special attention for identification in a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system, due to their interference negative effects. This paper presents an application of ultra-high frequency RFID in a gateway configuration, used to identify metallic equipment. The main purpose of the proposed system is to identify items with metallic content and regardless of their position when passing through the gateway. The UHF (Ultra High Frequency) RFID technology with passive tagging was implemented. Different tagging configurations were tested and results for each configuration are presented.

The EUROPAGATE project aims to construct a gateway system which will allow end users of library catalogue servers to access servers which are based on different protocols, and to provide a service using electronic mail to those users who would otherwise be unable to access the catalogues. It will also provide value‐added services such as data format conversion.
