IntroductionAs the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) gains popularity among Chinese young people, it has undergone a gradual transition from being perceived as a personality assessment tool to being regarded as a social label. The objective of this study was to ascertain whether the use of the MBTI as a social label has an impact on social anxiety among Chinese youth groups.MethodsA questionnaire survey was conducted on social media platforms to recruit Chinese youth aged 18 to 35. A total of 247 males and 222 females participated in the study, and the data was analyzed quantitatively using SPSS software and the Process macro plugin.ResultsThe study found no strong correlation between MBTI as a social label and social anxiety. Moreover, this study introduced ego identity, belonging, and impression management as mediating variables and found that, under the influence of ego identity and impression management, the use of MBTI has a significant impact on social anxiety.DiscussionThe research reveals the complex role of MBTI among Chinese youth and provides a new perspective for understanding the impact of online social labels on the mental health of youth groups. Of course, this study also has limitations in terms of sample size and variable control. Future research should expand the sample size, introduce more potential influencing factors, and further validate and expand the existing conclusions.

Objective The specific association between morphometric characteristics of the syrinx and the prognosis of Chiari malformation type I (CM-I) with syringomyelia following surgical procedure seems to have not been fully elaborated. This study focused on the preoperative clinical and radiologic parameters in CM-I patients with syringomyelia to find out the relationship between the patients’ clinical status and the phenotypes of the syrinx with surgical outcome. Methods A continuous series of pediatric and adult patients with CM-I and syringomyelia from a prospectively maintained database in a single center were included, and we explored the related factors affecting the prognosis following decompression surgery through retrospective analysis of clinical presentations, imaging characteristics, and the morphological features of syringomyelia, to provide a clinical reference for the treatment of syringomyelia. Results There were 28 pediatric patients (13.8%), and 174 adults (86.2%) included in our study. The average Chicago Chiari Outcome Scale score was 14.56±1.78. The overall prognosis after surgery was good in our series, among them 152 cases (75.25%) with a favorable prognosis, and syrinx was resolved effectively in 172 cases (85.15%). According to the univariate and multivariate analyses, the preoperative symptom duration, observation time, and with/without moniliform type were independent factors affecting the prognosis in adults. The most obvious difference between moniliform type and nonmoniliform type lies in the preoperative symptom duration, ventral subarachnoid space at the foramen magnum, and with/without straightened cervical physio-curve. Conclusion Timely decompression surgery could achieve a better outcome in CM-I patients with syringomyelia. Moniliform syringomyelia may suggest a relatively better prognosis.

Background Although the pedometer- and accelerometer-based interventions (PABI) have demonstrated efficacy in improving physical activity (PA) and health-related outcomes, the dearth of empirical evidence in college students warrants further investigation. Objective This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to examine the effects of PABI on improving PA and health-related outcomes among college students. Methods PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, and PsycINFO were searched for relevant literature from inception to 20 February 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) conducted among college students with PABI to increase objectively measured PA as the primary outcome were included in this study. Results A total of nine RCTs with 527 participants were included in this study. The combined results showed that PABI significantly improved PA (standardized mean difference = 0.41, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.08, 0.74, P = 0.016) and significantly contributed to weight loss (mean differences (MD) = −1.56 kg, 95% CI: −2.40 kg, −0.73 kg, P

Mitochondrial myopathy, encephalopathy, lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes (MELAS) syndrome presents with the features of herpes simplex encephalitis (HSE), which is rare and has been described in only a few case reports. Our case describes a 17-year-old female with no significant previous medical history presenting with an acute onset of fever, headache, and epilepsy, similar to HSE. Computed tomography of the brain showed bilateral basal ganglia calcification. Magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated gyriform restricted diffusion with T2-weighted images prolongation. Further investigation showed elevated blood lactate concentration at rest. Hence, MELAS was suspected and the diagnosis was confirmed by the presence of a nucleotide 3243 A→G mutation in the mitochondrial DNA. The clinical presentation and imaging studies of MELAS are variable and may mimic those of HSE. Infection may have also precipitated MELAS manifestation in this patient. Laboratory features, such as elevated lactate, basal ganglia calcification, and gyriform restricted diffusion may be helpful in identifying patients with MELAS.

Ependymoma is the third most common pediatric primary brain tumor, with its most aggressive subtype being posterior fossa group A (PFA). Extraneural metastasis of pediatric PFA ependymoma is rare. Herein, we present a case of a 9-year-old girl with PFA ependymoma characterized by a lack of trimethylation of histone H3 at lysine 27 and elevated chromosome X open reading frame 67 expression. Despite multiple surgeries and radiotherapies, the patient had a rapid recurrence and developed osseous and pulmonary metastases, which may be attributed to the homozygous deletion of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor 2A/B and CDK12 mutation. Importantly, the CDK12 mutation observed in the patient may be indicative of the need for further work-up to consider chemotherapy rather than administering poly (adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase inhibitors. Taken together, this is the first report of pediatric PFA ependymoma with extraneural metastases, wherein we clarified the diagnostic procedures of this newly identified PFA ependymoma and provided new cues to study the invasiveness of this disease and treatment selection for such patients.

