Background: Electroacupuncture (EA) has been demonstrated to be efficacious and safe in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA), yet the optimal current intensity for pain control in KOA remains unspecified. The present meta-analysis aimed to compare the effects of high-intensity and low-intensity EA in terms of pain relief and functional improvement in KOA. Methods: A thorough and comprehensive literature search for randomized controlled trials (RCTs), all looking at the intensity of EA for KOA, was carried out in PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), China Science Journal Citation Report (VIP) and Wanfang database, as well as ClinicalTrials.gov. All databases were searched from their inception until April 2022. Study quality was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias (RoB)2 tool. Finally, a meta-analysis of all eligible RCTs was performed using Review Manager 5.3. Results: Three studies with 472 individuals were included in the meta-analysis. The pain intensity reductions were significantly different between the high-intensity EA group and low-intensity EA group (mean difference (MD) = −0.22, 95% confidence interval (CI) = −0.26 to −0.18, p < 0.00001). There was no significant difference between the two groups in the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) scores (MD = −3.62, 95% CI = −12.22 to 4.98, p = 0.41). High-intensity EA significantly improved emotional scale (ES) scores compared to low-intensity EA (MD = −0.72, 95% CI = −0.76 to −0.67, p < 0.00001). Conclusion: The findings of this systematic review and meta-analysis indicated that high-intensity EA provides superior pain relief and has a bigger impact on emotional scale scores in patients with KOA. Objective To explore the mechanism of miR-183 regulating mitochondrial autophagy in hypoxia/reoxygenated(H/R) hippocampal neurons. Methods The mouse hippocampal neuron HT-22 cells were collected and divided into control group, hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R) model group (HR group), miR-183 over-expression group (miR-183 mimics group), and negative control group (miR-183 NC group). The anoxia and reoxygenation models were established by the method of anoxia 3 h+reoxygenation for 12 h, miR-183 mimics group and miR-183 NC group were transfected with miR-183 mimics and miR-183 NC on the basis of HR group. The survival rate of HT-22 cells was measured by MTT method, the ultra structure of mitochondria was microscopied and the levels of miR-183 and mitochondrial autophagy related genes Bnip3l mRNA were detected by RT-qPCR; Western blot was used to detect the expression of autophagy related proteins Bnip3l, beclin-1, ubiquitin and LC3 binding protein p62 (p62), microtubule related protein light chain 3 (LC3-Ⅱ)/LC3-Ⅰ. The targeting relationship between miR-183 and Bnip3l was verified by double Luciferase Report. Results Compared with control group, the autophagy of membrane structure in HT-22 cells increased in HR group and miR-183nc group, and melanin remained after autophagy, cell survival rate, miR-183 and p62 protein expression were all decreased (P＜0.05), the expression of Bnip3l mRNA and protein, beclin-1 and microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3-Ⅱ(LC3-Ⅱ)/LC3-Ⅰ proteins all increased(P＜0.05); In the miR-183 mimics group, except for the reduced cell survival rate, all the above indicators were opposite to the HR group with statistical significance (P＜0.05). Compared with miR-183 NC+ Bnip3l-3′UTR-WT group, the activity of luciferase in miR-183 mimics + Bnip3l-3′UTR-WT group decreased(P＜0.05). Conclusions The over-expression of miR-183 can target at inhibiting the expression of Bnip3l mRNA, the mitochondrial autophagy of HT-22 cells, and thus aggravate the damage of HT-22 cells caused by H/R.

