Este artículo presenta una detallada descripción codicológica de cinco manuscritos de las Tragedias de Séneca que alberga la Real Biblioteca del Escorial: M III 16 (H); M III 25 (m); N III 6 (O); N III 25(q) y T III 11(S). Todos son de origen italiano y fueron escritos en los siglos XIV y XV. La colación de los cinco Coros de Oedipus y la edición revela que descienden de la rama A y que algunas lecturas propias son compartidas con otros recentiores, que están en el grupo AE. El ms. S omite todos los versos que están ausentes en A y está libre de la influencia de la rama E. Los mss. H q están menos contaminados porque omiten los versos de Oed. 430-471 y m O están profundamente contaminados con la rama E. This article presents a detailed codex description of five manuscripts of Seneca’s Tragedies housed in El Escorial Royal Library: M III 16 (H); M III 25 (m); N III 6 (O); N III 25(q) y T III 11(S). All of them are of Italian origin and were written in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The collation of the five choruses of Oedipus and their edition prove their origin from branch A and that some significant readings are shared by other recentiores that are in group AE. Ms. S omits all the verses missing in A and is free from the influence of branch E. Mss. H q are less contaminated because they omit verses Oed. 430-471, and m O are heavily contaminated with branch E.

Este artículo presenta una detallada descripción codicológica del manuscrito 69 de la Biblioteca de la Universidad de Salamanca de las Tragedias de Séneca. Trascribimos el coro primero, versos 125-205 del Hercules furens (f.1r-1v). Se destaca la singularidad de este códice en la transmisión manuscrita, pues, a pesar de pertenecer a la familia A, ofrece completo el coro primero de la mencionada tragedia. This article presents a detailed codicologic description of the manuscript BUS 69 of the Tragedies of Seneca. Is transcribes the first chorus, verses 125-205, of Hercules furens (f.1r-1v). We offer a brief reference to the and we emphasize the importance of this codex in the manuscript transmission that in spite of belonging to the family A, offers us the first complete chorus of mentioned tragedy.

The present work gathers the most significant texts of four tragedies of Seneca: Oedipus, Phoenissae, Agamemnon and Thyestes, which allow us to plan the path of the legendary facts that form a part of the saga of the Labdacids and that of the Pelopids. We analyze the imitation that Seneca does of the Greek theatre and we confirme the originality of the Latin theatre, with regard to the Greek, specially by the profuse utilization that he does of the mythology. El presente trabajo recoge los textos más significativos de cuatro tragedias de Séneca: Edipo, Fenicias, Agamenón y Tiestes, que nos permiten trazar la trayectoria de los hechos legendarios que forman parte de la saga de los Labdácidas y la de los Pelópidas. Analizamos la imitación que Séneca hace del teatro griego y confirmamos la originalidad del teatro latino, respecto al griego, especialmente por la profusa utilización que hace de la mitología.
