The computation of the domination-type parameters is a challenging problem in Cartesian product graphs. We present an algorithmic method to compute the $2$-domination number of the Cartesian product of a path with small order and any cycle, involving the $(\min,+)$ matrix product. We establish some theoretical results that provide the algorithms necessary to compute that parameter, and the main challenge to run such algorithms comes from the large size of the matrices used, which makes it necessary to improve the techniques to handle these objects. We analyze the performance of the algorithms on modern multicore CPUs and on GPUs and we show the advantages over the sequential implementation. The use of these platforms allows us to compute the $2$-domination number of cylinders such that their paths have at most $12$ vertices.

The Roman domination in a graph $G$ is a variant of the classical domination, defined by means of a so-called Roman domination function $f\colon V(G)\to \{0,1,2\}$ such that if $f(v)=0$ then, the vertex $v$ is adjacent to at least one vertex $w$ with $f(w)=2$. The weight $f(G)$ of a Roman dominating function of $G$ is the sum of the weights of all vertices of $G$, that is, $f(G)=\sum_{u\in V(G)}f(u)$. The Roman domination number $\gamma_R(G)$ is the minimum weight of a Roman dominating function of $G$. In this paper we propose algorithms to compute this parameter involving the $(\min,+)$ powers of large matrices with high computational requirements and the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) allows us to accelerate such operations. Specific routines have been developed to efficiently compute the $(\min ,+)$ product on GPU architecture, taking advantage of its computational power. These algorithms allow us to compute the Roman domination number of cylindrical graphs $P_m\Box C_n$ i.e., the Cartesian product of a path and a cycle, in cases $m=7,8,9$, $ n\geq 3$ and $m\geq $10$, n\equiv 0\pmod 5$. Moreover, we provide a lower bound for the remaining cases $m\geq 10, n\not\equiv 0\pmod 5$.

Domination-type parameters are difficult to manage in Cartesian product graphs and there is usually no general relationship between the parameter in both factors and in the product graph. This is the situation of the domination number, the Roman domination number or the $2$-domination number, among others. Contrary to what happens with the domination number and the Roman domination number, the $2$-domination number remains unknown in cylinders, that is, the Cartesian product of a cycle and a path and in this paper, we will compute this parameter in the cylinders with small cycles. We will develop two algorithms involving the $(\min,+)$ matrix product that will allow us to compute the desired values of $\gamma_2(C_n\Box P_m)$, with $3\leq n\leq 15$ and $m\geq 2$. We develop a method to determine accurately the binding energy of the X(3872) from lattice data for the DD* interaction. We show that, because of the small difference between the neutral and charged components of the X(3872), it is necessary to distinguish them in the energy levels of the lattice spectrum if one wishes to have a precise determination of the the binding energy of the X(3872). The analysis of the data requires the use of coupled channels. We study the effect of a hidden charm nuclear excited state $N^*_{c\bar{c}}$ in the $\pi^- p \to D^- \Sigma_c^+$ reaction near threshold using an effective Lagrangian approach. We calculate the background contribution of the $t$ and $u$ channels by the $D^{*0}$ vector meson exchange and $\Sigma_c^{++}$ intermediate state, respectively. We show that the consideration of a $N^*_{c\bar{c}}$ resonance provides an enhancement of the total cross section close to the reaction threshold. We also evaluate the differential cross section for different energies and we study the angle dependence. We study the meson-baryon interaction with $J^P=1/2^-$ using the hidden-gauge Lagrangians and mixing pseudoscalar meson-baryon with the vector meson-baryon states in a coupled channels scheme with $\pi N$, $\eta N$, $K\Lambda$, $K\Sigma$, $\rho N$ and $\pi \Delta$ (d-wave). We fit the subtraction constants of each channel to the $S_{11}$ partial wave amplitude of the $\pi N$ scattering data extracted from experimental data. We find two poles that we associate to the $N^*(1535)$ and the $N^*(1650)$ resonances and show that the subtraction constants are all negative and of natural size. We calculate the branching ratios for the different channels of each resonance and we find a good agreement with the experimental data. The cross section for the $\pi^- p \to \eta n$ scattering is also evaluated and compared with experiment.