Objective: To explore the safety and effectiveness nursing of 12 h discharged daytime laparoscopic cholecystectomy guided by enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) concept. Methods: Included 180 cases from the 12 h discharged daytime laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients which assessmended and guided by ERAS, with the 180 case of routine cholecystectomy patients as control group at the same time. To quantitatively analyze the related indexes of perioperative period and ERAS concept, and evaluate the clinical safety, and effectiveness. Results: It displayed no significant differences in average age, gender distribution, duration of gallbladder related disease and distribution of clinical symptoms between the two groups (P>0.05). There were also no significant differences in preoperative smoking history, hypertension history, cardio-cerebrovascular history, abdominal operation history and disease composition ratio between the two groups (P>0.05). None of the patients had conversion to laparotomy. Compared with the conventional surgery group, there were no significant differences in the average amount of intraoperative blood loss, operation time and muscle strength before returning to the ward in patients with ERAS guided day surgery (P>0.05). When compared with the conventional surgery group, ERAS guided day surgery group had no significant difference in muscle strength between the two groups when going under the ground (t=1.64, P=0.082). Also, the level of peripheral white blood cells in patients with ERAS guided day surgery group was not significantly increased at 6 h after surgery. Meanwhile, liver function related indexes, transaminase, total bilirubin, indirect bilirubin were not significantly abnormal (P>0.05). Conclusion: 12 h daytime laparoscopic cholecystectomy guided by ERAS concept can improve the clinical efficacy of patients with cholecystolithiasis,which is safe and feasible. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Metazoans harbor a wealth of symbionts that are ever‐changing the environment by taking up resources and/or excreting metabolites. One such common environmental modification is a change in pH. Conventional wisdom holds that symbionts facilitate the survival and production of their hosts in the wild, but this notion lacks empirical evidence. Here, we report that symbiotic bacteria in the genus Enterococcus attenuate the oviposition avoidance of alkaline environments in Drosophila. We studied the effects of alkalinity on oviposition preference for the first time, and found that flies are robustly disinclined to oviposit on alkali‐containing substrates. This innate repulsion to alkaline environments is explained, in part, by the fact that alkalinity compromises the health and lifespan of both offspring and parent Drosophila. Enterococcus dramatically diminished or even completely reversed the ovipositional avoidance of alkalinity in Drosophila. Mechanistically, Enterococcus generate abundant lactate during fermentation, which neutralizes the residual alkali in an egg‐laying substrate. In conclusion, Enterococcus protects Drosophila from alkali stress by acidifying the ovipositional substrate, and ultimately improves the fitness of the Drosophila population. Our results demonstrate that symbionts are profound factors in the Drosophila ovipositional decision, and extend our understanding of the intimate interactions between Drosophila and their symbionts. A new coordination polymer, [Cu(L)(bpmb)]n (I) (L = benzene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid, bpmb = 1,2-bis(pyridine-3-ylmethoxy)benzene), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single X-ray diffraction, IR, element analysis, and thermal analysis. A new triterpenoid named 19-hydroxy swinhoeic acid, together with four known compounds were isolated from the whole plants of Coluria longifolia Maxim. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data analysis and comparison with previously reported data. Photocatalysis is a green technology for the treatment of all kinds of contaminants and has advantages over other treatment methods. Recently, much effort has been devoted to developing new photocatalytic materials based on metal-organic frameworks for use in the degradation of many kinds of organic contaminants. With the aim of searching for more effective photocatalysts, the title three-dimensional coordination polymer, [Cd2(C8H4O4)2(C18H16N2O2)] n, was prepared. The asymmetric unit contains one CdII cation, one benzene-1,2-dicarboxylate anion (denoted L2−) and half of a centrosymmetric 1,4-bis(pyridin-3-ylmethoxy)benzene ligand (denoted bpmb). Each CdII centre is five-coordinated by four carboxylate O atoms from two L2− ligands and by one N atom from a bpmb ligand, forming a disordered pentagonal pyramidal coordination geometry. The CdII centres are interlinked by L2− ligands to form a one-dimensional [Cd2 L2] n chain. Adjacent chains are further connected by bpmb linkers, giving rise to a two-dimensional network, and these networks are pillared by bpmb to afford a three-dimensional framework with a 33.42.63.71.81 topology. Each grid in the framework has large channels which are filled mainly by the two other equivalent frameworks to form a threefold interpenetrating net. The compound exhibits relatively good photocatalytic activity towards the degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution under UV irradiation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
