17. Multivariate analysis between environmental factors and fruit quality of citrus at the core navel orange-producing area in China.

Abstract

Gannan is the largest navel orange production area in China. Most studies have primarily focused on the effects of either soil or topographic factors on the quality of navel oranges. However, there has been a lack of research exploring the relationship between navel orange quality and multiple environmental factors (meteorological, topographic, and soil). This study focused on Gannan navel oranges, selecting standard orchards in the core navel orange-producing area as the research region. It employed the Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR) method to investigate the extent of the impact of environmental factors on fruit quality. The results indicated that the effect of soil factors on fruit shape and fruit flavor was greater than that of meteorological and topographic factors in the Gannan area. And the fruit peel is more uniformly influenced by environmental factors. Based on the degree of impact of various environmental factors, multiple regression equations for fruit quality have been established to identify the optimal conditions conducive to the comprehensive development of Gannan navel oranges. 36. Regulation of the microenvironment of Pb2O3@Bi2O3-tube by structural reconstruction for boosting the electrochemical ozone production performance.

Abstract

Electrochemical ozone preparation (EOP) provided a novel technological path for on-site preparation of ozone. However, the elucidation of authentic active sites within anodic electrocatalysts during the EOP process remained a formidable challenge. Herein, tubular Bi2O3 was synthesized and Pb2O3 particles were embedded inside the tubular structure by wet chemistry methodologies (named Pb2O3@Bi2O3-tube). The unique structure could expose the active site and enhances the coupled contact between the reactive species and the active site. More importantly, the Pb2O3@Bi2O3-tube electrocatalyst showed a dissolution remodeling phenomenon during the EOP reaction, and partially transformed into sheet Bi24Pb2O40. Correspondingly, structural characterization revealed that the reconfigured electrocatalyst induces changes in the electronic environment. Moreover, the reconfigured electrocatalyst also provides more active sites and faster electron transfer capability, which could optimize the microenvironment for electrochemical reactions and accelerating the EOP reaction. The satisfactory electrodegradation performance of the reconfigured electrocatalysts for organic pollutants implied their capability for environmental applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Mandarin fish ranavirus (MRV) infection poses a substantial challenge to the mandarin fish culture industry as no effective preventive or therapeutic measures currently exist. The creation of a highly permissive cell line from a natural host is crucial for developing a vaccine for MRV and understanding its pathogenic mechanisms. In this research, the mandarin fish (Siniperca chuatsi) kidney cell line (SCK) was isolated from mandarin fish kidneys. Subsequently, SCK-a to SCK-g monoclonal cell lines were derived from the SCK cell population, distinguished by morphological variations. Notably, MRV infection induced an advanced cytopathic effect (CPE) in almost all cells of the SCK-f clone. Further tests showed that MRV achieved a peak viral titer of 1010.7 50% tissue culture infectious dose (TCID50)/mL and consistently exceeded 1010 TCID50/mL across nine passages in SCK-f cells. Electron microscopy verified the MRV virion integrity within SCK-f. In vivo experiments revealed that MRV infections led to cumulative mortality rates of 86.9% in mandarin fish and 88.9% in largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides). Such results suggest that SCK-f is highly permissive to MRV. This study underscores the importance of cellular diversity in developing viral permissive cell lines. Abstract

我国华南是世界上最重要的锡矿资源省之一，其锡矿成矿时代从新元古代、古生代、早中生代至晚中生代均有发育，其中以晚中生代锡矿成矿作用最为重要，成矿集中在中晚侏罗世（160~150Ma）和晚白垩世（100~80Ma）。然而，最近在东南沿海成矿带新识别出一期早白垩世锡（钨）（145~130Ma）成矿事件，改变了以往华南锡（钨）矿床时空分布格局。本文在详细介绍东南沿海早白垩世锡（钨）矿床地质特征基础上，系统总结了其成岩成矿时空分布，并与南岭板内锡（钨）成矿作用进行对比，浅析了早白垩世锡（钨）矿的成岩成矿背景和找矿潜力。研究显示，早白垩世锡（钨）成矿主要发生在东南沿海成矿带的粤东和赣州会昌地区，矿床类型以斑岩型和锡石硫化物型为主。与成矿有关的岩石为黑云母花岗岩和花岗斑岩，成因上属于高分异I型或A型，与南岭板内锡（钨）矿相比，具有较高的锆石eHf（t）值和较低δ18O值，以及较高成岩温度，表明成岩过程中有较多新生地壳或地幔物质加入。结合区内发育同时期基性岩脉，认为华南这期早白垩世锡（钨）矿形成于岩石圈伸展背景，与古太平洋板块俯冲后撤有关。最后指出覆盖大面积晚白垩世火山岩的东南沿海地区，火山岩盖层下部具有寻找该期锡（钨）矿床的找矿潜力。

Abstract

The light spectrum is a vital environmental factor for the culture of fish, and the welfare of farmed fish is a crucial issue in aquaculture. In this study, Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus, GIFT strain) juveniles were exposed to full-spectrum (LW), red (LR), yellow (LY), or blue (LB) light. After the 45-day experiment, growth performance, stress responses, and aggressive behaviors were evaluated, and transcriptomic analysis was carried out. The results revealed that LW and LR positively affected growth performance. At the same time, LY and LB had a negative effect. Light spectrum induced stress responses of juvenile fish exposed to LY, under which the total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) and cortisol (COR) contents were the highest. The activities of α-amylase (AMS), protease (PES), and lipase (LPS) in the digestive tract showed a similar tendency, indicating that the light spectra altered the digestive enzyme activities and then affected growth. Behavioral analyses showed increased chase and bite activities of tilapia juveniles exposed to LW and LY. The affected functions included the nervous system, muscle morphogenesis, and immune system-related regulation. Enriched Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways include the tryptophan metabolism signaling pathway, protein digestion and absorption signaling pathway, Jak-STAT signaling pathway, arachidonic acid metabolism signaling pathway, and alpha-linolenic acid metabolism signaling pathway. Overall, light spectra influenced the welfare of farmed tilapia juveniles in terms of growth, stress, and behavior. Our results suggested that LR should be used in juvenile tilapia culture.