The reaction of uranyl nitrate with terephthalic acid (H2TP) under hydrothermal conditions in the presence of an organic base, 1,3-(4,4'-bispyridyl)propane (BPP) or 4,4'-bipyridine (BPY), provided four uranyl terephthalate compounds with different entangled structures by a pH-tuning method. [UO2(TP)1.5](H2BPP)0.5·2H2O (1) obtained in a relatively acidic solution (final aqueous pH, 4.28) crystallizes in the form of a noninterpenetrated honeycomb-like two-dimensional network structure. An elevation of the solution pH (final pH, 5.21) promotes the formation of a dimeric uranyl-mediated polycatenated framework, [(UO2)2(μ-OH)2(TP)2]2(H2BPP)2·4.5H2O (2). Another new polycatenated framework with a monomeric uranyl unit, [(UO2)2(TP)3](H2BPP) (3), begins to emerge as a minor accompanying product of 2 when the pH is increased up to 6.61, and turns out to be a significant product at pH 7.00. When more rigid but small-size BPY molecules replace BPP molecules, [UO2(TP)1.5](H2BPP)0.5 (4) with a polycatenated framework similar to 3 was obtained in a relatively acidic solution (final pH, 4.81). The successful preparation of 2-4 represents the first report of uranyl-organic polycatenated frameworks derived from a simple H2TP linker. A direct comparison between these polycatenated frameworks and previously reported uranyl terephthalate compounds suggests that the template and cavity-filling effects of organic bases (such as BPP or BPY), in combination with specific hydrothermal conditions, promote the formation of uranyl terephthalate polycatenated frameworks.

ABSTRACT: Many large and super-large copper deposits have been discovered and explored in the Tibet Plateau, which makes it the most important copper resource reserve and development base in China. Based on the work of the research team, the paper summarizes the geological characteristics of the main copper deposits in Tibet and puts forward a further prospecting direction. A series of large accumulated metal deposits or ore districts from subduction of Tethys oceanic crust to India-Asia collisionhave been discovered, such as Duolong Cu (Au) ore district and Jiama copper polymetallic deposit. The ore deposits in the Duolong ore district are located in the lowstand domain, the top of lowstand domain, and the highstand domain of the same magmatic-hydrothermal metallogenic system, and their relative positions are the indicators for related deposits in the Bangong Co-Nujiang metallogenic belt. The polycentric metallogenic model of the Jiama copper polymetallic deposit is an important inspiration for the exploration of the porphyry mineralization related to collision orogeny. Further mineral exploration in the Tibet Plateau should be focused on the continental volcanic rocks related to porphyry-epithermal deposits, orogenic gold deposits, hydrothermal Pb-Zn deposits related to nappe structures, skarn Cu (Au) and polymetallic deposits, and the Miocene W-Sn polymetallic deposits.©2021 China Geology Editorial Office.