Using an interaction extracted from the local hidden gauge Lagrangians, which brings together vector and pseudoscalar mesons, and the coupled channels $\rho N$ (s-wave), $\pi N$ (d-wave), $\pi \Delta$ (s-wave) and $\pi \Delta$ (d-wave), we look in the region of $\sqrt s =1400-1850$ MeV and we find two resonances dynamically generated by the interaction of these channels, which are naturally associated to the $N^*(1520) (3/2^-)$ and $N^*(1700) (3/2^-)$. The $N^*(1700) (3/2^-)$ appears neatly as a pole in the complex plane. The free parameters of the theory are chosen to fit the $\pi N$ (d-wave) data. Both the real and imaginary parts of the $\pi N$ amplitude vanish in our approach in the vicinity of this resonance, similarly to what happens in experimental determinations, what makes this signal very weak in this channel. This feature could explain why this resonance does not show up in some experimental analyses, but the situation is analogous to that of the $f_0(980)$ resonance, the second scalar meson after the $\sigma (f_0(500))$ in the $\pi \pi$(d-wave) amplitude. The unitary coupled channel approach followed here, in connection with the experimental data, leads automatically to a pole in the 1700 MeV region and makes this second $3/2^-$ resonance unavoidable.

After some short introductory remarks on particular issues on the vector mesons in nuclei, in this paper we present a short review of recent developments concerning the interaction of vector mesons with baryons and with nuclei from a modern perspective using the local hidden gauge formalism for the interaction of vector mesons. We present results for the vector baryon interaction and in particular for the resonances which appear as composite states, dynamically generated from the interaction of vector mesons with baryons, taking also the mixing of these states with pseudoscalars and baryons into account. We then venture into the charm sector, reporting on hidden charm baryon states around 4400 MeV, generated from the interaction of vector mesons and baryons with charm, which have a strong repercussion on the properties of the $J/\Psi N$ interaction. We also address the interaction of $K^*$ with nuclei and make suggestions to measure the predicted huge width in the medium by means of the transparency ratio. The formalism is extended to study the phenomenon of $J/\psi$ suppression in nuclei via $J/\psi$ photoproduction reactions., Comment: Short review paper, (18 pages)

In this talk we present a short review of recent developments concerning the interaction of vector mesons with baryons and with nuclei. We begin with the hidden gauge formalism for the interaction of vector mesons, then review results for vector baryon interaction and in particular the resonances which appear as composite states, dynamically generated from the interaction of vector mesons with baryons. New developments concerning the mixing of these states with pseudoscalars and baryons are also reported. We include some discussion on the $5/2^+$ $\Delta$ resonances around 2000 MeV, where we suggest that the $\Delta(2000)5/2^+$ resonance, which comes in the PDG from averaging a set of resonances appearing around 1700 MeV and another one around 2200 MeV, corresponds indeed to two distinct resonances. We also report on a hidden charm baryon state around 4400 MeV coming from the interaction of vector mesons and baryons with charm, and how this state has some repercussion in the $J/\psi$ suppression in nuclei. The interaction of $K^*$ in nuclei is also reported and suggestions are made to measure by means of the transparency ratio the huge width in the medium that the theoretical calculations predict. We study the interaction of vector mesons with the octet of stable baryons in the framework of the local hidden gauge formalism using a coupled channels unitary approach, including also the pseudoscalar-baryon channels which couple to the same quantum numbers. We examine the scattering amplitudes and their poles, which can be associated to known $J^P=1/2^-,3/2^-$ baryon resonances, and determine the role of the pseudoscalar-baryon channels, changing the width and eventually the mass of the resonances generated with only the basis of vector-baryon states.

As an example of dynamically generated resonances we mention the interaction of vector mesons with baryons within the local hidden gauge formalism which gives rise to a large amount of such states, many of which can be associated to known resonances, while others represent predictions for new resonances. The width of these states coming from decay into pseudoscalar baryon is also addressed. We also mention recent states coming from $\Delta \rho \pi$ interaction obtained with Faddeev equations.

The Fixed Center Approximation to the Faddeev equations (FCA) has been used lately with success in the study of bound systems of three hadrons. It is also important to set the limits of the approach in those problems to prevent proliferation of inaccurate predictions. In this paper we study the case of the $\phi(2170)$, which has been described by means of Faddeev equations as a resonant state of $\phi$ and $K \bar{K}$, and show the problems derived from the use of the FCA in its study. At the same time we also expose the limitations of an alternative approach recently proposed.

We present recent results on the vector meson-vector meson and vector meson-baryon interaction using a unitary approach based on the hidden-gauge Lagrangians. For the vector-vector case we find that 11 states get dynamically generated, corresponding to poles of the scattering matrices on the second Riemann sheet. In the vector-baryon sector we also find 9 states dynamically generated from the vector-baryon octet interaction and 10 from the vector-baryon decuplet interaction. We study the radiative decay into $\gamma$ and a baryon of the SU(3) octet and decuplet of nine and ten resonances that are dynamically generated from the interaction of vector mesons with baryons of the octet and the decuplet respectively. We obtain quite different partial decay widths for the various resonances, and for different charge states of the same resonance, suggesting that the experimental investigation of these radiative decays should bring much information on the nature of these resonances.
