2. Effect of Electroslag Remelting Using 37 Slag on Inclusions in M50 High-temperature Bearing Steel

Abstract

Non-metallic inclusion is a important factor affecting the fatigue property of high-temperature bearing steel. The effect of electroslag remelting （ESR） using 37 slag on inclusions of M50 high-temperature bearing steel was investigated in order to improve the level of inclusion control. Inclusions were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope equipped with energy dispersive spectrometer. The ingredients of slags before and after ESR was analyzed by X-ray fluorescence method. In the consumable electrode， inclusions were finer Al2O3-SiO2 with high SiO2 content （about 29.3% in average value）. No inclusions clusters were observed.After ESR， inclusions changed to Al2O3， the clusters inclusions with large size were observed. The content of SiO2 in the slag increased from 1.73% to 3.42%， and the Al2O3 content decreased； The content of Al in the steel increased significantly from

Abstract

Electric submersible pump (ESP) oil production technology is widely used in non-flowing high-yield wells and high water-cut wells, but equipment faults are prone to occur during operation, and subsequent maintenance may trigger long-term downtime, which may cause incalculable economic losses. At present, ESP fault diagnosis mainly depends on the experience of field technicians, and automatic diagnosis and analysis cannot be done quickly and timely. Therefore, this paper proposes an ESP fault diagnosis model based on Laplacian eigenmaps and weighted extreme learning machine. In response to the serious imbalance in the data collected by ESP, firstly, a fault diagnosis model is established using a weighted extreme learning machine; Then, to solve the problems of insufficient algorithm learning, high computational costs caused by weighted strategies, and poor performance in applying to high-dimensional feature spaces, the Laplacian eigenmaps method is introduced to further optimize the model; finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method was validated on the TE chemical process dataset, and the practicality of the algorithm was experimentally validated on the real-time fault dataset of electric submersible pump. The results show that the classification average accuracy, maximum accuracy, and G-mean of the algorithm proposed in this paper are improved by more than 10% on average compared with those of the support vector machine, decision tree, backpropagation (BP) algorithm, extreme learning machine, and weighted extreme learning machine, thus confirming the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract

The effect of calcium addition on inclusions (oxides and sulfides) in heavy steel ingot is investigated via lab experiments and thermodynamic calculation. The characteristics (chemistry, size, morphology, and number) of inclusions in the steel samples are investigated by scanning electron microscope with an energy‐dispersive spectrometer. The three‐dimensional morphology of inclusions is investigated by the nonaqueous solution electrolysis method. Inclusions in the fast‐quenched steel are changed from Al2O3 to Al2O3–CaO, Al2O3–CaO–CaS, and CaS after Ca addition. After slow cooling, inclusions in the solid steels are changed from Al2O3, single MnS, and Al2O3–MnS complex inclusions to Al2O3–CaO–CaS–MnS and CaS–MnS. The evolution trajectory of inclusions is Al2O3→Al2O3–CaO→Al2O3–CaO–CaS→Al2O3–CaO–CaS–MnS. With increasing Ca content in the steel, the number density and proportion of single MnS inclusions decrease. The formation mechanism of inclusions after Ca addition is explained by thermodynamic calculation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

40. Transformation process of the magnetron-sputtered Ag$_2$O film in hydrogen annealing

Abstract

The current paper mainly addresses the effect of the hydrogen partial pressure on the microstructure and transformation of the Ag$_2$O film. The transformation process and mechanism were also analyzed in detail. Increasing the hydrogen partial pressure can accelerate the transformation of Ag$_2$O to Ag and lower the critical transformation temperature of the film due to the enhanced hydrogen reduction, and to both of the lowered activation energy of the reaction of Ag$_2$O with hydrogen and enhanced lattice strain of the Ag$_2$O film, respectively. Hydrogen-involved reaction in the whole hydrogen annealing process is mainly hydrogen reduction reaction with Ag$_2$O. The diffusion of hydrogen and gaseous H$_2$O molecules is accompanied with the whole hydrogen annealing process., Comment: This manuscript will appear in Volume 43 of the Brazilian Journal of Physics