Fire is one of the biggest threats to the safety of utility tunnels, and establishing camera-based monitoring systems is conducive to early fire finding and better understanding of the evolution of tunnel fires. However, conventional monitoring systems are being faced with the challenge of high energy consumption. In this paper, the camera operation in a utility tunnel was optimized considering both fire risk and energy consumption. Three design variables were investigated, namely the camera sight, the number of cameras in simultaneous operation, and the duration of camera operation. Cellular automata were used as a simple but effective method to simulate the spread of fire in a utility tunnel. Results show that as the number of cameras in simultaneous operation increases, the probability of fire capture also increases, but the energy consumption decreases. A shorter duration of camera operation can lead to a higher probability of fire capture, and meanwhile, lower energy consumption. For the duration of camera operation shorter than or equal to the allowable time, the probability of fire capture is significantly higher than that for the duration longer than the allowable time. Increasing the camera sight will significantly increase the probability of fire capture and lower the total energy consumption when a blind monitoring area exists. The total energy consumption of a camera-based monitoring system roughly satisfies hyperbolic correlation with the duration of camera operation, while the probability of fire capture can be predicted based on the number of cameras in simultaneous operation through a power model. The optimal design for the modeled tunnel section is two cameras in simultaneous operation with a tangent monitoring area. The duration of camera operation should be as short as possible, at least shorter than the allowable time. The study is expected to provide a reference for the sustainable design of energy-saving utility tunnels with lower fire risk. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To explore the value of hybrid surgery in children with cerebral arteriovenous malformation (CAVM). Methods Nineteen cases of pediatric CAVM from December 2015 to December 2019 were included. After the preoperative enhanced MRI and CTA, MRA or DSA examination confirmed the diagnosis, the hybrid surgery (craniotomy combined with endovascular embolization and intraoperative real⁃time DSA) were performed. Operative time, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stays and perioperative complications were recorded. The modified Rankin Scale (mRS) was used to evaluate prognosis 6 months later after surgery. Results In 19 CAVM cases, 2 cases were Spetzler ⁃ Martin grade Ⅰ, 5 cases were grade Ⅱ, 7 cases were grade Ⅲ and 5 cases were grade Ⅳ, and 4 cases dense type, 4 cases intermediate type and 11 cases diffuse type. The average operative time was (307.21 ± 115.64) min and intraoperative blood loss was 150 (100, 260) ml. Intraoperative endovascular embolization was performed in one case, the DSA after CAVM resection revealed 3 cases with residual malformations, and the final DSA cure rate was 100% (19/19). One patient presented with transient nominal aphasia, one with left limb hemiplegia, one with pulmonary infection, and one with epileptic seizure. Average hospital stays was (15.74 ± 5.04) d, followed ⁃ up time was 32 (20, 40) months. Sixteen patients had good prognosis (mRS score < 2), and 3 patients had poor prognosis (mRS score ≥ 2). There were no cases of rebleeding or recurrence. Conclusions Hybrid surgery can safely and effectively improve the cure rate of CAVM in children, especially for children with complex structure and diffuse type or with previous treatment. Objective To investigate the changes in serum growth hormone (GH), testosterone, and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) during low-intensity resistance exercise under different cuff pressures. Methods We performed a single-blind, cross-over design study. Twenty-five healthy young men performed three exercise protocols as follows: 1) no blood flow restriction exercise (control group), 2) resistance exercise at 40% of arterial occlusion pressure (AOP) (low group), and 3) resistance exercise at 70% of AOP (high group). Blood lactate, GH, testosterone, and IGF-1 levels were measured at four time points. Results There were no differences in the indices before exercise. The blood flow restriction exercise under different pressures had different effects on each index and there was an interactive effect. GH levels were significantly higher in the high group than in the other groups after exercise. Immediately after exercise, IGF-1 and testosterone levels were significantly higher in the high group than in the other groups. At 15 minutes after exercise, testosterone levels were significantly higher in the high group than in the other groups. Conclusions Low-intensity resistance exercise combined with blood flow restriction effectively increases GH, IGF-1, and testosterone levels in young men. Increasing the cuff pressure results in greater levels of hormone secretion.

Background: Eating disorders (EDs) have become a global public health concern among adolescents and young adults. However, Chinese university students exhibit a high prevalence of eating disorders. This study aims to investigate the effects of self-esteem (SE) and body shape (BS) on ED behaviors among Chinese university students. Methods: Using random sampling, 946 Chinese university students (aged 18 to 24, M = 19.94, SD = 1.04) participated in a survey comprising the Sick, Control, One, Fat, and Food Questionnaire (SCOFF-Q), the Body Shape Questionnaire (BS-Q), and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RS-S) to assess their eating disorder or non-eating disorder (NED) behavior. Results: There was a significant positive correlation between body shape and eating disorder behaviors (r = 0.19, p < 0.01), while there was a significant negative correlation between self-esteem and eating disorder behaviors (r = −0.14, p = 0.001 < 0.01). Gender was a moderating factor in the relationship between body shape and eating disorder behaviors (t = 3.14, p = 0.002 < 0.01), while parents' marital status was a moderating factor in the relationship between self-esteem and eating disorder behavior (t = 2.72, p = 0.007 < 0.01). Body shape (z = 6.47, p = 0.001 < 0.01), self-esteem (z = −2.81, p = 0.005 < 0.05), and gender (z = 3.06, p = 0.002 < 0.01) significantly influenced eating disorder behavior among Chinese university students aged 18–24 years. Conclusions: There was a direct effect between body shape and self-esteem and eating disorder behaviors among Chinese university students aged 18–24 years. Alarmingly, female university students are becoming susceptible to external influences on self-esteem and body shape, leading to eating disorder behaviors at an increasingly younger age in China. Abstract Background Ectothermic animals living in cold (high latitude or high elevation) regions are predicted to grow slower due to limited thermal opportunities for activity and food resources than those living in warm regions. However, the Qinghai toad-headed lizards (Phrynocephalus vlangalii) grow faster and reach a larger adult size at a high-elevation site than at a low-elevation site. In this study, we aimed to identify the genetic and environmental causes of this between-population difference in growth rate by conducting mark-recapture and common garden experiments on juvenile growth rate, and investigating the thermal environment, lizard body temperature, potential prey availability at the two elevation sites. Results Compared with low-elevation individuals, high-elevation juvenile lizards had higher growth rates in the field, but grew at similar rates in the laboratory. High-elevation lizards had higher active body temperatures than low-elevation lizards despite similar air temperatures in the period of field investigation. The high-elevation site had relatively more and larger preys than the low-elevation site. Conclusions Inter-population difference in growth rate of P. vlangalii may primarily result from developmental plasticity in response to the difference in environmental resources, rather than genetic differentiation. The higher growth rate of high-elevation lizards is likely associated with higher potential food availability and higher active body temperatures.

Study Design Retrospective study. Purpose To evaluate the outcome of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic lumbar surgery (PTELS) and to evaluate the efficacy of this technique in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH) and lumbar spine stenosis (LSS) in >60-year-old patients. Overview of Literature There has been number of studies done in aspect of PTELS. All those studies focused on overall clinical aspect with no any age specific analysis. This articles deals with the patient >60 years old with low back pain (LBP) treated with the PTELS. This study provides the details of clinical outcome after the surgery in those age group. Methods We retrospectively studied 77 patients aged >60 years; out of these, 45 patients presented with LDH and 22 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis who underwent PTELS. Results The mean age of the patients who underwent the surgery was 68.33±6.97 years and the mean duration of the surgery and the postoperative duration of hospitalization were 87.31±24.746 minutes and 79±2.711 days, respectively. Abstract Studies on elevational gradients in biodiversity have accumulated in recent decades. However, few studies have compared the elevational patterns of diversity between the different slopes of a single mountain. We investigated the elevational distribution of rodent diversity (alpha and beta diversity) and its underlying mechanisms along the southern and northern slopes of Mt. Taibai, the highest mountain in the Qinling Mountains, China. The species richness of rodents on the two slopes showed distinct distribution patterns, with a monotonically decreasing pattern found along the southern slope and a hump-shaped elevational pattern evident along the northern slope. Multi-model inference suggested that temperature was an important explanatory factor for the richness pattern along the southern slope, and the mid-domain effect (MDE) was important in explaining the richness pattern along the northern slope. The two slopes also greatly differed in the elevational patterns of species turnover, with the southern slope demonstrating a U-shaped curve and the northern slope possessing a roughly hump-shaped pattern. Our results suggest that even within the same mountain, organisms inhabiting different slopes may possess distinct diversity patterns, and the underlying mechanisms may also differ. The potential role of the factors associated with slope aspect in shaping diversity, therefore, cannot be ignored.

Abstract The Qinling Mountains of China provide an excellent study area for assessing the effect of Pleistocene climatic oscillations and paleogeological events on intraspecific diversification. To assess genetic diversity of an endemic stream salamander, Batrachuperus tibetanus, for its conservation, a phylogeographical survey was performed based on mitochondrial DNA and morphological data. The mitochondrial data revealed three lineages of B. tibetanus in the Qinling Mountains. A lineage present in the northwestern Qinling Mountains groups with the Tibet lineage of B. tibetanus, and the remaining Qinling populations are eastern and western lineages that separated ~3–4 million years ago (Ma). The eastern and western Qinling lineage delineation is supported by three morphological variables (snout length, eye diameter and axilla-groin length). The divergence of the two major lineages was likely caused by orogenesis of the Qinling Mountains during the late Cenozoic, and the two lineages were subsequently affected at different levels by Pleistocene climatic oscillations showing different signals of demographic expansion. A large suitable area of B. tibetanus through the Qinling Mountains since the last glacial maximum (LGM) indicated the adaptation of this species to the climatic changes. However, low genetic diversity within populations indicate the urgency of preserving the vulnerable populations and endemic lineages.

In this work, Al-17.0Cu-8.0 Mg-1.5Ni an active brazing alloy is designed for brazing third-generation electronic packaging material 55 vol. % SiCp/ZL102 composites. SEM investigation showed that the foil filler prepared by melt spinning technology has smaller grains. The average measured grain size near the roller surface was about 98 ± 3 nm, and the average grain size on the free surface was about 115 ± 2 nm. The chemical potential of foil filler metal was much higher than that of as-cast filler metal and had a higher surface free energy and lower melting point. The interface of the brazed joint was continuous, uniform and dense, and the black oxide layer disappeared at a brazing temperature of 580 °C for 30 min. The maximum shear strength value of the brazed joint was 92 ± 2 MPa, and the air tightness was 2.0 × 10–10 Pa·m3/s, in line with phased array radar T/R module box packaging requirements. The SEM and EDS of the fracture shown that there were a large number of shear lips, as well as massive particles and extended cracks. The fracture type of brazed joint was brittle fracture.
